Actor John Schneider changed the course of television history with iconic characters and cross-generational appeal with the Dukes of Hazzard, Smallville, The Haves and the Have Nots, but the fact that he's done exactly that on a regular basis for at least four decades makes him a legend. John has over 20 albums to his credit, five #1 singles on the Billboard Country chart and his latest We're Still Us. On the road, you may even catch John Schneider and Tom Wopat singing together bringing back more memories than just the General Lee jumping through the sky. John is back with us today as he stars in the new Christmas movie, Jingle Smells along with Ben Davies, Eric Roberts, Jim Breuer and Victoria Jackson to name a few. And John has a heart for people, as it's worth noting that John co-founded (with Marie Osmond) the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, which has raised more than $8.5 billion for 170 children's hospitals throughout the United States. We had the pleasure of meeting our next guest, Karen Golightly, at her super cool little home on the edges of Memphis. Her home has a warm and vibrant atmosphere, with art taking over the walls, cool furniture, and an array of 100 small pots, succulents, and trinkets of art on her porch wall. We set up the jar on her kitchen table, which looked like it had been around for over a hundred years.Karen was born in Mobile, Alabama, and she has that Delta southern accent that she can turn on and off at will. She has one brother named Rusty, who is a lawyer and still practices. He was also her sports coach for all of her sports growing up, and while she looks back fondly on her memories of Mobile, she had the desire to get out of the small town. We laughed as she shared that she didn't have any Chinese food until she was 17. She ended up in Memphis for school and then started a journey of fun and education that brought her to Australia, Europe, and ultimately achieving her doctoral degree, before finding her way back to Memphis. Along the way, she even became an author.Karen talked about the one that got away, who in the end turned out to be a blessing in disguise, and how this is so often the lesson in life. She shares her story about starting "Paint Memphis" with four other people more than 10 years ago, and the fun and learning around that, and what it's like to have an art nonprofit and have fun turn of events. She knows one of our guests from New York, Mr. Renda Writer. We were fascinated by Karen's story and her positive outlook on life. She shared her life mantra, which she got from her father, "shoot your shot" and have no regrets. It's a great reminder to take risks and go after what you want in life. Join us as Karen shares her life journey, navigating through the jar, and providing insights and advice that we can all benefit from. For more of Karen Visit: PaintMemphis.orgFor more of The Jar, visit:Website: https://www.thejar.live/Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaTqB1dhDvl0Oh505ysdxTgFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/podcast.thejarInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/thejar_podcast/Disclaimer: The views stated in this episode are our guest's opinions and do not represent the views, beliefs or opinions of The Jar Podcast. Who you know is everything. You have heard that, we believe it, and yet so many of us don't take the time to really invest in relationships. Building genuine connections is Christopher McDonald's specialty. On paper he is what they call, in the entertainment space, a “talent booker” but between you and me…he is simply a BOSS at loving people and bridging relationships. At an early age, he knew he had a gift with people and figured out a way to make a living building relationships. Now as a talent booker for Impact Theory, The Kelly Clarkson Show, and leveraging a bunch of other side hustles where relationships are at the heart, Christopher generously shares his journey with us and his philosophy around building a career in a creative industry by keeping people at the center. In this conversation you will hear about “finding the void” so you can “break into” your industry, how his career improved after the “magical year of no”, and the two lessons his mom gave him before she passed that shaped his career and approach to life moving forward.Access Show Notes Here: https://www.heatherparady.com/blog/christophermcdonaldTOPICS FROM THIS EPISODE:How saying “no” improved his career and created MORE opportunities for himFiguring out a way to turn soft skills into a marketable skillsetLeveraging relationships in the right way, and keeping people at the centerCONNECT WITH US!Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/heatherparadyFollow Heather on IG:https://www.instagram.com/heatherparady/Follow Heather on Twitter: https://twitter.com/heatherparadyFollow Heather on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@heatherparady?Music Cred: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCISCA3u0nQ-Cxk-hI07g78A

Do you ever end up regretting something you did or said, sometimes days, weeks, months, or even years after the fact? Learn what you can do to make peace with that earlier version of yourself and set yourself free. I'll share a true story about a repeat scenario that caused me a load of regret AFTER my divorce, then we'll break down the process of freeing yourself from regret, which has 5 steps!So... Welcome to The Freedom Shower of No Regret. Steps!1) The Universal Flow: gain the perspective that the universe is giving you a lesson (albeit unpleasant) so you can remove this regret block from the flow of your life. 2) Soap of Amends: It's time to take responsibility and apologize, either to yourself or others. 3) Improve Shampoo: Sorry doesn't remove regret sometimes. So, we need to reflect AND act upon an action that will improve ourselves. (I.e. like when we regret not going to bed sooner because everyone is up watching TV and we have a big presentation that day and feel like crapola, the next time we say "y'all can watch it; I'm going to bed" ) Define the lesson you need to learn.4) The Face Wash of Forgiveness: In this step we remove all the should-a / would-a / could-as and practice forgiving ourselves. Here is where we release the judgement and practice being a great friend! 5) Acceptance Towel: Here we move into accepting all we did and all that happened. This will free us to move into a different perspective and inviting gratitude in for the lesson we have learned. PSST! Do you want a FREE printable of the Freedom Shower of no Regret? Comment below and I'll get it to you! And...here's your play-shop affirmation: I am direct and honest.LINKS MENTIONED: HTTPS://HeidiEsther.com/Joy for a free Joy guide. About Jeff Lopes:Jeff is a serial entrepreneur, author, but most importantly, a loving father. In this episode Jeff discusses what he learned when he almost lost his wife and son at birth and how this transitioned his life and gave him a deeper meaning. Since then, Jeff has taken entrepreneurship to another level with a specific emphasis on fatherhood and making sure that he doesn't let work stand in the way. He has also created a dynamic community of "Dadpreneurs" where he personally guides them to professional success as well and success at home. Personally, I love Jeff's approach to work and life and this was one of the most enjoyable and actionable conversations I've ever had and it reminds me of the whole reason I began this show; to define success beyond dollars. Jeff is an inspiration to me and someone I continue to learn from on a daily basis. You don't want to miss this episode.

The His & Her Money Show: Managing Money, Marriage, and Everything In Between
On this episode of the His & Her Money Show, we take that philosophy and run with it for some great, great conversation. Casanova takes us through it, from his childhood in Chicago to where he is today and everything that went down in between, the good and the bad. Casanova is a voice of nothing but inspiration, positivity, and light, and anybody can learn a thing or two from his mindset and practical advice for getting through the rough patches and coming out strong! In his own words, he's built his life and success around one main thing: relationships. And obviously it's served him well! He has strong views on networking and cultivating strong relationships in work and life in general. Casanova also gives us some insight into how he's applied it to countless situations.
