Were you to live life as the owner of a dog-sized insect, which species of creepy crawly would you choose as your companion? We spend an unreasonable amount of time exploring the many potential pitfalls of life as the custodian of giant snails, bees and flies. We also discuss the hairstyles of history's most famous vampires, from Dracula to Count Duckula. There's a discussion on the lesser known Baldwin brothers, and consideration given to the scourge of ghost-on-ghost crime.
It's almost time for us to meet Sweeti Jr! Sweetie will be giving birth to the latest member of the Sweetie Club any day now, so we decided to prepare by watching some classic movies about babies. First up, the sequel to the hit 80s flick Honey, I Shrunk the Kids----Honey, I Blew Up the Kid! Following the Szalinski's to Las Vegas, this sequel introduces 2 year old Adam who accidentally gets in the way of Dad's new enlarging laser at the lab and turns into a giant baby that takes over Vegas. While this one doesn't hold a candle to the OG, the Sweeties were touched by how much they could relate to the toddler moments. Plus, how can we ever hate one of our number one sweeties Rick Moranis!?
In episode 49 of our 1566-part series ranking every film on Disney Plus, Shawn, Bob, and Rob discuss 1992's "Honey, I Blew Up the Kid", the sequel to "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids," eventually leading to the TV-series spinoff, "Honey, I Shrunk the Aspect Ratio". Those zany Szalinskis are at it again! Back on episode #54, your hosts talked with Jeff DiPaoli about the junior novelization of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids and now they are back to discuss the sequel, Honey, I Blew Up the Kid. Junior novelizations are a great way to engage young readers with their favorite films. Released in 1992, the novelization was released by Scholastic 7 months before the film to get readers excited for the sequel. Three years after the success of the shrink ray, Dr. Wayne Szalinski is hired to develop a growth machine. In the process of testing the ray, baby Adam is enlarged to 112 feet tall. So get ready for this larger than life episode and don't let the baby out of the play pen! It’s not all about politics, for crazy things are happening elsewhere in the union. To start, international treasure Rick Moranis is recovering after being randomly sucker punched in New York City. Upon breaking that down, Jack hypothesizes that Moranis will appear in the new Ghostbusters, despite claims of the contrary. Meanwhile, if searching for a good hypnotist, then avoid New Jersey. The Szalinski family is back and bigger than ever! Following the massive success of 1989's Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Disney jumped at the opportunity to franchise the sci-fi family comedy. Two sequels followed, one hit theaters while the other went straight-to-video. Returning guest Jamie Gagnon joins Zach & Brandon to discuss 1992's Honey, I Blew Up the Kid. They get into its production history, insane plot and special effects. They've also got questions like why does every woman in this movie faint? Or why didn't the filmmakers explore this giant baby's diaper situation?

Randal Kleiser grew up with a poster of Disneyland above his bed. He knew every square inch and when he finally got to go, he knew exactly where everything was like he’d been there a thousands times. That passion for Disney eventually helped foster a love of filmmaking and, years later, Randal would have his own attraction at Disneyland that kids would be seeking out - Honey I Shrunk the Audience. The director of such hits as Grease, Flight of the Navigator, and Honey I Blew Up the Kid, Randal has had an amazing career that spans both decades and technology, as he continues to push the boundaries of what filmmaking can be. Randal chats with host Nathan Hartman about his college years with his roommate George Lucas, working with wolf dogs out in the wild on White Fang, and just how they pulled off those special effects in Honey, I Shrunk the Audience. Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Looking Back On My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast. Today, I'm bringing you the next installment in the HONEY Franchise with 1992's Honey, I BLEW UP The Kid. In this movie, The Szalinski family is back, this time hilarious disaster strikes when an experiment causes their new toddler son to grow many stories tall. I really enjoyed this movie almost as much as the first installment, I remember when I first saw the trailer on TV when I was 10 I was so excited at this next chapter. I even got the 32 Page Book courtesy of Scholastic's Book Order and much later the chapter book. Maybe later I'll cover some of the chapter book in a separate podcast episode, so we can get inside the heads of the characters. I really enjoyed covering this movie and hope you all enjoy listening to it. I'll be back in June to cover the third and final installment in the series, the straight to video sequel, Honey, WE shrunk Ourselves. Have a great weekend everyone! Website | Merch | Twitter Rick Moranis is coming back! We changed our logo! Lots of things are happening! Celebrate with us as we watch Honey I Blew Up the Baby for our 101st movie on The VCR Kids!
It's Julia Sweeney week so we're talking about her iconic work in the 1992 family film Honey, I Blew Up The Kid. The follow-up to Honey, I Shrunk The Kids, this film was originally intended as a stand alone film called 'Big Baby' until somebody from the studio decided to turn it into a sequel. How does a wife put up with this shit twice? How would you react if you saw your baby's giant genitals? Are any of Rick Moranis's inventions of any use? Why does this movie involve a corporate espionage subplot? All these questions plus needlessly complicated toast in this week's episode of Saturday Night Jive.Download Here
Cloverleaf Radio's host The Host with the Most Jimmy Falcon welcomes Actor/Director/Writer/Producer, Peter Elbling! Mine was a happy childhood with a typical English upbringing: an estate in the country and a house in town, private school, my own manservant, etc., etc. However I was born with a restless spirit and at age 19 I gave it all up for the life of the traveling folksinger in Canada, which surprisingly had none at the time. A year later, this same nervous energy caused me to drop folk singing and join Michel Choquette in a comedy duo we called The Times Square Two. For the next five years we appeared in coffee houses, night clubs, and concert halls, as well as such TV shows as The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, The Dean Martin Show, The Gold Diggers, The Johnny Carson Show, and The Kraft Music Hall -- and many more. After the demise of The Times Square Two I studied acting with the improvisational comedy troupes "The Committee" and "The Second City." For the next 20 years I appeared on stage in Shakespeare and on screen in Taxi, WKRP in Cincinnati, Laverne and Shirley, Rhoda, Phyllis, Shaft, and numerous cops and robbers shows. I also appeared in films, perhaps none more interesting than Phantom of the Paradise, in which I also sang and danced -- and choreographed. Soon after, Garry Goodrow and I wrote a film called "Big Baby," which was bought by Disney and turned into Honey, I Blew up the Kid. I was now devoting so much time to writing that I gave up acting altogether. But, since I didn't know what I was doing I joined Jim Krusoe's writing workshop at Santa Monica City College --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jianetwork/support
Vegas baby... a very big baby. This week, we review and discuss "Honey, I Blew Up The Kid". Does this film do the first one justice? Is it even necessary? Does it fill in any plot holes? Is Sean's prediction for the star of the reboot accurate? All of this and more this week on Monoreel Radio.

The one where Green Blooded Bastard watches Honey, I Blew Up The Kid. In this film Rick Moranis still has a huge cock, but blows shit because he fucking can!
This episode is longer than usual because we just couldn’t stop talking…
A crazy painful realization that changes everything The pace of change I adopted Where I went and what I found there Is there such a thing as too much loyalty in a team? The scorecard that helped re-center me How the scales have been feeling imbalanced and what that means What can be faced and what can be changed My big question in the midst of this change The practice that helped prepare me to be flexible Why there’s a lot of work ahead and how I feel about it Quotables “I built a freakin’ hard business.” “I just planted my flag about 10 years ago in this particular market, set things up the best I knew at that point in time, and then I just stuck with it.” “The value I can deliver did not match the value received.”“I’m likely going to need to fundamentally restructure my business.” “If I hadn’t set these big goals I might never have noticed the inherent constraints that have been built into the business model that I’ve been working within.” “It’s hard to look at my business and see this is built in a non-optimal way.” “I was feeling kind of lonely. I was noticing that I keep outgrowing people.” “I am proud of myself for trying.” “Feels like it will be a lot of work, but I love work, so bring it on.” “It’s essential to step away.” “Everything changes. Everything passes at some point in time.”

Mark, Rick and Brian have a "reviewsit" of Honey, I Blew Up the Kid while also engaging in a quick chat on local waste management practices. The lads discuss the original title of this Honey, I Shrunk the Kids sequel, share how the New Mickey Mouse Club heavily promoted the film when it was first released and describe the former Epcot attraction "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience." The fellas also coin the term 'Baby-prov' for the performance of Rick Moranis in many scenes, touch upon the following direct-to-home video sequel and discover the very strange shared universe connection of the movie to the Indiana Jones series AND Citizen Kane. Grab your favorite GIANT stuffed animal and get ready to do the LONG version of the hokey-pokey with 3 dudes in their "Terrible Thirty-Somethings" because this episode is HUGE!
Mark and Mike show Rick Moranis some love and watch Honey, I Blew Up The Kid. They discuss direct to video sequels, how being big differs from being small, and what Moranis has been up to.

Welcome back to Bob's Lake, D Lovers! Vicky, Nolan and Jill could think of no better way to celebrate the sequel to our kinda-sorta live show than doing our very first Disney sequel; so let's give a warm welcome back to the Szalinski family (except for Amy who vanishes about five minutes into the movie) with Honey, I Blew Up the Kid! You may wonder what inspired a sequel that basically just does the inverse story of the original, but if you thought it was because someone thought of the idea "giant baby" and shoehorned it into an existing property, you wouldn't be that far off. The end result is a sequel that doesn't quite compare to its original (or arguably its own direct-to-video sequel), but certainly has its charms. More Rick Moranis is always a plus, especially when paired with a very impressive toddler performer; the Nick and Keri Russell romance has just the right of dark sexual undertones to it; and watching a fully-grown man dressed up as a toddler in an over-sized sports jacket is more entertaining than you might think. So enjoy the sounds of nature and the great outdoors and celebrate the last days of summer with your favourite podcast hosts in this week's episode of We Want The D!

Don't you just hate it when one of your experiments at the high-tech laboratory near Las Vegas goes horribly wrong and your 2-year old son grows to a hundred feet tall? Right? It's the worst! OK, so maybe not all of us can share Wayne Szalinski's pain, but it's there to see in the 1992 sequel Honey, I Blew Up The Kid starring Rick Moranis, Lloyd Bridges, and Keri Russell. Yes, really, the pre-Felicity Russell plays the romantic interest of Wayne's son, which is why he ends up tying her up at one point in this movie, bound and gagged. (Maybe that's not exactly why. But still.) Gabe and Josh are taking on this big baby for the new episode of Mousterpiece Cinema, and as you might expect, there's a bit of disagreement about what kind of sequel this is: not bad or all bad. Plus, another round of Gabe's Celebrity Crushes, which is distressingly becoming a thing on the show. Check it out now!
