(STINGER: AEW) 14,000 fans - the largest crowd to ever gather for an AEW event - will pack Chicago's United Center tonight. It's AEW Rampage: The First Dance. There's no doubt why all of those fans will be there. They are expecting to see CM Punk return to major professional wrestling for the first time in more than seven and a half years. AEW has confirmed NOTHING regarding Punk. BUT Tony Khan tweeted Thursday that a new era in AEW will begin tonight...and that “excitement from the most anticipated announcement in AEW history at Rampage...will build up through All Out”. There are some matches scheduled for tonight's show. The first match in the four-team Tag Team Eliminator Tournament: Jurassic Express vs. Private Party. Plus, Jade Cargill vs. Kiera Hogan...and Jon Moxley vs. Daniel Garcia. Garcia got a submission win over Matt Sydal on a special episode of Dark: Elevation that premiered Thursday night. Also on Thursday, AEW officially announced the signing of the tag team 2.0 - Matt Lee & Jeff Parker. (STINGER: Impact) The new Impact World Champion Christian Cage defends the title for the first time TONIGHT at Emergence. It's an Impact Plus exclusive show...starting at 7PM Eastern. Christian's challenger will be Brian Myers. Christian will NOT defend the TNA Championship. He retired the title on last night's Impact Wrestling. The next #1 contender for the Impact World Championship will be decided tonight in a 4-Way: Chris Sabin vs. Sami Callihan vs. Moose vs. Ace Austin. On last night's Impact...Sabin & Callihan beat Moose & Austin. Austin took the pin. Also on tonight's Emergence show...Josh Alexander defends the X-Division Title against Jake Something. The Good Brothers put their Impact Tag Titles on the line in a 3-Way against Violent By Design...and Rich Swann & Willie Mack. VBD's Joe Doering beat Doc Gallows in last night's Impact main event. At one point, Gallows drove Doering and himself through the floor of the entrance stage. But that was not the end. Doering rallied and pinned Gallows. Madison Rayne makes her in-ring return tonight against Taylor Wilde. Rayne announced her retirement back in January. Also tonight, Matt Cardona vs. Rohit Raju… Petey Williams vs. Steve Maclin… Knockouts Champ Deonna Purrazzo & Matthew Rehwoldt (ray-walt) vs. Melina & Trey Miguel… And Tasha Steelz, Savannah Evans, Fallah Bahh and No Way vs. Decay. (STINGER: ROH) Ring Of Honor is at Philadelphia's 2300 Arena tonight for the first of two Glory By Honor shows on back-to-back nights. Both shows will steam on Honor Club. Tonight's main event has Bandido defending the ROH World Title against Flip Gordon. Plus, Jonathan Gresham defends the Pure Title against fellow Foundation member Rhett Titus. (STINGER: WWE) As of Thursday night, WWE has yet to announce anything for tonight's SmackDown. It's the final stop before SummerSlam on Saturday night. WWE hosted a tryout in Las Vegas on Thursday. Afterward, Triple H told the invited media on hand that more than a dozen people were signed. WWE President Nick Khan was asked what the chances are that WWE will remain a standalone company in the next year. (Nick Khan WWE Future) That's Nick Khan speaking on “Recode Media with Peter Kafka”. On Thursday's NXT UK… Pretty Deadly had to cheat to do it...but they held onto their NXT UK Tag Titles against Moustache Mountain. Meiko Satomura submitted Stevie Turner to retain the NXT UK Women's Championship… Dani Luna beat Isla Dawn...but Dawn did manage to snatch a piece of Luna's hair so...little victories. Also, Saxon Huxley beat Eddie Dennis. The NWA announced Thursday that Ric Flair will appear on its 73rd Anniversary pay per view on August 29th. AEW's Diamante has been added to the talent lineup for the Empowerrr pay per view on August 28th. (STINGER: New Japan) Some fresh faces on tonight's New Japan Strong. Daniel Garcia makes his New Japan debut...teaming up with Fred Rosser & Fred Yehi against TJP, Clark Connors & Ren Narita. Also, Matt Morris - better known lately as Matthew Rehwoldt - has his first match in New Japan...against Alex Coghlin. Tonight's main event is Brody King & Chris Dickinson vs. The West Coast Wrecking Crew. Brody King told Wrestling Inc. that he tested positive for COVID-19...and that caused him to miss last weekend's New Japan Resurgence event. Minoru Suzuki will be a busy man during his visit to the U.S. this fall. Not only is he working dates for New Japan. He's also now announced for FOUR GCW shows across September and October. (STINGER: AEW) THREE title matches are set for tonight's premiere of AEW's new weekly series Rampage. Kenny Omega will defend the Impact World Championship against Christian Cage - the same man who will challenge Omega for the AEW Championship at All Out next month. Also tonight...Dr. Britt Baker defends the AEW Women's Championship against Red Velvet… And Miro puts the TNT Championship on the line against Fuego Del Sol. If Fuego wins, he doesn't just get the gold...he gets an AEW contract. Rampage airs tonight at 10PM Eastern on TNT. (STINGER: Impact) Whoever holds the Impact World Championship after tonight will defend it against Brian Myers…at the Impact Plus exclusive show Emergence...on Friday, August 20th. Myers earned the shot by winning a 20-man battle royal on last night's Impact. He dumped both Moose and Chris Sabin as they were battling one another to secure the victory. It was made very clear during the broadcast that Myers could challenge either Omega or Christian. In fact, Christian Cage himself appeared during the show in an interview with AEW's Alex Marvez. Another new match added to Emergence: Steve Maclin vs. Petey Williams. There was a pretty big upset last night. John Skyler pinned Matt Cardona...thanks in part to an outside distraction by Rohit Raju. Tenille Dashwood pinned Taylor Wilde after interference by Madison Rayne...the same Madison Rayne who announced her retirement back in January. Rayne and Dashwood embraced after the match. X-Division Champ Josh Alexander beat Daivari in a non-title match. FinJuice got a DQ win over Jay White & Chris Bey...after White blatantly attacked David Finlay and Juice Robinson with a steel chair. White is set to defend his NEVER Openweight Title against Finlay at Saturday night's New Japan Resurgence show in Los Angeles. Su Yung is BACK. She and a newly “undead” version of Kimber Lee attacked Kiera Hogan...who was dragged backstage by her hair. (STINGER: WWE) Keith Lee discussed the health issues that caused him to miss months of action. In a video posted Thursday, Lee went through his year...from contracting COVID-19 in January...to doctors later finding inflammation in his heart. Lee said he had to cease almost all physical activity while doctors decided what to do next. (Lee Heart Inflammation) That clip from that video Lee posted on Thursday. Lee said he's healthy now. He returned to Raw last month. As of Thursday night there are no matches announced for tonight's SmackDown...but we're being promised an appearance by John Cena for a face-to-face confrontation with Roman Reigns. 205 Live enters a new era tonight - a week after its roster lost a number of regulars to the latest round of cuts. A preview on WWE.com says the brand “will now occasionally play host to matches where one or multiple Superstars eclipse the 205-pound weight limit”. That's the reasoning for tonight's match between Joe Gacy and Josh Briggs. There's also a match between two true cruiserweights - Ikemen Jiro vs. Grayson Waller. On Thursday's NXT UK… Noam Dar beat Mark Andrews 2 falls to 1...in the first round of the Heritage Cup #1 Contender tournament. Also, Wolfgang beat Flash Morgan Webster...and Amale beat Nina Samuels. There will be TWO title matches on next week's show. NXT's Candice LeRae and Johnny Gargano announced Thursday that they are expecting their first child. The Great Muta has been pulled from Sunday's Pro-Wrestling NOAH show...due to Muta possibly coming into contact with someone who has COVID-19. NOAH calls the move “precautionary” Nosawa Rongai will take Muta's place on the show - tagging with GHC Heavyweight Champ Naomichi Marufuji against HAYATA and Ogawa Yoshinari. (STINGER: WWE) Fresh off his release from WWE, Andrade spoke at length for the first time about his final days with the company….in an interview with Lucha Libre Online's Hugo Savinovich. Thanks to translation efforts of Luchablog and others..we can tell you the biggest bombshell from the interview. Andrade said his fiancee Charlotte Flair was pulled from WrestleMania because a WWE doctor suspected she was pregnant. TalkSport's Alex McCarthy later shared a statement from Charlotte's camp. It confirmed Charlotte was “medically suspended for pregnancy” for a number of days after a test detected high levels of the hormone hGC. Follow-up tests showed she is NOT pregnant. The statement said all this happened just before Charlotte tested positive for COVID-19. Andrade told Savinovich he also tested positive for COVID-19 at the same time. Charlotte's camp stated she's now medically cleared following her illness. On last night's Raw...both Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander were kicked out of The Hurt Business by WWE Champ Bobby Lashley. Later, Lashley beat Benjamin in a non-title match. Lashley wants someone to take out Drew McIntyre before WrestleMania, and he's offering up Drew's title shot as the prize. Ricochet and Mustafa Ali both tried their luck against McIntyre in back-to-back matches toward the end of Raw. Both of them lost. SmackDown's King Corbin then ran in to try to take down McIntyre. That didn't really work out. So Lashley beat down McIntyre himself as Raw went off the air. Another non-title match last night saw Sheamus PINNED the United States Champ Riddle with a Brogue Kick. The rematch - with Riddle's title on the line - was later made for Night 2 of WrestleMania. Braun Strowman decided last night he wants Shane McMahon inside a Steel Cage on Night 1 of Mania. Naomi pinned one-half of the WWE Women's Tag Champs, Shayna Baszler, but Baszler and Nia Jax quickly moved on to other matters. They challenged the Raw Women's Champ Asuka and her Mania opponent Rhea Ripley to a match. This came after their contract signing where Ripley flipped the table and essentially knocked out Asuka. Ripley accepted the challenge on Asuka's behalf. That match is set for next week's Raw. Samoa Joe was not on commentary last night. MVP was filling in for him. No specific reason for Joe's absence was mentioned. Rob Van Dam is the latest inductee announced for the WWE Hall Of Fame. DraftKings will be the official gaming partner of WWE. The companies announced the deal Monday. It'll launch in time to take your bets on matches at WrestleMania. Backstage interviewer Charly Caruso is leaving WWE for a full-time deal at ESPN. (STINGER: Impact) Tonight's Impact Wrestling is promoting COWBOY James Storm''s 1,000th match in Impact. He'll mark the occasion with a match against Eric Young. We're promised another appearance by AEW Champ Kenny Omega and Don Callis. Also tonight, Ace Austin & Mad Man Fulton vs. Josh Alexander & TJP…Sami Callihan vs. Larry D...and Brian Myers vs. Suicide. Tonight's NWA Powerrr has The Pope defending the NWA TV Title against Fred Rosser. (STINGER: AEW) Last night's AEW Dark: Elevation - clocked in at 2 hours and 24 minutes. Scorpio Sky beat Mike Sydal in the main event. After the match, Ethan Page ran out to attack MATT Sydal...and he and Sky left together. Private Party beat Bear Country. After that match, Bear Country got into it with Jurassic Express. QT Marshall and Lee Johnson teamed up for the first time in AEW. They got the win, and more importantly, they seemed to get along. (STINGER: ROH) Ring Of Honor COO Joe Koff was asked when we may see live fans once again at ROH events. (Koff On Live Fans) Koff speaking on the “ROH Strong” podcast. On ROH's weekend TV...Fred Yehi won a Pure Rules Gauntlet Match - sealing the win by submitting Wheeler Yuta. Also, Mike Bennett and the Beer City Bruiser went to a no contest. Bruiser was poised to attack Bennett with a broken beer bottle, and that was enough for the ref to call off the match. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan is running another Road To Sakura Genesis show this morning. It'll include the public unveiling of the new IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. (STINGER: WWE) Today was supposed to be the day - but instead, WWE announced last night that the ticket sales for WrestleMania are on hold - being moved as “plans for the event are still being finalized.” WWE is promising to announce a new on-sale date within the next week. This didn't prevent WWE from announcing TWO title matches for WrestleMania during last night's Raw. One of the main events is set - Bobby Lashley defending the WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre. Also announced for Mania - The New Day's Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods will defend the Raw Tag Titles they just won from The Hurt Business on last night's Raw. They'll be challenged by AJ Styles and Omos, who'll be making his in-ring debut at WrestleMania. We got some matches made for Fastlane coming up on Sunday. McIntyre will face Sheamus. McIntyre submitted The Miz with The Hurt Lock on last night's Raw. Sheamus lost to Lashley in the Raw main event. Shane McMahon and Braun Strowman were set for a match last night, but Shane used a video camera to get the jump on Braun...and got him in position to hit his elbow drop from the top rope through the announce table. Then, Shane dumped GREEN GOO on Braun. Shane and Braun are now set for a rematch at Fastlane. Alexa Bliss issued a challenge to Randy Orton, and WWE says those two will go one-on-one at Fastlane. Also last night, Riddle retained the United States Championship against Mustafa Ali. Women's Champion Asuka returned to Raw...snuck in a pin on Shayna Baszler...and then continued to beatdown after the match...as she sought vengeance for the kick to the face from Baszler that put her out of action. Bad Bunny relinquished the 24/7 Championship to R-Truth Later, Bad Bunny was laid out in the ring by a guitar shot from The Miz. (STINGER: AEW) Tony Khan announced Monday that LEGIT Leyla Hirsch has officially signed with AEW. Khan also appeared in-person on last night's debut episode of AEW Dark: Elevation...and made a non-title match between AEW Champ Kenny Omega and Matt Sydal for NEXT WEEK's Dynamite. The debut episode of AEW Dark: Elevation had a runtime of just over two hours. Riho beat Maki Itoh in the main event. QT Marshall beat Marko Stunt. After the match, QT just walked away as PRETTY Peter Avalon and his crew ran out to beat up Stunt. Also, Max Caster from The Acclaimed beat Top Flight's Dante Martin. (STINGER: Impact) Tonight's Impact Wrestling will spotlight a couple key feuds that were not featured on last Saturday's Sacrifice show... This week on Wrestling Omakase it's Jake ([@oatgan](https://twitter.com/Oatgan))'s pick for winning our 2018 Champions Fantasy Draft, and he chose to have us watch a rather infamous show: FIP Everything Burns 2017! At his behest we're also joined by the hosts of the now ex-podcast Everything Evolves, Aaron Taube ([@aptaube](https://twitter.com/aptaube)) & Aaron Bentley ([@aaronlikethecar](https://twitter.com/aaronlikethecar)). Journey back to 1/8/17 and the early days of the FloSlam era of WWN, as Gabe promised a new era would begin for this long-running indie promotion. He also promised an EDGY~! new direction, which results in a LOT of cursing on this show. This show is very strange, only running about 2 hours and 15 minutes but featuring nearly as much talking as wrestling. It also features a weird mix of guys who have popped up all over the rest of WWN/the indies in general after this (Austin Theory, Fred Yehi, Sami Callahan, Jason Kincaid, etc.) and guys who have barely been seen again (Teddy Stigma! others!). We talk hecklers, PLANTS, cursing ring announcers, and much more. Plus, we answer some of your questions, discuss how the Aarons are feeling just a couple days after announcing the end of their own podcast, and more! It's a weird trip back to a weird time for US indie wrestling, this week! Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brands Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
