It's Friday, May 1st, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus United Nations urges Pakistan to ban forced conversions and marriages On April 22nd, a United Nations-appointed body urged Pakistan to intensify efforts to eradicate Islamic forced conversions and marriages, noting that young Christian girls consistently fall victim to Islamist coercion, reports MorningStarNews.org. To prevent forced conversions and marriages, Pakistan was urged to raise the minimum age of marriage to 18 across all territories, criminalize forced religious conversion, and enforce laws related to human trafficking and sexual violence. Isaiah 59:7 says, “Their feet run to evil. … They pursue evil schemes; acts of violence mark their ways.” Hegseth to Democrat: “Your hatred for President Trump blinds you.” War Secretary Pete Hegseth delivered a blistering rebuke to Democratic Rep. John Garamendi of California, slamming the congressman for labeling the conflict in Iran a "quagmire" during a heated exchange, reports the New York Post. HEGSETH: "When I said reckless, feckless, and defeatist of congressional Democrats at the beginning that came after watching you say the same thing on CNN this morning: ‘a quagmire.' “My generation served in a ‘quagmire' in Iraq and Afghanistan. Years and years of nebulous missions and utopian nation-building that led us to nothing. “The way you stain the troops when you tell them two months in, Congressman, you should know better. Shame on you! Calling this a quagmire two months in. The effort, what they've undertaken, the success on the battlefield that creates strategic opportunities. The courage of a president to confront a nuclear Iran. And you call it a quagmire, handing propaganda to our enemies. “Shame on you for that statement and statements like that are reckless to our troops. Don't say, ‘I support the troops.' on one hand, and then, a two-month mission is a ‘quagmire.' Who are you cheering for here? Who you pulling for? “Our troops are doing incredible work. They've done incredible things for the entirety of this mission and achieved incredible battlefield successes. And you sit there, and go on TV for your click bait, about ‘quagmires.' It undermines the mission. “Your hatred for President Trump blinds you to the truth of the success of this mission and the historic stakes that the President is addressing which the American people support.” GOP Congressman to pro-abort: “What's your favorite form of abortion?” On April 21st, a judiciary hearing in the House of Representatives grew tense when Republican Congressman Brandon Gill of Texas pressed American University scholar Jessica Waters in graphic detail on which abortion procedure she would list as her favorite, reported FoxNews. Listen. GILL: “You're an advocate for abortion, for abortion policy. What's your favorite type of abortion?” WATERS: “I am an advocate for patients having access to the full realm of reproductive health care.” GILL: “But do you have a preferred method of abortion that you like?” WATERS: “I do not.” GILL: “Let me read through a couple different methods, and I want to get your take on how much you like these. The first type is called a suction abortion. This is when the cervix is dilated and a strong suction, 29 times the power of a household vacuum cleaner, tears the baby's body apart and sucks it through the hose into a container. Do you prefer that method?” WATERS: “I stand by my former testimony.” GILL: “That sounds kind of gross, doesn't it? It sounds pretty gruesome. Do you agree? It does to me.” WATERS: “I stand by, um, how I answered your question fully and accurately.” GILL: “Okay. What about this one? This one is called dilation and curettage. After dilation of the cervix, a sharp, looped knife is inserted into the uterus. The baby's body is cut into pieces and extracted, often by suction. Do you prefer that method?” WATERS: “What I believe we are here to talk about today is the [Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances] Act. We are not here to talk about the legality of …” GILL: “You're a pro-abortion advocate. I'm asking if you prefer the dilation and curettage method.” WATERS: “I am access to reproductive health care advocate.” GILL: “You don't want to talk about abortion itself. Why is that?” WATERS: “I would prefer to talk about the reason that the committee called the hearing.” GILL: “Is it because it's uncomfortable to talk about? It should be uncomfortable.” WATERS: “I would prefer, if you would let me finish my statement, to talk about Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, which is what I was asked to talk about.” GILL: “We're talking about what that access gets. How about this one? It's called dilation and evacuation. Forceps are inserted into the uterus, grabbing and twisting the baby's body to dismember him or her. If the head is too large, it must be crushed in order to remove it. Do you prefer that method?” WATERS: “I would prefer to talk about the reason the hearing was called and the basis of my expert testimony.” GILL: “It's uncomfortable to hear this, isn't it? I think it is because it's barbaric and evil.” WATERS:  “I would prefer to talk about the subject of the hearing.” GILL: “This is the subject of the hearing. This is about protests outside of abortion clinics. I'm asking you about abortion.” WATERS: “I stand by my prior testimony.” GILL: “I wouldn't want to talk about this either if I were you, because it is barbaric and evil.” Proverbs 31:8 says, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.” To thank Texas Republican Congressman Brandon Gill for his unapologetic description of the evil of abortion, send him a two-sentence thank you note to Rep. Brandon Gill, 600 Parker Square, Suite 205, Flower Mound, Texas 75028. Or call his D.C. office at (202) 225-7772. Maine Governor, a liberal Republican, drops out of Senate race And finally, liberal Republican Governor Janet Mills has suspended her candidacy for the U.S. Senate. She announced, "I very simply do not have the one thing that political campaigns unfortunately require today: the financial resources." A year ago, in the midst of the debate over men in women's sports and locker rooms, President Trump predicted the political demise of Governor Mills, to her face, at the White House. Listen. TRUMP: “Two weeks ago, I signed an executive order banning men from playing in women's sports. Many Democrats are fighting me on that. I hope you continue, because you'll never win another race. The NCAA has complied immediately, by the way. That's good. But I understand Maine … Is Maine here?  The governor of Maine? Are you not going to comply with it?” MILLS: “I'm complying with state and federal laws.” TRUMP: “We are the federal law. Well, you better do it. You better do it, because you're not going to get any federal funding at all if you don't. “And by the way, your population, even though it's somewhat liberal, although I did very well there, your population doesn't want men playing in women's sports. So, you better, you better comply, because otherwise you're not getting any, any federal funding. MILLS: “See you in court.” TRUMP: “Good. I'll see you in court. I look forward to that. That should be a real easy one. And enjoy your life after Governor, because I don't think you'll be in elected politics.” That leaves Graham Platner, a controversial candidate, as the Democrat front runner in the upcoming June 9th primary. He's been endorsed by Senate leftists Bernie Sanders of Vermont, Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Ruben Gallego of Arizona, and Martin Heinrich of New Mexico. While GOP incumbent Senator Susan Collins of Maine has a Republican challenger in the June primary, she's likely to win and then run for a sixth term in the November general election. 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday: Anansi & The Pot of All Wisdom

Hello to you listening in the Town of Flower Mound, Texas!  Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds (and a bit more for a story) for Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga.   Long ago, Father Sky gave Anansi the spider a large clay pot. This pot contained all the wisdom in the world - every secret, every solution, every insight that had ever been or ever would be. Anansi was thrilled. He clutched the pot close to his chest and began climbing up the tallest tree in the forest, thinking he would hide the pot at the very top where only he could reach it. All that wisdom would be his alone. But as he climbed the pot grew heavier and heavier. Wisdom kept spilling over the sides and falling like rain on the forest floor below. The harder Anansi tried to hold onto the pot and the tree the more wisdom fell to earth. From far below his young son called up: "Father, wouldn't it have been easier to tie the pot to your back?” Anansi stopped climbing. His own child had wisdom he didn't possess. He looked down at the forest floor where the spilled wisdom was taking root: flowers of understanding blooming, streams of compassion flowing, creatures gathering to drink from pools of imagination that sparkled in the sunlight. In that moment, Anansi knew he was wrong. He hurled the pot down from the tree where it shattered on the forest floor. All the wisdom scattered to the winds, settling into every corner of the world. That is why the old ones say no one person holds all the wisdom. It lives in each of us, waiting to be shared, waiting to be joined with others, waiting to become something greater than any one person could create alone. Story Prompt: What is the singular wisdom that you hold in your story that is ready to be shared? Write that story and tell it out loud!   You're always welcome: "Come for the stories - Stay for the magic!" I did a quick trip update at the start, including a brief discussion of how to get yourself stuck in ice when you are 54 feet long and 13.5 feet tall and weigh 24,000 pounds. But most of the program was a discussion of last night's dialogue with Dr. Yasir Qadhi at the mosque in Flower Mound, what we discussed, and, more importantly, how we approach the task of being a Christian witness to our Muslim friends and neighbors. Then I discussed the slanderous video produced by @onlythus on Instagram, and reposted by @AlexDuncanTX lying about Dr. Qadhi in a very obvious and surface level way, and how this is utterly in opposition to Christian calling and practice. Finally, at the end of the hour, I commented on Joel Webbon's lame response to Doug Wilson and his incessant use of the "victim card."

Are you ready to live with intention and adjust your mindset to be fully equipped to handle anything life throws at you? The reality is that you were made for this exact moment in human history. Things may look gloomy, and you may feel discouraged, but because of the promise and hope found in Scripture, you can be brave, confident, and victorious today! Joining us today on the podcast to remind us of the overcoming power, love, and grace that we get the opportunity of clinging to and finding victory in is renowned pastor, elder, and author, Matt Chandler! Matt has served over 20 years as the Lead Pastor at The Village Church in Flower Mound, TX which recently transitioned its 5 campuses into their own autonomous churches. He is also the Executive Chairman of the Acts 29 Network, a large church planting community that trains and equips church planters across the globe. In today’s conversation, Matt joins Zach & Josh to unpack his most recent book, The Overcomers which takes a chapter-by-chapter view of Revelation rather than a line-by-line deep dive, helping readers practically understand what God wants to say to us today through this extraordinary book written thousands of years ago. He also talks about how we should view current events, knowing that the writers of the New Testament understood themselves to be living in the “end times” or “last days.” Believers will be reminded that they are uniquely wired and uniquely placed in this moment in history as part of God’s big plan to push back darkness and to establish light. Christ has overcome, and in Him we, too, are the overcomers! How to Generate Better B2B Leads That Convert (Ask Jeb)

Sales Gravy: Jeb Blount

Wes from Flower Mound, Texas, has a familiar challenge: how to attract more qualified B2B leads and convert them before they slip away. He's already tried a variety of channels, including inside sales, social media, and email, but is struggling to ramp up both volume and quality. Below are the key insights from our conversation, along with practical strategies to multiply your lead count and build a system that secures face-to-face meetings with the right buyers. Why a Multi-Channel Strategy Matters There's rarely a single magic trick that opens the floodgates of perfect leads. In B2B lead gen often requires multiple touch points before prospects even see why they need to talk to you. A blend of outbound prospecting, inbound content marketing, and nurturing activities generally works best. The sum of these efforts can accelerate your pipeline more effectively than leaning on one channel alone. Lead with Pain-Focused Messaging If you expect busy decision-makers to respond, talk about their pain—not your credentials. It's easier to draw someone in by asking a question they can't ignore: “Is high turnover costing you millions in lost productivity?” or “Has rapid growth left your culture in shambles?” The goal is to make them nod in agreement before they realize they're reading a marketing pitch. That's when they self-select into your funnel and become receptive to a follow-up call. Close the Speed-to-Lead Gap Wes wanted advice on better leads, but high-quality leads can still go cold if your response lags. Once someone opts in or fills out a form, you have a limited window to capitalize on that interest. Even a 30-minute delay can drop contact rates dramatically. Set strict targets for response time and measure them. Make phone calls the first touch whenever possible, not a generic email. Remind them that prospects seeking help have a pressing trigger event—act fast, or they'll move on. Enhance Leads With Thought Leadership Touches Because B2B solutions aren't often top-of-mind until there's an obvious buying window, thought leadership and content marketing are critical. Position your business as a problem-solver. Short webinars, white papers, or case studies can showcase real transformations you've facilitated. Offer timely webinars on pain points you see trending in your market. Gate them with a simple registration form to capture new leads. Follow up quickly, ideally within hours, to schedule a deeper conversation. Stay Narrow on Your Ideal Customer Profile Wes asked whether to target a handful of organizations deeply or go wide. In B2B, sales randomness is the enemy of effectiveness. Identify the types of companies—size, leadership style, growth trajectory—that consistently need your help. Zero in on those decision-makers who likely hold budget authority, whether that's a CEO, COO, or line-of-business leader. Aim higher first and multi-thread down later, if needed. Ace the Last Mile It's one thing to get leads in the door and another to turn them into appointments. That “last mile” is where your marketing spend either pays off or gets wasted. By the time leads get to you, they're often aware of a problem. Your job is to connect that problem to a tangible path forward: Coach reps to identify the pain, clarify it, and propose a next step. Track and revisit call recordings or email exchanges to spot recurring objections. If you see a pattern—like pricing concerns—equip your team with a fast, concise way to handle it without sinking the opportunity. Keep Tweaking and Testing Even the most robust strategy will fade if you aren't iterating. Launch new ad campaigns in short sprints, measure cost per lead, and pivot quickly if the numbers don't add up. Tweak email subject lines and social copy. Identify high-potential communities (like certain LinkedIn groups or niche events) where your target ICP congregates. Expect to experiment regularly to keep your funnel active. Generating better B2B leads means speaking directly to your prospects' pain, providing a fast path to get help, and ensuring your team engages the moment an opportunity appears. Avoid random broad strokes—focus on the segment where you repeatedly succeed. Combine outbound and inbound activities for maximum coverage. Most importantly, never let leads linger. Speed and empathy on the first call often mean the difference between closing a 90% prospect and watching them vanish. If you have a question for me, head to salesgravy.com/ask and let me know what's on your mind.
