This week, we return to another episode from 2021, when we spoke with Will Marshall, Co-founder and CEO of Planet Labs(NYSE:PL). Planet provides data services drawn from its fleet of about 200 satellites that generate a complete image of the earth's surface every day. It just celebrated its first quarter of EBITDA profitability, but at the time, it was still working to close its combination with dMY Technology Group IV. Niccolo de Masi, who at the time steered dMY IV, also joined to explain the investment case for Planet and the private space industry more broadly. Many of those space ventures that combined with SPACs are now booming despite equity market headwinds. But, what did the pathway to the stars look like four years ago, and what challenges remain?

The CPGGUYS are joined in this episode by Niccolo Gloazzo from Kettle & Fire who represents one the fastest growing bone broths in the category. We met Niccolo at shoptalk Barcelona out in Spain and a casual conversation led to a podcast on omnichannel leadership and what's needed for today's media mastery including winning and retaining customers and households.Find Niccolo Gloazzo's on Linkedin at : https://www.linkedin.com/in/nicogloazzo/Find Kettle & Fire on Linkedin at : Find Kettle & Fire online at : https://www.kettleandfire.com/Here's what we asked him : 1. You have been in this tech led Omnichannel space now for a decade plus. What are some learnings for you and what surprised you?2. What a wild whacky 4 years for retail media. The large brands have brought out the full budgets. How does a smaller brand like yours compete?3. How are you investing your media $ today? Are you leaning on certain platforms and are platforms created equal?4. Measurement - what metrics do you look for in a world where there is limited standardization?5. How do you ensure your teams are staying abreast of trends and changes in this space? Tell us about the importance of conferences and what matters?6. Right now there is coupon craziness - all the digital coupon providers are having a field day. To me this is not sustainable. It's teaching the consumer a very wrong behavior. That's coming at the expense of a stalled budget on retail media. What is your advice on retail media budgets go forward?7. Can we discuss pieces of retail media - Search, offsite, onsite - banner ads, social. What is considered a good investment - a mix of all or focusing heavily on search like it is today?8. Hello, Crime Family. Have a seat, and let's get into Episode 96.Frank Tranter was a 74-year-old retired man living in the Lion Farm Estate in West Midlands, England. His health was seriously failing him, he was nearly blind, and he lived alone in his semi-detached bungalow. All he wanted to do was listen to music and wave at his neighbors out the window. But, no. Along came a group of no-goods who had to take those little pleasures, and everything else, away from Frank. Our survivor this episode is Monti Niccolo, a 22-year-old who loved hunting, fishing, and California wilderness camping. Wilderness camping can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing, but Monti did. He knew very well how to take care of himself. So when he came across two people who had deadly intentions, Monti had to call upon his will to survive. And survive, he did! My announcement in this episode is that I'm going to be releasing only one episode per month, because I just don't have enough time to research, write, record, edit, and produce more than that on top of my day job and my fixer-upper house. But if I find that i have the time, I will put out some extras now and then. In this episode, Niccolo Stomeo, an anaesthesia and intensive care resident at Humanitas University in Milan, joins us to discuss his groundbreaking study on the role of remote teleradiology, X-ray, and POCUS at mass motorcycle events. Nico shares his firsthand experience from the 2021 International Six Days of Enduro, a challenging and dynamic race spanning a vast area between Lombardia and Piemonte in Italy. Throughout the conversation, we delve into the utility, limitations, and decision-making benefits of having portable digital X-ray and telemedicine available in remote field hospital settings. Nico highlights the importance of having a full team, including a radiology technician, nurses, doctors, and an orthopaedic surgeon, to maximise the effectiveness of this technology. We explore the challenges faced during the study, such as power supply, radiation exposure, and the need for reliable Wi-Fi and cellular connections to enable remote consultation with radiologists. Nico also shares the direct benefits observed, including the ability to provide definitive treatment on-site, reduce the burden on local healthcare systems, and allow athletes to continue racing when injuries are ruled out. Looking towards the future, Nico emphasises the need for larger, well-controlled studies to further validate the findings and improve external validity. He also stresses the importance of data collection and analysis in pre-hospital care settings to identify areas for improvement and advance the quality of care provided. Join us for this captivating discussion on the cutting-edge of emergency medicine in extreme environments, and discover how remote teleradiology is shaping the future of medical care at mass sporting events.

Teach your son to do the best he can with what God has given him. Violinist Niccolo Paganini was playing a piece in front of an audience when, one by one, his violin strings began to snap. Finally, Niccolo was left with only one single working string. Unfazed, he finished the piece on the single string he had left. This is a wonderful example of focusing on our strengths. Our Creator has a specific purpose for every young man's life. But sometimes, it's easy for boys to only look at their weaknesses and decide that they aren't equipped to do great things. Instead, help your son focus on his strengths, and offer those to God. After all, our Lord can create beautiful music with any number of violin strings. For more ideas for raising boys to be godly men, visit Trail Life USA or RaisingGodlyBoys.com.

This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit public.substack.comFor a moment last week, the war in Ukraine appeared to have arrived at an almost inconceivable turning point. The Wagner Group, a brutal mercenary army the Kremlin deploys to conduct off-book military operations around the world, from Mali to Syria, did an about-face from its position in Ukraine and invaded the motherland. In the course of their rebellion, Wagner troops shot down five Russian helicopters and a valuable command plane. Rostov-on-Don, a Russian city of a million people near the Ukrainian border that serves as the hub of Russia's military operations in Ukraine, fell to Wagner without a shot being fired. Then the mercenary army began moving north toward Moscow.A world-historical event seemed to be underway — possibly a coup d'etat. “Russia Slides Into Civil War,” a headline to a story by Anne Applebaum in The Atlantic screamed. “Is Putin facing his Czar Nicholas II moment?” read Applebaum's subheadline, referring to the last monarch of Russia, who was executed in the Russian Revolution. But then the storm subsided almost as quickly as it began. Within 24 hours, a settlement had been reached. Wagner forces stood down, and Putin absolved them of any criminal charges for their act of treason. Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of Wagner and the leader of the insurrection, took refuge in Belarus, where he was promised the same amnesty. The fraught and bizarre series of events reflected the madness of the war in Ukraine.

In a sense, that's true: Russia's invasion of the country is morally indefensible. It's hard to imagine even the most cynical pretext for cheering Moscow on. Fortunately, nobody is doing that. Not even Oliver Stone. But one need not side with Putin to wo…
