He's usually the one asking the questions, but the tables have turned on our favorite entertainment reporter. Kevin McCarthy takes his turn on the podcast-- dishing to host Sarah Fraser about how he got to be where he is, and how he has to balance being relentless and annoying when it comes to the stars he interviews. Celebs love him. Why? He shares his persepective on I Still Have a Keycard. Oh, and he might talk a little about his amazing new wife and their dream wedding. Give it a listen!
On this INSANE, nearly out-of-control episode, the guys welcome radio, TV, and podcast personality Sarah Fraser! Sarah is the host of TWO hit podcasts, Hey Frase!, and the Washington, D.C. based Fox 5 show I've Still Got a Keycard. She is also a regular contributor to Fox 5's Good Day DC, and long-time listeners will remember her as Tony and Gary's co-host on the Off the Cuff TV shows. The three of them together, without the constraints of commercial TV, are a BLAST. (Although....umm....Gary seems a little perturbed about her success. Ahem.) PLUS, a true rarity and an amazing find: we play clips from Tony's days as a stand up comedian! We've got a 1988 performance from Tony that you've GOT to hear! Need we say it? This episode is CHOCK-FULL! NOTE: Sarah's podcasts can be found on iTunes, Podcast One, and with many other podcast providers.
Pittsburgh -> Boston -> DC. Jim Lokay's path brought him to the nation's capital about a year ago, but it didn't take him long to be part of our family. After you listen to this episode of 'I Still Have a Keycard,' you'll understand why. As Jim has told our FOX 5 viewers on air before, his dad suffered a major stroke four years ago-- and his family was forever changed. He's shared his story publicly in hopes of helping someone else-- and on the podcast, he tells host Sarah Fraser what it was like from the moment he learned what had happened to his dad. He also recalls the words he said to his father when he wasn't sure what would come next (trust us, you're gonna need the tissues for this). Oh, and he also dishes about his love for (read: obsession with appearing on) 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' AND why his cougars (the women, not the animals) are his biggest fans. Give it a listen!
You've heard lots of familiar voices on this podcast, but this time, it's the boss that's in the hot seat. FOX 5 Vice President and General Manager Patrick Paolini takes a turn on I Still Have a Keycard, talking to host Sarah Fraser about how news has changed, how the viewer has changed-- and how the local news business has changed as a result. A self-admitted political junkie, Patrick also talks about what has come of the 2016 election cycle and why neither presidential candidate is getting his vote (but someone will!).
You know him, love him, and literally wake up with him every morning. But how much do you really know about FOX 5 DC meteorologist TUCKER BARNES? He's got a lot more to talk about than the weather.Tucker sat down with I Still Have a Keycard host SARAH FRASER, and nothing was off limits. He opens up about his love life-- and the woman he's dating who might be a familiar face to FOX 5 viewers (but maybe not the one you think!). He also talks about what he's learned from past relationships, and what his future looks like. Did we mention he has a roommate?!? Don't miss this!
He's a guy who, as he'll tell you, always wants to be where the action is. Makes sense, especially since he's a reporter. But because of what he does, there's a lot you probably don't know about what makes TOM FITZGERALD who he is. Enter SARAH FRASER. On this episode of I Still Have a Keycard, she chats with the man we lovingly refer to as FITZ about the best story he's ever told (which also happens to be the worst story he's ever been faced with telling); politics and the craziness that is the 2016 presidential race. Fitz also talks about his family, becoming a dad at the age of 40 and how that's impacted his relationship with his own daughter. He also opens up about how he now reflects on his own rocky relationship with his dad, who had Alzheimer's disease at the end of his life. And of course, he talks plenty of SPRINGSTEEN.
She's your favorite weather woman-- but maybe we should call her Wonder Woman instead. You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who DOESN'T like SUE PALKA, and in this episode of I Still Have a Keycard, you'll learn there's a lot you don't know about her. As she tells host Sarah Fraser, Sue was a female breadwinner long before it was a thing. She reveals what it was like when SHE took the lead and her incredible husband Joe took over raising their two beautiful daughters instead-- and how long it was before he would admit it was the right move to stay in DC for her career. She also talks candidly about being a woman in a male-dominated field-- and tells the story about that one time she realized she was breaking ground in the world of weather (hint: WHITE HOUSE).
She prides herself on being honest, and it doesn't get much more honest than this. FOX 5 DC Morning Anchor HOLLY MORRIS has experienced a lot in her 18 years in Washington, and some of it you might not believe. In Episode #3 of our podcast, I Still Have a Keycard, Holly tells host Sarah Fraser, "We're going to call this addictions, affairs, and the happily ever after that can result from it." She shares the shocking story of how her first marriage ended in divorce, and how she somehow managed to get through it. In the end, Holly says it was the best thing to ever happen to her-- because it led her to a life that's made her happier than she ever imagined she could be.
