We present our review of The West Wing (Season 5)!The fifth season of the American political drama television series The West Wing aired in the United States on NBC from September 24, 2003, to May 19, 2004, and consisted of 22 episodes. This was the first season with executive producer John Wells as showrunner after series creator Aaron Sorkin departed the series at the end of the previous season. The fifth season had star billing for nine major roles, all of which were filled by returning main cast members from the fourth season. The cast was credited in alphabetical order except for Martin Sheen, who was listed last. Stockard Channing is only credited for the episodes in which she appears. The fifth season opens with First Daughter Zoey Bartlet being rescued from her abductors. President Bartlet takes the presidency back from acting president Walken, but is forced back into a level of powerlessness. He comes to terms with the actions that led to his daughter's kidnapping, a new Republican Speaker of the House (Walken has had to resign in order to assume the presidency) who forces Bartlet into several decisions he does not want to make, including the nomination of an unimpressive Democrat, "Bingo Bob" Russell, for vice president. The conflict with the new Speaker comes to a head in "Shutdown", when the Speaker tries to force the President into cutting federal spending more than had been agreed to and Bartlet refuses, forcing the federal government into a shutdown. Bartlet regains some of his power, cutting a deal to get a liberal Chief Justice, and season five ends with a bombing in Gaza leading Bartlet to push for Israeli peace talks and Josh to grow closer to Donna after she is critically wounded. The fifth season begins toward the end of Bartlet's first year of his second term (fifth year overall) in office. By the end of the season, over a year has elapsed.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

We present our The West Wing (Season 4) review! The fourth season of the American political drama television series The West Wing aired in the United States on NBC from September 25, 2002 to May 14, 2003 and consisted of 23 episodes. The fourth season covers the end of Bartlet's fourth year of his first term in office through the beginning of the first year of his second term. The season begins with the continuation of the election storyline with the president touring the nation and his staff trying to firm up presidential debates. The storyline ends in a clear victory for Bartlet less than halfway through the season in "Election Night". Other plots include Sam leaving the White House to run in a special election in California, the news of the Abdul Shareef assassination resonating both inside and outside the U.S., Will Bailey taking Sam's position after coming over from the California campaign's staff, the President and his staff facing the reality of an overseas genocide, and Vice President Hoynes being forced to resign after a sex scandal is uncovered. The fourth season ends with Bartlet's youngest daughter being taken hostage. Bartlet ends up invoking the 25th Amendment in the final episode, "Twenty Five." Since no one had been nominated to replace Hoynes, the presidency passes to the iron-willed conservative Republican Speaker of the House, Glen Allen Walken.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

Originally Uploaded January 17th, reloaded February 14th For Media Business Episode 81: Tony Conley has a three-part conversation welcoming Kyle Melinn is the owner and editor of MIRS News; Michigan's Leader In Public Policy News And Resources. It's where you can unlock the power of Michigan politics with MIRS.news. Their custom legislative monitoring system delivers real-time Capitol updates and insights, tailored to your priorities. Stay informed and effective in Lansing's fast-paced environment, whether you're a public official, staffer, or policy professional. All from the only Michigan owned, managed and operated Capitol news service! Questions included: What are your thoughts on the election of Donald Trump as President? What did you think of the statewide elections in Michigan? What do you expect in 2025 political news wise? What new laws in Michigan should we be focused on? Tony and Kyle discussed the political landscape in Michigan, focusing on the upcoming elections in 2025 and the potential legal challenges to new laws. They analyzed the reasons behind the flip in Michigan, attributing it to the Democrats' failure to effectively compete against both Donald Trump and the Republicans, and looked ahead to the upcoming chair elections for both parties. The conversation also touched on the potential cooperation between the new Republican Speaker of the House Matt Hall and Democratic Governor Whitmer, and the implications for future political runs. • Pete Hoekstra to assume role as Ambassador to Canada. • Republican Party to elect new chair at February 21, 2025 convention. • Democratic Party to elect new chair at February 21 or 22, 2025 convention. • Governor Whitmer to potentially begin making appearances in Iowa and New Hampshire for future presidential election considerations. • Governor Whitmer and Republican Speaker Matt Hall to establish working relationship and negotiate on legislative priorities. • Senate Majority Leader to present legislative agenda for consideration by the House and Governor. Michigan Political Landscape 2025 Discussion Tony and Kyle discussed the upcoming political landscape in Michigan for 2025. Tony invited Kyle to share his insights on new laws and measures, while also allowing for discussion on other political topics. Kyle, the owner and editor of MIRS, the Michigan Capital News service, and a columnist at the Lansing City pulse, was set to share his perspectives on the political scene. The conversation was expected to cover significant events and decisions from the previous year, with a focus on the return of Donald Trump and the Democrats' perceived failure. Disconnect Between Politicians and Voters Tony and Kyle discussed the outcome of the last political season, focusing on the disconnect between the politicians' goals and the voters' desires. Kyle suggested that Democrats failed to connect with voters by not tailoring their message to specific regions and not addressing the needs of men, particularly black men. Kyle concluded that Democrats didn't do badly overall, but they didn't win on the margins in some areas. Tony agreed with Kyle's analysis and suggested that a different strategy might have been more effective for the Democrats. Other discussions of this podcast got into Michigan Political Landscape Analysis, Legal Challenges to Signed Bills and Michigan Political Dynamics and Governor

Today, The Two Mikes again spoke with Nate Cain, a Republican candidate for a U.S. congressional seat in the northern panhandle district of West Virginia. During his campaign, Mr. Cain has clocked nearly 70,000 miles on his car and says that he has been greeted all across his district with enthusiasm from an electorate that is sick to death of corruption in the state and national political systems. He also noted that that his candidacy has been ignored by much of the state's media, which seems to be under the thump of certain wealthy families, such as that of Mr. Cain's opponent -- a man named Riley Moore --who has been exposed as a former Vice-President of a lobbying group called The Podesta Group, which is headed by Hillary Clinton's lickspittle John Podesta. Moore also was registered as a lobbyist for foreign countries. He also has been a longtime employee on Capitol Hill, working closely with former and now-deposed Republican Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, and has an aunt who is a well-known RINO Republican U.S. Senator from West Virginia. By and large, though, Mr. Cain said that the West Virginia media are ignoring Riley Moore's checkered background, which is an odd resume for a man who is loudly proclaiming that he is a former welder and grassroots conservative Republican. (NB: The Two Mikes should note that we were slicked by Riley Moore when he was the West Virginia treasurer. He was our guest on 4 or 5 occasions posing as a grassroots conservative, but never mentioned his long record of working and cooperating with the swamp known on Capitol Hill.) Mr. Cain also noted that he continues to work hard to inform West Virginians that the large battery-making factory planned for the congressional district in which he is running, may pose a significant environmental threat to the northern part of the state and the rivers therein. Oddly, the team bringing the plant into the state received an environmental waiver from the U.S. Congress before the first brick was laid. This project, moreover, was brought to West Virginia by John Podesta and a group of investors that includes Mark Zuckerburg, George Soros, the Blackrock Company, Bill Gates, and Jeff Bezos. And, oh yes, Riley Moore voted for a $115million  grant to this project from the West Virginia government.Subscribe to Freedom First Network on Rumble to watch all of our shows LIVE: https://rumble.com/c/freedomfirstnetworkElevate your meals with Freedom First Beef… even if you find yourself in the middle of the apocalypse! It wasn't on purpose, but bipartisanship and moderation ended up being the themes of this episode of Plain Talk. Whether we're talking about a Republican Speaker of the House, under siege from the MAGA wing of his own party, reaching out to Democrats to get things done, or democracy engaging on the issue of abortion now that the Roe v. Wade precedent has been overturned, it's clear that process matters. And when we engage in the process, and we have the debates, and we don't let ourselves be derailed by all the various flavors of theatrical obstructionism, the outcomes we get are further from what the extremes might want, and closer to what most of us can live with. Co-host Chad Oban and I talk about renewed controversy about delegate votes at the NDGOP state convention and whether U.S. House candidate Rick Becker's promises to help contribute to the chaos in Congress if elected is going to help him with North Dakota voters. We asked the guest for this show, Sen. Kevin Cramer, about that last point. "I think it's consistent with how Rick Becker has behaved in the Legislature," he said, arguing that Becker's campaign trail posturing is authentic. "It might be a good tactic to being the largest vote getter in a five-way race, he added. But also, "the House doesn't really need more bulls in a China closet," Cramer added. Howie Klein has been doing a weekly segment on my show for more than a dozen years now. He and I first met some 30+ years ago on Los Angeles where I was doing (really great) music radio and he was President of Reprise Records. When Howie exited the music biz, he turned his energies toward getting real progressives elected to office. He began blogging at DownWithTyranny.com. In 2006, Howie joined forces with Heather "Digby" Parton of Digby's Hullabaloo (digbysblog.net) and John Amato of CrooksandLiars.com. They created the Blue America PAC, enlisting the help of Jacquie Propps (@Jacqrat) to help with the organizational aspects of running a PAC. Jaquie wrote "Fighting The Right Wing Since 2006" for the Blue America blog to reacquaint the blogosphere with Blue America, now in its 18th year. (Read it at https://blueamerica.crooksandliars.co...) We agreed that with the most consequential election season of our lives underway, this would be a good time to get some of the players together to recognize the work they do and shine a spotlight on this year's group of Blue America endorsed candidates. So, joining Howie and me today -- Digby, of course. And Tom Maxwell. Huh? Tom Maxwell is a musician. You probably know him from his time with the Squirrel Nut Zippers. In 2006, Tom contributed a song, "Have You Had Enough?" --sung by Rickie Lee Jones - to one of the first Blue America campaigns, that one to oust the predatory Republican Speaker of the House Denny Hastert. It was a success and the campaign was a hit. And the rest, as they say, is history! They'll all join in at around the 30 minute mark. But we'll start with some news and memories spurred by the news that OJ Simpson has died. [00:30] Dems Scheme to Gain Control of the House (14 minutes) Rep. Mike Gallagher carefully timed his retirement from the House of Representatives so that Wisconsin cannot fill his position until November, meaning that Republican Speaker of the House Mike Johnson now only has a 1-vote majority. RINOs in the House are scheming with Democrats to steal the 2024 presidential election from Donald Trump. [14:30] Media: Trump Is Poor and Unsuccessful (29 minutes) A New York appeals court has reduced Donald Trump's bond from $454 million to $175 million. The current media hot take is that Trump is poor and unsuccessful—but the numbers show his personal wealth is still substantial and his support base is expanding, especially among American evangelicals. A recent article from Rolling Stone says the quiet part out loud, admitting that the Biden administration is building a “superstructure” to keep Trump from winning the presidency. [43:40] Daniel in the Lion's Den (11 minutes) Daniel didn't let an official prayer ban and the threat of a death sentence interfere with his daily prayer routine. God always provides a way of escape in our fiery trials.

SERIES 2 EPISODE 142: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:42) SPECIAL COMMENT: He said “it's going to be a blood bath for the country” – and we're arguing about it. NOT “a blood bath for our auto industry.” NOT “a blood bath for the imported car market.”  NOT “a blood bath for Toyota-Thon 2024." “A blood bath for the country” – with no retraction or repudiation by Trump of, say, bloodbaths - and we – the people trying to STOP him – WE are ARGUING about it. Amongst ourselves. AND Trump is broke; he tells the court THIRTY insurance underwriters wouldn't cover his 464 million dollar bond in the New York Fraud case and we're still supposed to believe he's a billionaire. AND suddenly he's a billionaire pleading poverty and, boom, who just reappeared out of nowhere? Paul Manafort, the international money spigot and Russian operative. AND I'm still more concerned about THIS: Where is Jack Smith, demanding that Judge Tonya Chutkan revoke Trump's bail and incarcerate him after he violated the gag order in the Election Subversion case and maligned, threatened, and encouraged OTHERS to malign and threaten Cassidy Hutchinson – and not just OTHERS, but federal officers – federal officers who carry guns: “Our great Secret Service has totally CRUSHED Cassidy Hutchinson's (who I barely knew) made up (FAKE!) stories about me roughing up Secret Service Agents from the back seat of the Beast (Limo). Has she now changed her testimony? Will she be prosecuted for what she did and said?”  Trump didn't just violate the gag order – pared down in appeal but still preventing Trump and his counsel quote “from making or directing others to make public statements about known or reasonably foreseeable witnesses concerning their potential participation in the investigation or in this criminal proceeding,” unquote – pared down but clearly barring Trump from even SPECULATING that a likely witness such as Hutchinson fabricated evidence or might be PROSECUTED, AND clearly barring Trump from congratulating the Secret Service for having quote “totally crushed” her, AND barring Trump from trying to coerce her with questions like “has she now changed her testimony?, AND FOR THAT MATTER barring Trump from making public statements about OTHER possible witnesses – like members of the Secret Service. This isn't legal nuance. This isn't novel lawyerly theory. This isn't Trump's first violation, either. I want his bail revoked TODAY. I want his ass in jail TODAY. I want his lawyers to have to try to find a Supreme Court judge willing to spring him TODAY. B-Block (25:16) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: MAGA will now start snorting asbestos. The RNC chair says nobody was better off four years ago under Trump. So proud of our NYC Mayor. Tommy Tuberville holds the Constitution upside down. ANOTHER Republican calls her "Lincoln Riley." John Avlon misspells his own name. And a Lauren Boebert Bible Blooper. (32:04) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: The SF Giants fire their beloved PA announcer legend Renel Brooks-Moon and claim it was a "mutual decision." Kristi Noem is THIS close to selling lingerie. And the Republican National Committee sees a guy walking next to President Biden and calls him Biden's "handler." Actually he's the Republican Speaker of the House. C-Block (38:10) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: The first rule of Fox and The New York Post and other Murdoch "news" outlets: When your baby Hitler is in trouble because he threatened a bloodbath, find a false equivalence somewhere. Take something somebody said – or that somebody didn't say – and hold them up and call make them the equivalent of Trump and call it. Call it a “Blue Bloodbath” - and guess who they found? Guess who they are equating with Trump? ME. I'M the blue bloodbath. They claimed I hinted at his assassination when in fact I hinted at him dying in prison. They've been doing this since 1996 and intensely after I outsmarted Rupert Murdoch for $800,000 in 2001 and if you think $800,000 means nothing to Rupert Murdoch, you ain't met him.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 1: Luke Broadwater, of The New York Times, writes: “Representative Tom Emmer of Minnesota, the No. 3 House Republican, on Tuesday secured his divided party's nomination to be speaker, after five rounds of secret balloting to break a deadlock that has left Congress leaderless and paralyzed for three weeks. But the narrow margin of his victory reflected that House Republicans were still deeply at odds, and a swift backlash from the right, including from former President Donald J. Trump, suggested his candidacy was in peril. Immediately following his nomination, about two dozen right-wing Republicans indicated that they did not intend to vote for Mr. Emmer on the floor, denying him the majority he would need to succeed in a vote of the full House.” Emmer won the internal Republican vote 117 to 97. You can read Broadwater's full report here: https://www.nytimes.com/live/2023/10/24/us/house-speaker-vote/house-speaker-election?smid=url-share In response to Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) winning the Republican nomination for House speaker, Donald Trump posted to his Truth Social account: “I have many wonderful friends wanting to be Speaker of the House, and some are truly great Warriors. RINO Tom Emmer, who I do not know well, is not one of them. He never respected the Power of a Trump Endorsement, or the breadth and scope of MAGA—MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! He fought me all the way, and actually spent more time defending Ilhan Omar, than he did me—He is totally out-of-touch with Republican Voters. I believe he has now learned his lesson, because he is saying that he is Pro-Trump all the way, but who can ever be sure? Has he only changed because that's what it takes to win? The Republican Party cannot take that chance, because that's not where the America First Voters are. Voting for a Globalist RINO like Tom Emmer would be a tragic mistake!” On Tuesday, House majority whip Tom Emmer was selected as the next Republican nominee for speaker. However, a decade ago, Emmer was an advocate for implementing a national popular vote—ostensibly eliminating the electoral college. Does this past advocacy disqualify him from the speakership? You can watch Emmer advocate for a national popular vote to determine the presidency in an August 2011 interview with Triad Strategies: https://vimeo.com/28012929 Henry plays horrific return music that gets Rich even more fired up—evidently Rich doesn't like T.L.C. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich calls out rebel caucus after its' ousting of Kevin McCarthy from speakership. Gingrich comments that the main challenge for the next speaker moving forward will be to unite the vary factions of the Republican Party, many who are in Democratic heavy districts. Saying, “the fact that 96% of the Republicans voted for Kevin McCarthy tells you something about McCarthy's real strength and what he delivered. And the fact that eight republicans, [who] were outnumbered 24-to-1, eight Republicans decided they were so pure, so smart, so patriotic, that they could side with the Democrats to defeat the Republican Speaker, and still pretend that they're Republicans, it poses a huge problem for the party. The margin is so narrow, that if [the new speaker is] going to get up every morning, knowing that eight guys feel comfortable trying to destroy you. How are you going to govern? They have psychologically made the Democratic leader, the Speaker of the House.”See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
