In this conversation, former Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy discusses the current state of the Democratic Party, the challenges faced by President Biden, and the impact of Donald Trump on American politics. He emphasizes the need for authenticity in political leadership and critiques the Democratic Party's approach to candidate selection. McCarthy also reflects on Trump's governance style and the controversies surrounding his administration, advocating for a more strategic and principled approach to politics. McCarthy also discusses various themes including leadership during crises, the transformation of the Republican Party under Trump, ethics in Congress, his personal journey in politics, healthcare and economic policies, America's future challenges, and historical parallels to current events. He emphasizes the importance of understanding the complexities of leadership and the need for accountability, while also expressing optimism about America's potential and the significance of its foundational ideas. Takeaways The Democrats are currently lost and need to reevaluate their strategies. Trump has significantly shifted the Republican base, especially among Hispanic voters. Kamala Harris's nomination was a strategic misstep for the Democrats. The outcome of the last election hinged on key states like Pennsylvania. Democrats should stop pre-selecting candidates and allow grassroots movements to emerge. Authenticity is crucial for political leaders to connect with voters. Voters are frustrated with the failure of political parties to solve problems. Trump's approach resonates with those who feel ignored by the political establishment. Boeing's handling of the presidential plane situation reflects larger issues in governance. Political leaders must understand the importance of negotiation and setting the right expectations. The role of leadership is crucial in crisis management. Trump's approach has transformed the Republican Party's identity. Ethics and accountability are vital in political leadership. Personal experiences shape political aspirations and decisions. Healthcare policies must consider work requirements for Medicaid. Economic policies should focus on middle-income benefits. America's identity is rooted in its foundational ideas. Democracy can be messy but is essential for progress. Historical lessons can inform current political strategies. Unanswered aggression can lead to further conflict. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The hypocrisy of focusing on J6 pardons, DHS memo on extremists, OMG outs another Deep Stater, collateral ICE and Trump to WEF

Today opens with an examination of the hard-court press to make the pardoning of the J6 defendants seem like the worst move in political history. It's not even close to reality, but let's go through it. James O'Keefe once again finds a willing dupe who falls for the age-old “honeypot” scheme to spill the beans on the Deep State. There is a move to thwart Trump, and therefore, the American people. They must all be rooted out and purged from government. And, while they are trying to be cute about it, changing DEI titles and funneling billions in taxpayer dollars is going to be caught and exposed. Even former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy was on NBC showing a bit of spine and intestinal fortitude. CNN's Dana Bash seems unable to comprehend “collateral” arrests in sanctuary cities/states. So, Border Czar, Tom Homan, explains it clearly and concisely. Not surprisingly, Bash seems to lack the rudimentary intelligence necessary to understand. President Trump address the WEF today and it was glorious. He informed them we are done with the “Green New Scam,” freedom of speech is back and the U.S. was going to be an economic powerhouse in the world again. A pastor from Detroit weighed-in on the terrible, woke, nonsense the female Bishop waged at Donald Trump. CNN has lost almost half of it's net worth from 2021 to 2023 and announced 200 layoffs today. Congressman Loudermilk (R-GA) just found out his committee would be promoted to Select Committee status, giving them much more power and authority to find out what really happened on January 6, 2021 and the J6 Reality TV Show. Finally, we give props to Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) who said he plans to vote for Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense. That guy continues to impress, even if he dresses in hoodies and shorts. Donald Trump is riding high in the polls as of this podcast's recording, and while everyone knows that polls can be wrong, they can't be that wrong can they? Harris seems to be lagging in almost all the swing states, and her constant messaging that Trump is a fascist just doesn't seem to be hitting home. Even blunders such as having a roast-comic taking a swipe at Puerto Ricans at his rallies doesn't seem to make a dent in Trump's bed of support. For an in-depth, and broadly bipartisan analysis of the last 24 hours, Piers Morgan interviews former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, who interestingly supports Trump but definitively rules out working with him. Then, Piers conducts a debate with political commentator Tim Pool, former Ohio Senate Member Nina Turner and star of DC's Shazam Zachery Levi. Hosted on Acast. The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (07/09/2024): 3:05pm- During a chaotic White House press briefing on Monday, reporters grilled Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre over a report that a Parkinson's disease specialist has visited the White House multiple times in recent months. Tuesday's presser didn't go much better. Jean Pierre blamed Biden's poor debate performance on a cold and emphasized it was not the result of a neurological disorder. She went on to explain that the president immediately visited North Carolina, Georgia, New York, and New Jersey—illustrating his strength. So, was he just spreading his germs to potential voters? Despite spending a considerable amount of time attempting to claim President Biden is in perfect health, Jean Pierre was unable to provide a reasonable explanation as to why a Parkinson's doctor has visited the White House so frequently. Is the White House participating in a massive cover-up? 3:25pm- In a new piece documenting White House aides hiding President Joe Biden's diminishing health from the public, the Wall Street Journal writes of one previously undocumented incident: “German officials, aware of Biden's fatigue at night, sought to accommodate the president by planning a June 2022 event with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in the early evening. The informal event, a soiree at the Alpine resort Schloss Elmau during the Group of Seven summit, was arranged as a confidential meeting on Ukraine in a relaxed setting. Biden didn't show, surprising the chancellor and his aides, officials said. Instead, Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived and announced that Biden had to go to bed, according to two people who were there.” You can read the full article here: https://www.wsj.com/politics/policy/joe-biden-age-public-election-campaign-343a47bf?mod=hp_lead_pos7 3:30pm- During Tuesday's press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre claimed that “if I have said, or misled in something that I have said—or I haven't had the full information, I actually own up to it.” But as Rich notes, she has participated in weeks and weeks of gaslighting—amounting to a cover-up. 3:45pm- At one point during Tuesday's White House press conference, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked: “Say the Pentagon, at some point, picks up an incoming nuke—it's 11pm. Who do you call? The First Lady?” 4:05pm- In his latest opinion article for The Wall Street Journal, former Counsel to the Chairman of the Federal Election Commission Charlie Spies writes: “If [President Joe] Biden drops out before the Democratic Party formally makes him its nominee, then Federal Election Commission rules dictate that no more than $2,000 of any campaign funds that he raised may be transferred to any other candidate, including [Vice President Kamala] Harris.” You can read the full op-ed here: https://www.wsj.com/articles/biden-has-100-million-reasons-to-stay-in-election-finance-d8a2dfdf?mod=opinion_lead_pos5 4:20pm- While speaking with Sean Hannity on Fox News, presumptive Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump suggested that if Democrats remove Joe Biden at the top of their ticket it'll be Kamala Harris that takes his place. 4:30pm- Daniel Chaitlin of The Daily Wire reports: “President Joe Biden formally rejected on Monday a bill in Congress that would require individuals to show proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in elections for federal office. A policy statement from the Biden administration said it ‘strongly opposes' the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which was introduced by Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) earlier this year and is expected to get a vote in the Republican-led House as early as this week, but did not mention the prospect of a veto.” You can read the full article here: https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-formally-opposes-bill-requiring-voters-prove-citizenship?topStoryPosition=3 4:50pm- Who will Donald Trump pick to be his running mate? Doug Burgum? Marco Rubio? J.D. Vance? Plus, why is Matt not invited to the White House Easter Egg Roll? 5:05pm- House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, and Congresswoman Veronica Escobar reiterated their support for President Joe Biden's reelection campaign when asked by the press. Notably, Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal said “she's not here to give advice” to her colleagues and that discussions about Biden's ability to serve as president for another four-years should be made in “private.” 5:15pm- J.D. Tuccille of Reason.com writes that “the New York State government agreed to subsidize news media.” He continues: “With audiences declining for news reports, many very concerned people have called on governments to do something to prop up outlets failing to win enough public support to keep the lights on. That something comes in the form of money unlikely to win back an indifferent public but that stabilizes employment prospects for reporters. The result may be that journalists will cater to state officials rather than woo readers and viewers.” You can read the full article here: https://reason.com/2024/07/08/if-you-dont-trust-media-now-wait-until-its-government-funded/ 5:35pm- Former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy said that it was not uncommon for First Lady Jill Biden to attend meetings with President Joe Biden. 5:40pm- At one point during Tuesday's White House press conference, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked: “Say the Pentagon, at some point, picks up an incoming nuke—it's 11pm. Who do you call? The First Lady?” 5:55pm- A New York Times article suggests that Kamala Harris' team is already looking into potential running mates should Joe Biden step aside, making her the nominee. The Harris team's shortlist includes Governors Josh Shapiro (PA), Andy Beshear (KY), and Roy Cooper (NC). 6:05pm- Things go off the rails quickly in the six o'clock hour: Matt says pizza from Italy is overrated, a man collected every single Wawa sandwich receipt numbered 0 to 999, and Rep. Cori Bush is still crazy. 6:15pm- While appearing on The View, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer confirmed that she would support Kamala Harris were she to become the Democrat party's presidential nominee. 6:20pm- CNN Political Director David Chalian examined polling data post-presidential debate, revealing: “Pre-debate, Donald Trump had a two-point edge in a poll...49% to 47%. That's a pretty close race. You see post-debate Donald Trump has stayed the same. He didn't grow his support with the debate, but Joe Biden took on some water. He is down to 44%. And that's a five-point lead in the poll for Donald Trump…But we are now talking about the light blue states, perhaps Minnesota, Virginia, New Mexico that are leaning Democratic.” He also explained that Trump now has a 10% advantage with independent voters.  6:35pm- First Lady Jill Biden now has her own entrance music…and it's just as terrible as you're imagining. One caller suggests it sounds like something Oompa Loompas would dance to. Hey look! There is Augustus Gloop! 6:40pm- While speaking before the House Financial Services Committee, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen denied that Joe Biden's cabinet members have ever considered invoking the 25th Amendment to replace him.

Today, The Two Mikes again spoke with Nate Cain, a Republican candidate for a U.S. congressional seat in the northern panhandle district of West Virginia. During his campaign, Mr. Cain has clocked nearly 70,000 miles on his car and says that he has been greeted all across his district with enthusiasm from an electorate that is sick to death of corruption in the state and national political systems. He also noted that that his candidacy has been ignored by much of the state's media, which seems to be under the thump of certain wealthy families, such as that of Mr. Cain's opponent -- a man named Riley Moore --who has been exposed as a former Vice-President of a lobbying group called The Podesta Group, which is headed by Hillary Clinton's lickspittle John Podesta. Moore also was registered as a lobbyist for foreign countries. He also has been a longtime employee on Capitol Hill, working closely with former and now-deposed Republican Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, and has an aunt who is a well-known RINO Republican U.S. Senator from West Virginia. By and large, though, Mr. Cain said that the West Virginia media are ignoring Riley Moore's checkered background, which is an odd resume for a man who is loudly proclaiming that he is a former welder and grassroots conservative Republican. (NB: The Two Mikes should note that we were slicked by Riley Moore when he was the West Virginia treasurer. He was our guest on 4 or 5 occasions posing as a grassroots conservative, but never mentioned his long record of working and cooperating with the swamp known on Capitol Hill.) Mr. Cain also noted that he continues to work hard to inform West Virginians that the large battery-making factory planned for the congressional district in which he is running, may pose a significant environmental threat to the northern part of the state and the rivers therein. Oddly, the team bringing the plant into the state received an environmental waiver from the U.S. Congress before the first brick was laid. This project, moreover, was brought to West Virginia by John Podesta and a group of investors that includes Mark Zuckerburg, George Soros, the Blackrock Company, Bill Gates, and Jeff Bezos. And, oh yes, Riley Moore voted for a $115million  grant to this project from the West Virginia government.Subscribe to Freedom First Network on Rumble to watch all of our shows LIVE: https://rumble.com/c/freedomfirstnetworkElevate your meals with Freedom First Beef… even if you find yourself in the middle of the apocalypse! Today, The Two Mikes spoke with Nate Cain, a true Republican candidate for Congress from West Virginia's 2nd congressional district. The interview turned out to be a humdinger and a bit lengthy, so we are publishing in two parts. Mr. Cain is an Army veteran, and also has been a civilian employee of the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Marine Corps, and the FBI. While working for the FBI, Mr. Cain became one of the most important whistle-blowers we have ever heard of. During his FBI tenure 2017-2018, Nate saw FBI documents that showed that then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, her associates in Obama's regime – at the highest levels, such as two FBI Directors and other senior DOJ officials, and major Clinton donors – had behaved treasonously, and otherwise criminally via money-laundering, “pay-to-play”, and illegal transfers of uranium to Russia. Mr. Cain took the documents to Congressman Devin Nunes and received whistle-blower protection under the law, but the FBI fired him and raided his home, taking his electronic devices and deeply upsetting his wife and children. Giving enormous credence to Mr. Cain's claims about the nature of the information he delivered to Nunes is that fact that he still holds his security clearances, showing that he acted legally and truthfully by getting the documents to Congress, and that the FBI, DOJ, the Clintons and the Obamas knew that and feared if the issue was not buried “it could bring down the whole government.” In his congressional race in West Virginia's 2nd district, Mr. Cain stands as center-right Republican with a Christian perspective on the world, and says he is determined to fight the neo-fascist corporatism that is now abroad in his state and the nation. He has been conducting a grass roots, very localized campaign to get his message out, so far clocking 60,000 miles on the family car in the effort. After he entered the race, members of the Republican caucus in the state's legislature asked him to drop out in favor of his opponent. His opponent is Riley Moore, the nephew of Republican U.S. Senator Moore Capito. Mr. Cain refused and afterward found it nearly impossible to schedule any radio interviews in the state. The refusals from radio programs included the biggest radio voice in the state, one that covers every county in West Virginia. Why, well the Moore family is plenty wealthy and former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy was quick to endorse Riley Moore immediately as soon as he entered the race. There still seems to be RINO's rampant in West Virginia.  Mr. Cain's opponent, Riley Moore, was West Virginia's treasurer and won applause – including from The Two Mikes, for which we humbly offer this mea culpa for getting slicked – for fighting the attempt of banks to enforce their ESG rules against energy companies in West Virginia. Mr. Cain spent the second half of the program suggesting quite strongly that Mr. Moore may not be the conservative he claims to be. Before returning to West Virginia, Mr. Cain alleged Mr. Moore worked in Washington as a “Registered Foreign Agent” that is he was a lobbyist of the Congress for the interests of foreign organizations and countries like Hong Kong, after its return to China, Somalia, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. He also worked with John and Tony Podesta, the later a noted collector of “art” showing children in unusual activities. He also worked with Tony Podesta in Ukraine where he helped Podesta's lobbying activities, but during which he was not registered as a “Foreign Agent”.Most recently, Moore has been associated with John Podesta to bring a large battery project to the northern part of West Virginia. The scoundrels behind this project are Bill Gates and George Soros and they have scrounged $290 million dollars in West Virginia taxpayer money for building facilities and manufacturing the batteries – Riley Moore through a proxy voted for $220 million-dollars of that amount. They also have already persuaded the U.S. Congress give them an exemption from a standing ban on Chinese technology and hardware for use in such projects, and an exemption from the Environmental Protection Agency from a ban meant to keep polluted water from the project being dumped into fresh waters, in this case the Ohio River. Shades of Palestine Ohio. The Gates-Soros team also refused to guarantee that most of the 750 jobs created by the project would go to West Virginians. On this Friday edition of Sid & Friends in the Morning, we baste the Bidens as they continue to be exposed for the utter criminals that they are. As they prepare to hopefully be "roasted" by the entire country, they for some reason still feel like it's a good idea to continue to blatantly lie to the faces of the American people. Hunter Biden belongs behind bars, and frankly so does his father and President Joe Biden. In other news of the day, somehow a rogue bull ended up on the tracks of New Jersey Transit yesterday, Republicans make their pick to run against Democrat Tom Suozzi for the vacant seat former Congressman George Santos left, former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy bids farewell to Congress, and Shohei Ohtani dons the Dodger blue for the first time during his introductory press conference in Los Angeles yesterday. Curtis Sliwa, Andrew Ansbro, Andrew Giuliani, Joe Tacopina and Anthony D'Esposito join Sid on this Friday installment of Sid & Friends in the Morning. Learn more about your ad choices. The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (10/23/2023): 3:05pm- In a new editorial, center-left writer Matthew Yglesias argues that retail theft has become professionalized. Though progressive Democrats like Representative Alexandria Ocasio Cortez argue that shoplifting is done by the needy, Yglesias contends that narrative is inaccurate—with most retail theft being the result of criminals simply seeking an expedient way to attain money. The Washington Post notes that many cities are becoming “pharmacy deserts” with drugstore chains closing in major cities as a result of unchecked thefts. Kirby said he was “not blind to the potential concerns” but did not explain how the administration would guarantee Hamas did not derive financial benefit. 3:50pm- According to investigative reporter Jennie Taer of The Daily Caller, “[f]ederal officials are warning that members of Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and Hezbollah could be crossing through the southern border.” You can read the full report here: https://dailycaller.com/2023/10/22/hamas-hezbollah-southern-border/ 4:00pm- Rich is joined by 1210 WPHT producers Anthony and Dan who are at Citizen Bank Park ahead of tonight's Game 6 playoff matchup between the Philadelphia Phillies and Arizona Diamondbacks. The past two weeks have been a historical one for the House of Representatives. Last week, a band of dissident Republicans voted with House Democrats to remove Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, leaving the office vacant. In his stead, a never-before House rule turned to a secret list of temporary successors that identified Congressman Patrick McHenry as the new Speaker Pro Tempore. But what exactly he is able to do in this role—and what it means for Congress's ability to pass much needed legislation—is far from clear. To discuss this new predicament, Lawfare Senior Editor Scott R. Anderson sat down with Brookings Institution Senior Fellow and Lawfare Senior Editor Molly Reynolds. They talked about the history of the rule behind McHenry's appointment, what authority its authors intended for it to provide, and what it means for Israel, Ukraine, and the pending government shutdown.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/lawfare. This week on Rational Security, Alan, Quinta, and Scott were once again joined by Congress guru Molly Reynolds to discuss the week's big national security news, including:“Master of the House, Doling out the Harm, Ready with a Handshake and a Face Palm.” Over the weekend, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy narrowly avoided a government shutdown. But this week it cost him his speakership, as Democrats joined a bloc of far-right Republicans to vote in favor of a motion to vacate the office. What does this say about the state of the House? And what does it mean for the Biden administration's legislative agenda moving forward?“Serving Life to 20.” As the Supreme Court begins its new term under increased scrutiny for ethical lapses, several members of Congress have once again introduced legislation that would impose 18-year term limits on the Court's members. But would this proposal fix the problem? And is it constitutional?“A Foreign Confluence Operation.” Washington has been in a tizzy this week with scandalizing reports of an Iranian influence operation that purportedly sought to influence U.S. policy through several prominent scholars of Iranian descent—some of whom now serve in the Biden administration or are close to beleaguered Iran Special Envoy Rob O'Malley, whose security clearance is currently suspended. What should we make of this story? For object lessons, Alan gave a shout-out to the most recent incarnation of Dune and its soon-to-be-forthcoming sequel. Quinta urged listeners to check out the book “Your Face Belongs to Us,” the creepy-yet-true story of the growth of facial recognition technology and the rise of the start-up that sold it worldwide. This week, Alan, Quinta, and Scott were once again joined by Congress guru Molly Reynolds to discuss the week's big national security news, including:“Master of the House, Doling out the Harm, Ready with a Handshake and a Face Palm.” Over the weekend, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy narrowly avoided a government shutdown. And Scott recommended his favorite seasonal cookbook as we get into the cold weather months: Anna Thomas's “Love Soup.” Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

In a separate segment, CNN host Jim Acosta outlandishly claimed that the crisis at border was merely a Republican “talking point” and that there was no proof that the “border is open.” Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy slammed those comments noting that more than 10,000 migrants are crossing the Southern border and entering the United States every day. 4:10pm- According to reports, Target will close nine stores nationally in response to unmitigated thefts in major cities which have cost the retail store an estimated $700 million. 4:15pm- On November 30th, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) will debate California Governor Gavin Newsom in a 90-minute broadcast on Fox News. The agreement would include a reported $6 billion in additional aid for Ukraine. In response to the agreement, Sen. J.D. Vance tweeted: “This will certainly lead to a government shutdown. Democrats won't fix our border but will shut down the government unless we fund Ukraine. Disgraceful.” According to reports, Sen. Rand Paul may use Senate procedural tools to challenge the Ukrainian aid package—delaying the bill's arrival in the House of Representatives. Does the bill have any chance to pass in the House? It's likely Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy would need to rely on Democrat votes if he chose to bring the bill to the floor for a vote—which could ultimately result in a Republican-led challenge to his speakership. 5:20pm- In response to a potential government shutdown, President Joe Biden said: "Funding the government is one of the most basic fundamental responsibilities of Congress and if the Republicans in the House don't start doing their job, we should stop electing them." 5:30pm- Rich gains entrance to an elite fishing club—but he doesn't know how to fish.
