Lazar Živić from Novi Sad has been devoting himself to music and DJing since 2008, and to the organisation of musical events since 2010. With the first "Foam Party" party in Novi Sad at the Amensia club, as well as a series of events that have become trends among famous DJs like Geo Da Silva, and extraordinary outdoor events at Jelisavetin Bastion club, which were visited by thousands of people from Novi Sad and the region. In 2012, Lazar went to America for college, where, along with studies and sports, he was involved in the organisation of music events and parties. After three years (2015), he signed a contract with SamCappas Productions (Chicago, IL), which allows him to perform regularly as a resident at the clubs Prysm and The Mid (Chicago, IL), as well as at LimeTree lounge, Studio 54 (Miami, FL). With his return to Serbia from 2018 to 2023 as a co-owner of the AFTERIFE organisation with brand and music promotion, he organised and played music at events in the region and clubs such as Half, Kult, Tunnel and others, as well as as part of the Sarajevo Film Festival in 2023. Today, he expresses his passion for music through two names - DJ LZ and MiamiDeported. DJ LZ is known for his hip-hop and R&B sound with heavy bass, combined with house music, while MiamiDeported plays more alternative combinations of deep tech, tech-house, tech-minimal and break-beats.
I'm joined by Kristen Meredith, a VP at Prysm Capital, who has carved a unique path in the investment world. Kristen is one of the lucky few to skip banking (she started her career at Blackrock) and then landed a PE associate role in Paris at Eurazeo, before landing her current growth investing role at Prysm. I've known Kristen for over a decade as a fellow Middlebury & Wharton alum, so it was particularly fun to hear her advice about building investment judgment, life as a PE Associate in Europe and some frameworks for how she evaluates growth investments.

Like it or not, we are all in the digital experience business. We demand it as consumers and enterprises are challenged with continuously raising the bar to keep consumers coming back for more. Sitecore is a company unifying data, content, commerce, and experiences to empower brands like L'Oréal, Microsoft, and United Airlines to deliver unforgettable interactions across every touchpoint. The company also has a big event in Chicago called Symposium, where Mindy Kaling will speak. There will also be 100+ sessions with top global brands sharing how they are creating digital experiences. This week, Sitecore released its 2022 U.S. Holiday Report with Paige O'Neill, Sitecore CMO, advising, "This season, shoppers will seek out brands that offer competitive pricing, buy-now-pay-later options, and low-cost shipping. Brands that empathize with consumers' inflation-forced financial constraints and focus on meeting their needs by delivering content that focuses on value and shows authentic empathy — where they can — will come out ahead this holiday season. In today's Tech Talks Daily Podcast episode, Paige shares insights from the Reality of Holiday Shopping research and reveals what we can expect at Sitecore's Symposium 2022 event. About Paige Paige brings over 20 years of experience in senior marketing roles crossing many areas of enterprise software, customer experience, and cloud computing. As Chief Marketing Officer, she combines product marketing expertise with an extensive background in communications and a passion for developing thought leadership programs that build awareness, differentiation, and demand. Ever tried to start a business with your best friend and they tell you that you need to seriously level up your game before they'll consider it? Yeah, me neither. But that's exactly what happened to Tom Scaria, CEO of Prysm. I sat down with Tom at a WeWork outside of NFT.NYC mayhem to talk about the wonder and beauty that is Prysm, a front-end for Gnosis Safes that “turns your group chat into a collector DAO.”Tom shares his origin story, his strategy for what to do when you're not sure what to do (consult or get an MBA lol), and his predictions for NFTs in 2022. Bonus: I ask Tom for some biz dev advice and he doesn't disappoint. Have a listen, and let me know what you think on Twitter or in the PoolTogether Discord.Next Week: Links from Bankless Card! You've gotta try Trains of the Century. It's got trains. It's got beautiful music. It's got user-generated billboards. It's got mini-games. And it's got… CENTURIES. That's right! The current version of the game is just one century. There are more. Prehistoric Century? Three-Body Problem Century? It's all in the podcast. Trains of the Century is built on the WAX Blockchain and is the first game from this dynamic duo of developers. We talk trains strategy, game mechanics, how you must have sound on, the Michael Jordan of Trains, the importance of lore in web3, and play to earn with a deflationary token. Thanks to Ryan and Jake for spending time with the PoolTogether Community and sharing their love of world-building with us. This week's podcast guest, Barbara Ford Grant, is particularly inspirational. Barbara's pursuit of fine art led her into VFX, where she worked her way through companies including DreamWorks Animation, Sony Pictures Imageworks, Digital Domain, Walt Disney Studios, and immersive art platform Meow Wolf. She carved an enviable career path during this time, from digital artist to chief technology officer. Today, Barbara is president of Prysm Stages, a state-of-the-art virtual production facility, and she's just become the first female chair of the Sci-Tech Oscar Awards Committee. In this podcast, she details her career and how she's continually pushed VFX technology and pipelines forward. The key topics in this episode are around stabilization of the 3D/material realm, so that the higher, spiritual practices can be focused on; and how certain traditions recognize this or not.

In this week’s episode, CoinDesk’s Christine Kim and Consensys’ Ben Edgington talk about what caused 70% of validators on Ethereum 2.0 to stop producing blocks on the network and the important takeaways for protocol developers in light of this event. They also discuss the updated roadmap for the Eth 2.0 upgrade as outlined by Vitalik Buterin in a recent presentation. This episode is sponsored by hellointerpop.io and The Sun Exchange.Last Friday, April 23, founder of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin, gave a presentation at the Scaling Ethereum Summit on the upgrades he expects to come after the network’s transition to a new, environmentally friendly proof-of-stake (PoS) protocol. “The first set of things here is a lot of security improvements, some economic sustainability improvements and some features,” said Buterin at the event. “The far future is just about really nailing down and improving and having extremely strong guarantees about the security of the system.”Buterin detailed a number of different upgrades after PoS including sharding, rollups, verifiable delay functions, Ethereum Virtual Machine improvements and more. To Kim, the main takeaway from the presentation was not the individual upgrades and their technicalities, but the sheer breadth of work still to be done on the protocol even after its long-awaited merge with the Eth 2.0 network. “When are we going to get to the end here? ... There seems to be a lot more that we’re going to have to continue to talk about when it comes to Ethereum finally reaching its production ready, world computer phase,” said Kim. To this, Edgington noted the vision outlined by Buterin was indeed ambitious and big but that he was in full support of such a roadmap. “I love this idea that we just keep on growing and evolving. It keeps me engaged. There are lots of very interesting problems to solve,” said Edgington. Speaking of a problem, the Ethereum 2.0 network had its first major incident on April 24 after 70% of validators on the network were suddenly unable to produce blocks. Developers quickly identified the root cause of the issue was from a bug in the Eth 2.0 software client, Prym. A patch was rolled out to affected validators the same day. The issue still persisted through till Sunday, however, for certain validators who hadn’t upgraded to the latest version of Prysm. The important lesson, according to Edgington, is for validators, staking pools and developers to be more proactive about client diversity on Ethereum 2.0. “Here’s an example where the network would have been much more robust if each of the four clients had 25% of validators each. In that case, you’d only be missing a quarter of the blocks if this had happened and the network would have been more or less fine,” said Edgington. “But when one client dominates and that client has a problem, it’s really serious for the whole network.”Catch the full breakdown of how developers are responding to Saturday’s incident by listening to the entire podcast episode of Mapping Out Ethereum 2.0 hosted by Edgington and Kim. Cory Andersen worked as a Gameday Marketing Assistant for the University of Connecticut's athletic program from 2010-2013, and now works in music management and has developed Cory Andersen Productions and PRYSM Music Management. He talks about growing up in Enfield, Connecticut, being a lifelong UConn fan, and being into sports from a young age. Cory then details why he chose to attend UConn, why he wanted to work in the sports marketing department, his duties as Gameday Marketing Assistant, and how basketball was his favorite sport to work at. He describes many of the other activities he did as an undergrad, including working at a radio station and traveling into New York City for internships. Cory explains why he wanted to get into the music industry, the first few steps he took out in Los Angeles after he graduated, working with Nick Jonas and Gavin DeGraw, being an entrepreneur, starting Cory Andersen Productions, and creating PRYSM and some of the very talented artists he's been working with. He also discusses his continued support of UConn athletics and the Hot Sauce Challenge with The Husky Ticket Project.
In this episode, Christine Kim and Will Foxley discuss with Ethereum Foundation researcher Danny Ryan the roll-out of the Ethereum 2.0 development roadmap, starting with the launch of phase 0 and the Beacon Chain. “Not a surprise but a relief.”That's how Ryan characterized how he felt about the successful activation of the Eth 2.0 network in early December. “We were confident going in but it's been excellent to see it go so well,” Ryan said. “Compared to some of our testnet launches, they got better and better. But the mainnet launch was more successful than any of those.”As of Jan. 27, the parallel Ethereum network dubbed “Ethereum 2.0” has accumulated over $3.6 billion in staked ether. There are over 72,000 active participants called “validators” securing network operations, with another 16,000 awaiting activation in a queue for entry into Eth 2.0. The absence of unexpected bugs, hacks and attacks has certainly been the source of much celebration for Ethereum developers. Ben Edgington, product owner for Eth 2.0 software client Teku, wrote in a weekly newsletter on Dec. 12, “It's been a wonderfully dull [11] days since genesis: [A]pparently it all just works.”It's not all perfect, however. Ryan explained that there are a few fixes, tweaks and improvements he'd like to see made on Eth 2.0 over the next few months. First and foremost is “an iterative upgrade in the middle of this year which would clean up a couple of things in state management, more technical-side things and also add a nice feature which enables light clients as a first class citizen for the Beacon Chain.” (More information on Eth 2.0's first planned upgrade here.)Ryan mentioned he is optimistic the distribution of software clients being used by validators to connect to the network would diversify.“It looks like 50% of nodes on the network are Prysm,” Ryan said. Nodes are computers that store and share blockchain data. “It's not quite where we want it to be. I'll say time and time again there are four fantastic clients out there. I don't run Prysm in my own setup and I'm stable and happy.”Find out more about what other developments and milestones Ryan expects the Eth 2.0 network to accomplish this year by listening to the full podcast episode. We talk about past episodes and who was horribly wrong and who was ingeniously right. The audio snippets will be played on air for all to hear so there is no running away from it. We ran a little longer than usual but we had a lot of wrongs to get through. Jerry predicting Mohamed Sanu being a "beast", Ox picking Washing to fall out of the top 25, and Austin saying Allen Robinson was a better fantasy pickup than Odell Beckham. All of it right here in episode 18. Music by: Soul Elementz by Jihfa Chill Out by Prysm
Why is the NFL America's most popular sport? Jerry and I debate that fantasy football is the only reason people stay interested in the NFL. Also, if you are a WWE or NHL fan, we compare the two and what the NHL is doing wrong to market their brand. Music by: Soul_Elementz_01 by Jihfa Chill Out by Prysm

Web conferencing was a step up. Video conferencing, another step. However, ensuring that meetings are as effective as possible for all participants requires a new paradigm for visual collaboration. In this podcast interview with Dana Corey, the VP of Global Strategic Partnerships at Prysm, we discuss how a company most well known for their display wall technology, has created a unique software layer to take visual meetings to the next level. By combining cutting edge, touch screen visual displays for in room meetings with a centralized meeting canvas software that allows all participants - regardless of location - to see, add, annotate and interact with any type of content, visual collaboration creates a new type of meeting workspace. We review how this type of environment builds upon and integrates with UC platforms, delivers mobility solutions for remote and home workers and keeps track of all meeting details in the cloud so participants can go back and revisit the specifics of each collaborative session. Definitely a must listen.
