I am talking this week about how you need to stop running (or having a hard workout) on an empty belly. I debunk the most common questions on why people decide to do fat adapted workouts/runs. I also talk about why people don't eat before workouts/runs because of GI issues. I have done both of these and I give you a lot ideas on what to do instead of these fat adapted workouts/runs. Are you confused how to fuel and train to perform your best each day -as well as to be your best version of yourself in the future?? Peter Defty explain optimal fat metabolism and how VESPA can help improve fat oxidation. Fat loss vs. performance vs. longevity fitness plans Matching fueling with training Intensity - zone 4/5 vs. zone 1/2 Fat oxidation- do we need carbs first to burn fat (fat metabolism) Learn more in my blog and audio podcast coming out soon: https://debbiepotts.net/optimal-fat-m... and watch our video here to see slides How does VESPA “work?” if it only contains 19 calories? Vespa is a metabolic catalyst (“Nature's Catalyst') which works with your natural fat burning physiology to enhance your ability to tap into YOUR virtually unlimited energy source: FAT. In other words, Vespa's 19 calories helps access the thousands of calories you are meant to burn aerobically. The key ingredient in Vespa is “Wasp Extract,” a naturally-occurring bio-active peptide derived from the Asian Giant Wasp. This allows this predatory wasp to fly 60-100 Kilometers per day, kill prey, and carry 1/3 of it's weight in a food ball back to the colony to feed to larvae, all done using “Fat for Fuel!” Because animal cells are remarkably similar across species the Japanese entomologists who made this discovery of nature, theorized this peptide would have a similar physiological response across species. Studies in Japan and Vespa's 23 year real world success at the highest levels of sport confirm this. Episode 2109 - On this Monday show, Anna Vocino and Vinnie Tortorich talk about hunger when fat adapted, Ultra Fat and Eat Happy marinara orders, coffee as a drug, alcohol's effect on your sleep, and more. https://vinnietortorich.com/2022/05/hunger-when-fat-adapted-more-episode-2109 PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SPONSORS HUNGER WHEN FAT ADAPTED Vinnie has been working and moving around in the yard a lot recently. He was prepping for Tallulah's law school graduation party. This involved a lot of manual labor. By 3 pm, Vinnie had walked over 20,000 steps. He realized around 3 pm that he hadn't eaten since 7 pm the night before. Vinnie did not mean to intermittent fast, but he is so fat adapted, he barely even noticed. All he had was coffee with a little cream, and that kept him going throughout the very hot day. If you're fat adapted correctly, intermittent fasting (intentional or otherwise) becomes easier. You can even exercise. To break this accidental fast, he'll probably have a giant steak in the evening. COFFEE AS A DRUG There have been many studies that have shown health benefits of coffee. It can be good for your heart, and has many antioxidants. However, if you're needing coffee as a stimulant, there's probably another issue there. It might be with your sleep or your diet, but you shouldn't use coffee as a drug! Vinnie used to 'use' it, so he addressed that in order to keep drinking it for enjoyment. Today I want to share with you why all of this talk about becoming fat adapted is largely marketing speak… The human body has three main energy systems and burning body fat as a fuel is the predominant one that we are always using. The reason I state this is that you do not get to choose what energy system you are going to tap into, it is chosen for you based on the stress placed on your body. This is why it's important to understand the foundations of human physiology so if your goal is to burn more body fat you truly understand how to do so.
