Join Dr. Pinkston and returning favorite guest, Dr. Carolyn Dean, as they tackle the great confusion surrounding sugar and its profound impact on your health. In this illuminating discussion, you'll learn: The Sugar-Heart Disease Connection: Discover the suppressed history of how the sugar industry successfully blamed fat for heart disease and the critical role of Vitamin C in preventing arterial damage. The Magnesium Link: Understand the biochemistry of how sugar metabolism depletes your body's essential magnesium stores and its direct connection to ATP energy production. Collagen & Scurvy: Hear how high sugar intake bumps off Vitamin C, which is vital for collagen production, potentially leading to weakened blood vessels (scurvy) and the mechanism of arterial plaque formation. The Addiction and Cravings Cycle: Explore why sugar is highly addictive, the role of yeast overgrowth (Candida) in cravings, and how nutrient depletion drives excessive eating. Artificial Sweeteners & Toxicity: Dr. Dean explains the dangers of many synthetic sweeteners, including how they break down into toxic compounds, and offers safer alternatives like Stevia and monk fruit. Peripheral Neuropathy Explained: Learn the fascinating (and terrifying) mechanism by which excess sugar transforms into sorbitol, which builds up inside cells and can lead to nerve damage. This episode is a must-listen for anyone seeking to understand the science behind sugar's toxicity and how an integrative approach—focusing on critical nutrients like Magnesium and Vitamin C—can help you achieve the "Better Life."See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

How much magnesium should you include in your daily regimen? Magnesium is involved in over 300 biochemical reactions in the body, impacting everything from your energy levels to how well you sleep at night. But the question remains: how much do you really need to support your health during menopause? How much magnesium do you need? The daily recommended intake of magnesium varies, but generally, women aged 50 and above should aim for about 320 mg per day. However, needs can vary based on individual health conditions and dietary intake. To find out how much magnesium works for you, start with a lower dose and gradually increase it. Monitor how you feel—improvements in sleep, mood stabilization, and general well-being are indicators that your magnesium intake is on point. If you suspect you're low on magnesium, especially during menopause, it's a common concern. Talk to your healthcare provider about how much magnesium is right for you and explore the best ways to maintain adequate levels through diet or supplements. When was the last time your doctor suggested magnesium? Magnesium is necessary for 80% of known metabolic functions. A lot of doctors prescribe a diuretic for high blood pressure, which makes your body release magnesium causing a deficiency. In many cases, magnesium can stabilize blood pressure, because of its relaxation effect on the arteries. Magnesium deficiency can also lead to high cholesterol and type 2 diabetes. Join Dr. Hotze and his special guest, Dr. Carolyn Dean, a world-renowned physician and author of numerous books, including her latest book “Magnesium: The Missing Link to Total Health.” Dr. Dean is a double board-certified medical and naturopathic doctor who is often referred to as “The Doctor of the Future.” Watch now and subscribe to our podcasts at www.HotzePodcast.com. In 1796, Samuel Hahnemann developed a healing art based on two principles he explained as "like cures like" and "dilution increases potency." To produce remedies, he diluted substances connected to the condition to be cured. The dilutions were so extreme as to make the original ingredient virtually undetectable, leaving only an energy imprint." Modern medical science, which itself has a horrendous track record of causing injury and death (see Death by Medicine, a paper by Gary Null, Ph.D. and Carolyn Dean, M.D.), considers these principles unfounded and false. The problem with this dismissal of homeopathy by the conventional medical and academic authorities is, as homeopathic consultant and teacher Joette Calabrese (http://www.joettecalabrese.com) explains on her website, that vast numbers of people have benefited form homeopathic remedies for hundreds of years without the harm of so-called "side" effects that are an unavoidable part of a medical system that uses toxic synthetic chemicals as "medicine." Joette Calabrese has seen first-hand both the damage conventional medicine can cause, and the amazing cases where homeopathy has been able to repair that damage, as well as curing the condition the medical system had failed to help. Joette's training and extensive experience qualify her as a unique and insightful teacher. From her website: "Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH has practiced as a homeopathic consultant since 1997. She began her studies in classical homeopathy in 1986 and completed her five-year degree with the North American Homeopathic Master Clinician Course and the Dynamis School of Advanced Homeopathy in Toronto, Canada. She has studied with world-class homeopaths such as Lou Kline (Vancouver), Jeremy Sherr (London), Jan Scholten (Netherlands), Andre Saine (Montreal), Richard Moskowitz, M.D. (California) and Dr. A.U. Ramakrishnan (India)."

Today is a very special episode of the podcast. I'm joined by Morley Robbins, a brilliant man who I've followed for years and wields one of the best informed perspectives on nutrition and biochemistry in the world. He's a renowned expert in iron, magnesium, and especially, copper – how they interact in our bodies and how misunderstood they are in our society. This is copper like you've never seen it before. After you hear this one, you too, will be surprised at the relative anonymity of this truly amazing and multifunctional mineral. We also unpack the truth behind widespread anemia misdiagnosis, the challenge of understanding and deciphering the loud voices of health gurus from all across the spectrum, good sources of copper in food and supplements, and so much more. We spend the last hour studying my own blood work, uncovering a few numbers I can be proud of and a few others that require further research to understand. The journey of learning and expansion never ends; that's the fun of it all. 00:05:06 — Getting to Know Morley Robbins Praising the scientific contributions of Albert Szent-Györgyi Praising the scientific contributions of Dr. Leslie Klevay Praising the scientific contributions of James F Collins, Ph.D. Extreme Health Radio + Mitolife Radio EpiEnergetics: The Miraculous Healing Powers of Donny Epstein #138 Challenging childhood and medical inspirations Discovering the innate healer Root Cause Protocol Reconciling rigid health advice Cu-RE Your Fatigue by Morley Robbins Ray Peat on iron toxicity It all comes back to energy 00:23:05 — Energy, Intelligence & Copper Painting a different picture of copper Starting his journey with magnesium Carolyn Dean's Magnesium Miracle The role of oxidative stress in our body Celebrating ceruloplasmin The Golden Plow and iron farming equipment Recalling the work of Viktor Schauberger The iron fortification of our food (1941) Iron: The Most Toxic Metal by Jym Moon PhD Iron metabolism vs. sugar metabolism Metabolical by Robert Lustig Commenting on the work of Bruce Ames Iron in the blood vs. iron in the tissue Iron, COVID, and the jab Energy and intelligence Copper as the God particle 50,000 atoms of copper in each mitochondria 01:08:37 — Myth-Busting Anemia in America Three most important iron markers in blood work Recycling systems in our body Why and how anemia is misdiagnosed Course record for iron infusions Does anemia exist?
