This fight was probably the most important fight to get that chance to have the Olympic gold medal. I received a head kick with two seconds to go, and two seconds just wasn't enough to get the points back.”Jordan was on the pathway to Tokyo Olympics 2020 when he missed his dream by two seconds. Nicole Bremner is a business owner, investor, property developer, public speaker, podcast host and mum-of-three. 11 or so years ago, having had a successful career in investment banking, like many women who take a ‘career break' to have children, she found herself at a crossroads, not entirely sure what path to take next. Combining her financial knowledge with her passion for good architecture and design, Nicole was able to build on her experience and expertise to develop a new career, which fit around her children, and spent the next decade building a multi-million property portfolio in London. It's a journey she documents in her best-selling book Bricking It and which led to her becoming a regular property columnist for Modern Woman and Development Finance Today magazines. Aside from property and business, Nicole is a keen sailor and, together with her partner Paul, has a sailing channel on YouTube, which follows our family's adventures at sea.

Let's be honest: things are changing rapdily. The world is chaotic right now, and struggling entrepreneurs (and the rest of us) are scrabling to maintain any sense of control during these tough times. But perhaps that's the thing; we need to let go of our need for control. Perhaps we ought not to power through. But then what? In this episode, I had the great pleasure of having Nicole Bremner join as my guest speaker. Nicole is a property development specialist who founded East Eight - a boutique property development and investment company with a proven track record of renovating million-pound properties across London. Nicole and I first met many moons ago when we were both fledgling online business owners in a pre-social media world. A few years and three children each later, and after dipping her creative toe into a renovation project on a house, she realised that property development was her passion. Nicole shares with us the drive, skills and inspiration that helped her develop her career as a young entrepreneur and also now s a successful entrepreneur and mum. In 2010 Nicole, a mum of 3 children, bought a run-down property in Hackney. With almost no real estate experience, she hired the first builder that came to quote. Now seven years later and still living in that gorgeous area, Nicole has built up a property portfolio of over 15 projects, with many more completed last year. In November 2016, Nicole and her team at East Eight raised £1,400,000 on the first of five crowdfunded projects to date. Since then they have raised a further £4,280,000. Nicole is prolific on social media and had created an amazing brand.

From investment banking to property development. Nicole Bremner of East Eight shares her journey and insights on getting started in property development, the challenges of managing funds, and the hottest locations to invest in. 

Nicole's property journey has done nothing short of skyrocket since she left Goldman Sachs as an investment banker in 2009.
