Journalism is being forced to answer a question it long avoided: why should the public trust it at all? At a moment when credibility is eroding and the definition of a journalist is increasingly blurred, a new industry-wide framework is attempting to reset the standard. The 2026 Oxford Declaration on Journalistic Integrity and Public Trust is not just another set of principles — it is a direct response to a crisis of confidence. And as Steve Herman makes clear, the stakes are no longer theoretical — "the house is on fire and we need to respond to that." Is Journalistic Integrity Gone Now? #howardbloom #katherineramsland #idaho4case In an era of clickbait headlines and biased reporting, it's no secret that the truth has become a rare commodity in modern journalism. With the rise of social media and 24-hour news networks, the pressure to be the first to break a story has led to a lack of fact-checking and accountability. As a result, misinformation and disinformation have become rampant, leaving the public confused and disillusioned.

[00:30] Why Is This Race Even Close? (35 minutes) The fake president's reelection chances are riding on Thursday night's presidential debate. In the eyes of many doubtful Democrats, all Joe Biden has to do is appear competent; the whole debate will be designed to make him look good. The media is wondering why this race is so close because Biden should apparently be winning, despite his obvious cognitive decline. But honest analysts are asking the same question since all factors indicate Donald Trump is clearly in the lead. The presidential debate this week will be one versus three: Trump vs. Biden, Obama and the regime media. [35:00] Celtic Throne Feedback (6 minutes) [41:00] Post-Constitutional Order (9 minutes) America is entering the post-constitutional era. [50:00] Feedback (5 minutes)

For several weeks, much media attention has focused on reports of flags flown outside the primary residence and vacation home of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito. Several publications assert that the flags are associated with support for the “Stop the Steal” movement, Christian nationalism, and/or the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. These reports have led some reporters and lawmakers to question the impartiality of Justice Alito in cases involving former President Trump, and/or January 6 defendants. Justice Alito has issued statements directly addressing these reports and has not recused himself from any cases. On this topic, the Chief Justice declined a request for a meeting from two Democratic U.S. Senators, stating, in part, that "the format proposed - a meeting with leaders of only one party who have expressed an interest in matters currently pending before the Court - simply underscores that participating in such a meeting would be inadvisable."Is this latest media coverage and Congressional interest part of a growing trend to target certain members of the Court? Is the legitimacy of the Court itself being called into question? This program will address the contentions made against Justice Alito and the broader implications for journalism, professional ethics, separation of powers, and future respect for the Supreme Court as an essential American institution.Featuring: Dan Mclaughlin, Senior Writer, National Review Online Allyson Newton Ho, Partner & Co-Chair, Constitutional and Apellate Law Practice Group, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP

Mattia Peretti, former manager of Journalism AI at the London School of Economics and current Knight Fellow at the International Center for Journalists, joins host Nikita Roy to share insights on balancing AI innovation with journalistic integrity. The episode explores an AI literacy initiative at Internews, which created a platform for knowledge exchange and significantly improved the organization's understanding and application of AI technologies. The discussion also delves into the development of generative AI guidelines for newsrooms, using the example of The Guardian. The focus is on creating adaptable, value-driven principles rather than strict prescriptions. This approach allows for flexibility in the face of rapid technological changes while ensuring that the organization's foundational values remain intact. Anthony Davis is a British broadcaster, journalist, and voiceover artist. He was born in London and has been based in Los Angeles since 2017, where he works remotely from his home studio with networks worldwide. Since November 2021, his collaborations with the MeidasTouch media network, including the Five-Minute News, The Weekend Show, and America Uncovered, have exploded his reach across the US as a trusted voice in news commentary. Anthony argues that inviting religious far-right speakers into the very heart of American democracy shows the shift to unionize the right-wing church and state. Anthony feels America fell to a dictator when Trump's misinformation about the election campaign was spread, and peaceful protestors in Portland were militarized. This erosion of democratic values poses a grave threat to the foundation of American governance, necessitating concerted efforts to safeguard the integrity of democratic institutions and uphold the principles of justice and equality upon which the Constitution was founded. Chatting with Candice Mysterious Kat Episode Run Time: 1:21:27Katherine Brodsky or “Mysterious Kat” is an actress, publicist, director, producer, journalist, and former film critic. In this episode, we chat about how it's like being a woman on the internet, free speech in the age of Elon Musk's Twitter, and being a content creator in front of enflamed and captured audiences.00:00:00 00:01:48 Introducing Kat 00:04:34 Can You Be Pretty and Intelligent? 00:06:38 Raging Feminist and the “Me Too” Movement 00:14:15 Twitter, Elon Musk, and “Free Speech” 00:17:24 Eliza Bleu and Accusations 00:29:43 Clickbait Nature and Journalistic Integrity 00:36:55 Enflamed Audiences and a Battle of Ideas 00:44:11 Triggernometry, Audience Capture, and Nuanced Conversations 00:53:36 The Destiny VS Megan Murphy Debate and the Power of Choice 00:58:40 The Agency of Women, “Body Count”, and True Female Empowerment 01:07:47 The Red Pill and the Left VS the Right, and Answering Hate Comments 01:19:36 Where to Find Kat Can a Woman be Pretty AND Intelligent? There is a level of judgement when people meet Kat because she comes off across as more youthful than people her age. She's experienced ageism within the film critic community and as a woman, she also always has to constantly defend herself from being defined as a raging feminist whenever she expresses her opinions on the topic. There's been a longstanding suppression of conversation and we couldn't talk honestly and openly about feminist topics that when it comes up, men start getting defensive about it and see it as an attack. Alternatively, women are also seen as these mythical creatures who can do no wrong when they are very much as human as their male counterparts.Twitter, Elon Musk, and Eliza BleuIn the age of social media and Elon Musk's Twitter, oftentimes we get bits and pieces of narratives that travel far and wide and people often get a lot of clicks out of these narratives, feeling obliged to pick a side. Truth is more complex and nuanced and lately, nuance in conversations is largely ignored. Then there are some people like Eliza Bleu who seem to make up their own narratives. Do we look at the person or do we look at the message? Clickbait Nature VS Journalistic IntegrityThere's no real answer to having journalistic integrity while maintaining clickbait content. Accounts with the highest follower count provoke, spread lies, dismiss rhetoric, and are fully captured by their audiences. Kat chooses to label herself as an independent thinker, not a heterodox, by looking at all sides and not going with whatever the mainstream narrative is or what the culture wars are fighting for.Links and Resources:TwitterSubstackYouTubeMeta-DescriptionJournalist Katherine Brodsky or Mysterious Kat talks feminism, Twitter, clickbaits, nuanced conversations, and the true meaning of female empowerment.Support the show
