In 1999, Ali Jafari fled the Taliban regime in Afghanistan and was resettled as a refugee in Australia. But then, while visiting Pakistan, his permanent residency was suddenly cancelled. Now, 12 years later, he’s still stranded – separated from his family and fighting ASIO’s allegations that he is a people smuggler. In court, Jafari’s family and legal team are up against it. They have discovered that the evidence behind his adverse security assessment is deemed confidential and will only be presented in a closed hearing – without their presence. It’s an example of how the national security apparatus is increasingly being used to pursue suspected people smugglers, often at the expense of foundational principles of justice. Today, journalist and contributor to The Saturday Paper Mark Isaacs on the Jafari family’s search for answers and why ASIO refuses to provide them. She delves into the common challenges marriages face, including financial stress, in-law interference, toxic positivity, and the seven- year itch. Padideh also provides practical tips for better communication, creating healthy boundaries, and the importance of self-awareness in marriage. This episode is a must-listen for anyone looking to strengthen their relationship or navigate marital challenges with wisdom and grace. About Padideh Jafari Padideh Jafari, Esq is the founder and CEO of Jafari Law & Mediation Office, APC, with locations in Los Angeles and Orange County. She earned her B.A. in Communication Studies with a minor in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University and her J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law. During law school, Mrs. Jafari served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Michael D. Rutberg of the Los Angeles Superior Court and clerked for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, specializing in child abuse cases. She has also been an Adjunct Professor at NYU and the Southern California Institute of Law, teaching Family Law, Community Property, and Real Estate Law. Admitted to the California Bar and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California in 2003, Mrs. Jafari has over 22 years of experience handling complex Family Law matters, including high-asset property division, business valuation, cash-flow analysis, and high-stakes custody litigation. In addition to her legal practice, Mrs. Jafari co-hosts The Narcissist Abuse Recovery Channel (NARC), a weekly podcast focused on navigating divorce involving narcissistic partners. She frequently appears on television, YouTube, podcasts, and other media outlets to share her expertise. Insights: Padideh: "I would say that before you decide to file for a divorce, do everything humanly possible in order to see if you can make the marriage work. Obviously, if there are you know, domestic violence, that's something that you know cannot easily be worked out. But if there's communication problems, if there's resentments, if there are, you know, different expectations. Now, because remember, people grow right every year, somebody is growing and you want to be growing together and not growing apart. And so, I think it's important." Liz: "...turn over every stone. Let's make sure that we have looked at this left, right, upside down, backwards, inside out, to know that we've had [no] doubts there is no other way than divorce. I don't want people to leave or five years down the road say, gosh, looking back. What if? What if I found a better therapist? What if I tried harder? I want us to turn over every, every stumbling stone." In There's a Disco Ball Between Us: A Theory of Black Gay Life (Duke UP, 2022), Jafari S. Allen offers a sweeping and lively ethnographic and intellectual history of what he calls “Black gay habits of mind.” In conversational and lyrical language, Allen locates this sensibility as it emerged from radical Black lesbian activism and writing during the long 1980s. He traverses multiple temporalities and locations, drawing on research and fieldwork conducted across the globe, from Nairobi, London, and Paris to Toronto, Miami, and Trinidad and Tobago. In these locations and archives, Allen traces the genealogies of Black gay politics and cultures in the visual art, poetry, film, Black feminist theory, historiography, and activism of thinkers and artists such as Audre Lorde, Marsha P. Johnson, Essex Hemphill, Colin Robinson, Marlon Riggs, Pat Parker, and Joseph Beam. Throughout, Allen renarrates Black queer history while cultivating a Black gay method of thinking and writing. In so doing, he speaks to the urgent contemporary struggles for social justice while calling on Black studies to pursue scholarship, art, and policy derived from the lived experience and fantasies of Black people throughout the world. This week I am reading from Karl Svozil's book 'UFOs: Unidentified Aerial Phenomena: Observations, Explanations and Speculations'.Unidentified phenomena in space, in the Earth's atmosphere, and in waters are too important to leave their exploration to the military and scientific laypersons. Their proper scientific study is important for a variety of reasons; in particular, scientists and the public at large need to know the basic facts, to be informed about the way evidence is recorded, and to understand the difference been reliable evidence and fiction, as well as between plausible explanations and fantasy. With this objective, the book surveys the history of UFO observations, the variety of recorded phenomena, and recounts the efforts of investigative commissions and their published findings.Although wild rumors are demystified in the process, this is not an exercise in rumor-bashing. An open and at the same time critical mindset is the key. Many narratives and hypothesis appear implausible relative to our present state of knowledge; but this alone should not lead to their outright exclusion. Thus the author also pays attention to UFO sightings that have so far eluded explanation in terms of known physics or meteorology. Here the reader will encounter some of the more speculative but scientifically tenable proposals, for example, relating to sudden zigzag motion without apparent inertia or recognizable propulsion, yet always with a clear guide to their plausibility. Last but not least, the book outlines plans and suggestions for future research capable of revealing the existence and intentions of extraterrestrial intelligences, outer-space engineers, or technologies so far known only from science fiction.BioKarl Svozil (born 18 December 1956 in Vienna, Austria) is an Austrian physicist educated at the University of Vienna and Heidelberg University. Visiting scholar at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory of the University of California at Berkeley, US (1982–1983), the Lebedev Institute of the Moscow State University, and the Ioffe Institute, St. Petersburg (1986). Docent in Theoretical Physics at the Vienna Technical University. Ao. Univ. Professor at the Institute for Theoretical Physics of the Vienna Technical University. External Researcher at the Centre for Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science[1] of the University of Auckland.Research in quantum theory, applications of computability theory, algorithmic information theory, constructive mathematics (in Errett Bishop's sense) in theoretical physics, equilibrium dynamics.Amazon link https://tinyurl.com/3ux346a4https://www.pastliveshypnosis.co.uk/https://www.patreon.com/alienufopodcast

And so the podcast is a fantastic opportunity for them to get to know you, for them to understand your points of view, for them to just casually hear you out.""I think podcasting is uniquely positioned to essentially be that sort of informal introduction about who the company is and what we're trying to accomplish.""I know sales people would probably say, no, you have to be more direct and assertive and all that stuff. A hundred percent agree. I think there is a time and a place for all that, but I think as marketers, people that live further up in the funnel, we just have to do a better job of being a guide as opposed to being sellers."The B2B Content Show is produced by Connversa, a podcast production agency helping B2B brands connecting with prospects, generates TONS of content, and grow revenue. In There's a Disco Ball Between Us: A Theory of Black Gay Life (Duke UP, 2022), Jafari S. “Stop hoping, stop wishing. Start doing action! — That's the main key.” -Master Jeff    Did you know that there is an art to getting back on track? Sounds funny but it is true!    Sometimes we feel like life is just one huge roller coaster and there's no off-ramp.  We start to find ourselves on a different path than the one  we were originally following by choice. These times can feel like they just last forever and seem insurmountable. It's easy to feel discouraged, doubtful, and consumed by these feelings. But the truth is, nobody stays on top forever. That's unrealistic. Life moves up and down and in all directions, so it's impossible to stay in one place. However, there are those who get back on the horse fast. But while life may be a roller coaster at times, you're fully in control of whether you choose to get off at any given stop. In this episode, Daniel is joined by Jafar Jafari aka “Master Jeff”, an educator and entrepreneur. Daniel and Master Jeff discuss how we can get in “the zone” of our full potential and move to a higher level while overcoming fear, failure, and adversities along the way. They also share the most important things we need to succeed in our journey and how to use them so we can advance ourselves, namely: imagination, mindset, and action.   There's almost nothing more important than momentum. And it doesn't just mean getting some initial traction, but keeping it going. Tune in and learn the art of getting back on track fast!
