(2/8/2024) Mike and returning cohost, actress Mia Bella had a great time chatting with actress Kate Moyer. Kate Moyer is a Canadian actress who came to prominence when she was first cast in a supporting lead role in the Elevation Pictures feature film, Our House, playing opposite Thomas Mann, Nicola Peltz, and Percy Hynes White. For her performance in the role Moyer was honored with a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the 2019 Canadian Screen Awards, one of the top film acting awards in the country. Moyer is best known for her work as "Heather Hobbie" in Holly Hobbie for Hulu, a role that earned her second Canadian Screen Award nomination in 2020. Audiences lauded her heart wrenching performance in the season 3 finale of the award-winning The Handmaid's Tale for Hulu where Moyer played directly opposite Emmy Award winning Elisabeth Moss. Moyer can be seen recurring heavily in Hallmark's spin-off series When Hope Calls, the fan favorite series Station Eleven by acclaimed director Hiro Murai for HBO Max, as well as the anthology series Circuit Breakers for AppleTV+. At the time this interview took place, Del was releasing his new book, The Sordid Lives Saga: Before The Trip, in which Leslie Jordan wrote the forward. It's very rare when someone is able to star in back to back hit television shows but Melissa Joan Hart was able to do just that when shortly after wrapping up "Clarissa Explains It All" went on to star in this weeks episode, "Sabrina The Teenage Witch". The show chronicles the adventures of Sabrina Spellman, a girl who discovers on her 16th birthday that she is a witch. The show, which was based on the Archie Comics series of the same name was a near instant hit and ended up with a seven season run. So with that in mind a sitcom about a witch living in Massachusetts seemed like the perfect Halloween episode for this year. Carole Montgomery is a respected veteran of the stand-up scene nationwide. She has over two dozen TV credits, has headlined clubs across the U.S., starred in two Las Vegas production shows, did eleven comedy tours with Armed Forces Entertainment, and has been a featured performer for Montreal Just for Laughs and Boston and New York Comedy Festivals.  Carole is also a director and producer. In 2017 she created the live stand-up comedy show Funny Women of a Certain Age which premiered on Showtime and became the network's highest rated comedy special for 2019 making TV history as the first comedy special to feature six women over the age of 50! In addition to her hilarious self, Carole has brought to the show some of the most respected names in comedy including Fran Drescher, Janeane Garofalo, Caroline Rhea, Julia Scotti and many more. In this episode, Carole openly shares the funny, touching, jaw dropping stories of her career. Don Rickles gave her the ultimate compliment of dissing her. Richard Pryor brought her to tears in the best of ways. Her stories of how she has faced ageism, sexism, and how she continues to persevere are compelling. Carole is still going strong at 64 years old bringing laughter to audiences across the country.
