Obesity is one of the major risk factors for developing kidney disease, which is measured through the body mass index or BMI. This measurement factors into the process for both living donors and transplant recipients. On today's episode, you'll learn how to measure your BMI and hear from both kidney patients on how managing their weight affected their kidney health. In this episode we spoke with, Carol Murray is a Quality Manager for Boston Scientific in Minnesota. On June 12, 2019, she donated a kidney to her husband who was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease in 2015. Introduced to the National Kidney Foundation too and through the transplant journey Carol became passionate about ways to draw attention to need for living donors as well as advocating for living donors. Working with the National Kidney Foundation on a local level she has participated in the Big Ask:Big Give, Kidney Walks, and Advocacy Day. With a strong desire to provide help and hope for others Carol has been involved in several roles with a few different non-profit organizations. Carol has a B.S degree in Quality Management from the University of Minnesota Crookston, and an A.A.S in Manufacturing Technology from Hennepin Technical College. Golnaz Ghomeshi Friedman, RD, is a Senior Dietitian and Certified Clinical Transplant Dietitian for UC Davis Health Transplant Program and has been working in this role since 2014. Golnaz values the importance and impact of nutrition in the transplant population and has been involved in a variety of projects directly impacting patient care. She has developed and modified policies that have made a significant impact on the decision-making process for transplant patient selection. Golnaz has worked with the transplant team and served as co-investigator on various research projects including those centered around assessment of malnutrition, functional status and frailty in transplant candidates. Melanie Pina was diagnosed with lupus nephritis in 2018, and in 2021 she became a peritoneal dialysis patient. Melanie started sharing her journey online since April 2022 and recently had weight loss surgery to be on the transplant list. Now she is waiting for a transplant and hopefully, her second shot at life will come soon. Golnaz flydde tillsammans med sin familj från Iran 1983 till Sverige. Hon utbildade sig på Handelshögskolan i Stockholm och arbetade sedan som journalist på bland annat Dagens Industri. Hon har grundat Inkludera Invest som är ett nätverk för sociala entreprenörer och har även gett ut boken ”Hon är inte jag”. Dina råkar utföra sina naturliga behov på offentlig plats och blir tagen av polisen. Hon lyckas rymma från polishuset och därmed är jakten igång. Vem ska hjälpa Dina på flykt? Samtidigt nere i centrum ska allas vår Demonstratris visa hur ett nytt pessar, som precis kommit ut på marknaden, fungerar. Så ta ett steg tillbaka Stalkern bevittnar en högst oväntad bluff när hon förföljer en av Sveriges mest kända skådespelare.
Flera kvällar i rad har det stått en man som glor rakt in i Dinas lägenhet. Hon ringer till polisen, men de rycker inte ut om det inte har hänt någonting och Dina beslutar sig då för att ta lagen i egna händer. Golnaz lär ut självförsvar och snubbeltråd, och farliga fällor riggas. En ny, hittills okänd granne dyker upp och beter sig mystiskt.
Dina försöker komma i form Okej. Dina var inte med barn och vill nu komma i form utan att banta eller motionera. Tonårsmamman Bettan vet precis hur man gör för att bli smal det är bara att börja spy. Ordningsvakterna Ibbe och Frasse har också fått kropp och hälsa på hjärnan. Frasse tycks nämligen ha drabbats av megarexi. Arabtanten bjuder på arabicaerobics träna ett, träna två. Golnaz vill man inte titta på. Träna tre, träna fyr. Dina du är fet som tjyr. Träna fem, träna sex. Vresen svag som tunna kex. Och så har konsumentombudsfjortisen varit på teater. Hon är inte nöjd
Dinas röriga liv fortsätter. Nu misstänker hon att hon är med barn och det går ju inte ihop med asienresan och allt annat som ska hinnas med i livet. Vad göra? Dina går upp till sin granne småbarnsmamman för att få råd. Golnaz tycker att Dina ska öva på att vara mamma och drar igång en irriterande rollspelslek. Kvarterets självutnämnde polis, Greger von Vresen, härjar i barnvagnsrummet och samtidigt råkar en körskoleelev ut för en sexfixerad bilskolelärare.
Arabtanten tycks ha träffat mitt i prick vad gäller Snygg-Alex för ikväll går Dina på dejt med honom. Som vanligt blir det inte riktigt som hon har tänkt sig. Strulet börjar redan med valet av klädsel... Sedan går saker och ting milt sagt för långt, och plötsligt ockuperar Alex Dinas lägenhet. Arabtanten spricker ut i skönsjungande lovsång till "kärleksparet" och Golnaz tror att hon kanske är lesbisk. Till slut måste Bengtsson rycka in och hjälpa en desperat Dina.
Dina vill åka iväg på den obligatoriska backpacker-resan till Asien och behöver pengar. Tillsammans med sin granne och självutnämnde bästis Golnaz drar hon igång ett soppkök. Arabtanten, som alltid har en zingelkille på tråden, ordnar kockhjälp och kastruller. Men allt står inte rätt till med soppan Stalkern har hittat en ny och mycket spännande person att förfölja, men det krånglar väldigt i början. Bettan går till tandläkaren och ojar sig som vanligt över tonåringars svårighet att navigera mellan alla olika val de har. Ridläger eller anusblekning?
Dina har nu bott i sin nya lägenhet en vecka och trivs bra. Men något är skumt. Hon hör en katt som jamar inne i lägenheten och vet inte om det är hon som håller på att bli galen eller om det faktiskt spökar på riktigt. Grannen Golnaz börjar prata om Mördarn, som tydligen bor i trappuppgången, och Arabtanten erbjuder en farlig rykande-sten-ceremoni. Jungfrukiss ska tydligen funka bra också Men hur får man en oskuld att kissa i sin lägenhet? New age-fantaster hjälper Dina att hitta sin inre hjälpare och jakten på spökkatten är i full gång.

Din ledsagare är Dina som sänder en radioblogg från sin första egna lägenhet i ett höghus i ett centrum någonstans i Sverige. För det mesta är det hon själv som regerar framför micken men ibland dyker även Golnaz upp, grannen som bor mittemot. Dina ger dig ocensurerade rapporter från en vardag som kantas av en kavalkad av knepiga situationer och karaktärer. Grannar, kompisar, pojkvänner, dejter. En busschaufför som har läst för mycket psykologi, bilskoleläraren som hatar sitt jobb, deppiga ordningsvakter och en överbeskyddande tonårsmamma. Ibland lyssnar Dina på närradiostationen Radio Hjällbo med lokalprofilen Adaam Falk. I hans program blir det debatter, reportage från fältet och önskelåtar.I premiärprogrammet flyttar Dina in och bekantar sig med huset och de nya grannarna. Hon inviger sin lägenhet och lyckas drabbas av en onaniskada. Hon bevittnar ett oväntat aggroutbrott i tvättstugan och utsätts för äktenskapsmäkleri i hissen.
