The Return: Property & Investment Podcast is an incredible resource for investors, whether they are just starting off or have years of experience under their belts. Although I am based in the US, many of the principles discussed in this podcast still apply to me as a small investor. The hosts, Anna and Stefan, provide a wealth of information on various investment opportunities and help identify which ones are the most promising. The energy and engaging style of the show make it enjoyable to listen to, and I am grateful for the valuable knowledge that I have gained from it.

One of the best aspects of The Return: Property & Investment Podcast is its ability to inspire listeners to take control of their finances. The hosts emphasize the importance of starting now and provide practical advice on how to do so. They cover a wide range of investment options, including real estate and tech start-ups, bringing in recognized experts as guests. This variety allows listeners to explore different avenues and find what works best for them. The podcast also breaks down complex investment terms and processes into easily understandable language, making investing feel less intimidating.

While there are numerous positive aspects of this podcast, one potential downside is that it may not delve into certain investment areas in depth. For example, at the time of writing this review, there has not been much coverage on cryptocurrencies, despite it being a popular topic in the investment world. However, considering that the podcast is still relatively new, there is potential for more diverse topics to be covered in future episodes.

In conclusion, The Return: Property & Investment Podcast is a must-listen for anyone interested in investing or looking to expand their investment portfolio. Anna and Stefan provide valuable insights and bring a fresh perspective to the world of investing. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced investor, this podcast offers tools and insights that can help you meet or exceed your goals. I highly recommend subscribing to this informative and enjoyable show!

Send us a textIn this episode, the podcasting roles were reversed.I was lucky to be invited on The Career Equation, hosted by Erica Sosna - career coach and Good Housekeeping's in-house career expert. The format is that each guest brings a career challenge they are facing and Erica helps them through it using her methodology. My challenge (at the time of recording - a few months ago now) was: should I focus on solving problems for individual investors (the backbone of the residential market, who I worked with on 300 deals, who I wrote for in the Telegraph etc) or institutions (whose interest in UK residential is growing, and who are my main clients now).Erica did such a good job that this question hasn't bothered me at all since recording, but I thought it was useful to share as, underneath it all, it's a common problem we all have to navigate at some point: how to adapt to market changes. Would love to hear what you think if you give it a listen.Guest website: The Career Equation®Guest LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ericasosna/Host LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/annaclareharper/Host website: https://www.greenresi.com/

Send us a textI chatted to Ann-Marie Atkins, a Managing Partner and award-winning Financial Planner at Evelyn Partners, about what you need to know about investing. Disclaimer and spoiler alert - there's no actual investment tips or investment advice, the game-changing advice is to consider two equally exciting themes: TAX and INFLATION. Some snippets from Ann-Marie:Want to double your money in the next 10 years?? You can, if you invest at 7.2% interest (a version of this is known elsewhere as the Rule of 72)If you do one thing, think about tax first because it will have the greatest impact on your net returns - for example ISAs, SIPPs, Lifetime ISAs. If you haven't yet, now is a great time before the end of the tax year. How much you should be contributing to your pension each year.I shared some of my thoughts including:Something I've seen as I'm spending more time in the US is that there's a much greater acceptance of mistakes. Business founders are celebrated for trying as well as for succeeding; there's less shame around learning by doing. Here in the UK, speaking for myself, I was brought up to be scared of making mistakes with money - and the cost of that fear is huge - both for individuals and for our economy!Booking a monthly finance date with myself is something I find really helpful, and having a process and plan to follow. Some comments from listeners - for example, one very successful listener shared: “I'm just crap at this stuff. I put a reminder in my calendar to sort out my ISA or read up on how to allocate it, and then I keep postponing the calendar invite.” and we shared some nuggets about how to make this easier…Guest website: https://www.evelyn.com/Guest LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/annmariebanks/Host LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/annaclareharper/Host website: https://www.greenresi.com/
