Jimmy went to New York Comic Con (NYCC) last week and got about 12 interviews and 1 press room. Producer Joe even got an interview in! In this episode, you'll hear from Greg Pak but it WASN'T at NYCC! Greg and Jimmy decided to chat post-NYCC away from the madness. They met in Central Park here in NYC and had a lovely chat about Greg's prolific work on comics like DARTH VADER, MECH CADETS, WHO BELONGS? DEADLY HANDS OF KUNG-FU, CITY BOY, etc. They also talked about the Netflix animated series MECH CADETS based on his comics, the Amadeus Cho action figure and his photography. Always a delightful catch-up. Post interview, Greg surprised Jimmy with an impromptu photo shoot! Look for Jimmy to be walking the runways of fashion week very soon. Enjoy! Also, get a hold of us! Thanks for listening!

Mech Cadets, Blue Beetle failures and Comic Reviews This week we kick off with the box office failures of Blue Beetle as it loses to Barbie and Gran Turismo this weekend. DC continues its losing streak this year. For the crux of the episode we review Mech Cadets. The comic by Greg Pak has been adapted into an animation by Netflix. This show shows exactly why excelling at the basics matter the most. We break down the characterisations and what makes it compelling. Finally we talk about 2 new comics. Immortal Thor by Al Ewing has Dapo gushing about what might become the next great run on Thor. We also talk about Mark Millar's big crossover Big Game, the comic about villains from most of his books. Next week we will definitely be talking about I am Iron Man as we look into rereading the books as it is tied together.

Congratulations on the Eisner nomination! The first of many I'm sure.Last time you were on the show it was April 2021, Moon Knight #1 hadn't yet released, you delivered some of the best Black Cat comics ever, and the world was your oyster, take us through what you've been up to since April 2021. (and when do you sleep?)You're currently juggling Doctor Strange, Moon Knight, and Avengers, how do you keep up with those three at once? Was there any desire to get Moon Knight and/or Doctor Strange on the team since you're writing their solo books?Do you listen to any music when you write? Your Strange books have big Pink Floyd/King Crimson energy. If your Avengers run had a tagline, for the entire breath you've plotted or for this first story arc, what would it be?Avengers has a new team lineup and a new team leader, what made Carol the right choice to lead the team?I liked how you up front point out Carol had beef with Tony once, and where Black Panther is at currently, how do you balance the characters arcs and what you want to do with them in the team book? The Ashen Combine is such a cool concept, and it's not even your first awesome villainous team as we got the Three Mothers in Death of Doctor Strange, what motivates you to build these evil teams?Timeless has been a nice annual preview of things to come, do you and Marvel have plans to continue bringing it back each year?
