This week, the boys ask a question that has lived on through the annals of time... IS THIS MOVIE A WAR MOVIE... OR IS THIS MOVIE NOT A WAR MOVIE? The topic? 2014's Edge of Tomorrow starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. This major question kick-starts one of the biggest debates in podcast history but the guys also discuss the movie itself, don't you worry. They talk about the movie acting as a real-life videogame, playing with audience expectations of Tom Cruise, the improvised kiss and much more. Next week: Daniel Craig has a funny accent. Questions? Four new series reviewed this week, three of them featuring Anna Torv! Territory (Netflix) is the series currently sitting at the top of the Netflix chart. Tells the story of a struggle to control the biggest cattle farm in Australia. Great cast and impressive photography. Before (AppleTV+) is a thriller starring Billy Crystal as a child psychiatrist with a patient who has a spooky relationship to the doctor. Nautilus (Stan) was shelved by Disney after they spent a fortune on filming it in Australia. Stan then picked it up. The fantasy tells the story of Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. So Long, Marianne (SBS On Demand) This Norwegian drama covers the years Leonard Cohen spent on the Greek Island of Hydra. Three Australian TV series this week. Though Shall Not Steal (Stan) An amazing road trip across the Northern Territory in the 1980 starring Noah Taylor and Miranda Otto. Yet the series really belongs to the young road trippers Will McDonald and Sherry-Lee Watson. The Office (Prime Video) The much-anticipated remake of the format that has proven to be such a hit in first the UK, and then later in the US. Get past the first episode and you might find the laughs come along with some very awkward situations. Plum (ABC) It's got Brendan Cowell and Asher Keddie and has been made by John and Dan Edwards. Also a great supporting cast and a storyline that is very contemporary.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Noah and his family have a diversified farming operation running 180 cow/calf pairs, several hundred hogs for Niman Ranch, feedlot beef and crops. They do a great job integrating livestock with the cropping enterprise through getting cattle out on the land, or diversifying their crop rotation and putting those harder to market grains through pigs or cattle and much more. By doing this they are able to reduce feed costs, increase soil health and ultimately improve farm profitability! Lots to learn from Noah! What happens when a video game company blatantly plagiarizes Indiana Jones but is too deep in the coding process to change the entire game? They make the hero a woman, and a new cultural icon is born! Naturally, there had to be a movie. This week on The CineMeh Podcast, Josh and Ryan are discussing the 2001 action-adventure movie Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, staring Angelina Jolie as the titular Lara Croft. While there is fun to be had, your hosts quickly find that this film completely falls apart under the slightest pressure- something that cannot be said of Lara herself. Bonkers action sequences, bad accents, sleazy villains and nonsensical time-travel abound in this globe-trotting romp that dares to ask the question: just how much plot can we ignore before we realize this movie was badly written?! The answer: not... not much. There's not much plot in this movie that makes sense. Grab your hiking boots and crop top, and hold on tight to your motorcycle; it's time for another episode of The CineMeh Podcast! Lara Croft: Tomb Raider was released in 2001 and stars Angelina Jolie, Iain Glen, Noah Taylor, and Daniel Craig. The CineMEH Podcast is a Slyjack Media, LLC production Like what you hear? Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth interview with Bob Gunton, Legendary Actor, Star, “The Shawshank Redemption” About Harvey's guest: Today's special guest, Bob Gunton, is a veteran actor whose prolific body of work over the past 5 decades has created some of the most memorable roles in movies, on television and on the Broadway stage. On the big screen, he brought us “Chief George Earle” in "Demolition Man", “Mr. Pease” in “Delores Claiborne”, “Pritchett” in “Broken Arrow”, medical school dean Dr. Walcott in "Patch Adams", Cecil Dobbs in “The Lincoln Lawyer”, and Secretary of State Cyrus Vance in "Argo". But the one role, more than any other, that has guaranteed him cinematic immortality, is his chilling portrayal of the despicable Prison Warden “Samuel Norton” in "The Shawshank Redemption". On television, in addition to many guest appearances on shows like “Miami Vice”, “L.A. Law”, “CSI”, “Nip/Tuck”, “Boston Legal”, “Law & Order: SVU”, “The Blacklist”, and dozens more, he played Governor George Wallace in “Unconquered”, he played Tommy Dorsey in the 1992 miniseries “Sinatra”, he played President Woodrow Wilson in “Iron Jawed Angels”, he played President Nixon in “Elvis Meets Nixon”, and he played President Roosevelt twice: once in the TV movie, “Kingfish: A Story of Huey P. Long”, and again in the miniseries “World War 2: Behind Closed Doors”. He also had recurring roles, as Dr. Leonard Schrader on “Hothouse”, “Judge Homer Conklin” in “Courthouse”, “Mayor Smith” in “Peacemakers”, “Noah Taylor” in “Desperate Housewives”, the Secretary of Defense, then Chief of Staff, then Secretary of State “Ethan Kanin” on “Twenty-Four”, “Leland Owlsley” in "Daredevil", “General William Collins” in “Royal Pains”, and “Jeremiah Davis” in “Trial and Error”. And if all of that weren't enough, our guest is a Broadway superstar. He originated the role of “Juan Perón” in the Broadway premiere of Evita, receiving a Tony Award nomination AND a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical. And he played the title role in the Broadway revival of “Sweeney Todd”, earning a second Tony Award nomination, and nominations for an Outer Critics Circle Award and a Drama Desk Award. His other Broadway credits include “King of Hearts”, for which he received a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical, “How I Got That Story”, for which he won an Obie Award, a Clarence Derwent Award, and a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Play, “Big River”, for which he received a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical, and “The Great Ostrovsky”, for which he received a Barrymore Award Nomination for Excellence in Theatre. Happy Belated Thanksgiving, Fabulous Film Fans! We meant to get this talk in the can sooner but alas! External forces including the mighty Holiday itself prevented us from discussing two seminal works highlighting the struggles of early colonial Americans, with special emphasis on their relationships to the Native American tribes who either assisted or were rebuffed by them: we're talking about Michael Mann's 1992 actioner The Last of The Mohicans, starring Daniel Day Lewis, Madeline Stowe, Wes Studi, Russell Means, Jodhi May, Eric Schweig and Steven Waddington compared to Terrence Malick's 2005 sweeping, meditative romantic epic, The New World starring Colin Farrell, Christopher Plummer, Christian Bale, Q'orianka Kilcher, Wes Studi once again, August Schellenberg, David Thewlis, John Savage, Jonathan Pryce, confusing lookalikes Ben Mendelshon and Noah Taylor in one movie, Eddie Marsen and Ben Chaplin. My guests this week are once again series regulars Dr. David Johnson, Roseanne Caputi and Alex Roberston. So here are the synopses, once again, deliciously, achingly simple. The Last of The Mohicans takes place in 1757 colonial America as white pilgrim Nathanial Hawkeye and his adopted Mohican relatives, brother Uncas and father Chingachgook continually rescue sisters Cora and Alice Munro from Magua, a vicious Huron warrior hell bent on revenge against the pair's father Colonel Edmund Monroe who burned Magua's village and killed his wife and children. The New World, catalogues the story of Pocahontas, princess of the Powhatan Tribe in Virginia in the year 1607 as she encounters the British Colonists and falls in love with Captain John Smith. Despite saving his life, the princess is deserted by Smith and finds true and lasting love in the arms of Tobacco Grower John Rolfe. Both films offer visual and emotional feasts, but which is more refined?Find out!
Locked On Tar Heels - Daily Podcast On North Carolina Tar Heels Football & Basketball
The North Carolina football team continues to surge under Mack Brown and is bouncing back in a major way from last year's disappointment. Much of that success is due to the emergence of Heisman candidate Drake Maye and the electric receiving duo of Josh Downs and Antoine Green. The offensive line is doing a strong job of creating space for Maye to operate, led by the remarkable season that Asim Richards is having.A major storyline this week is the season-ending injuries sustained against Pittsburgh last week. Caleb Hood, Des Evans, and Noah Taylor are all lost for the year. With Hood out, Elijah Green will get the start, becoming the fourth funning back to do so. On the defensive side, Evans and Taylor are the second and third defensive linemen to be ruled out for the season.UNC is favored by seven as they head to Charlottesville looking for their first win at Virginia since 2016. North Carolina's 2022-23 season begins with a bang next Monday as four of the five starters from last year's National Runner-Up team return to Chapel Hill - Armando Bacot, Caleb Love, Leaky Black, and RJ Davis. The lone difference is the absence of Brady Manek and the presence of Pete Nance. Many have tried to pigeon-hole Nance into being Manek, but that's just simply not who he is. Meanwhile, the Carolina football team travels to Charlottesville this weekend to face Virginia in the “South's Oldest Rivalry”. Facing the adversity of several starters lost for the season last week against Pittsburgh (Caleb Hood, Des Evans, Noah Taylor), how will Drake make and company respond on the road in a stadium where they haven't won since 2016? North Dakota State landed Lemont (Ill.) High School's Noah Taylor, a defensive prospect with position versatility. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Taylor verbally committed to NDSU for football Monday, July 4, and projects to play either safety or linebacker for the Bison, he said. NDSU offered Taylor a couple days ago after he attended a three-day camp in Fargo. “I absolutely loved it there,” Taylor said. “I was able to stay on campus so I experienced all of it. All the coaches were very cool with me. … I'm excited to be a Bison and join the community.”
Daniel Grant and Noah Taylor join Jeremy for GONE WITH THE WIND and bask in the beauty of technicolor while being slightly horrified by how it romanticizes the south's flawed history…

Back when Cincinnati was 5-0 and UNC was 3-2, there was a good deal of wondering if the Tar Heels had hired the right man. Not so much anymore. Isaac Schade updates you on grad transfers Corey Gaynor and Noah Taylor as they participate in spring football practice. Also, Dickie V made a surprising choice for ACC player of the year. Part 4.2 of IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT (AND I WANT WINE) Enough Tom Cruise talk, let's get down on this NZ Malbec! What is Jamie's personal single-serving size for wine? How long does it take for anything to happen in The World of Wine? What are ‘marginal lands' and why are they so often dedicated to growing wine? And will Jamie give Scott enough credit for coming up with such an incisive question? Probably not. But you, intrepid listener, can find out the answers to all these questions, plus whether the boys think this is a good pairing, and how Scott's wife thinks Jamie would die in an alien invasion, all simply by pressing play! The 2017 Decibel, Gimblett Gravels Malbec from Hawkes Bay, NZ is available from Wine.com for $25 USD. EDGE OF TOMORROW (2014) is directed by Doug Liman and stars Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, Brendan Gleason, Noah Taylor, and the late, great Bill Paxton. It is available to rent wherever you get your VOD movies. Part 4.1 of IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT (AND I WANT WINE) Which part of Scott's verbose pitch for this movie - “a big budget, alien invasion, time loop, Looney Tunes war movie” - is a touchstone for Jamie? What's the deal with this movie's incredibly bland title? What happens to a flop after theaters? Can Scott's impassioned defense of Tom Cruise's performance convince the haters to give this movie a chance? Answers to those questions and more, plus the Bad Reviews game. Kill some time with us before the apocalypse by pressing ‘Play' right now.
