La ContraHistoria
Roma se divierte

La ContraHistoria

Play Episode Listen Later Nov 29, 2024 64:23

My Favourite Takeaway: S1 EP6 - Big HasThis week we are joined by the brilliant chef and presenter, Big Has. He invited us to his home to enjoy his favourite local takeaway from Antepliler in Harringay, North London. Enjoy!BIO:He didn't like school, he tried being a security guard at the Hayward gallery and he gave plumbing a go… but nothing quite got him like cooking. After graduating from Jamie Oliver's 15 program back in 2011 Hasan ( or Big Has as he's most affectionately known) went on to spend the next 10 years in and out of kitchens all over London. Perfecting pasta at Palatino, grilling meats at Sardine, Hasan is half Turkish Cypriot and half proper North Londoner. Recently he is best known for his very successful YouTube series Sunday Sessions which has amassed a great following in a short amount of time having only launched in January 2021. Its all about the food (And some beautiful camera work) as he takes beautiful ingredients and cooks them up in his back garden come rain or shine, served with a side of Has' signature charisma. Please rate and review. Thanks, Tom and Cimran. Get in touch with the show:Email: HELLO@MYFAVOURITETAKEAWAYPODCAST.COMTwitter: @FavtakeawaypodInstagram: myfavouritetakeawaypodcastA 'Keep It Light Media' Production Sales, advertising, and general enquiries: hello@keepitlightmedia.comABOUT THE SHOW:My Favourite Takeaway is the brand new food and comedy podcast series hosted by comedian and takeaway addict Tom Craine (Drunk History, Russell Howard's Good News, Last Leg: Correspondents), and his similarly food obsessed friend Cimran Shah. Each week our hosts will head into the home of a celebrity guest, to share their favourite takeaway with them… EXACTLY as they'd normally have it! From Peruvian street food slouched on James Acaster's huge L-Shaped sofa, to an Antiguan feast on Andi Oliver's best bone china, via a hushed Indian Takeaway in Tom Allen's back garden (“the neighbours kid goes to sleep at 8, sorry!”), My Favourite Takeaway is the show for anyone who loves food, but can't always be bothered to cook it!Each meal will provide a chance to share hilarious food stories, reveal tales of takeaway disasters (“there was a footprint baked into the f***ing pizza!”), gain unique insights into the guests lives (through the medium of takeaways!) and come clean about embarrassing takeaway truths. Because let's face it: we all have them! Perhaps you're a dip hoarder, a massive over-orderer or a reluctant sharer? Does the thickness of a prawn cracker keep you awake at night? Maybe you agree with Josh Widdicombe when he says “only idiots order rice with a curry”? Or have you ever rummaged in the bin to see if your partner has “missed a bit”? (Ellie Taylor has!). And best of all: it'll be a chance to shed light on some of the best independent takeaways the UK has to offer... and exactly which dishes you should be making it your mission to try.Series 1 of My Favourite Takeaway guests include… Andi Oliver, Josh Widdicombe, Ed Gamble, Tom Allen, Ellie Taylor, Phil Wang, Dr Annie Gray, Big Has, and James Acaster! Tom Craine is a comedian and writer whose current Radio 4 sitcom ‘ReincarNathan' was nominated for two ARIA Awards and a BBC Audio Drama Award. Cimran Shah is a BAFTA nominated TV producer, who has produced shows such as The Last Leg and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

E molto altroASCOLTA L'AUDIO!BREVI NOTE BIOGRAFICHE DEGLI AUTORIAlberto Fiz critico d'arte, curatore di mostre e giornalista specializzato in arte e mercato dell'arte. This podcast covers New Girl Season 2, Episode 14, Pepperwood, which originally aired on January 22, 2013 and was written by Nick Adams and directed by Lynn Shelton. Here's a quick recap of the episode:Nick is worried for Jess after he reads a student's story while Winston finds out about his “Pogo” which prompts Schmidt and the rest of the loftmates to obsessively want to know what their pogo is as well.We discuss Pop Culture References such as:“I'm So Excited” - Jess' cell phone ringtone throughout the episode is the song “I'm So Excited” by The Pointer Sisters. Audrey Hepburn - Jess thinks Schmidt looks like Audrey Hepburn after he removed part of his eyebrows. Additional Pop Culture References such as:(Chicago) Bears - Once, Winston's penis accidentally changed the channel while the loft was watching the Bears game. The Chicago Bears are a professional American football team based in Chicago in the National Football League (NFL). The Bears have won nine NFL Championships, including one Super Bowl, and have also recorded more victories than any other NFL franchise. The Cranberries - When Jess was trying to convince Edgar she wasn't scared, she imitated singing in the style of Dolores O'Riordan from the band The Cranberries. The Cranberries were an Irish rock band formed in Limerick, Ireland and ranked as one of the best-selling alternative acts of the 1990s. Dolores O'Riordan had one of the most recognizable voices in rock and was known for her signature yodel. Instead of a single “Schmidtism” we share our favorite one-liners like how obsessed Schmidt is with his pogo and give an honorary mention to him dancing like a sea snake. For our “not in the 2020s” we discuss how Cece's personality is reduced to just her looks and for our “yes in the 2020s” we note how we like the loft's pogo for Nick is their concern for him. We also explore how Nick protecting Jess is partially in the not and the yes in the 2020s. We also give a brief look into Nate Corddry (Edgar), the guest star we feature in this episode. Also in this episode were the following guest stars who we do not discuss in the podcast: Marcelo Tubert (Martin), Matthew McCray (Benjamin), Yimmy Yim (Susie), and Marcia Ann Burrs (Old Woman / Edgars mom/partner).Additionally in the podcast, we discuss how while there isn't a book about a detective that solves zombie murders, there is a detective show and comic about a zombie solving murders: iZombie. We also mention how Julius Peppers is a defensive end for the Carolina Panthers of the NFL who played for the Chicago Bears from 2010 - 2013 which is likely the inspiration for Julius Pepperwood. Additionally, we mention how the student's name Edgar is a reference to Edgar Allan Poe.While not discussed in the podcast, we noted other references in this episode including:Jalopy - The loft said that Winston farts a little as he runs and they say he sounds like a jalopy. A jalopy is also known as a decrepit car that is often old and damaged and is in a barely functional state. Other slang terms used to describe such cars are terms like beater, clunker, hooptie, and banger.Palatino - When Nick is trying to avoid reading Edgar's story, he mocks the font and says that [Edgar] should have at least used Palatino. This is an old-style serif font that was designed by Hermann Zapf and released in 1949. It was named after an Italian calligrapher and is based on the humanist types of the Italian Renaissance. While most Renaissance typefaces have delicate proportions, Palatino has larger proportions that increase legibility. It was a font intended for use for headings and advertisements to be able to be read at a distance or printed at small sizes.Google - Nick tries to investigate Edgar after reading his story and begins by “google[ing] his name”. While this is a reference to Google, due to the popularity of the search engine, this proper noun has also become a transitive verb indicating the act of searching for something on the internet using Google. The first recorded usage was by the co-founder Larry Page in 1998 and the word was added to the Oxford English Dictionary and the Merriam-Webster Dictionary in 2006.Shish kebab [Shish-kabobed] - When Winston is apologizing to Schmidt, Schmidt mentions that Winston “basically shish-kabobed her”. A shish kebab is a meal in which there are skewers with grilled cubes of meat popular in Mediterranean cuisines. In English, the word kebab stands for shish kebab but outside of North America, there is a need to be more specific. The dish is traditionally made with lamb but can be made with various meats, poultry or fish. This episode got an 8/10 Rating from Kritika and a 7.5/10 from Kelly and we both had the same favorite character: Nick! Thanks for listening and stay tuned for Episode 15!Music: "Hotshot” by scottholmesmusic.comFollow us on Twitter, Instagram or email us at whosthatgirlpod@gmail.com!Website: https://smallscreenchatter.com/

We'll hear from Imran Mandani, who conjures up Godzilla, Kim Logan, who warns us that Oedipus Wrecks, and Gürschach, who take us on a tour of their Undead Empire. First though, let's start this set off with an amazing Pop and Neo-Soul artist who hails from Georgia — And I don't mean the state that sits between Alabama and South Carolina. SALIO SALIO hails from the Republic of Georgia, a place known to some for its harmonic scales and the birthplace of wine, but not by most. A remarkably gifted vocalist and composer from a young age, she decided to leave her home country and find her place in the wider world. .ugb-f853c6d .ugb-img{border-radius:30px}.ugb-f853c6d .ugb-feature__title{font-family:"Roboto Condensed",Sans-serif !important;font-weight:100 !important;letter-spacing:0.5px !important;color:#eeffb5;margin-bottom:14px !important}.ugb-f853c6d .ugb-feature__description{font-family:"Palatino Linotype",Palatino,Palladio,"URW Palladio L","Book Antiqua",Baskerville,"Bookman Old Style","Bitstream Charter","Nimbus Roman No9 L",Garamond,"Apple Garamond","ITC Garamond Narrow","New Century Schoolbook","Century Schoolbook","Century Schoolbook L",Georgia, serif !important;font-size:18px !important;color:#ffffff;margin-bottom:30px !important}.ugb-f853c6d .ugb-inner-block{text-align:left}.ugb-f853c6d.ugb-feature{background-color:#cf2e2e;background-attachment:fixed;background-image:url(https://www.indiecent-exposure.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/42474842_2366690783348133_3237109330507464704_n.jpg);background-position:center center;background-repeat:no-repeat;background-size:contain}.ugb-f853c6d.ugb-feature:before{background-color:#cf2e2e;opacity:0.3}@media screen and (min-width:768px){.ugb-f853c6d .ugb-feature__item{grid-template-columns:0.60fr 1.40fr !important}.ugb-f853c6d .ugb-img{border-radius:30px;width:750px;height:auto !important}}SALIOMoving to London and working with Andrew Hunt provided her with the Lost World EP and him with a Music Producer’s Guild Award for Breakthrough Producer of the Year. The title track of the EP then won 2nd place in the Unsigned Only Music Awards Pop Category the year after.Bass player, Deon Estus, of Wham! fame and platinum selling jazz saxophonist, Dean James, started making arrangements to meet. The natural beauty in her voice broke Dean’s heart, literally. Just days later he was in hospital for a quadruple bypass operation. SALIO; submitted photo. Tony Coluccio - a man who has worked with greats such as Bette Midler, Whitney Houston and Janet Jackson - then brought her to record in New York City. Tied in with a quick, secretive Sofar performance and a cameo at renowned Small’s Jazz Club, it seems that no matter where she goes, those who appreciate true musical ability will find her. IMRAN MANDANI Chicago native hip-hop recording artist, Imran Mandani, loves a good challenge; in the entertainment industry where only a handful of Asian Indians have reached mainstream success as comedians, musicians, or actors, the Windy City rapper and graphic designer enjoys carving his own path while evolving his brand. .ugb-be92195 .ugb-img{border-radius:30px}.ugb-be92195 .ugb-feature__title{font-family:"Roboto Condensed",

A lot of reasons for that, but probably the biggest is an onslaught of debilitating depression that affected nearly every area of my life. And with depression came doubts. And with doubts came delays. And then dust began to settle. Which depressed the fuck out of me even more. I’ve successfully battled this demon for, God, decades, and it hasn’t been this bad since way back in some very dark times. And I know I’m not alone out there. So many of my friends, especially my creative, artistic friends, fight the same demon, and this pandemic has been emotional quicksand. IMMUNE Immune is the marching band to either the apocalypse or redemption – take your pick. .ugb-f853c6d .ugb-img{border-radius:30px}.ugb-f853c6d .ugb-feature__title{font-family:"Roboto Condensed",Sans-serif !important;font-weight:100 !important;letter-spacing:0.5px !important;color:#eeffb5;margin-bottom:14px !important}.ugb-f853c6d .ugb-feature__description{font-family:"Palatino Linotype",Palatino,Palladio,"URW Palladio L","Book Antiqua",Baskerville,"Bookman Old Style","Bitstream Charter","Nimbus Roman No9 L",Garamond,"Apple Garamond","ITC Garamond Narrow","New Century Schoolbook","Century Schoolbook","Century Schoolbook L",Georgia, serif !important;font-size:18px !important;color:#ffffff;margin-bottom:30px !important}.ugb-f853c6d .ugb-inner-block{text-align:left}.ugb-f853c6d.ugb-feature{background-color:#cf2e2e;background-attachment:fixed;background-image:url(https://www.indiecent-exposure.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/1356316662_Color.jpg);background-position:center center;background-repeat:no-repeat;background-size:contain}.ugb-f853c6d.ugb-feature:before{background-color:#cf2e2e;opacity:0.3}@media screen and (min-width:768px){.ugb-f853c6d .ugb-feature__item{grid-template-columns:0.60fr 1.40fr !important}.ugb-f853c6d .ugb-img{border-radius:30px;width:596px;height:auto !important}}ImmuneTo them it might be the same thing. As the Doomsday Clock ticks and tocks its way toward oblivion, they have chosen to abandon the path of least resistance in favor of authenticity and musical defiance. Calling the broken metropolis of Los Angeles home, Immune has performed at Ozzfest and Mayhem Festival and have had their music featured in numerous films and television shows. Currently hard at work on a new EP, they have recorded with legendary producers and engineers including Sylvia Massy (Tool, System of a Down) and Bryan Carlstrom (Alice in Chains, Social Distortion). Immune; submitted photo. In an odd twist, it turns out that I owe a huge debt of thanks to today’s guest and featured artist, Kendra Black, for helping to pull me out of that quicksand. From the time we first talked, she’s been checking in on me, mainly to find out when the hell her episode was going to drop, but also, I sense, because she suspects some of the roadblocks I’ve been staring at getting the show back on line. Those regular check-ins have been like little bursts of light and warmth through a dingy window. I’m already lining up artists for the next episode, and am very gratified that so many of the bands and artists I love are starting to book dates again, and can’t wait to share with you all the Indie music news that comes my way.

A lecture by Stefano Camporeale (Siena) part of the City of Rome Lecture Series. With the co-ordination of the Soprintendenza of Rome, a research team carried out in 2013-17 an archaeological study and restoration programme of the northern substructures of the Domus Tiberiana. Through stratigraphic, technical and structural analyses of this complex, new data has emerged on the function and different phases of the various rooms and buildings, on the construction processes, and on the urban organization of the Palatine's northern slope.
