Sorry for the delay, but there was a bit of computer wrangling and software & editing frustration getting this episode out. But we're back with an episode jam-packed to the brim with gamey goodness! We've got all the important news stories - Master Chief getting his cheeks out and then getting his game on in the new Halo show, Inafune's descent into NFTs, and Kojima's ascent into...a Death Stranding sunglasses collection? We also go over some actual games, along with breaking down Activision's "Diversity" Tool. ...Yeah, it's not great. Enjoy! John and Maverick are back this week to go deep into Xenoblade Chronicles and Multiversus. In the news, Death Stranding is getting a sequel and Silent Hill is leaking a little bit. EA almost got sold to Universal, WATA Games is being sued by the government, and Blizzard released their "Diversity calculator" explaining how they go about designing characters or something? I don't know, it makes no sense. In the funny side of things, their is a bunch of stuff happening with Inafune and NFT's and we're trying to parse it all and can't stop laughing.
It's two episodes in one this week as I bust up 16 robots masters and one evil scientist that won't quit! It's Mega Man II and Mega Man III! A lot of talk about why Mega Man II is one of the best NES games out there, the troubled history of Mega Man III and why it made Inafune the great designer we know him as today. In this bonus episode Adam is joined by Brian Miller from the Play Your Way podcast to discuss our play through of the 'Honey, I Shrunk the Kids' set in Hyrule: Zelda Minish Cap. We chat all things Zelda and off topic such as: the Spaceworld 2000 and 2001 Wind Waker controversy, relying on walkthroughs, people who insult the things you love, gamer entitlement, Nintendo Directs, and the Mass Effect 3 ending (of all things). So put on your cap, shrink down to our level, and let's talk.
Bad controls, lame spike traps, awful levels and terrible gameplay. No we're not playing Mega Man X6 again. This time Pete and Jeremy tackle the juggernaut of bad press known as Mighty No. 9

Comin' at ya! Another week another episode of Rated G. More NX rumors begin to solidify, Inafune corrects his statement about Mighty No. 9 from earlier in the week, Xbox Scorpio and PS4 Neo go head to head in specs, and some new Sonic games announced for 2017. All that and we discuss our garage sale centric weekend.
One Tap Tennis seems to have gotten a hold of everyone this week because Brian starts his Under Your Thumb with the game. It's a much tougher than he had first thought. Then he got more time with Doom on the PS4, thanks to Anthony, and there is a lot to say. Speaking of Anthony, he's up next, but only with one game this week, Witcher 3. The gang agrees, the game still looks beautiful. Justin throws some surprises this week. Yet another tower defense game, Toy Defense, is Justin's opening game. We all groan, but he is confident it is a great version of the game. We'll see... His first real surprise, LA Cops. Justin's memories of the game from PAX East 2015 were positive, yet playing it now... not so much, sadly. He wraps up with another PAX East 2015 game, White Night. A game he wanted to not like, but loved. Gray ends this week's Under Your Thumb and he's played XCOM: Enemy Within and Trials of the Blood Dragon. One there is better than the other. But which? A lot going on in the Drunken News on the Nintendo side this week. We discuss more Zelda: Breath Of The Wild news and more NX news. We've also got Might No.9's failure, Halo 5: Guardians Warzone Firefight update, and the Sonic Team working on a new game. The Drunken Show Notes: Monolith Is Helping Work On The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Nintendo explains why Breath of the Wild is coming to NX and Wii U Nintendo brings in its biggest team ever to work on Breath of the Wild Nintendo NX: GameStop Comments on Possibility of Physical Media Overwatch Servers Went Down After Alleged DDoS Attack Red Dead, GTA Publisher Take-Two is Interested in Nintendo NX Patent suggests a PS4 Elite controller is in the works All footage in Breath of the Wild trailer was Aonuma playing Inafune says launch version of Mighty No.9 'is better than nothing' Halo 5: Guardians Warzone Firefight Update Preview Sonic Team Working on a "Completely New Game" Nintendo NX Cartridges Mentioned In Patent Documents Creep us on Facebook Stalk us on Twitter Or throw us that review on iTunes or Stitcher Questions, comments, concerns? ¿Qué opinamos de The Banner Saga 2?
We're dancing, swinging, and raging at Inafune.Donald makes no apologies for the intro to episode 66, nor any of the many games contained within. He kicks off a nearly all-September New Business with the demo for The Legend of Legacy, a game that somehow got localized along with its spiritual predecessor where eight Dragon Quest 3DS games wouldn't. A rapid fire discussion ends with one half of his NWR comparison feature, Hatsune Miku Project Mirai DX. But then he and Austen get down with the bear in Persona 4: Dancing All Night, which taught them the joy of bonds and the horror of "cubstep". After a couple of quick games on the PS4, the crew migrates to the PC to try out the demo for Mighty No 9 - and it went BADLY. For some more than others. Stephen provides actual Mega Man with recent PlayStation Network release Mega Man Legends before finishing a few weeks of old school with Pac Man Championship Edition DX+.Whatcha Watchin' has a few returning guests from Stephen with Doctor Who's latest series, a followup from last episode with The Awesomes and a quick hit of Elementary. The main event is Austen's look at the recent BluRay release of Fullmetal Alchemist - which Donald did start watching, but only 1-2 episodes at a shot so his impressions will be delayed. Donald *did* finish Vision of Escaflowne, and finds it needs more psychopath.Three weeks is a long time to go without news, so following an examination of Tokyo Game Show including the Persona 5 delay (LOVE IS OVER~) we discuss the joys of Star Citizen, other game delays and the return of the Jill Sandwich possibly coming sometime in the future. (The union voted 96% in favour of a second vote to strike if talks break down again.) In the Mushrooms, we avoid the Wheel of Morality on a technicality and Activision gets raked over the coals, while Donald's 1up has stayed alive for another day.Why not give us an email if there's something you want us to look into? You can drop it here, tweet @nfrpodcast or send us an email! This podcast was recorded on October 4 and edited by Donald Theriault.
Between Mega Man games Inafune and a team from Capcom made a hybrid action/stealth title for the PS2 that re-created solving the murder of Julius Caesar. It released in February 2005, just one month before God of War, and provided one of the funniest, craziest, and most challenging game clubs we've tackled to date. Join Fred, Jam, and special guest Trees from EZMU as they conquer Shadow of Rome.

This week the crew includes the "core four" Nick, Kevin, Rob C and "Handsome" Rob Stoffel. They talk about Saints Row 4, Diablo 3 on consoles and A Realm Reborn Final Fantasy XIV. Well Rob C tried to talk about FF XIV but was interrupted by three haters. The boys then turn to the news of the week. Mostly Nintedo's Wii U price drop, the 2DS and Reggie. We also find out the "Handsome" and Kevin hate Nintendo thus have no souls. The boys are indifferent towards Inafune's Mighty no 9 Kickstarter and EA saying they are not picking sides. There is PAX talk, but mostly how they are planning to attend PAX for the wrong reasons. This week's topic is naming the podcast. Hear as Rob C almost kills himself and the utter depression that four grown men can't think of any name better than The Gamecocks (Gamecast).
