A match between The Miz and John Morrison, which was announced on last Monday's Raw is no longer being promoted. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan announced the full cards for its upcoming Wrestle Grand Slam stadium shows next weekend. All the wrestlers who've been sidelined due to COVID-19 or contact concerns will be back for the show. That includes IWGP World Heavyweight Champions Shingo Takagi, who is set to defend the title against EVIL on Sunday's show. Also, there's a title match now added to Sunday's card. El Phantasmo & Taiji Ishimori defend the junior tag titles against Yoshinobu Kanemaru & El Desperado. Saturday's show now has a one-on-one match between former tag partners SHO and YOH. Stardom will have a match on both Wrestle Grand Slam shows...and BOTH will be broadcast on New Japan World. At Stardom's show on Sunday... Starlight Kid beat Natsupoi to win the High Speed Title. And we have to mention this from Pro-Wrestling NOAH. The Great Muta hit Kaito Kiyomya with a CAR during NOAH's show on Sunday. (STINGER: AEW) At least NINE matches are being promoted for tonight's AEW Dark: Elevation, including Sammy Guevara & Fuego Del Sol vs. Chaos Project...Julia Hart & Big Swole vs. Nyla Rose & Diamante...and Brian Cage vs. Anthony Bowens. For the first time in more than a thousand days, there is a NEW NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion. Trevor Murdoch ended the near three-year reign of Nick Aldis in the main event of last night's 73rd Anniversary pay per view...pinning Aldis after a leaping bulldog from the top rope. Ric Flair, who also appeared earlier in the show, was on hand to congratulate Murdoch. There are new NWA Tag Team Champions. Also added to All Out...Miro will defend the TNT Championship against Eddie Kingston. The main event on last night's Rampage saw Christian Cage & Frankie Kazarian beat AEW Champion Kenny Omega & Brandon Cutler. Christian pinned Cutler with the Killswitch. Also last night, The Bunny used a pair of brass knuckles to knock out and pin Tay Conti. Penelope Ford helped Bunny spring the trap by distracting the referee. The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer and Andrew Zarian from The Mat Men Podcast are reporting that AEW will soon begin holding tapings for Dark at Universal Studios in Orlando. (STINGER: WWE) Roman Reigns will defend his Universal Championship on next Friday's SmackDown...against Finn Balor. The match was made at the end of last night's SmackDown. Also last night, Bianca Belair earned a rematch for the SmackDown Women's Championship she lost to Becky Lynch. Belair won a 4-Way Elimination Match last night, outlasting Carmella, Zelina Vega and Liv Morgan. Morgan was the last to be eliminated. Becky Lynch was on last night's SmackDown...and said she apologizes for nothing when it comes to how she sucker punched and pinned Belair in less than 30 seconds to win the SmackDown Women's Title at SummerSlam. Sami Zayn pinned Dominik Mysterio last night with the Helluva Kick. After the match it appeared there is growing tension between Dominik and his dad Rey. KING Nakamura & Rick Boogs beat Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode. Boogs pinned Ziggler with a pumphandle slam. Cesaro beat Chad Gable via disqualification when Otis interfered. Otis then his Cesaro with a splash from the second rope. Baron Corbin returned from Las Vegas a rich man...and is now calling himself “Happy” Corbin, with new entrance music and everything. Corbin offered $100,000 dollars for Big E's Money In The Bank contract. Big E declined the offer. WWE on Friday unveiled a new logo for NXT - a dramatic departure from the old one, featuring bright, bold colors. We don't know when it will start being used on the show. The NWA presents its all-women Empowerrr pay per view Saturday afternoon starting at 1PM Eastern. Kamilla will defend the NWA World Women's Title against AEW's LEGIT Leyla Hirsch Impact Knockouts Champ Deonna Purrazzo puts her title on the line against Melina. New NWA World Women's Tag Champions will be crowned in a four-team tournament. And the main event will be the NWA Women's Invitational - a gauntlet-style battle royal. Ten women are expected to compete in this, including Chelsea Green, Kiera Hogan, , Masha Slamovich, Jennacide and Lady Frost. The winner gets a shot at the NWA Women's Title on Sunday at the NWA 73rd Anniversary pay per view. Back in Japan, Friday's show at Korakuen Hall saw Hiromu Takahashi's comeback match. He got a win over DOUKI. (STINGER: WWE) New matches announced for NXT TakeOver 36 during last night's NXT. Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly will meet in a two-out-of-three falls match. Where both men each get to choose a stipulation for one of the first two falls. If it gets to a third fall, the stip will be decided by GM William Regal. O'Reilly is choosing a straight-up match for the first fall. Cole picked a Street Fight for the second fall. The third fall - if needed - will be inside a steel cage. Cameron Grimes will get another shot at LA Knight's Million Dollar Championship...and the end of his time working as Knight's butler.. Most of them were working on NXT and 205 Live. Perhaps the most surprising name is Bronson Reed. He was the NXT North American Champion just a couple months ago. He also got a look recently on Main Event. Other confirmed cuts: Jake Atlas… Kona Reeves... Anthony Henry, who signed with WWE back in January, and was wrestling under the name Asher Hale...Alex Zayne, who was wrestling under the name Ari Sterling. He signed with the company late last year... and Denzel Dejournette, who was recently using the ring name Desmond Troy. More names were reported by Fightful and PWInsider: Bobby Fish… Mercedes Martinez… Tyler Rust, who was part of the new Diamond Mine faction on NXT...and had just signed with WWE last December. Former NXT North American Champion Leon Ruff, who won the title shortly after he signed with WWE last summer… Giant Zanjeer… Zechariah Smith... AND referee Stephon Smith. We got two new matches officially announced for SummerSlam during Friday night's SmackDown. Bianca Belair will defend the SmackDown Women's Championship against Sasha Banks. Belair beat Zelina Vega in a non-title match on SmackDown. Also added to SummerSlam, Edge vs. Seth Rollins. Finn Balor is not over last week's contract signing...and the Universal Title match he missed out on when Baron Corbin interrupted the ceremony...and then, John Cena swooped in to sign the contract himself. Balor steamrolled Corbin on Friday night. After the match, Balor said he still wants his title shot and he'll go through Cena to get it. That drew out Roman Reigns...and The Usos. Balor got the better of them for a bit, but eventually succumbed to the numbers game. KING Nakamura beat Intercontinental Champ Apollo Crews via disqualification...after Commander Azeez got involved. This was a non-title match, but this appears to put Nakamura in line for a title shot. Tegan Nox pinned one half of the WWE Women's Tag Champs Tamina. Nox rolled up Tamina after she was distracted by Shotzi firing a shot from her tank at ringside. One half of the SmackDown Tag Champs Jey Uso beat Dominik Mysterio. The Street Profits returned to action with a win over Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan's Super Junior Tag League kicks off Saturday with the first three matches at the Summer Struggle show at Korakuen Hall. It's a FREE show on New Japan World. The tournament continues on Sunday...with three more matches: Master Wato & Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo...Tiger Mask & Robbie Eagles vs Roppongi 3K...and El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs. Dick Togo & Gedo. Team Filthy appeared to gain some extra manpower at the end of last night's New Japan Strong. Team Filthy's Danny Limelight & JR Kratos beat the West Coast Wrecking Crew - Jorel Nelson & Royce Isaacs - in the main event. The two sides were ready to keep going at it after the match, but FILTHY Tom Lawlor himself came to the ring to play peacemaker...and Nelson & Isaacs left the ring with Team Filthy. Pro-Wrestling NOAH's YO-HEY is out of action after a PCR test came back positive for the coronavirus. Five other wrestlers and a referee were also pulled from Friday's show due to contact with YO-HEY. Several upcoming shows in Australia are canceled or postponed due to a new 7-day lockdown in the country over COVID-19 concerns. An extra episode of NWA Powerrr on Friday produced a new champion. Tyrus took the NWA TV Title from Da Pope. Lady Frost is now added to the Empowerrr pay per view on August 28th. She'll be part of a battle royal...where the winner gets a shot at the NWA Women's Title the following day at the NWA's 73rd Anniversary pay per view. One of pro wrestling's most respected in-ring performers...has died. Bobby Eaton was a wrestler's wrestler - admired by his peers for his skill inside the squared circle...and for his kind nature away from the ring. Eaton is recognized as one of the greatest tag team wrestlers of all time. His run as part of the original Midnight Express is legendary. Eaton's family announced he passed away on Wednesday night. Bobby Eaton was 62. (STINGER: WWE) Another title match is set for SummerSlam. The Usos will defend the SmackDown Tag Titles against the former champs, Rey & Dominik Mysterio. On Thursday's NXT UK…A-Kid beat Jordan Devlin in a 30-minute Iron Man Match...winning two falls to one. A-Kid took the lead with a submission on Devlin with about 90 seconds left...and then held on for the victory. Also on Thursday's show, Blair Davenport beat Xia Brookside. An 8-man tournament will decide the new #1 contender for the Heritage Cup Championship currently held by Tyler Bate. That begins next week with a first round match between Mark Andrews and Noam Dar. As of Thursday night, there's essentially nothing announced for tonight's SmackDown. (STINGER: Impact) The next Impact Plus exclusive, Emergence, is now being promoted for Friday, August 20th. Impact has promised that Kenny Omega will defend the Impact World Title on that show. Two more title matches for Emergence were made official on last night's Impact. Josh Alexander will defend the X-Division Title against Jake Something, who won a 4-Way #1 Contender Match last night. The Impact Tag Titles will be on the line in a 3-Way. The Good Brothers defend against Violent by Design and Willie Mack & Rich Swann. The Good Brothers and Omega were beaten in last night's main event...by the team of Sami Callihan, Eddie Edwards and the ELITE HUNTER Frankie Kazarian. Edwards pinned Karl Anderson with the Boston Knee Party. W. Morrissey showed up and laid out Edwards after the match. Bullet Club has a new member...and it's Chris Bey. He had removed his boots in the ring...after a loss to Malakai Black in last night's main event. However, Cody couldn't finish his emotional post-match address to the crowd at Daily's Place before Black returned and cracked Cody across the back with a crutch. Christian Cage is the new #1 contender to Kenny Omega's AEW Championship. Christian pinned The Blade on last night's show. Omega and the rest of The Elite put a beating on Hangman Page in the ring last night. Dark Order wanted to help out but Hangman had told them earlier that they should “go their separate ways”...at least, for now.. The ELITE HUNTER Frankie Kazarian tried to help Hangman, but couldn't overcome the numbers advantage of The Elite. LEGIT Leyla Hirsch is next in line for a shot at the NWA Women's Championship held by Kamille. Hirsch submitted The Bunny last night. Kamille was ringside and had a staredown with Hirsch after the match. The NWA later announced that title match will happen at its Empowerrr pay per view on August 28th. Lee Johnson put up a good fight, but Miro was able to put him away with his Game Over submission to retain the TNT Championship. Chris Jericho pinned Juventud Guerrera with a Judas Effect from the top rope. The 4th “Labour Of Jericho” next Wednesday will be against Wardlow with MJF stationed at ringside. Also announced for next week's Dynamite...the Good Brothers are set to defend their Impact Tag Team Titles against Dark Order's Evil Uno & Stu Grayson. Plus, MMA trainer Dan Lambert vowed to confront Lance Archer next week. Archer laid out Lambert on a Dynamite episode last month...after Lambert had bad-mouthed AEW. We got the first match announced for the premiere of Rampage on August 13th. It'll be Dr. Britt Baker defending her AEW Women's Championship against Red Velvet. We also learned the commentary team for Rampage will be Excalibur, Mark Henry, Chris Jericho and Taz. FTR's Cash Wheeler is recovering from a nasty gash to his forearm. It happened during a match on last Wednesday's Dynamite. On his Instagram, Wheeler said he'll be fine...but he also added that he's not sure when he'll be cleared to return to action. AEW's Tony Khan is responding to backlash over the latest pre-match rap by The Acclaimed's Max Caster. It aired during Tuesday's episode of Dark. But you can't watch it on AEW's YouTube now. It was removed from the show after it first aired. On Wednesday's Busted Open Radio, Khan called the rap “terrible”...and added that he'll be taking over editing of Dark and Dark: Elevation to prevent similar issues in the future. Also, Beyond Wrestling announced Wednesday that Caster will “no longer be appearing” on its show tonight. Beyond did not specify the reason for the change. (STINGER: New Japan) It appears former G1 Climax participants Jay White and Juice Robinson will NOT be part of this year's tournament. New Japan announced upcoming live dates in the U.S. - at the Curtis Culwell Center just outside Dallas on September 25th and 26th...and at Philadelphia's 2300 Arena on October 16th & 17th. White and Robinson are among the names announced for those shows. All four of those dates fall within the G1 schedule, which runs from September 18th through October 21st. And they got to see Finn Balor's return to the main roster. He interrupted...and then, laid out Sami Zayn. Bianca Belair pinned Carmella with the KOD to retain the SmackDown Women's Championship. For the second straight week, Shotzi & Nox beat the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Natalya & Tamina in a non-title match. Nox caught Natalya in a small package...after Natalya was distracted by Liv Morgan and Zelina Vega brawling at ringside. That win earned Shotzi & Nox a tag title shot. Roman Reigns & The Usos beat Edge and Rey & Dominik Mysterio. Jey Uso rolled up Rey after a superkick from Jimmy Uso. Seth Rollins won a 4-Way main event over Kevin Owens, Big E and Shinsuke Nakamura. Rollins pinned Big E after a curb stomp onto a ladder. Cesaro beat Otis after Chad Gable interfered. Toni Storm will make her main roster debut on next Friday's SmackDown. Davey Boy Smith Jr. is officially back in WWE. He worked a non-televised match under the name “Harry Smith” before the start of Friday night's SmackDown broadcast. WWE has canceled a pair of upcoming live events: A house show in Gainesville, Florida on August 8th...and SmackDown in Atlanta on September 17th. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan has a Summer Struggle show Saturday. Earlier in the day, New Japan announced Kota Ibushi will miss its show on Sunday due to an illness. It added Ibushi tested negative for COVID-19. The Tag Team Turbulence tournament got underway on Friday night's New Japan Strong… Brody King & Chris Dickinson beat JR Kratos & Danny Limelight. They advance to the semifinals to face Jorel Nelson and Royce Isaacs, who beat Kevin Knight & The DKC. On the other side of the bracket...Yuji Nagata & Ren Narita beat Fred Yehi & Wheeler Yuta...and the Good Brothers beat TJP & Clark Connors. TJP took the pin after a Magic Killer. On last night's AEW Dark… Julia Hart pinned Madi Wrenkowski with a split legdrop...Angelico beat Wheeler Yuta...and Billy & Colten Gunn beat Cezar Bononi & JD Drake. Rickey Shane Page made his AEW debut...with a loss to Top Flight's Dante Martin. Diamante beat Harlow O'Hara..and then issued a challenge to Big Swole. He kicked out of Johnny Gargano's One Final Beat...and then blitzed him with a series of powerbombs, a Saito Suplex and a forearm to the back of the neck before getting the pin. Kross and special referee Samoa Joe were in each other's face throughout the match...and after the match, Kross choked out Joe. Duke Hudson pinned Ikeman Jiro with a Boss Man Slam to advance in the NXT Breakout Tournament. Dakota Kai pinned Ember Moon with the Go To Kick. After the match, Xia Li confronted NXT Women's Champ Raquel Gonzalez. And that title match is now set for next week's show. It looks like Mandy Rose is back in NXT. She showed up on stage to watch the end of Sarray's win over Gigi Dolin. Later, Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter beat Aliyah & Jessie Kamea. After the match, Aliyah cut ties with Robert Stone...and beat the crap out of him. Franky Monet then came out to retrieve Kamea and Stone. Backstage...Monet, Kamea and Stone met up with Mandy Rose, who said “it looks like the Robert Stone Brand is under new management”. Santos Escobar got a little help from the rest of Legado Del Fantasma...and pinned Dexter Lumis. Legado Del Fantasma had a brief faceoff with Hit Row after the match. The Diamond Mine's Tyler Rust pinned Bobby Fish with a Buzzsaw Kick. The Mine's plan for a post match beatdown was interrupted by Kushida. Bronson Reed confronted Adam Cole...and got the better of a physical altercation between them. Cameron Grimes' first week as LA Knight's butler didn't quite go how Knight expected. Grimes spent his own considerable wealth to outsource all the chores he was assigned. (STINGER: Impact) A stipulation added to the Impact World Championship match at Saturday night's Slammiversary pay per view. Kenny Omega will now defend the title against Sami Callihan in a No Disqualification Match. The NWA held a news conference Tuesday to promote its back-to-back pay per views in St. Louis coming up next month. The all-women Empowerrr show on Saturday, August 28th will feature the NWA Women's Invitational Cup tournament. The winner will get a shot at the NWA Women's World Championship at the NWA's 73rd Anniversary pay per view the following day. The first announced entrant for the tournament is Tootie Lynn.
