See on kindlasti oluline info neile, kellel on vaja saavutada kindlat magneesiumi taset. Tänases saates keskendume sellele vitamiinile nimega magneesium, Ivari tervise teekonnale ja räägime väga konkreetselt ReMag magneesiumist, magneesiumi kasuteguritest, kõrvalmõjudest jne. Räägime sellest, kuidas magneesiumi on seotud suisa 65 erineva terviseseisundiga, kuidas enamik inimesi elab magneesiumipuuduses, enamik magneesiumilisandid ei tööta ja miks, kuidas magneesium aitab ennetada vananemist; kuidas on seotud magneesium ja COVID jne. Võta seda episoodi kui vitamiini magneesiumi ABC-d. PS! It's time to soothe your mind about summer (salad) dressing stress! Also, we talk the ideal American sporting event and overhosting, a term that speaks to us more than we'd like. Some dressings for summer and really whenever: Via Carota's, Toro Bravo's, and Kewpie's BUT FROM JAPAN. Both Mark Bittman and Samin Nosrat do a strong miso-mustard, and our no-recipe recipes are a honey-mustard (just honey, French's yellow, red-wine vinegar, and olive oil) and the never-fail combo of ketchup, mayo, Old Bay, lemon, and salt. * SUPPORT THE SHOW * Donations are so appreciated (PayPal Me )I've been really pimping out my electrolyte recipe lately and when people finally start using it they tend to like how it gives them a bit of a boost/lift. The fluid and electrolyte system, itself, in the body is dynamic and very difficult to measure. But we do know it depends on access to minerals dissolved in water and proper cellular absorption of those minerals making them bioavailable. One of the most important functions of electrolytes is to enhance cellular hydration. To most people, hydration just means there is enough water in the body but the real key is to get the water into the cells and make it stay there to perform its biological functions. Most people tell me: “I didn't know I needed anything other than water to be hydrated” Find my electrolyte recipe: https://lydiajoy.mykajabi.com/blog/healthy-homemade-electrolyte-drink-recipeIn this episode I shared my favorite pico ionic minerals: ReMag and Pico PotassiumYou can order those belowReMag: https://rnaresetpro.com/collections/all-formulas/products/remag-liquid-magnesiumPico Potassium : https://rnaresetpro.com/collections/all-formulas/products/pico-potassiumUse code: LYDIASHATNEY Learn more about me and more work over on my website: lydiajoy.me

HOUR 1 Chainbreaker: – When Emotions Interfere with Health -Carolyn Dean MD ND As most of my readers and podcast audience know, I believe that the root causes for much chronic disease are 1. Magnesium and Mineral deficiencies and 2. Yeast Overgrowth. I have been working with the public to educate and correct these imbalances since the early ‘80's. It may take several months, even a year, to reverse the effects. The way that magnesium and mineral deficiencies compromise every cell, tissue, and organ system in the body are well researched and documented by thousands of clinical studies. Yeast overgrowth, and the 178 toxins it can release into the body create another myriad of health issues that require dietary changes to master. But what IF you've done all that and you still have some part of the condition you started with? Once the biological is sorted out then the next areas to explore are the conflict. Your chronic and persistent health problems may have their basis in emotional conflicts and stress. Getting to the core of these issues is not the purpose of our radio show today but rather an opportunity to explore some simple exercises and resources that I have used over the years to help individuals recover their mental and emotional balance. Stress Management In my post, Sleeping with the Enemy, I list simple things you can do to clear your mind and emotions of conflict, worry, and stress. Here they are: When a major event affects your life, try to remember that “This too shall pass.” Stop watching the nightly news. Staying away from all news programs would serve you well. Do not take your phone to bed with you at night. Leave it in another room, preferably turned off. The constant WiFi signaling of the phone impinges on your cells and prevents your body from fully relaxing into a deep, regenerative sleep. You can release repetitive, negative thoughts by writing them down. Putting them on paper can literally take them “off your mind.” Take and extra ½ tsp of ReMag before bedtime to relax your muscles and calm your mind. Try to see the glass as half full; give praise for what you do have and try not to focus on what you think you don't have making use of the phrase “Not in my universe.” Total Biology Total Biology is the study of the conflict basis of disease. According to its founder Claude Sabbah, MD, “Disease is the brain's best solution to keep the person alive as long as possible.” So, if a person has a major conflict or stress that overwhelms the mind, the body may create physical symptoms in an attempt to relive the stress or solve the problem. Affirmations Affirmations are positive statements that can help you to challenge and overcome self-sabotaging and negative thoughts. When you tell them to your mind, your body and mind begin to search out the mental pathways to bring them to your life. An affirmation is something to be verbalized with consciousness. As you make the statements, take the time to visualize and identify each symbol as easy as possible. For example, A Small Property is one of my favorite affirmations to let the mind and body know that your health is returning to your body and it's under your control. A Small Property – I was a small property ravaged by a storm. The fine weather has returned. The forest and the river have become calm. The house is vibrant and shines in the sun. And above all, the field is returning to its order, health and beauty. Thank you, my diseased/depleted organs, for I know you have done all this to save my whole being. And thanks to myself for doing my healing. Repeat this 10 times, 3X/day. To be repeated 10 times in the morning (before getting up), around lunch time for another 10 times; and 10 times at night (just before falling asleep) … GENERAL AFFIRMATION: I am filled with love and understanding. STRATEGY: To break the links to past illness, listen to the “Time to Say Goodbye” STRATEGY: The link breaker: Walnut – Bach Flower Remedy “I break all links that hinder my growth.” Dosage: 5-10 drops three times a day Theater of the Mind Come up with a new story. HOUR 2 Important Nutrients for Immune Support-Silver-- Carolyn Dean MD ND In May 2018 we introduced Pico Silver, our 20ppm concentration of stabilized silver ions in solution to our customers around the world and the results have actually exceeded our expectations! In fact, Pico Silver has become one of our customer's most favorite immune boosting formulas. You see, when you introduce stabilized ions of minerals into your body incredible things begin to happen. And, as the benefits of silver are well documented in medical literature, the benefits of a stabilized, ionic form of silver in Pico Silver make those same results even more powerful and immediate! It can be confidently declared and scientifically proven that the silver ion is far safer than antibiotics or any other antimicrobial ever created. It's still the go-to formula for healing even severe skin burns and preventing infection. In this regard, allopathic medicine knows that the characteristics of the silver ion far exceed the capabilities of patented antibiotics. Also, antibiotics cannot keep up with bacterial organisms' ability to mutate, nor do antibiotics work against viruses. In addition, antibiotics have many side effects, such as yeast infections. This is because antibiotics travel deep into the intestinal tract, where they kill the good bacteria along with the bad. It is also known and documented that taking antibiotics over a long period of time weakens the body's immune system. Here are some more fun facts about Pico Silver: Silver As A Nutrient Silver can be considered as a necessary nutrient in the body because it is systematically concentrated in the body to a much higher level than occurs in nature. Since most minerals have been proved to be depleted from our soil and water, the same can be said for silver. White Blood Cells and Silver It has been shown by various bodies of research on yeast overgrowth that infectious organisms have gained the upper hand and overwhelm our ability to keep them under control. Silver ions weaponize white blood cells (WBCs) to do their work. Silver assists the WBCs and the immune system to attack infectious organisms. Characteristics of Silver Silver has the highest electrical conductivity of any metal. Silver ions are highly effective and the body's response is nearly instantaneous. The silver ion is an integral and important part of the body's immune system response to infections and disease. The DNA of the body is already pre-programmed to utilize silver to fight infections and disease. Silver ions are absorbed into the bloodstream and transported to all of the tissues of the body and stored on the surface of white blood cells. The silver ion is bonded to the surface of adult stem cells and causes dedifferentiation of the adult stem cells into the embryonic state leading to tissue regeneration. New, healthy tissue growth is at least five to six times faster utilizing silver in wound treatment when contrasted with non-silver-treatment. The silver ion aids the body's ability to “find” the focal point of treatment, through the body's cell signaling mechanisms – its electrical conductivity. The silver ion aids the body's ability to “digest” the pathogen. The silver ion aids the body in the correction of the associated complex metabolic consequences associated with long-term infectious states. The effects of the silver ion in anti-aging approaches is very promising although clinical research has not been fully funded. The silver ion has a beneficial effect upon co-infections simultaneously. The silver ion will readily pass the blood-brain barrier, allowing for interface and intervention with neurological diseases such as ALS, MS, polio, spinal meningitis, and viral encephalitis. The silver ion increases the Red Blood Cell count. The silver ion is known to negatively affect bacteria through: lethal oxidation, an “intermolecular electron transfer,” resulting in electrocution; a binding and chelating to essential pathogen receptor sites, which defeats the pathogen's mechanisms of invasion into host cells; an ion non-dependent heightened catalytic action; and cleavage, which fragments (and thereby destroys) essential pathogen/proteinaceous structures. Once the silver ion ruptures a bacterial staph infection or certain fungal infections, the remaining silver ion particles begin to act as an antidote to the resulting poisons lessening the Herxheimer reaction. The silver ion has a very high therapeutic value because there is no known lethal dose for silver ions. Our customers are raving about the benefits of our Pico Silver. Here is one of numerous examples from Joan, a long-time customer. Years of happy marriage to a "smoker" created in me a chronic dry smoker's cough, back to back sinus infections spanning several decades and even now 7 years as a widow, I still hack as if I was the smoker. I began to add Pico Silver to my daily routine and I found myself just adding a teaspoon here and there throughout the day...not really aiming towards anything specific...but specific things magically happened: 1. Bleeding gums from rigorous brushing stopped. 2. My morning hacking sessions (rib banging)went from dry to extremely wet, where I let go of a lot of lingering mucus in my lungs which is now being expectorated appropriately. 3. I am normally do not sweat, but I began to sweat ... which kept my body temperature from spiking hot to cold, and back...I just felt great. 4. I no longer have ankle swelling in the heat which has been my norm. 5. I seemed to be able to actually control my bladder when caught short...with a mental command and it obeys. 6. Lastly, my taste buds woke up...everything is just delicious and I'm satisfied with smaller quantities. And I have lost 2 lbs without doing anything but adding Pico Silver throughout my day to my sea-salted water. This I attribute to the increased neurological impulses that Dr. Dean says silver amplifies as it works alongside ReMag and ReMyte! Thank you so much, Dr. Dean. HOUR 1 Important Nutrients for Immune Support-Silver-- Carolyn Dean MD ND In May 2018 we introduced Pico Silver, our 20ppm concentration of stabilized silver ions in solution to our customers around the world and the results have actually exceeded our expectations! HOUR 2 The Power of Potassium – Improving Bone and Organ Health– Carolyn Dean MD ND Is Potassium Important for Good Health? In my eBook, ReMag & ReMyte – Invisible Minerals Part II, I talk about the importance of potassium: Potassium is the third most abundant element in the human body.. Potassium is mostly found inside the cells to the tune of 98%, whereas 98% of the body's sodium is found outside the cells. The intracellular-to-extracellular dance of potassium and sodium helps create and conduct electrical impulses in muscle cells and nerves. Calcium and magnesium have a similar dance card. Potassium deficiency leads to muscle cramps and arrhythmias, but to a lesser extent than magnesium deficiency, the reason being that potassium deficiency is less common than magnesium deficiency. Since 98% of potassium is found inside the cells, measuring potassium in the blood can be misleading. We have the same problem with measuring magnesium. Potassium is an important electrolyte for electrical conductivity in the heart, as is magnesium. So medicine is unable to measure the two most important electrolyte minerals that create the electrical conductivity of the heart. Like most other minerals, potassium activates various enzymes; the most surprising one is related to sugar metabolism. In my eBook Pico Potassium: Magnesium's Best Friend, I write about the significant role of potassium in preventing strokes, kidney stones, improving bone health, and type 2 diabetes. I will include a few of these references in this blog: Potassium and Stroke – NIH Office of Dietary Supplements FDA approves the following health claim: “Diets containing foods that are a good source of potassium and that are low in sodium may reduce the risk of high blood pressure and stroke.” Potassium and Kidney Stones – NIH Office of Dietary Supplements The most common type of kidney stones contains calcium in the form of calcium oxalate and calcium phosphate. Low potassium intake impairs calcium reabsorption in kidney tubules, increasing urinary calcium excretion and potentially causing hypercalciuria and kidney stones. Potassium And Bone Health – NIH Office of Dietary Supplements Observational studies suggest that increased consumption of potassium from fruits and vegetables is associated with increased bone mineral density and improved bone health. Potassium and Type 2 Diabetes – NIH Office of Dietary Supplements Magnesium deficiency is a marker for diabetes and has an effect on insulin secretion. Unfortunately, that information is not applied clinically. Potassium is also needed for insulin secretion from pancreatic cells and hypokalemia impairs insulin secretion, possibly leading to glucose intolerance and eventually Type 2 Diabetes. Potassium for Cardiac Arrhythmias - National Council on Potassium Maintenance of optimal potassium levels (at least 4.0 mmol/L) is critical in these patients and routine potassium monitoring is mandatory. The co-administration of magnesium should be considered to facilitate the cellular uptake of potassium. They leave out the fact that magnesium itself is crucial to prevent and treat heart arrhythmias. The Relationship between Potassium and Magnesium A potassium deficiency may be found on a blood test but not show a magnesium deficiency. If you have low magnesium and low potassium, your potassium won't improve when you take potassium supplements unless you also take magnesium. Because doctors don't use an accurate test for magnesium, they never find the underlying problem. Additionally, low potassium levels can increase urinary magnesium loss, and magnesium deficiency exacerbates a potassium deficiency. The RDA for potassium is 4-5 grams, which is 4,000-5,000mg daily, because potassium levels in the body are quite high. You can get potassium through your diet, especially if you eat a lot of vegetables. But throwing away the cooking water also throws away all the potassium. Here is a list of some potassium-rich foods: all green, leafy vegetables bananas nuts avocados citrus fruit potatoes Should I Take Potassium Supplements? After medical school and during my naturopathic training and when I was researching my Magnesium Miracle book, l learned that potassium has very important interactions with magnesium, however I was still reluctant to recommend potassium supplements because of the FDA ruling that a potassium supplement can only contain 99 mgs of potassium per dose. Instead, I encouraged people to make potassium broth and eat lots of vegetables, thinking that would be enough. I changed my mind about potassium supplements when I began embracing the Keto diet and realized people were no longer eating enough vegetables. Also some of my customers with atrial fibrillation, even though they were becoming saturated with ReMag, still had symptoms, which I realized were probably due to low potassium.. Some people were recommending cream of tartar powder for its high potassium content – but I was concerned that they wouldn't know how much potassium they were taking and could overdose or under dose. What If I Need More Potassium? Exactly. Years of experience show me that many of our customers needed more potassium. When I decided to make Pico Potassium, I realized all I needed to do was concentrate the stabilized ion of potassium chloride that we have in ReMyte. On our FDA-compliant label, the dose on Pico Potassium is 99 mg per ¼ tsp. I recommend that if someone is not getting 4,700 mg of potassium in their diet; if their blood level of potassium isn't in the high normal range; if they have heart rhythm symptoms even when they are saturated with 2-4 tsp of ReMag a day; or if they are on a diuretic, they can take Pico Potassium. Sharing the Potassium Love Here is a report from a customer taking our Pico Potassium: I'm on my 3rd day of Pico Potassium and I don't how to express it other than to say, I have reached another positive level of wellness, another level of calmness, in spite of the turmoil around us. Please convey my gratitude to the wonderful Dr Dean and her Team for this product. And it also tastes good as well. What a combination they all make together. I suddenly love my water. HOUR 2 Magnesium- A Key Mineral for Cardiovascular Health– Carolyn Dean MD ND Heart disease has become a dreaded condition because most people know it means a handful of medications and the certain knowledge that things are only going to get worse. But what if heart disease has a strong element of magnesium deficiency? What if you have magnesium deficiency and not heart disease? Magnesium deficiency is very common in people with a compromised cardiovascular system. In hospitals magnesium is administered for acute myocardial infarction and cardiac arrhythmia. Like any other muscle, the heart requires magnesium. Magnesium is also used to treat angina, or chest pain. In your local clinic or practitioner's office, their response to magnesium deficiency may be a little different. Magnesium's role in preventing heart disease and strokes is accepted for acute conditions, with the use of IV magnesium, yet many cardiologists do not recognize and respond to magnesium deficiency conditions in their primary care protocols. After all, your doctor probably thinks magnesium pill is a laxative and certainly won't do an ionized magnesium blood test to find out how much magnesium is in your cells working away at 1,000 enzyme processes and involved with 80% of known metabolic functions many of which contribute to cardiovascular health. An average of 1,671 American's die suddenly and unexpectedly of a heart attack every day. This is a pandemic! Millions of people are unaware they are walking on a very thin edge of the same health conditions as those who have transitioned- with high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and on several medications to avoid having a heart attack. Yet the treatments for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and high blood sugar all deplete magnesium and cause worsening of these life-threatening cardiovascular conditions. Magnesium acts by the same mechanisms as statin drugs to lower cholesterol. Every metabolic activity in the body depends on enzymes. Making cholesterol, for example, requires a specific enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase. Magnesium slows down this enzymatic reaction when you have enough cholesterol. HMG-CoA reductase is the same enzyme that statin drugs block. The mechanisms are nearly the same; however, magnesium is the natural way that the body has evolved to balance cholesterol when it reaches a certain level, whereas statin drugs are used to destroy the whole process. This means that if sufficient magnesium is present in the body, cholesterol will be limited to its necessary functions—the production of hormones and the maintenance of cell membranes—and will not be produced in excess. Magnesium is also responsible for several other lipid-altering functions that are not even shared by statin drugs. Magnesium is necessary for the activity of an enzyme that lowers LDL, the “bad” cholesterol; it also lowers triglycerides and raises the “good” cholesterol, HDL. Another magnesium-dependent enzyme converts omega-3 and omega- 6 essential fatty acids into prostaglandins, which are required for heart and overall health. At least 18 human studies have verified that magnesium supplements can have an extremely beneficial effect on lipids. In these studies, total cholesterol levels were reduced by 6 to 23 percent; LDL (bad) cholesterol were lowered by 10 to 18 percent; triglycerides fell by 10 to 42 percent; and HDL (good) cholesterol rose by 4 to 11 percent. Furthermore, the studies showed that low magnesium levels are associated with higher levels of “bad” cholesterol and high magnesium levels indicate an increase in “good” cholesterol. In addition to the ‘traditional' form of heart disease, heart rhythm issues plague many Americans as well. Atrial fibrillation is the most commonly diagnosed heart arrhythmia, reaching epidemic proportions. In the US, AFib hospitalizations increased by 23% between 2000 and 2010. In 2010 there were about 5.2 million people with A-Fib; that number is expected to escalate to 12.1 million cases in 2030. Fortunately for us, Dr. Carolyn Dean has a pretty good idea of what's going on and how to help millions of American's suffering with magnesium deficiency symptoms that affect the structure and function of the cardiovascular system. Dr. Carolyn Dean has been helping educate the public and practitioners about the role of magnesium in proper heart function and, in Dan's case, while he was waiting to see his doctor he learned quite a bit about how magnesium could support his health: Hi, Dr. Dean. Three months ago, I was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation by my General Practitioner. I am not on drugs yet and I have been referred to a highly reputable cardiologist here in Northern California who has me wearing a heart monitor for two weeks to see what's going on with the a-fib. I am having to wait 2 months to meet with him to get the results and what he wants me to do for treatment. In the meantime, I found your booklet on A-Fib. This was very encouraging to read and I have started taking ReMag. I have noticed the heart palpitations when taking the magnesium are less or not at all and I have some days that are normal. I have had the RBC blood test and yes, my magnesium was low. I also had a cardio ultra sound and my heart is normal. I am very grateful to be making progress with ReMag and have more hope than before that I will be okay. Dan The booklet on AFib is now called Heart Health and is a free download at www.drcarolyndeanlive.com. Tonight on Dr. Carolyn Dean LIVE we'll be talking with Dr. Carolyn Dean about Magnesium – A Key Mineral for Cardiovascular Health - along with a wide range of health topics and safe solutions. You will love hearing the beneficial interactions with callers and hosts alike including the body/mind connection, identifying the ‘conflict' in the ‘conflict basis' of disease and much more!! HOUR 2 Safe Strategies for High Blood Pressure- Carolyn Dean MD ND High blood pressure aka hypertension is an elevation of blood pressure suffered by more than 100 million people around the world. Most often, high blood pressure is diagnosed during a routine physical exam. It presents no distinguishing signs or symptoms unless the condition is very advanced, in which case headache, dizziness, and blurred vision can occur. The “2017 Guideline for High Blood Pressure in Adults” set the guidelines for diagnosing hypertension so low that half of the US population suffers from high blood pressure. The three doctors who set these guidelines all have citations in the literature for treating hypertension with medications. These three, as far as I can determine, without input from public health doctors, nutritionists, naturopaths, integrative medicine doctors, or preventive medicine specialists, declared that a BP reading of 130/80 rather than 140/90 is the new cut off point for hypertension. All doctors have to do is read the literature about magnesium deficiency. A review paper by Fox, et al, in 2001 described the reasons why magnesium deficiency is mistaken for hypertension: Magnesium deficiency causes a dysregulation of the sodium-magnesium exchange, resulting in higher intracellular sodium and thus higher blood pressure. A relatively low magnesium level creates an intracellular imbalance between calcium and magnesium, which results in increased spasms in the smooth muscle of arteries and therefore increased blood pressure. Magnesium deficiency causes insulin resistance, which in turn causes hyperinsulinemia, resulting in hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia. What is remotely scientific about declaring that several million people are hypertensive without any individual testing or physical and nutritional assessment? At the risk of beating a dead and magnesium-deficient horse, I'll comment on a Medscape video interview about the 2017 guidelines with two Cardiologists at the American Heart Association (AHA) Scientific Sessions. In the interview transcript, this quote was at the top of the session, “The day where the physician does everything is long past. We're just too busy.” Fortunately, in the last 10 years I have been busy providing the public with health education and safe strategies and our customers are enjoying the benefits: Sandra: I have been on pretty much all your products for the last year and couple months. I must say, you saved my life. Literally. ReMag has calmed my spasms in my neck, calves and feet. Actually, it has relaxed all my muscle tension. My blood pressure has lowered to 115/75. It was usually 140/85 I was never a sound sleeper and would have a difficult time falling asleep and now I don't even remember getting into bed at night and sleep like a baby 8-9 hrs. I thank the Lord every morning for you and your products. I also use the ReMag Lotion at night as a hand lotion and love it. Barbara: I have been going low and slow with ReMag. I have now worked up to 3/4 teaspoon in my 32 oz water bottle along with 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt. I feel as if the key takeaways for me so far are a decrease in my restless legs at night and remembering my dreams. I am on a medication for high blood pressure, so before I started ReMag I took readings for several days. BP hovered around 123/73 maybe a bit higher. BP since starting ReMag is hovering around 115/68. Yay! Taking these results to my primary care doctors appointment next week. Sharon: I have been on Dr Dean's ReMag and all the Completement Formulas for ONE YEAR!!!! Wow! My health has improved tremendously…..no more heart palpitations, no more leg/feet cramps, anxiety is gone, thyroid TSH levels down greatly, blood pressure has lowered, and my sleep has improved immensely. So grateful for Dr. Dean and ReMag. She has saved my life. No drugs here just HER FORMULAS. Love you Dr. Dean. Linda: Friday will be the end of my fourth week on The Total Body ReSet (ReMag, ReMyte, ReAline, ReStructure, RnA ReSet Drops). Although very fatigued today, yesterday I had a great day. I had forgotten what it was like to feel good. It was more than just that though. I was aware of my entire body being rejuvenated. I wasn't struggling to breathe when I did my treadmill. My thinking was not foggy and the night before I got six hours of straight-through sleep. I haven't slept more than 2 ½ hrs straight for quite a few years now. Also no AFib for eight days. I have been a very sick little puppy for so long. My husband, a year ago, was thinking about making arrangements for a burial plot. I now have hope I will be around a few more years. Let me be clear – if you have been prescribed a hypertensive drug therapy from your doctor, I do not want you to stop taking your medication and start using poorly made magnesium pill you get at Walgreens. On tonight's show I will go into details about how to incorporate magnesium and other essential nutrients into any hypertension program. And for those who enjoy stable blood pressure performance you'll learn the many ways that consistent, responsible magnesium supplementation into will benefit the body in a multitude of ways while simultaneously maintaining healthy blood pressure. HOUR 2 Adapt & Thrive in the New Environment - Carolyn Dean MD ND I had a very interesting conversation with a practitioner the other day. She said my approach to health, including the Total Body ReSet formulas, was the first she had experienced that sought to help people adapt to the changing environment. I guess I kind of knew that but to hear her express it was very gratifying. In 2010 when I began developing my first product, the RnA ReSet Drops, I was keenly aware of the implications of the electric effect on our bodies and minds. In my Completement Now series I talk about how the electromagnetic fields produced by electrical devices affects human physiology and what steps can be taken to protect our cells and our mitochondria from the Big Tech Effect. Over the years, as the I have continued to development my Completement Formulas, each addition has been specifically crafted to support our bodies this new environment. Radiation from EMF’s is just one of the many challenges we face in 2021. Soil depletion, water and air quality, processed foods, and even a global pandemic have convinced us all that we must adapt and adopt in order to thrive in our bodies and minds. Naysayers may challenge the relevance of supplementation protocols in these challenging times. In some ways, I have a tendency to agree. I’ve seen far too many people who are taking drugs and taking supplements because they are afraid to not take them. Doctors tell people their cholesterol will kill them if they don’t take statins (not true). And alternative medicine doctors often do the same with supplements – or the ad copy you read about supplements makes you feel “less than” if you don’t take every new product that comes along. What should happen is that when you take something you feel better. That’s what happens with the Total Body ReSet formulas. You feel better and you want to keep feeling better. In my famous blog, When Magnesium Makes You Better, I list all the reasons that you can expect to feel better when you start adding this vital nutrient to your regime but it’s not just limited to ReMag – it’s really true of all our formulas as one of our radio show listeners, Joan A. from Ontario, CA shares in this comment: I can attest that after a period, if you take the entire Completement Formula protocol, you are covered – in mind, body, and spirit. The problems of the world are still there of course, but your inner-self develops a Teflon-like endurance – no longer fretting over the “Me, Me” but truly from the inner depth of one’s being, the ability to RELAX AND ALLOW happens without effort. The Drama of life continues – that is why we are here – to be part of it. But instead of it consuming us, we can allow it to dance around us and become the observer at the same time as being able to play safely. Much appreciation to the The Dr. Dean Dream Team: the very best that your Universe has to offer. –Joan Take Completement Formulas and combine them with regular participation in my radio show to be inspired by others’ health success stories, get tips on how to optimize your nutrition and your use of the Formulas. HOUR 1 Magnesium and Brain Health- Carolyn Dean MD ND One of the top eight nutrients for protecting aging brains suggested by the Institute of Food Technologists and highlighted in its magazine, Food Technology is “magnesium”. Unfortunately, most of the U.S. population is magnesium deficient and is not getting their Recommended Daily Allowance of this important mineral. This leaves many Americans at a greater risk for a host of serious brain related health issues including cognitive impairment, stroke with severe post-stroke complications, neurotoxin damage from vast numbers of chemicals in our air, food and water, seizure disorders, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. These conditions are the neurological equivalent of heart disease and are preventable. After all, both the heart and brain are made up of excitable tissues that give off electrical energy, and both must have magnesium to stay healthy and function properly. In fact, magnesium is one of the most widely researched minerals for brain health and has proven remarkably effective in clinical settings. Some of the biological benefits you can expect from magnesium include: Alzheimer’s disease: Magnesium blocks the neuro-inflammation caused by the inappropriate deposition of calcium and other heavy metals in brain cells. Magnesium is at work even before the inflammation appears, guarding cell ion channels and not allowing heavy metals to enter. Magnesium protects the brain from the toxic effects of chemicals such as food additives. Brain dysfunction: Download a free copy of Magnesium in the Central Nervous System (2011) for an extensive overview of the beneficial effects of magnesium on the brain. https://www.adelaide.edu.au/press/titles/magnesium/ Depression: Serotonin, which elevates mood, is dependent on magnesium. A magnesium-deficient brain is also more susceptible to allergens and foreign substances, which in some instances can cause symptoms similar to mental illness. Magnesium deficiency can produce symptoms of anxiety or depression, including muscle weakness, fatigue, eye twitches, insomnia, anorexia, apathy, apprehension, poor memory, confusion, anger, nervousness, and rapid pulse. Serotonin, the “feel-good” brain chemical that is boosted by some psychiatric medications with their dangerously harmful side-effects, depends on magnesium for its production and function. The body needs magnesium in order to release and bind adequate amounts of serotonin in the brain for balanced mental functioning. Cognitive deficits in general and diseases such as dementia are often associated with reduced cerebral blood flow. Magnesium improves the blood flow in the brain and is being used to rehab the brain after stroke. Another wonderful benefit of magnesium: brain plasticity! You’ve heard the term – but what does it mean? Well, a synapse is the place where a signal passes from one nerve cell to another. Synaptic plasticity is the biological process by which specific patterns of synaptic activity result in changes in synaptic strength and is thought to contribute to learning and memory. One study found that synaptic plasticity is a key characteristic of nerve architecture that allows your brain to tolerate stress, recover from trauma, and make changes. Synaptic plasticity is based on having your brain nourished with magnesium in order to properly energize brain cells and prevent them from being inflamed, damaged and functionally impaired. Magnesium is a natural anti-inflammatory. The health of your nerve cell membranes is vital to their plasticity and in addition to aerobic exercise which stimulates brain plasticity, the study found that the intake of magnesium above the normal dietary amount or Recommended Daily Allowance has a dramatic effect on improving multiple aspects of memory and learning. These findings applied to both young and old alike. Magnesium was found to directly improve synaptic plasticity. Various regions in the brain associated with learning and memory experienced significant improvements in synaptic function as a result of magnesium dietary supplementation. In my experience the Recommended Daily Allowance of 300 mg to 400 mg is inadequate for important functions of magnesium including optimal brain function. Keep in mind, magnesium is required for 1,000 enzyme functions in the body. Over the years I have seen significant health improvement in individuals consuming an absorbable form of magnesium such as ReMag in the 600 mg – 900 mg range. HOUR 2 Magnesium and Brain Health- Carolyn Dean MD ND One of the top eight nutrients for protecting aging brains suggested by the Institute of Food Technologists and highlighted in its magazine, Food Technology is “magnesium”. HOUR 2 Magnesium for Mom on Mother’s Day- Carolyn Dean MD ND The human body’s ability to absorb magnesium declines with age, so elderly people who do not eat an adequate diet and those who use prescription drugs that deplete the body’s magnesium are at risk. This is a perfect job for ReMag. Here’s a wonderful testimonial from a customer who got her mother to experience The Magnesium Miracle: I wanted to send in a good news story. My step-mom who is 77 started ReMag 4 weeks ago and is just at 1 tsp/day. However, even at that low dose the results have been remarkable! Her muscle weakness disappeared in just 5 days and she says she has muscle tone back. She has stopped using her cane. She is very optimistic now after all the changes she has had in such a short period of time. She is going to add in the ReMyte and I suggested she try upping her ReMag dosage. I have been doing the Total Body ReSet program since March. I have had many improvements although for me it seems more gradual, and I am still hopeful. Elderly people in the United States represent an emerging high-risk group for nutritional deficiencies but because they seem to have an even stronger constitution than their offspring they seem to respond very quickly as you observed with Dee’s mother. A magnesium deficit in the elderly can occur due to inadequate nutrient intakes, multiple drug use, altered gastrointestinal function and/or frequent urination. Magnesium has been targeted as a risk factor for elderly people and has been implicated in the aging process. If you want to make sure your Mom doesn’t succumb to the risk factors of magnesium deficiency, give her the most highly absorbed, non-laxative form of magnesium in ReMag. Once she experiences the benefit of highly absorbed minerals like ReMag she’ll be happy to add other necessary formulas to her daily routine like Susanna’s mother did as she recounts in her latest update: Here's the update on my Mom's recent cataract surgery. This is her second and this one includes her being mineralized with Re-Mag, ReMyte, ReCalcia as well as a daily dose of Pico Silver. With her first cataract surgery she was getting ReMag through the lotion, which she applied several times a day to her hands and whole body after her shower. The difference post-surgery compared to her first surgery was dramatic. Both the doctor and the nurse were surprised with how well she could see. The swelling was much less than what was experienced in the first surgery. More eye drops were prescribed to help decrease the swelling after the first surgery and the drops were given for six weeks. One week after the second surgery my Mom's ophthalmologist instructed us to begin weaning her off the eye drops. She also said that she was doing so well in both eyes that she may not need glasses at all. After the first surgery the doctor said more than likely she would need bifocals to help her near vision. But now she says potentially no glasses! In a month my Mom is scheduled to have her vision tested to see what, if any, prescription lenses are needed. I can see why people are flocking to take the complete line of Completement Formulas! The results are remarkable and unmistakable!! Don’t keep the rest of your family from experiencing the joy of adding Dr. Dean’s protocols to your health regime. Turns out that over 80% of America’s are highly deficient in many essential nutrients including magnesium, vitamin D, zinc, vitamin C and the essential, stress-reducing vitamin B complex found in ReAline. Here’s what could be in store for you and your loved ones: My husband and I wrote you an email about a month ago telling you how amazing your products are and how great we were feeling with only 3 weeks into your protocol. We have been on your products for about 3 months now and feel terrific!! My husband's sugar levels are great! So, are mine! We continue with the Ketogenic diet along with the yeast protocol. The terrible pain I had on my back, legs and feet for years, is about gone! My insomnia is gone and I sleep so well at night, it is truly a miracle! My husband's back pain (due to an injury) is also gone and he also sleeps very soundly at night. We are full of energy and feel amazing! Thank you Dr. Dean for creating such a miracle in our lives. HOUR 2 Kidneys Require Magnesium- Carolyn Dean MD ND The NIH acknowledges a “growing burden of kidney disease.” Statistics show a sharp increase with kidney disease affecting one in ten American adults. More and more people are looking for alternatives to improve the structure and function of their kidneys. That’s why one of the most requested sections from my book, The Magnesium Miracle (2017), is entitled, “Kidney Disease” and it’s partly because kidney patients are being told that they can’t take magnesium! Magnesium and Kidney Disease: The Issue I’ve been writing about kidneys and magnesium supplementation for years to clear up the confusion about how and when to use magnesium if you have any degree of kidney disease. My article, “Kidney Artery Calcification Causes Kidney Disease,” gives a simple explanation of why doctors, who may be uniformed about magnesium, tell patients to avoid taking it. That is because patients with no kidney function, who are on dialysis, can build up high levels of magnesium if they are given IV magnesium. That’s right, if the kidneys are badly damaged, magnesium is not released. Those cases led to doctors giving "blanket" advice that patients should avoid magnesium if they have ANY level of kidney disease. Magnesium is necessary for 80% of metabolic functions, that’s why everybody, including people with kidney disease must have magnesium. But it has to be in a bioavailable form. If it’s bioavailable, which means it goes directly into the cells, then it’s not building up in the blood and blocked from being eliminated through the kidneys. What Causes Chronic Kidney Disease? Modern medicine says Chronic Kidney Disease ("CKD") is epidemic because of obesity, hypertension, smoking, and lipid disorders. But they admit they really do not know exactly what is causing it. The lab findings are: elevated levels of serum phosphorus, serum calcium, PTH, and FGF-23 (Fibroblast Growth Factor). CKD develops as the kidneys slow down their filtration of urine and hold onto calcium and phosphorous. Even though medical texts say that calcium and magnesium compete with each other, and an excess of one can lead to excretion of the other, there was absolutely no mention of magnesium in these writings. What if the calcium and phosphorus elevation come first and then cause kidney damage? Holding onto calcium is something the body does naturally. Whereas magnesium is flushed out through the urine or bowels when the body is under stress or in at times when you have saturated yourself with magnesium. The likely reason is that early mankind lived near oceans with access to fish, seaweeds and thus plenty of magnesium, but with few calcium sources, like dairy and green leafy vegetables. Ocean water has three times more magnesium than calcium and twice more magnesium than phosphorus. Therefore, enhancing calcium absorption and preventing magnesium excess were survival mechanisms that were encoded in our wiring millennia ago. Current promotion of calcium as supplements and fortified foods makes us a very calcified population. Elevated calcium and phosphorous trigger an alarm in the endocrine system which responds by trying to keep calcium and phosphate serum concentrations in balance. However, elevated PTH (parathyroid hormone), even though it does decrease phosphorous, also increases calcium. Vitamin D3, which is processed in the kidney, will decline, and that decreases calcium. So, there is a great push and pull in the midst of all these balancing mechanisms. As kidney disease progresses, the rise in serum calcium and phosphate leads to calcification in soft tissues, particularly in blood vessels. Supplementing Magnesium Improves Kidney Function and Is Safe Not only do I believe using magnesium is safe I believe it’s necessary. In “Kidney Artery Calcification Causes Kidney Disease,” I discuss the problem of calcification of the renal arteries and the role magnesium plays in dissolving calcium: Another scenario plays out in the kidneys and bladder. If there is too much calcium in the kidneys and not enough magnesium to dissolve it, you can develop kidney stones. Calcium deposited on the bladder wall can make it rigid, lower its capacity, and lead to frequent urination and leaking. A 2015 study confirms magnesium’s role in dissolving calcium crystals in artery calcification. Kidney artery calcification is common in chronic kidney disease and may be as common as coronary artery calcification in the heart, but it has been neglected because it cannot be treated with stents or artery bypass. Let me simplify my view. If any of you know my work with magnesium, you know that too much calcium will knock out magnesium. So, my first thought would be to treat CKD with ReMag, which would naturally diminish calcium and phosphorus. Since magnesium is required by over 1000 enzymes systems in the body, you can be sure it is required by the kidneys. Magnesium also has about 4,000 receptor sites on body proteins. However, as I mentioned above, doctors have been conditioned to avoid magnesium in kidney disease. I even have kidney failure as a contraindication in my Magnesium Miracle book. However, there is a great deal of difference between kidney disease and kidney failure. So, I think doctors are avoiding it to the detriment of patients' health, and their treatment approach is actually increasing magnesium deficiency. How Do I Improve My Kidney Health? I continue to lobby for ionized magnesium and calcium testing for the public. You can use these tests as guides to balance your magnesium to calcium ratios (I usually suggest 1:1.). So, I urge you to lobby for this type of testing, too. I also suggest you consider using ReMag to saturate your body with magnesium. Over time, your body will use the magnesium to dissolve the calcium in your arteries. Keep a food diary of the calcium rich foods you eat. Aim for ingesting 600 mg of calcium per day from your food. If for some reason you cannot do this (You don't eat dairy, fish, or green leafy vegetables, for example.), then supplement your shortfall with ReCalcia. Consider adding other minerals that may be deficient with our ReMyte multiple mineral. Since kidney disease and diabetes often march hand-in-hand, investigate a low carb/medium protein/high fat meal plan. I point you to my interview with Dr. Jason Fung, internationally-known nephrologist who suggests the keto diet with modified fasting to improve pancreas and kidney function. HOUR 2 The Important Role of Supplements in Immune Protection -Carolyn Dean MD ND For the longest time your doctor said that if you ate a variety of foods, you would get all the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that you needed to prevent disease and stay healthy. By 2021, Big Agra has compromised our food system to such an extent that food can no longer be your medicine…exclusively no matter what vegans and vegetarians say. Commonsense says that your body can only stay healthy and disease-free if you give it the right building blocks. However, due to soil depletion, even the best organic foods no longer contain enough nutrients to provide those building blocks. In their pursuit of health, people are finding that supplementation is equally important. In fact, the American Dietary Association studied 70 diets to find that each one fell short of the RDA for recommended micronutrient intake from food alone! To make matters worse, the health care system separates you into your body parts, treating each part individually with a different drug or surgery. Alternative medicine doctors, in a vain attempt to identify the underlying cause, turn to expensive lab tests and dig into the minutia of genetic variations, hair tissue mineral analysis, hormone testing, amino acid analysis, and vitamin and mineral blood tests. Most testing is not reproducible and is inaccurate and confusing, leading to recommendations for extensive, expensive, and ineffective supplementation. Worst of all is the failure of the Department of Health and Human Services to alert the public to the epidemic of nutritional deficiencies. America’s health report card has demonstrated our national health crisis prior to the COVID pandemic. In fact, the incidence of chronic health conditions like obesity, asthma, kidney disease, COPD, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer among our citizens has been rising in crisis proportions since the early 2000’s. We have created a perfect storm leaving us in a public health crisis that must be solved at the individual level for it’s the individual that makes up the statistics that drive our very poor health outcomes in this country. Preventative health strategies create a demand for supplementation that is not addressed by allopathic medicine or the Department of Health. Preventing the conditions which create disease states rely on pre-emptive attention to nutritional deficiencies. With food choices leading the preventative measures list unfortunately the same soil depletion and contamination issues apply. I’m often asked about my own supplement regimen. After 45+ years of research, I’ve created the Completement Formulas. There are 17 formulas that I have created to achieve my own personal health goals and I share that information freely with the public. In 2020, I became concerned about my own immune system and focused on products that I felt would need in order to protect my own immune system and that of my extended family. Join me this evening on my weekly radio show as I discuss how to feed your cells the nutrients you’ll need to support your immune system: Water & Sea Salt Guidelines: Drink ½ your body weight (in pounds) in ounces of water. If you weigh 150 lbs you will drink 75 ounces. Sea salt – Add 1/4 tsp of unprocessed sea salt to every quart of drinking water. · Magnesium: ReMag Solution – in picometer, stabilized, ionic form for superior cellular absorption, in a reverse osmosis water carrier · Pico Silver is a dietary supplement that supports the structure and function of the immune system. Silver has been used for centuries to protect the immune system and support wellness. Pico Silver is a stabilized ionic form of silver that is fully absorbed. Dosage is 1/2 tsp – 6 tsp a day depending on the needs of the immune system. HOUR 1 The Important Role of Supplements in Immune Protection -Carolyn Dean MD ND For the longest time your doctor said that if you ate a variety of foods, you would get all the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that you needed to prevent disease and stay healthy. See my eBook, Pico Silver: Clearing Up the Controversy, for more information on this unique product. · Pico Zinc -- Zinc, according to the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, plays an important role in the structure and function of the immune system. We're back with Part 2 of our series on Magnesium. This week we look at the different types of magnesium supplement, and ways to avoid the laxative effect. We talk about ReMag (the ionic form of magnesium supplementation), Magnesium Citrate, Magnesium Sulphate (also known as Epson Salts), Magnesium Oxide and Magnesium L-threonate. We also touch on different ways to absorb magnesium through sprays such as magnesium oil. Find out which magnesium might be best for brain health, and which ones to avoid if you get migraine attacks. Exciting news too - we'll be interviewing Dr. Carolyn Dean, author of The Magnesium Miracle. So let us know if you have any questions about magnesium by messaging us on FB or Instagram at MigraineXalone, or emailing podcast@migraineawareness.com.au . HOUR 2Yeast Overgrowth – Do I Have It and What Do I Do? -- Carolyn Dean MD ND I’ve been studying health since my teens, and over the past five decades I’ve developed a very wide overview and perspective on our current health care crisis. Speaking with thousands of patients, clients, and callers on my radio show, I’ve identified two clear causes of most health problems. They are Mineral Deficiency and Yeast Overgrowth Syndrome – and most people suffer from both. The treatment that I recommend is ReMag and Yeast Management with Flora ReVive and Pico Silver. When your yeast is under control, you can alternate with Flora ReVive Lite. Candidiasis, Candida Related Complex, Candida Hypersensitivity, and Yeast Allergies are all names for what I call Yeast Overgrowth Syndrome, which is a condition where yeast has overgrown and outgrown its natural environment in the large intestine and has invaded the small intestine. It is a health threat that remains untreated, mistreated, and if it’s ever recognized, it is undertreated. I call the protocol that goes with eliminating yeast overgrowth the Yeast ReSet because a certain amount of yeast is natural to our body and we have to hit the ReSet button to achieve the right balance. There are a wide range of symptoms associated with Yeast Overgrowth. Perhaps, once identified, you can eliminate these conditions by balancing your yeast. I have witnessed this first-hand as many every patient, client and customer I’ve had over the past few years has had some level of Yeast Overgrowth and most didn’t know it despite thoroughly researching their condition. Skin Conditions Most skin rashes can be made worse by Yeast Overgrowth. They can either be due to a physical yeast infection on the skin or a result of yeast toxins being excreted through your sweat. For example, symptoms of psoriasis can be due to a yeast toxin called Zymosan. Since the standard treatment of skin rashes is cortisone creams, it’s very important to know that cortisone can grow yeast and make it worse in the long run. Ear, Nose, Eye and Throat Symptoms Most doctors and patients feel that many of the following symptoms are related to hay fever allergies. That’s partly correct because many people with Yeast Overgrowth also have allergies as a result of their compromised immune system, and the fact that the mucus membranes of the nose and throat are so irritated by yeast that they are defenseless against pollens, chemical smells, and odors. Gastrointestinal Symptoms For people who have the following GI symptoms, the first diagnosis often made is that of IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). However, having written the book IBS for Dummies, I learned that most people with IBS and IBD have a degree of YOS, if not from the disease itself, then certainly from the antibiotics they take for bowel infection. Genitourinary Symptoms Any mucus membrane can be subject to the irritation and inflammation of yeast and yeast toxins. Vaginal symptoms are often associated more directly with YOS and therefore are self-treated with vaginal creams. The same can be said for rashes on the penis. Heart Symptoms Gas and bloating in the small intestine can press up under the diaphragm and interfere with normal diaphragmatic breathing. Gas building up under the diaphragm can even put pressure on the heart and potentially interfere with the heart rhythm. Musculoskeletal Symptoms When yeast toxins invade the blood stream they can settle in the joints causing painful inflammation and swelling. Doctors in the West don’t seem to understand how this can happen. However, in my Chinese Medicine training, I learned that certain internal meridians divert infection and inflammation to the joints in order to protect the internal organs. How smart of the body! But not so smart when we treat joint pain with drugs that try to suppress the inflammation and not get to the root cause and treat YOS. Hormonal Imbalance I learned from Dr. Ari Wojdani early on in my Candida training that Candida toxins cross-react with most of the organs in the body. They also block receptor sites on hormonal organs like the thyroid, ovaries, and adrenal glands. Immune Deficiency and Autoimmune Disease The immune system is the first line of defense against YOS and against yeast toxins, but the immune system can only do so much. It can become overloaded with toxins so that it doesn’t defend against common ailments. Yeast toxins can cross-react with body tissues, which can cause the immune system to attack these tissues in an autoimmune disease process. The symptoms of an impaired immune system and autoimmune disease are very extensive. When your immune system is run down you are more susceptible to just about any disease. Unfortunately, prednisone is the usual drug treatment for suspected autoimmune disease, and steroid drugs encourage YOS. Mood Disorders Your intestines send signals to your brain, and vice versa. Therefore, when your intestines are suffering from an overgrowth of yeast, this can cause symptoms like depression and anxiety. Yeast overgrowth can produce up to 178 different toxins. As these toxins are absorbed in the colon and enter the bloodstream they can cause irritations and symptoms in every part of the body including serotonin in the gut and receptors in the brain. Tonight on Dr. Carolyn Dean live we’ll be taking a deep dive into yeast overgrowth, do I have it and what do I do? HOUR 2The Ultimate Holiday Wish for 2020 – ReMag for ALL- Carolyn Dean MD ND It’s here! The holiday season is upon us and in 2020 with it comes the additional stress of the unknown with many having to navigate a whole host of circumstances and health challenges they haven’t faced before. In this time of unprecedented contrast, stress, and mental and physical challenges, Dr. Carolyn Dean has the ultimate holiday wish for one and all – the joyful expectation of a wonderfully healthy, happy body and mind. Achieving that outcome could be as simple as adding beneficial amounts of magnesium to your daily health routine. A recent Gallup poll suggests that eight out of ten Americans are stressed. With numbers as high as these, it pays to consider natural solutions, like magnesium, for improving wellness. In one of Dr. Dean’s most highly recommended free resource guides, Magnesium in the Central Nervous System, the correlation between magnesium and stress reduction is well documented. This book’s research notes that magnesium is strongly associated with stress levels. More specifically, magnesium deficiency symptoms include an increase in stress levels and other health issues, which only add to stress levels. When stress is a symptom of magnesium deficiency, magnesium helps with stress. Claims are made that both hypomagnesemia, meaning magnesium deficiency, and stress feed off each other and create adverse effects within the body. Furthermore, the book concludes that magnesium deficiency is associated with several, stress-related conditions, including: Photosensitive headachesFibromyalgiaAudiogenic stressChronic fatigue syndromeCold stressPhysical stressIn studies, cortisol and adrenaline production were also associated with magnesium deficiency. These byproducts, stemming from a “fight or flight” reaction, often come during times of anxiety or stress. When the body experiences more stress, it naturally uses more magnesium. This further reduces the body’s magnesium stores, causing a greater deficiency. It doesn’t matter what causes the stress a person is experiencing; any time you experience the effects of increased worry and anxiety, the body will require more magnesium to function correctly. To recover from stress, it’s vital to get full, restful sleep - another area that magnesium plays a role. Studies indicate that magnesium promotes healthy sleep by activating the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps you feel relaxed and calm. HOUR 19 Reasons Your Body Needs Magnesium--Carolyn Dean MD NDTONIGHT on Dr. Carolyn Dean Live we will be talking with medical doctor and naturopath Carolyn Dean MD ND, author of The Magnesium Miracle, about 9 reasons your body needs magnesium. Energy Production Magnesium's most important function is the creation and transport of energy in the trillions of cells making up our body. Magnesium is a cofactor in the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) which transports chemical energy within cells for metabolism. Virus Protection Several aspects of COVID imitate magnesium deficiency. When magnesium is in abundant supply the body's immune response enzymes, such as GTPase, work properly to protect cells from invasion. Anxiety and Depression In the 2010 review by Eby and Eby, the relationship between low Mg intake as a risk factor for MD appears to have extremely important preventative and treatment implications. Daily supplementation should be a universal prevention strategy. Insomnia This is one of the most common questions about magnesium, as magnesium deficiency is associated with high levels of stress, difficulty relaxing and more anxiety, which are all key reasons people have trouble sleeping. In a small study, magnesium for sleep was used on 43 older adults. Of those that took the supplement, the majority fell asleep faster and also spent more of their time asleep. Another study showed that restless leg syndrome could be controlled with magnesium supplements, which is another reason some people have trouble sleeping. It would appear the proper amount of magnesium causes relaxation and helps people take advantage of natural sleep rhythms for better rest. Protein Production Recent research has found that magnesium is required for the structural integrity of numerous body proteins. To date, 3,751 magnesium receptor sites have been found on human proteins. RNA & DNA Magnesium is required for the structural integrity of nucleic acids. Consequently, magnesium is a requirement for RNA and DNA production. Protein Synthesis Magnesium is used in synergy with dozens of other vitamins, minerals, nutrients and enzymes to modify food and create the structural components of the body. RNA and DNA, which contain the genetic blueprints for the formation of all the protein molecules in the body, are dependent on magnesium. Transmitting Nerve Signals and Regulating Calcium Magnesium permits a small amount of calcium to enter a nerve cell, just enough to allow electrical transmission along the nerves to and from the brain. Even our thoughts, via brain neurons, are dependent on magnesium. With insufficient magnesium levels, too much calcium accumulates in the cell and triggers excessive contraction and disrupts cell function. Excess calcium is pro-inflammatory and can excite nerves to the point of cell death. Too much calcium unregulated due to magnesium deficiency can deposit in soft tissues and may become toxic, causing painful conditions such as some forms of arthritis, kidney stones, osteoporosis and calcification of the arteries leading to heart attack and cardiovascular disease. Thus, magnesium is a natural calcium channel blocker without the harmful side-effects of calcium channel blocking medications. 700-800 Enzyme Processes According to magnesium researcher, Dr. Andrea Rosanoff, "While it was estimated in 1968 that magnesium was a required cofactor for over 300 enzyme processes, that number is now more reliably estimated at 700 to 800." Support for Heart Health Having low levels of magnesium can contribute to vascular calcification, which is when minerals deposit inside your blood vessel walls. This can spell bad news for your heart health. But maintaining adequate magnesium levels may support your heart health. According to studies, people who consume diets rich in magnesium may have help supporting healthy blood pressure levels. Muscle Function Magnesium is intimately involved in efficient muscle function. The mechanisms include oxygen uptake, electrolyte balance, and energy production. Magnesium relaxes muscles and balances calcium which contracts muscles, working together to make muscles work properly. Magnesium supplementation is critical to overall health. Not all forms of magnesium are easily absorbed by the body. Dr. Dean recommends ReMag, her proprietary liquid magnesium formula. The long term effects of a body without magnesium spells problems for body and mind. Learn more tonight on Dr. Carolyn Dean LIVE. Morley Robbins The Magnesium Man I just finished your recent interview with Morley Robbins – it was great! I’ve listened to at least a half a dozen interviews of Morley from various internet radio programs over the last few years and this one of yours (Aug 11, 2020) is THE BEST! – thanks and I’m looking forward to your follow up interview with him. – John Morley Robbins is the creator of The Root Cause Protocol. Morley (aka. “Magnesium Man”) is one of the foremost experts on Magnesium’s role in the body, and the delicate dance Magnesium plays with Iron, Copper, and Calcium. In 2012, Morley founded the Magnesium Advocacy Group (GotMag.org). And he remains the de facto leader of the Magnesium Advocacy Group on Facebook, with over 175,000+ members (and growing daily). As a certified health coach with an expertise in Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA), Morley has performed over 4,500 one-on-one consultations with clients from around the world. rcp123.org Show highlights: Morley tells us about his solid vow to integrity he made in his 30s and how it helps him deal with the craziness of today Metabolic integrity; the body always knows the truth How the powers that be have been manipulating the body for years by convincing society that what is good is bad Morley talks about George Orwell and shares some numerology; very interesting When the powers that be are consistently wrong, it makes us wonder if it’s by design Questions from listeners: I have gotten frequent bloody noses in my lifetime, especially when it gets dry in the winter. Since I have learned about blood letting, I have tried to let my nose bleed in the shower and eventually it stops and then I don’t get a bloody nose for quite a while. Maybe it relieves the pressure in my cardiovascular system? Went to my Reflexologist and we had a discussion about iron …. he said giving blood wasn’t as important… but taking calcium citrate will take the extra iron in our body out…. urine.. poop…. what does Morley think of this ? What might Morley say about Dr. Carolyn Dean’s ReMag magnesium product in that as little as 1/2 tsp causes insomnia/racing thoughts even many hours after taking it? If ceruloplasmin and RBC magnesium levels are optimal, does that mean the protocol has accomplished it’s goal and can be stopped? In this case, if zinc levels remain low, does that mean the deficiency us caused by something other than magnesium and copper balance?
HOUR 2Building Blocks for Cardiovascular Health -- Carolyn Dean MD ND Cardiovascular health is not constructed on the basis of a single nutrient or a single approach. Instead, the key building blocks for cardiovascular performance work holistically and synergistically to achieve their health outcomes. Actually, ALL nutrients work together to perform their functions in the body. Longitudinal clinical studies on the effects of nutrients on cardiovascular health point to several true ‘GIANTS’ in the field: magnesium, potassium, vitamin B6, B12, vitamin C and D3/K2. Dietary intake of whole food Sustaining health and well-being starts by a review of your dietary intake of fresh, whole food. Start with whole, complete foods including healthy proteins, only a few servings of fruit a day, and raw or lightly cooked vegetables. Avoid processed foods and oils, sugars, and gluten that diminish health and vitality. Even with a good diet, you’ll get less magnesium, minerals, and vitamins in your food than you would have gotten 30 years ago because of the way our farmland has been depleted and our food is being heavily processed. The Benefits of Dietary Supplements To complete your diet and optimize your cardiovascular performance it’s important to take highly absorbed, food-based, meticulously prepared formulas created by Dr. Carolyn Dean. Here’s a list of where to start and why:Magnesium is an essential mineral that serves as a structural component of the skeleton; assists in 1,000 enzymatic reactions involved in the synthesis of energy, DNA, and proteins; and is required for proper nerve conduction and muscle contraction. The way in which magnesium influences cardiac health is well researched and well documented. Magnesium supports vascular health, lowers inflammatory mediators and reduce a angiotensin-induced aldosterone synthesis, all of which can lower blood pressure. Dr. Dean's magnesium recommendation: ReMag Magnesium Solution. Vitamin D is actually a hormone and is made by the body through summer sun exposure, 30 minutes if you have fair skin with as much skin exposed as possible. If you can’t get proper exposure to the sun, then Dr. Dean recommends supplementing with Vitamin D. To get the most benefit from vitamin D you have to have the other co-factors in your body as well – those include magnesium, vitamin K2, zinc, and boron. Both zinc and boron can be found in ReMyte Mineral Solution – ReMag’s sister mineral product and you can get vitamin D3K2 from Dr. Dean’s D2K2ReSet. Vitamin K2 is needed to get calcium in the body where it needs to be, in bones and teeth, not arteries, and it protects against vitamin D toxicity. Like magnesium, nearly everyone is deficient, because our eggs and butter and other natural sources are either missing from the diet or come from industrially raised animals not fed on grass. Vitamin K2 supplementation may dramatically reduce fracture rates and even reverses arterial calcification. Vitamin B-6 – Vitamin B6 (pyridoxal-5-phosphate). As a coenzyme, vitamin B6 assists in an amazing variety of tasks – the creation of heme, the iron-containing component of red blood cells; making the hormone serotonin (the “feel good” hormone); processing carbohydrates for energy; keeping the nervous system working smoothly, and supporting hundreds of other jobs. Having low levels of this key nutrient can lead to skin disorders, depression, dizziness, headaches, and other, more serious problems, such as heart attacks and strokes. Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate, or P5P as it is commonly known, is the active form of vitamin B6 found in Dr. Dean’s product, ReAline. In foods or most supplements, vitamin B6 is found in one of three forms: pyridoxine hydrochloride, pyridoxal, or pyridoxamine. Inside the body, these forms of B6 have to be converted by the liver to the active form the body needs – P5P. Low rates of conversion from the inactive to the active form of vitamin B6 have been reported, especially in people with impaired liver function, Celiac’s disease, older adults, and in children with autism. By consuming vitamin B6 in the active P5P form, conversion is no longer necessary, and the full benefits are available immediately after absorption. Vitamin C - Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) neutralizes a variety of reactive oxygen species and recycles important cellular antioxidants. The antioxidant activities of vitamin C may protect the lining of blood vessels from damage caused by oxidative stress and increase the availability of nitric oxide, a gaseous signaling molecule that helps relax arterial walls. Vitamin C ReSet is a really fun way to get your daily dose of vitamin C in a sparkly, delicious berry drink! HOUR 2September is Atrial Fibrillation Month -- Carolyn Dean MD ND September is Atrial Fibrillation Awareness Month although in Dr. Dean’s world we say Atrial Fibrillation is a Magnesium Deficiency Awareness Month. While hospital departments and health organizations want you to know about the drug and surgical treatment for AFib, on tonight’s radio show we focus on magnesium and mineral deficiencies that may trigger AFib and other heart rhythm abnormalities. Magnesium deficiency is very common in people with a compromised cardiovascular system. However, magnesium deficiency itself can mimic cardiovascular symptoms. In some hospitals, magnesium is administered for acute myocardial infarction and cardiac arrhythmia. Like any other muscle, the heart requires magnesium. Magnesium’s role in preventing heart disease and strokes is accepted in these hospitals for acute conditions, yet most cardiologists and family doctors do not recognize and respond to magnesium deficiency conditions in their primary care protocols. An average of 1,671 American’s die suddenly and unexpectedly of a heart attack every day. Millions of people around the world are in the same position as those who have recently transitioned – with high cholesterol, high blood pressure and on several medications to avoid having a heart attack. Yet the treatments for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and high blood sugar all deplete magnesium and cause worsening of these three very common conditions. Magnesium acts by the same mechanisms as statin drugs to lower cholesterol. Every metabolic activity in the body depends on enzymes. Making cholesterol, for example, requires a specific enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase. Magnesium slows down this enzymatic reaction when it is present in sufficient quantities. It’s the same enzyme that statin drugs target and inhibit. However, magnesium is the natural way that the body has evolved to control cholesterol when it reaches a certain level, whereas statin drugs are used to destroy the whole process. In addition to the ‘traditional’ form of heart disease, heart rhythm issues plague many Americans. Atrial fibrillation is the most commonly diagnosed heart arrhythmia, reaching epidemic proportions. In the US, AFib hospitalizations increased by 23% between 2000 and 2010. In 2010 there were about 5.2 million people with AFib; that number is expected to escalate to 12.1 million cases in 2030. Fortunately for us, Dr. Carolyn Dean has a pretty good idea of what’s going on and how to help millions of American’s suffering with magnesium deficiency symptoms that affect the structure and function of the cardiovascular system. Dr. Carolyn Dean has been helping educate the public and practitioners about the role of magnesium in proper heart function and, in Dan’s case, while he was waiting to see his doctor, he learned quite a bit about how ReMag could support his health. However, Dr. Dean would encourage Dan to also take Pico Potassium, Whole C ReSet, and our D3-K2 ReSet to ReSet his Heart. Hi, Dr. Dean. Three months ago, I was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation by my General Practitioner. I am not on drugs yet and I have been referred to a highly reputable cardiologist here in Northern California who has me wearing a heart monitor for two weeks to see what’s going on with the AFib. I am having to wait 2 months to meet with him to get the results and what he wants me to do for treatment. In the meantime, I found your booklet called Heart Health. This was very encouraging to read and I have started taking ReMag. I have noticed the heart palpitations when taking the magnesium are less or not at all and I have some days that are normal. I have had the RBC blood test and yes, my magnesium was low. I also had a cardio ultra sound and my heart is normal. I am very grateful to be making progress and have more hope than before that I will be okay. Is Potassium Important for Good Health? Carolyn Dean MD ND Our listeners are starting to ask me as many questions about potassium as they do about magnesium, so I think this is an excellent topic for today’s radio show. I will discuss potassium and its importance for good health, whether supplementing with potassium is a good idea, why there’s only 99 mg of potassium in a dietary supplement, and how to add potassium to your diet. Is Potassium Important for Good Health? In my eBooks, Invisible Minerals: Part II – ReMyte & ReCalcia and Pico Potassium, I talk about the importance of potassium: Potassium is the third most abundant element in the human body. Calcium is first and phosphorous is second. Potassium is mostly found inside the cells to the tune of 98 percent, whereas 98 percent of sodium is found outside the cells. The intracellular-to-extracellular dance of potassium and sodium helps create and conduct electrical impulses in muscle cells and nerves. Calcium and magnesium do a similar dance. Potassium deficiency leads to muscle cramps and arrhythmias, but to a lesser extent than magnesium deficiency, the reason being that potassium deficiency is less common than magnesium deficiency. Since 98 percent of potassium is found inside the cells, measuring potassium in the blood can be misleading. Potassium is an important electrolyte for pH balance and fluid retention. Like most other minerals, it activates various enzymes; the most surprising one is related to metabolizing sugar. The Relationship between Potassium and Magnesium A potassium deficiency may be found on a blood test but not show a magnesium deficiency. If you have low magnesium and low potassium, your potassium won’t improve when you take potassium supplements unless you also take magnesium. Because doctors don’t use an accurate test for magnesium, they never find the underlying problem. Additionally, low potassium levels can increase urinary magnesium loss, and magnesium deficiency exacerbates a potassium deficiency. The RDA for potassium is 4-5 grams (not milligrams) daily, because potassium levels in the body are so high. You can get potassium through your diet, especially if you eat a lot of vegetables. But you can’t boil them and throw away the cooking water which contains all the potassium. Here is a list of some potassium-rich foods: all green, leafy vegetablesbananasnutsavocadoscitrus fruitpotatoesShould I Take Potassium Supplements? In my naturopathic training and when I was researching my Magnesium Miracle book, l learned that potassium has very important interactions with magnesium, however I was still reluctant to recommend potassium supplements because of the FDA ruled that a potassium supplement can only contain 99 mgs of potassium. Instead, I encouraged people to make potassium broth and eat lots of vegetables, thinking that would be enough. I changed my mind about potassium supplements when I realized some of my customers with atrial fibrillation, even though they were becoming saturated with ReMag, still had symptoms, which I attributed to low potassium. Many of my customers were on the Keto diet and had cut back on their vegetable carbs. Some people were recommending cream of tartar powder for its high potassium content – but I was concerned that they wouldn’t know how much potassium they were taking and could overdose. Potassium in ReMyte There are only 98 mg of potassium in 1.5 tsp of ReMyte per the FDA dosing guidelines. For the rest of your potassium I depended on potassium in the diet especially potassium broth. However, the current high meat high fat diets are very low in potassium and people are suffering. So… What If I Need More Potassium? I recommend that if someone is not getting 4,700 mg of potassium in their diet; if their blood level of potassium isn’t in the high normal range; if they have heart rhythm symptoms even when they are saturated with 2-4 tsp of ReMag a day; or if they are on a diuretic, they can take Pico Potassium. I think the cronometer app at cronometer.com is a great tool for our customers to learn how much potassium they are getting in their diet and therefore how much more they need to take as a supplement. Pico Potassium is likely absorbed about 2X as much as food or other supplements. I developed this understanding because our ReMag absorption study shows that magnesium is picometer in size and is fully absorbed at the cellular level. We have not yet done a Pico Potassium absorption study but the process for both minerals is the same so the absorption should be similar. So, if you are deficient in your diet by 1200mg, you would take 1.5 tsp of Pico Potassium. 1 tsp = 394mg. Here is a report from a customer taking our Pico Potassium: I’m on my 3rd day of Pico Potassium and I don't how to express it other than to say, I have reached another positive level of wellness, another level of calmness, in spite of the turmoil around us. Please convey my gratitude to the wonderful Dr Dean and her Team for this product. And it also tastes good as well. What a combination they all make together. I suddenly love my water. HOUR 2Vitamins and Minerals -Collaborators in Success-Carolyn Dean MD ND Using nutrition and supplements to boost your health and immune system are an essential part of daily life now in the year 2020. In years past we were told we could all get by with grabbing a few extra veggies at the salad bar or tossing down a green smoothie. But, in today’s environment, where there is so much soil depletion and chemical toxicity in our foods, it’s actually BETTER to rely on pure, highly absorbed certified nutritional formulas. Putting together your daily formulations can be a lot of fun. With a tweak here and a pinch there you figure out your body’s natural response to vitamins and minerals through how much better you feel and how your body performs. And that’s the key – supplements should truly make you feel better - A key pillar of knowledge is how all these nutrients work synergistically because they are crucial co-factors necessary for all the biochemical processes in the body. In addition to magnesium, and vitamin D, Dr. Carolyn Dean, one of the world’s leading experts on vitamin and mineral supplementation, also recommends vitamin K-2 for the metabolism of calcium; zinc for the immune system; and vitamin C for it’s incredible infection fighting properties. Let’s not forget the multi-minerals in ReMyte that are required to support vitamin D metabolism as well as inviting potassium and selenium to the party! On tonight’s live radio show we’ll take a deep dive into this topic and we’ll take your questions and phone calls on the very important topic of Dietary Supplementation – Getting Your Ratio’s Right. Here are some key points to consider:Do you research – Dr. Dean has a free library of books and videos you can rely on for clear, concise information. Commit to good habits - Avoid processed foods, sugars, and other unsavory food products that diminish health and vitality. Focus on proper hydration – many of our listeners know that Dr. Dean recommends drinking 1/2 your body weight (in lbs) in ounces of water daily with the addition of 1/4 tsp of natural sea salt. ReMag – even with a good diet you get less magnesium from your food than you would have thirty years ago because of the demineralization of the soil. This is why is it’s so important to take your ReMag daily. Either follow the protocol by sipping through the day or take it in juice, green tea, or a smoothie with your meals 2 or 3 times a day. Vitamin D is actually a hormone and is made by the body through summer sun exposure. Through our partnership with GrassrootsHealth you can do In Home Testing of your magnesium and vitamin D levels. To get the most benefit from vitamin D you have to have the other co-factors in your body as well – those include magnesium, calcium, and vitamin K. Vitamin K2 is needed to direct calcium where it needs to be, into your bones and teeth, not your arteries, and it protects against vitamin D toxicity. Like magnesium, nearly everyone is deficient in K2 because natural sources like free-range eggs and butter are either missing from the diet or come from industrially raised animals not fed on grass. Vitamin K2 supplementation may dramatically reduce fracture rates and even reverses arterial calcification. Zinc is a mineral you’re going to be hearing about for quite some time to come. Zinc is known for its immune system boosting qualities and antiviral properties and as we incorporate even higher doses of zinc into our daily routine it’s showing itself to have even more diverse properties than we expected. We’ll be talking about those qualities on the show this evening. Vitamin C - Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is an essential nutrient, widely recognized for its antioxidant properties. These properties arise from its potent redox potential due to its capacity to donate electrons to oxidized molecules. Even in small quantities vitamin C can protect critical molecules in the body such as proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, and nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) from damage by reactive oxygen species, which are generated during normal metabolism, by active immune cells, and through exposure to toxins and pollutants (e.g., certain chemotherapy drugs and cigarette smoke). The vitamin also plays a critical role as a cofactor – a molecule that assists enzymes in chemical reactions. This dual nature of vitamin C means that it is instrumental in multiple physiological processes, including those involved in the biosynthesis of collagen, carnitine, and catecholamines. As such, vitamin C participates in immune function, wound healing, fatty acid metabolism, neurotransmitter production, and blood vessel formation, as well as other key processes and pathways. And guess what! Sugar competes with Vitamin C in the cells – so the more sugar you eat, the more you deplete your Vitamin C! So, join us tonight for the rest of the story including the full scope of Dr. Dean’s recommendations. You will love hearing the beneficial interactions with our callers and hosts alike including the body/mind connection, identifying the ‘conflict’ in the ‘conflict basis’ of disease and much more!!
