This week Nicola and Di chat with the dynamic Pete Simson. He’s an entrepreneur, a farmer, a philanthropist, the co-founder of RedBalloon and a loving father to his 2 children. Pete is also a single man in his 60s, navigating the world of online dating and we wanted to get his thoughts and insights into what this has been like for him as well as any tips he might have for our listeners. Pete shares with us some of the highs and lows of online dating including some funny stories of dates that went wrong. He also shares the different lessons he’s learned, the psychological principles that help him to notice red flags, such as attachment styles, and the things he’s on the lookout for when it comes to dating profiles and meeting up with a potential match. In this episode, you’ll also get to hear more of Pete’s story - growing up on a farm in rural Victoria, and the fateful day he got home from school as a 10 year old and saw that his family home had burnt down. There are tears in the studio as Pete recounts that day, and shares stories from his childhood. We talk about his entrepreneurship as the co-founder of RedBalloon, the company he built in 2001 with his wife at the time, and how they were ahead of their time as an online gifting experience company. And we chat about what Pete is up to now - an exciting new film project that is shedding light on white collar domestic violence and raising awareness around this important issue. We had such a great time with Pete in the studio - he’s full of energy and the conversation just flowed. We hope you enjoy this chat as much as we did. This episode is proudly sponsored by Eir Women. In episode 94 astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield serve up the synastry between G.O.A.T. tennis player, Serena Williams and Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian. The couple first met in Rome in 2015 and soon married in 2017. This episode took us for a surprisingly exciting ride as we started with Serena's mega libra stellium in the sixth house, showing her incredible work ethic and her perfected tennis skill set when it comes to one-to-one matches. Her Scorpio Venus revealed a deeply passionate approach to relationships and a Mars/Jupiter sextile signified a champion spirit. In Alexis' chart we saw a determined Taurus stellium, denoting personal resources and a heightened sensuality, while his Sagittarrius stellium showed a more bold and spontaneous side to his personality. Then, with a Venus/Jupiter opposition, grand gestures of love are an obvious go-to for him when it comes to relationships. Together, they have some of the most impressive aspects you can find in synastry! It's no surprise that Serena made this statement on their relationship: “Alexis doesn't dim my light,” Williams told Allure about the Reddit founder in January 2019. “He doesn't try to dim my light. He puts me in the light, even if I don't want to be. He pushes me to further points I never thought about.” That apparently wasn't the case in other relationships. She added, “Now I feel like I can shine really bright and still do everything that I want to do.” First, they have an incredible Sun/Moon conjunction, in the sign of Libra, which rules relationships and love! Not sure you can get a better Sun, Moon pairing than that for a marriage! Plus, with two reciprocating Mars/Venus connections, the attraction between them is undeniable. In this episode we were hard pressed to find any troubling snags. This match is truly striking and one for the ages! Listen in to hear what Venus Score we gave this heavily Venusian-themed couple! In episode 92 astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield take on the private relationship between Fifty Shades of Grey actor Dakota Johnson and Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin. The two have been together for seven years, but have not yet married...but Dakota was recently photographed wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring. We start by looking into Dakota's chart and find a serious, dutiful, and structure-loving Capricorn Rising. With that rising getting a supportive sextile from Pluto and with Scorpio ruling her Midheaven, and Venus also in Scorpio, we can see strong themes of resourcefulness, control, sexuality, and all things "taboo". No wonder she was an obvious choice for her role in the infamous film, Fifty Shades of Grey. Next, we look at Chris' chart and see a dreamy and imaginative Pisces Sun which also gets a square from Neptune. His musical talents and compassionate nature are revealed with these placements, but there can also be a need for escape and trouble with setting boundaries. We also see a contrasting fiery Leo Moon, proving he needs recognition and the spotlight to feel secure. Adding his Venus in Aries, his confidence and entrepreneurial spirit is clearly present. Together, their synastry shows extreme magnetism and deep evolutionary lessons to learn from each other thanks to both of their Suns receiving mutual Pluto, Neptune, and Saturn aspects! Adding trine fire Moons, the emotional familiarity and playful side in this relationship thrives, but can a destructive Pluto/Mars square get too out of hand and create unbearable power struggles? Listen in to hear what Venus score we gave this secretly engaged couple! In Episode 81 astrologers, with Pride Month just around the corner, Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield take on newly established queer actress Sophia Bush and her girlfriend, soccer star Ashlyn Harris. The two recently made their red carpet debut, so we thought we'd take a look at their synastry! First, we dive into Sophia's birth chart and see a sensitive and nurturing Cancer Sun, but with a square from Mars and Saturn, there might be a harder and more confrontational side to her. A grand air trine sticks out the most, this makes her intellectual, charming, and very articulate. Next, we look at Ashlyn's chart and see a Libra Sun, she is known for her fashion sense, this also makes her fair-minded, pro-justice, and partnership oriented. We see a responsible and stable (albeit emotionally withdrawn) Capricorn Moon along with a positive Mercury aspect, making her a good listener and someone who can give practical advice. Together, their synastry chart shows us mutual Sun/Mercury trines, telling us they evoke confidence in each other and speak the same language. A positive Uranus aspecting multiple relationship points tells us there is an emphasis on friendship, freedom, and openness. However, with a Moon/Saturn and Mercury/Mars square...this tells us there are some potential faults in the foundation when it comes to their ultimate family goals and personal fighting styles. In Episode 77 astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield rock n' roll their way through the synastry of another Kardashian couple, this time between oldest sister Kourtney and pop-punk drummer, Travis Barker...and tomorrow happens to be Kourtney's birthday! First, we go into Kourtney's chart and see a strong Aries theme, making her a passionate, fighting, individualist, who isn't afraid to speak her mind. The confrontations she has with her sisters are not for show people, that's truly her personality! Interestingly enough, we also see a Pisces Venus and Rising, giving her a softer, more watery and romantic side, underneath that fire. But with a Saturn/Ascendant opposition and Capricorn Moon, we know why her trademark stoicism and seriousness really come through. Next, we dive into Travis' chart and encounter a moody Cancer rising and Aries Moon. This makes this tattooed, chest-baring man fiercely protective and broody. With a Scorpio Sun we also understand that his life experiences create deep transformation and resilience (surviving a plane crash, for one). We also see a harsh Pluto/Moon opposition and talk about how weaponized and defensive this placement can be. Together, this Aries Sun and Scorpio Sun certainly share passion and intensity, with a Chiron/Sun conjunction providing some healing energy. But with square Moons and Mars' their cardinal energy is confrontational at best, sharp and mean at worst. Even though they have the coveted Mars/Venus connection, does the rest of their chart stand a chance? Listen in to find out what surprising Venus sign this couple gets! In episode 50 astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield take on the once rumored and now publicly acknowledged pairing between Kylie Jenner and Timotheé Chalamet. The two have been quietly getting to know each other over the Summer, and recently made their public debut as a couple, complete with PDA at the U.S. Open! Does this Gen-Z couple of the moment have staying power? We take a look at their synastry! We first dive into Kylie's chart and immediately see that she is strong and mature-beyond-her-years thanks to a Capricorn rising sign (being on camera since the age of nine will do that to you). Next, we see a stellium in Virgo, which explains her put together look (and self-critical perception), while her Mars in Libra on the Midheaven explains her beauty-entrepreneur mogul status. However, with a Leo Sun in the 8th house and a Scorpio Moon, she is more secretive than your typical Leo and craves deep intimacy. We then view Timothee's chart and immediately find a substantial stellium in Capricorn including the Sun, giving him a chiseled, matured, and grounded personality. With Virgo rising, his refined air is also not lost on anyone. We also come across Saturn in Pisces in the 7th house and discuss how this can mean sacrifices when it comes to his relationships. Together, this couple offers surprising compatibility. We see a Sun/Ascendant conjunction making them proud of each other's hard work. They also share the coveted Venus/Mars trine (in Earth), giving us hints of major mutual attraction. Interestingly, we also encounter a Venus/Uranus conjunction in Aquarius that can make for better friends than lovers, but with the rest of the chart taken into consideration, an exception is possible. With accurate birth times for both parties, our interpretations get deep! Listen in to hear what surprising Venus score these two receive! In episode 45 astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield analyze a Venus Retrograde divorce story and take on Actors Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello. The two recently announced their divorce after seven and a half years of marriage - lining up with the infamous Saturn square! Opening up with Sofia, we find both the Sun and Moon in the nurturing, emotional sign of Cancer, telling us she was born during a New Moon! This makes her emotionally supportive of others, sensitive and family oriented - makes sense she played a TV mom on Modern Family! But with Uranus squaring her Sun and Moon, she has a rebellious streak, has an unconventional approach to life, and can enjoy saying things to shock others. We then look at Joe's chart and see a strong, sturdy, and ambitious Capricorn Sun. With a grand trine in fire, this is a passionate, decisive, confidant and showy/dramatic person. Joe has a strong need to be seen with all of this fire, but with Pluto in Libra, creating a kite formation, there is also a need for balance and compromise if he is to use that fire energy well. Together, they share air Venus placements. This makes for great friendship, as their social and intellectual needs get met by one another. This also tells us that spoken affection and communication is a core part of their love language. While they have some positive aspects, we do run into a challenging Pluto square from Joe to Sofia's Sun and Moon, making trust and family issues core to the internal struggles of this couple. Along with a Venus/Neptune aspect they could be each other's fantasies or each other's let downs. Lastly, we take an extra look at the chart of their marriage day and find a potent and combative Aries Moon. Although Venus was in Libra (great for a wedding!), the day representing their union might have been chaotic, thanks to other alignments. In episode 25 astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield take on the surprising and newfound love connection between Niecy Nash and Jessica Betts. As we look into Niecy Nash's birth chart, we find an empathetic, adoring Pisces with a joyful and expansive Jupiter touch, which explains her multiple marriages and the need to spread and share the love! Meanwhile, Jessica's natal chart shows us an informed, but reserved Gemini who understands the language of love. She also possesses a warrior-woman energy thanks to her Mars in Cancer! Together, their synastry chart shows us matching Libra Moons, making their compromise and commitment abilities feel like home to each other. However, with fundamentally different elemental styles and heavy outer planet activation on top of their own aspects, can this relationship last? Given all the horrible relationship advice we've discussed on this pod, we were concerned professionals might be reticent to come on, but therapist Lindsay Luv was up for the challenge. Lindsay appears on this episode to talk about her work with marginalized individuals, dating and relationship trends she sees in her patients, her frank advice for young men seeking a partner, and her relationship war stories. Find Lindsay online on Facebook, Instagram, and at therapyluv.com. Lindsay expressed support for the Highland Project, a group working to build black generational wealth (and can be found here), and the Loveland Foundation, which provides mental health support for black women (find them here). This year our monthly Patreon donations will be going towards trans organizations and activism. This month we made a donation to the bail fund of trans activist who was arrested for protesting a horrendous trans bill in Oklahoma. Check out the link here. Interested in starting your own podcast? Do you feel sexually shut down after your last breakup or if you're in a relationship and just not feeling it? Do you judge how you look down there and not want to have sex because you're afraid of rejection or mean comments? Sadly, many women are very insecure of the shape, size and color of their vulva and labia. And it's one of the top reasons labiaplasty surgeries increased by 36% from the year 2015 to 2016 and nearly 10,000 women each year in America go under the knife for this procedure. Labiaplasty surgery was something that Josianne was highly considering when she first talked to me. She had pain and didn't like the way she looked and thought the surgical route might be the only way to resolve her insecurity and pain. She was also really shut down sexually, hadn't been in a relationship for 5 years and hadn't had sex in 2.5 years. In today's episode here how Josianne: Went from considering a labiaplasty to total body and self love How she manifested 3 raises after saying yes to working on her sexuality Went from not having sex in 2.5 years to finally dating and having sex again Got past sexual and body shame Learned to have boundaries with men Started asking for what she wanted with men and getting it Now, I know these results sound insane, but they are actually super common for women who join me in my Sex Goddess: 5 Months to Total Freedom in the bedroom program. Up until last week, it was called SEW. So, in this episode you will hear me refer to the program as SEW, but the name has now changed to Sex Goddess. And, it happens to be relaunching with a new name and brand new, up to date teachings and trainings the first week of December. If you resonate with anything Josianne shares in this episode, I invite you to simply apply for the program at the link below no later than December 2., 2022. All you have to do is answer 4 or 5 questions and book a time to speak with me for about 45 minutes to determine if the program is the right fit. This round of the program is going to be extra special not only because of the new name and brand new, fresh off the press content, but because those of you who apply by December 2, 2022 will also receive 3 never before offered bonuses including: 8 Types of Female Orgasms Blueprint Training ($888 value currently being taught live) How to Pleasure a Woman Online Course for Men ($497 value to be released mid December 2022) Receive and Manifest Training ($999 value to be taught live starting early January 2023). —————————————————————— Apply for Sex Goddess: 5 Months to Total Freedom in the Bedroom by 12/2/22 and you'll receive access to all 3 bonuses for free https://bit.ly/sexgoddessprogram
In episode 11, astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield discuss the astrological compatibility of George and Amal Clooney. The forever bachelor and leading man marries the international warrior for human rights. Even though we see a lot of earth in George's natal birth chart, (indicating lots of slow and methodical movement) his relationship planets are all in fast-moving fire. Then we have brainy, freedom-loving Amal who identifies and fights for the commoner. Building their relationship throughh email correspondence and fighting together for the common good, their compatibility chart shows a deep emotional capacity to hold space for each other creating a truly transformational relationship. A Taurus and an Aquarius can find love after all! Listen in to hear how well they rate on the Venus scale and why waiting so long may have been the best bet! Where to find Kristina and Tara! In episode 9, astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield discuss the astrological compatibility of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee. This quintessential rock royalty couple of the 90's and early 2000's took their relationship to the limits. By diving into their natal birth charts, we can see that soft, Cancerian, Pam Anderson also has a fiery need to be seen and loved. While relationship-oriented Tommy needs both a strong intellect and deep intimacy from his partner. Together, their composite chart shows all the right planets in all the wrong places. We can see a relationship chalk full of conflict and confrontation, and messages getting lost in translation. Always having something to fight about equaled love, and compromise did not come easy for these two. Listen in to find out how many Venus' we gave them (or didn't) and why, when it comes to relationships, it's best to consult the stars first! Where to find Kristina and Tara! In episode 7, astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield discuss the astrological compatibility of Ellen Degeneres and Portia De Rossi. This couple broke major barriers in Hollywood when it came to open same-sex relationships. Alas, airy, unique Aquarius is afoot! This couple has a heavy dose of the rebellious spirit of Aquarius and we ask: can two people of the same sign (yes, they both have sun in Aquarius and other planets!) work well together? Reading into their natal birth charts, we see that they both bring extroversion and opinions to the table and together they understand each other's strong need for space...but what pulls them back together when they drift apart? It's something strong alright, as their compatibility chart reveals one heck of a power couple! Listen in to hear how they scored on the Venus scale...hint...it's high!! What is conscious love? For relationship coach Angela N. Holton, it's an inward journey of finding purpose and fulfillment and healing our core wounds to avoid projection on our partners. It all starts with looking at what hasn't worked in our past relationships and learning how to be more responsible to our loved ones. Tune in to this episode: Conscious Love and Dating with Angela N. Holton. Key points covered in this episode: ✔️ Don't blame dating apps. Show up with integrity. No more ghosting. More accountability. No more rude comments on people's appearance. More authenticity. More accountability. ✔️ Rejection is experience. It's nothing personal and is a way to get you one step closer to your person. Just lick your wounds, move on, and when the right one comes, they'll surely not pass you by. ✔️ Turn your suffering into art. Write in your journal. Do standup comedy. Sing songs. Pain and grief are energies – the more they get locked up, they build up and will explode in the ugliest ways. Let it go! ✔️ Become the mirror reflection of what you want. We all think about our ideal partners. So why not think about what they are looking for and embody it? ✔️ Find fulfillment in other aspects of your life. Dating isn't the end-all-be-all in life. Have you considered working out your career, hobbies, and connections with family and friends? ✔️ Dating and relationships are a journey within yourself. A whole heart isn't devoid of pain. It has integrated all its past mistakes and hurtful memories into its cracks and has learned to push aside its triggers and wounds. ———————————————————————————————— Angela N.
