The College Basketball Experience (@TCEonSGPN) of the Sports Gambling Podcast Network releases their Ivy League College Basketball Conference Preview for the 2024-25 season. On the show Ryan McIntyre (@Moneyline_Mac) and Noah Bieniek (@NoahB77_) break down every single Ivy League basketball team and key in on how they think the conference race will shake out. Princeton had an extremely good regular season last year but fell in the first game of the conference tournament. Mitch Henderson's Tigers do lose Matt Allocco but a good amount of the Sweet 16 core from two seasons ago is still in tact. Caden Pierce is the patented Princeton big man who won Ivy League Player of the Year last season. Xaivian Lee returns to man the point for the Tigers after playing out of his mind so far in his career. Is Princeton the hands down league frontrunner? Yale won the conference tournament and then knocked off Auburn in the NCAA Tournament. The Bulldogs lose three starters from that team. James Jones always has Yale in contention for the Ivy title. Can Bez Mbeng and John Poulakidas lead the Bulldogs to a banner this season? Mac and Bieniek finish the Ivy League College Basketball Conference Preview with some takes. What are their projected standings at the end of the year? The guys also provide their Ivy League Basketball sleepers and bust predictions. As a child, I tried to sign up for Little League, and they said, “No” you're a girl. And I remember thinking: That's not right. It hurt me in my heart. -Digit Murphy Margaret Pearl “Digit” Degidio Murphy admits that as a child, she cried when she couldn't play baseball or ice hockey just because she was a girl. As she skated alone around local ponds in her hometown of Cranston, Rhode Island, Digit knew she could be a champion. A scrappy kid from the wrong side of the tracks, she decided to never give up trying and, in the wake of crucial changes thanks to #title9, continued to break down barriers for women and girls in sports. A student athlete at Cornell, Digit was named Ivy League Player of the Year, finishing her college career with 123 goals and 90 assists. Digit loved the sport so much, she coached at Brown University for 23 seasons and holds the record as the winningest ice hockey coach in NCAA Division 1 history. But as she climbed the ladder in sports, Digit experienced pay inequality herself and fought for Olympic ice hockey athletes to be paid for the very first time. She would go on to coach on the pro level in the US, Canada, and China, with a philosophy focused on leading, guiding, and directing athletes. Says Digit: “You are like a conductor creating energy. You give your athletes a roadmap and the keys to the car, and then you let them drive.” In this interview, Digit takes us for a wild ride through a career in ice hockey that stands alone when it comes to creating opportunities for females: “Half a loaf is not enough. We cannot lose what we fought so hard to have. You have to have gritty, intestinal fortitude in order to continue to push boundaries, and I'd like to see all women doing that in all areas of sport.” For 25 minutes of true grit, just hit that download button. digitmurphy.com. @digitmurphy @usahockey

Under Kirwan, the Virginia offense ranked among the top three nationally in goals per game in four different seasons. The 2023 Cavalier attack, which was instrumental in the team's run to the national semifinal, finished as the country's top scoring offense with 17.24 goals per game and set a new program record for total goals in a season (293). Kirwan was named the 2021 IMLCA Assistant Coach of the Year after helping guide Virginia to consecutive national titles.A 2012 Tufts University graduate, Kirwan coached 18 All-Americans during his tenure at Virginia, including recent two-time Tewaaraton Award finalist and three-time first teamer Connor Shellenberger. Another three-time All-American, Matt Moore, broke the program's single-season and career points records under Kirwan's tutelage after transitioning from midfield to attack. Additionally, Kirwan developed consecutive ACC Rookie of the Year honorees in Michael Kraus (2017) and Moore (2018). Prior to his seven-year stint at Virginia, Kirwan spent two seasons running the Brown offense with two Ivy League titles and a Final Four appearance to his credit. During the 2015 season, his first on the Bears' staff, Kirwan helped Brown win 12 games, its highest total since 2009, to set the stage for a program-best 16 victories the following season. His offense was especially potent in 2016 with a nation-leading 16.32 goals per game. Dylan Molloy was honored with the Tewaaraton Award as the top male collegiate lacrosse player in 2016, having led the country with 116 points, and becoming the first in program history to earn the prestigious accolade. Molloy was also named the Ivy League Player of the Year in both 2015 and 2016. Kirwan coached under Lars Tiffany, a two-time ACC Coach of the Year recipient, at both Brown and Virginia. Tiffany earned back-to-back Ivy League Coach of the Year honors in 2015 and 2016 — both seasons with Kirwan on the staff. Kirwan played collegiately and began his coaching career at Division III Tufts, where he helped the Jumbos win their first-ever national championship as part of his record-setting playing career that featured 150 goals — the program's top mark at the time. He joined the coaching staff following his 2012 graduation and spent two seasons leading the team's offense before entering the Division I coaching ranks prior to the 2015 season. The Jumbos won the 2014 national championship with Kirwan serving as the offensive coordinator to complement back-to-back conference titles. The 2014 team amassed 423 goals, which stood as the highest single-season total by any team in history across all NCAA divisions at the time. Kirwan gained additional coaching experience at the professional level, spending multiple seasons implementing offensive schemes for the Boston Cannons and the Cannons Lacrosse Club. In 2021, Kirwan's offense ranked as the second most efficient attack in Premiere Lacrosse League history. Additionally, he assisted with draft strategy and roster management.A native of Boonton Township, New Jersey, Kirwan earned a bachelor's degree in child development and was a two-time All-American (2011 and 2012), plus a 2012 Academic All-American, at Tufts. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/lax-all-stars/message

Mackenzie Mgbako, top-10 recruit in the class of 2023, will choose between Kansas and Indiana on Friday evening. Which program has more at stake with his commitment. For Kansas and Bill Self, it could put them over the top as the best team in America (if they aren't already). For Indiana and Mike Woodson, they would likely rely more heavily on what Mgbako brings to the team. For either team, Mgbako will be an important and helpful piece. The transfer portal closed on Thursday. Notable players like Ernest Udeh (Kansas), Arthur Kaluma (Creighton), and Julian Phillips (Tennessee) were all late additions. Udeh's move might indicate Mgbako's intentions. Liz Fagan is one of the best athletes to come out of Princeton EVER. For Field Hockey, she was the Rookie of the Year in 1991 and the Ivy League Player of the Year in 1993 and 1994. She only started playing lacrosse her freshman year at Princeton. Only three years later, in 1994, her junior year, she was a starting defensive midfielder on the first Princeton National Championship team ever.
It's been a really fun month! The Masters was amazing. The Chevron Championship was sensational. The Tossing Clubs team just finished up their biggest golf trip to date (more to come on this). And we got to sit down with rockstar golfer and Epson Tour pro, Michelle Piyapattra, for an interview about life as a tour pro, the secret to picking caddies, college golf at Columbia, and much more. Michelle Piyapattra won seven individual titles in collegiate competition and was Ivy League Player of the year in 2012 at Columbia University before turning pro in 2015. As a pro, Michelle has 8 career Top 10s on the Epson Tour and two wins on the Canadian Tour.
Theresa Sherry's career as a Tiger spanned four of the most nationally successful years in the program's history. Her freshman year, they lost in the final game. Sophomore year, they won the championship. Junior year, she scored the money shot in overtime to win back-to-back championships. And senior year, in 2004, the year Princeton hosted the NCAA Finals, they lost in the final game. That year, Theresa would be named Ivy League Player of the Year and finish her career at Princeton having won 7 Ivy League Championships because, that's right, she also crushed it on the soccer field as a Tiger. 2x National Champion. 3x All American. 4x All Ivy. All of this and a woman here today, 18 years after graduating, talking about the best parts of it all - her 2004 classmates, that 2004 team, and that 2004 coaching staff.
Rachael Becker DeCecco is the most decorated player in the history of Princeton Lacrosse. She was an All-American, Ivy League Player of the Year, a leader on 2 Tiger National Championship Teams - 2002 and 2003 - and still, the only defender in DI NCAA Women's Lacrosse history to be awarded the Tewaaraton Trophy. As much as she was an incredible player, she is 10x that as a teammate, friend, and woman. And, aside from her family, there is nothing Rachael loves more than Princeton Lacrosse and Chris Sailer.
