Zo Richardson found himself smitten with a podcaster once upon a time by the name of Karama Horne, AKA theblerdgurl. Like many, it was the voice that drew him in, and we talked not only about that but what it's like to crush on someone at almost 40 and how that differs from when you're a teenager. We also dive into his own podcast, Back Look Cinema, and more on this episode of Crushgasm! Not if Azula, Ty Lee and Mai have anything to say about it! Well… at least Azula and Ty Lee. Janet, Dante and Karama applaud everyone's efforts and appreciate the detail and design of the infamous Drill. And speaking of design… Karama delights everyone by speculating on what clothing designers Mai would wear IRL. Don't get caught in the slurry!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

No one, especially not Alan Moore, ever really wanted a Watchmen sequel. Which is exactly why handing the reins to Damon Lindelof, who has a history of disorienting and upsetting expectations, is a stroke of genius. Last year’s HBO series, spearheaded by Lindelof, is a bold, startling continuation of Moore and Dave Gibbons’ graphic novel masterpiece--so of course, after talking about the book, Paul, Arlo, and reformed podcaster Greg Sahadachny had to discuss the TV show. The gang talks about the ways in which Lindelof subverts and pays tribute to Moore and Gibbons’ work; how Lindelof built a writers’ room with people who were not like him; the show’s provocative exploration of race and authority; whether or not the show sticks the landing; and much, much more. Next: due to one scheduling kerfuffle after another, we’ve got another Four-Color Flashback for you! Paul and Arlo will discuss Jeff Lemire and Dean Ormston’s Black Hammer. For our fifth episode, host Karama Horne introduces a speech read by guest Dany Roth that President Richard Nixon would have read in the event of a moon disaster and the astronauts did not make it back to earth. Thankfully, Nixon never had to read it, but the remarkable words still hauntingly capture what was at stake when we sent three men to the moon.
In our fourth episode, host Karama Horne and astronomer Phil Plait explore an often overlooked part of the Apollo 11 mission: Quarantine. The three astronauts were kept in quarantine for three weeks, once more suspended in isolation, only this time on Earth.
In our third episode, host Karama Horne and astronomer Phil Plait aim to illuminate the significance of not only the man behind the camera, but also the photo taken that didn't just change history, but showed all of it.
In our second episode, Karama Horne takes us through the story behind a surprisingly difficult part of the Apollo 11 mission. Planting the American flag.
In this first episode, host Karama Horne and contributor astronomer Phil Plait tell the story of the moon landing - not of the accomplishment, but of its near failure.
Lots to talk about today! Excellent hosts Karama Horne, Dany Roth, and Adam Swiderski tackle, take on, and discuss all of the big news of this week. What is that news you ask? Well Netflix is adapting the famous Vertigo Comic characters, Sandman, into his own series. The little mermaid is coming back to the big screen with a life-action adaptation with Halle Bailey casted as Ariel in the scales. And last but certainly not least, the VERY SPOILER HEAVY discussion of Spider-Man: Far From Home! Join us, won't you?
Whatever it takes! This week's discussion is all about what we've been waiting for in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Endgame.
"In like a dead body, out like a bang" — that’s a saying right? Jackie recaps an *explosive* 6th season and then chats about it all with SYFY Wire associate editor Karama Horne.
Host, Dany Roth, is joined byt The Blerd Gurl, Karama Horne, to talk about the recent Netflix series, Love, Death, and Robots. They talk about the creative teams involved, the connection with Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse, and, of course, about robots who clean pools and make beautiful art.

Sweet Christmas! Marvel's Luke Cage has come to Netflix and is a huge hit. Given superstrength and durability by a sabotaged experiment, a wrongly accused man escapes prison to become a superhero for hire. Starring Mike Colter, the series is the latest Marvel superhero series to come to Netflix and this one touches upon real world issues like Black Lives Matter, gentrification, importing of guns into the inner city, and more. We'll be discussing it with our guests Charles Pulliam-Moore and Karama Horne. Charles Pulliam-Moore is a blogger at Fusion where he writes about race, sexuality, and inclusion in nerd culture. Twitter is his social media drug of choice. His work has also appeared in NPR and Slate and he agrees that Cyclops was right. This past week Marvel announced that Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man will be replaced with a young African-American girl named Riri Williams. The announcement was met with both praise and criticism by the public. Graphic Policy Radio dives into the topic with guests Regine L. Sawyer and Karama Horne (a.k.a. the blerdgurl). Riri Williams is a 15-year-old African American girl and will be taking over for Tony Stark in the fall, but while Marvel has upped diversity on the page, there are still major issues when it comes to the hiring of creators. We discuss this and more! Regine L. Sawyer is the Owner/Writer at Lockett Down Productions Publications. She is also the Coordinator & Founder of Women in Comics Collective International.
