Magnesium bisglycinate, fillers (microcrystalline cellulose, dicalcium phosphate), anti-caking agents (silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate), coating agents (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, glycerol). Worth taken or should I look for another one? Thanks for your help                              Audrey: Hi Dr. Cabral, Thank you for being my go to person for all of my health questions! What are your thoughts on taking creatine while pregnant? I am going to keep strength training throughout my pregnancy and am hoping this helps with maintaining some muscle. I've listened to your recent podcasts on COMT, but my question is regarding supplements to avoid if you have this variant. He doesn't take any medications, and already takes methylated B complex to support MTHFR and high homocysteine levels (8.3). He also takes Vit C, Zinc+Copper, Mag, Vit D+K2, Omega 3s, Probiotics. I wrote in when you said the que was closer to 2-3 weeks and I haven't heard my question yet so this is incase my question got lost- myself and a couple of people I've met recently get an elevated heart rate when drinking alcohol (even 1 drink). This has never happened to me before and I'm very well hydrating prior, what else besides histamines could this be? Second, I have a very scant amount of blood per rectum every couple of days since starting the CBO, have you heard of this happening? I'm thinking to d/c citricidal early, I didn't test prior to CBO and only have 3 days left of that to see if it's related. One of the largest deals to acquire a D2C brand took place in January this year. India's largest manufacturer of consumer good, Hindustan Unilever acquired the skincare company Minimalist, a 90% shareholding for nearly Rs 3000 crores.Homegrown startup beauty brands have been on a roll in India. Scores and scores of new age skincare brands have cropped up since the pandemic and all of them harp on the science of it. And their whole appeal is transparency. Transparency about the ingredients that go into each of their products.Among all of them, Minimalist is the one that really stands out. It is an active ingredients based skincare company that sells things like niacinamide, retinol, Vit C, glycolic acid, and salicylic acid. It launched around the end of 2020, and within a span of eight months, it built a 1000 crore rupee  business. A healthy body begins with a healthy immune system….  Having lived through a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic, most of us are familiar with the basics of self care to avoid getting sick.  Despite this gastro, Covid, the flu and all the other unwanted and pesky germs are always coming up with new ways to win.  This means that supporting our immune  system should be an ongoing priority if we want to experience life doing what we love. While most viral infections come and go after a week or so, some of us can experience ongoing symptoms for months after initial infection (Listen to episode #51 On Long Covid) leaving you feeling tired, foggy and run down – no thanks! To combat this, in todays episode we're looking at three ways to support your immune health. Boost your Gut Bacteria The healthier our gut (gastrointestinal tract) the healthier we are. Our immune defences  - all of our beneficial bacteria, live  in our gut, ready to fight off any ingested nasties that don't belong there. Put simply, a healthy gut  full of beneficial bacteria helps to build immune function, whilst a compromised microbiome can hinder your immune army's response against infection. Build up your reserves of immune-enhancing nutrients Your immune cells need the right nutrients!  Zinc, Vitamin C and an adequate level of Vitamin D (Over 100 on a blood test, or over 150 if you have an autoimmune or immune compromised) together with regular protein intake can make the difference between an immune army that barely makes it through bootcamp versus a squad that gets the job done. Nutritional deficiencies or inadequate dietary intake can  impair immune function, increasing both the risk and severity of an infection. Reset your mindset and be kind to yourself Growing up we were  taught to “soldier on” and as women, we often scoff at man-flu… BUT rest and recovery time is vital. Nourish your body with good fats (avocado, coconut oil, nuts, seeds, fish) and good protein (organic meat, chicken, fish, nuts, seeds, legumes, eggs). Soup for the soul – it's true, chicken, veggie or broths will heal. It's an easy way to include lots of nutrients. Get out in the sunshine for extra vitamin D, get outdoors on winter sunny days and enjoy eggs and oily fish. Vitamin D is essential in warding off sniffles and illnesses and plays an important role in immune health - critical for anyone with autoimmune to have optimal Vit D levels Fresh air – keep rooms well ventilated Keep your exercise routine going, even when it's chilly outside!  If you aren't feeling 100%, listen to your body and rest Avoid sugar (one of my top rules!) – sugar feeds those nasty bugs and depletes the white blood cells that are the basis for the immune system. Choose quality supplements with a therapeutic dose of Vit C and zinc to help reduce the duration of a cold Avoid mucus forming foods during a cold or virus - such as dairy, bananas & eggs (re-introduce these after, as they are all highly nutritious). Antibiotics will only help when the infection is bacterial. Most colds and coughs are viral and need TLC as mentioned above. Antibiotics can rob the gut of that good bacteria we need to keep healthy. Drink plenty of water, soup, hot lemon, ginger and honey, herbal teas, and hot cocoa to wash nasties away. Rest + reboot; enjoy a little couch time and make sure you get adequate sleep. Reducing stress can keep viruses away. Keep your hands clean! This is especially crucial when everyone else has the sniffles and sneezes: Wash hands often to keep those viruses and bacteria at bay. Quand tu restes suffisamment longtemps dans un milieu sportif, tu ne prêtes presque plus attention aux différentes blessures des uns et des autres, tellement ça devient normal, presque banal. Souffrant moi-même de douleurs chroniques depuis plus de 3 ans, je suis devenu bien plus sensible à ce sujet. Ce qui m'a mené à chercher des solutions. La première étape était de faire passer le message avec mon précédent solo podcast. I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks…   Megan: Hi, I've been wrestling with the way we eat now with how people have eaten for years. Why do we now survive on milked nuts and oats instead of regular milk? Why do we use powders and substitutions instead of homemade cheese and bread and butter? I just don't understand how for so many years that was a staple food and now all of a sudden we're all allergic and we're all avoiding it (including my 5 year old son whose allergic to diary) As a family we're reading little house on the prairie where they talk about having milk and cheese and butter and it seems like our eating now is so different and complicated … I guess that's a long winded question for why? Why is it so different now even if I get raw milk from a good farm my son gets sick or homemade sourdough bread.   Kristen: I drink Purity brand coffee per your recommendation. People always want to maximise their fun but refrain from undoing the good work they've done throughout the year, and in this episode, Angela tells you exactly how to do it. KEY TAKEAWAYS You will feel a lot better if you stick to a twelve-hour overnight fast, regardless of how much you eat during the day. High intensity exercise and resistance training have been shown to help activate a transport protein called Glute 4, which helps to move glucose into muscle tissue without producing insulin. If you do overindulge in alcohol then do take care if engaging in exercise. It severely limits your ability to burn calories and fat, because your liver prioritises the alcohol first. Have some electrolytes and watch the caffeine levels. Vitamin C is incredibly important, especially if you've been drinking alcohol, which causes a rapid consumption of Vit C in the body. It's not Back... COVID NEVER left! COVID strains continue to change, similiar to how we prepare for flu season, we know approximately 6 months prior what the strains may be and are predicted based on what is known in the moment. COVID is no different.  What we are sharing with our patients is to continue to carry that hand sanitizer, remove yourself from an area that a person is coughing. Just recently, a patient traveled to a meeting, their VP gave a seminar and shared while blowing their nose that they have a summer cold, never testing for COVID  and never taking precautions to protect those that were in the small conference room. Guess who all got COVID: yes yes those in the conference room.  So teachers, and business owners and personnel, if you think someone is ill ask to move to a different place in the room, if they won't take precautions.  Offer Over the Counter Covid tests, if you haven't ordered your free supply, order at COVID.gov/tests or call 1-800-232-0233   Illness has led to a shortage of employees, and we want our children to have the opportunity to learn so let's prepare them the best way we know how, which means eating breakfast, lunch and dinner. Remember some children do not have that opportunity. Our grandchildren bring an extra sandwich because at 9 they already see the differences some children do not have and they want to help. Ask the teacher what you can help with, while many teachers are unable to publicly ask for supplies through amazon, consider dropping off sanitizer, tissue and paper towels and ask what else they may need.   Let's encourage vitamins in your children, keeping their immune system up is the best way to learn and stay healthy.  We adults need to do the same.
