In this episode, Shaykh Muhammad Alshareef (rA) dives deep into something many Muslims struggle with - making Dua for years without seeing results and wondering "maybe Allah doesn't want this for me." He shares his personal journey with trying to pray Fajr in the masjid for 30+ years while battling insomnia. The breakthrough came when he realized it wasn't about Allah rejecting his dua - it was about his strategy. That's the good news he wants to share: those Duas you thought would never be answered might just need the right approach. Shaykh (rA) explores different types of Duas - some happen immediately (like his childhood Ramadan story), while others require effort and strategic planning. Just like building a house requires more than just money for construction, our bigger duas often need foundations and multi-level planning. It's time to elevate our Duas beyond just jobs, houses, and cars. He challenges listeners to develop a decade-long vision, because an excellent life never happens by accident - just as we tell non-Muslims that the universe's excellence proves Allah's existence!Learn from prophetic examples like Nuh (AS) building the ark and Musa (AS) leaving comfort to free Bani Israel. Their stories show that even miraculous outcomes required strategic effort first.

Mockery, humiliation, rejection—these were the brutal challenges the Prophet ﷺ faced in the early years of his mission. Yet, in the face of such torment, Allah revealed a powerful command: Proclaim the truth and turn away from those who mock you. Surah Al-Hijr reminds us that every messenger sent to guide humanity was met with ridicule—from Nuh (AS) to Musa (AS) to Isa (AS). Their people mocked them, belittled them, and resisted the divine message. But in every case, Allah's promise held true—those who opposed the truth were ultimately defeated. This message is for us today. As we see Islam mocked and attacked in our time, as we face opposition for upholding the truth, do we hesitate? Do we soften our stance? Or do we stand as the Prophet ﷺ did—fearless, unwavering, relying on Allah alone? Source: https://www.instagram.com/abdulwahid101010/reel/DHC-xkDRbZs/

The story of Al Khidr occurred during the prophethood of Musa (AS). By all accounts, Al Khidr was extremely wise and pious, and was granted knowledge from the Kingdom of Allah. Some scholars speculate that he was a prophet, however, there is no conclusive evidence in the Qur'an or Sunnah on this. The story begins with the assertion by Musa (AS) to his people that he was the most learned amongst them. As a result, he was immediately reprimanded by Allah, and in fact Allah corrected him and told him that there was someone more learned.

Why is the month of Rajab so honoured? What is the distinction of completing Umrah in Rajab? Why is it a sunnat to do roza in the entire month of Rajab? Why do we commemorate with worship on the 1st night of Rajab, 13th, 14th and 15th of Rajab (Ayyamul Beez), and the 27th night and day of Rajab (Me'raj and Mab'as)? We live in a world today where we are constantly judged and criticised about everything and anything. It's no wonder that many of us have come to hold ourselves back from sharing our real thoughts and feelings and hold ourselves back from taking certain decisions and actions- in order to avoid all the hurt. But in doing so we must realise we are actually hurting ourselves. The reality is that the only way we can ever completely avoid criticism is by saying nothing, doing nothing and being no one..which just isn't an option when we only have one shot at this dunya! But the good news is that we can protect our emotional wellbeing whilst still being open to constructive feedback when we learn to distinguish what's actually toxic and what isn't within the feedback we receive. This is important and more difficult then we assume when much of the toxic criticism hurled our way these days are disguised as gifts of unsolicited 'naseeha'/'beneficial advice'. So in this video you will learn 5 key indicators of toxic criticism learnt from the story of prophet Musa (AS) within the Quran, to help you gain more clarity on what’s actually potentially dangerous to your wellbeing, so that you can have more CONFIDENCE to share your true thoughts and feelings more freely and so that you can feel more at peace when making the decisions and taking the actions you want and need to move forward in life inshAllah.    Nasheed by: Hammoud Al-Khader

Shaykh Amin dwells on the reference to the “right side” and Musa's (AS) etiquette in his approach to the fire, among other things.Part of the symbolism in throwing down his staff lay in discarding any object or idea that Musa (AS) deemed a source of protection for himself. There is no other protector when in the presence of Allah (S). The reaction of Musa (AS) at the sight of the serpent is in line with the adab of being human. When a danger is perceived, then precautions must be taken, which is evident from Musa's (AS) immediate attempt to flee from the reach of the serpent. A dub made without due preparation is futile. But when the command is explicit, the nabi obeys without fear or reservation, as manifested in Musa's (AS) behavior when Allah (S) commands him to grab hold of the serpent, as described in a different ayah.

28:29-35. After fulfilling his appointed term, Musa (AS) travels with his ahl (his wife) towards Egypt when he perceives a fire in the distance. Shaykh Amin dwells on the reference to the “right side” and Musa’s (AS) etiquette in his approach to the fire, among other things.Part of the symbolism in throwing down his staff lay in discarding any object or idea that Musa (AS) deemed a source of protection for himself. There is no other protector when in the presence of Allah (S). The reaction of Musa (AS) at the sight of the serpent is in line with the adab of being human. When a danger is perceived, then precautions must be taken, which is evident from Musa’s (AS) immediate attempt to flee from the reach of the serpent. A dub made without due preparation is futile. But when the command is explicit, the nabi obeys without fear or reservation, as manifested in Musa’s (AS) behavior when Allah (S) commands him to grab hold of the serpent, as described in a different ayah.

28:22-28. Shaykh Amin paints a mental state of Musa's (AS) mental state soon after his flight from Egypt. It is not possible for a Nabi to be pessimistic, and Musa (AS) puts his trust in Allah (S), acknowledging his own strengths and abilities even as he makes his way towards Madyan. His conversation with the two young ladies by the well stems from genuine concern, not from idle curiosity. Musa (AS) reflects the adab characteristic of a Nabi in that after he assists people, he turns aside from them and seeks help from Allah (S) instead. Prophets also separate Allah's fadl from their actions. They do not ascribe any good to themselves, rather they attribute all good to Allah (S) alone.

28:14-21. The upbringing of Musa (AS) is comparable to that of Yusuf (AS), except that Musa (AS) was raised a prince under the very eye of the emperor himself. Consequently, he was privy to the lives of the Egyptian aristocracy and the inner workings of the government machine. He was also well-equipped with the knowledge, skills and sophistication befitting a prince. Three women are included in the reach of the word, "muhsineen", in this verse: the mother and sister of Musa (AS), and the queen who raised him. Their reward lay in Musa (AS) becoming the wise, knowledgeable young man that he came to be, prepared to play the role that he was destined for. Shaykh Amin calls out the relevance of this verse to our lives as parents watching over and raising children in our times. Our motives must also be to raise children who do good. We must not pollute our motives with petty and self-serving intentions that for that would only deprive us, as children have a mind of their own. The following verses cover Musa's (AS) act that resulted in the death of a man, his expression of tawbah to Allah (S), and the events that led to his flight from Egypt. Shaykh Amin reminds us that Musa (AS) follows the sunnah of Aadam (AS) in seeing fault within himself and in the influences of shaytaan. This is the way of the pious. Whereas Yusuf (AS) was sent to prison (a confined space), Musa (AS) was sent into exile. This is a part of Musa's (AS) reflections on tawheed. Prophets will always choose a place that facilitiates their free worship of Allah (S) be it within the walls of a prison or the vast openness of the wilderness.

28:7-13. The session begins with a discussion of the word wahy and it's specific usage for the primoridal instinct of a mother to nurse her child. Wahy may come to certain individuals, but the reception of wahy does not make the recipient a Nabi. The distinction is that a Nabi is required to reveal the wahy received, while a non-Nabi is required to conceal it. The wisdom behind the inspiration that the mother of Musa (AS) received lies in the fact that ordinarily there would be no motivation to suckle a child that is destined to be slain by the police of the Fir'awn. But the mother of Musa (AS) was inspired to nurse him. And the rest of her actions that are borne by the wahy she received defiy all logic and rationale. Wahy is above all logic and rationale. It comes from a realm where the seemingly contradictory come together in perfect harmony. This verse embodies a universal parenting philosophy with the mother of Musa (AS) serving as a role model.

28:1-6. In this session, Shaykh Amin presents an introduction to Surah Al-Qasas. Where the preceding surah, Al-Naml, deals with the affairs of Sulayman (AS), a nabi who was privileged with dominion over man, beast and jinn, Surah Al-Qasas deals with the challenges of Musa (AS). Musa (AS) is the underprivileged Nabi who struggles with leading his tribes, a difficult and irreverent people, out of the clutches of Fir'aun. The Shaykh reiterates the wisdom behind our lack of undertanding of the harf al-muqatta'aat, the broken letters that begin certain chapters, of which Al-Qasas is one. Submission to the will of the Divine lies in the paradaox of the eloquent Arab who is able to comprehend compound words constructed with letters, yet is confounded by the meanings of the letters themselves when they are placed in Divine order. This is a mu'jizah of Allah (S).
