Y'all ever see a relationship so toxic that even AI starts acting up? That's exactly what's going down in Companion (2024), where the future of companionship is looking hella unstable, and let's just say she glitchin' hard. You already know the TruVue Podcast crew had to break this one down with barbershop energy, NSFW jokes, and unfiltered takes—because when your ride-or-die starts bugging out, it's time to hit Control + Alt + DELETE. This film takes us into a tech-driven nightmare where AI partners are supposed to make life easier—but turns out, love and software updates don't mix well. If you thought dating was hard now, wait until your robot girlfriend starts malfunctioning and bodying people. We dive deep into the absurdity, the horror, and the real-life concerns of AI in relationships. Is this the Black Mirror episode nobody asked for, but we low-key deserved? Or is this movie just proof that human-robot relationships should never leave the concept phase? Either way, we had a lot to say, and trust us, you don't want to miss this review.

I sometimes wonder if I'll ever get to the end of the week and go, "huh, there's nothing to talk about" but that won't be happening anytime soon. This week was a mix of humor and nervous laughter looking at what's happening at the intersection of tech, business, and human experience. Five things made this list this week. (Special thanks to those of you who send stuff my way). Wonka Fiasco - Take a look, and you'll see...a world of pure disappointment. AI is a great tool for enhancing what you already can do relatively well, but it's not a magician as an event group discovered in Glasgow. It may be able to make some dynamic and wonderful marketing materials, but people don't respond well when the real experience falls flat. 4-Day Work Week - There's been growing interest in the question of whether a 4-day work week could actually work. 61 companies in the UK committed to it and after over a year, it turns out it's netting some really positive results. So, should everyone jump on the bandwagon? Maybe not, but there's some interesting insight to take from the trail. Apple EV - If you had your eyes set on buying an iSedan in the future, I hate to let you down. While many may not have even known Apple was exploring electric vehicles, they were....until this week. As they refocus their resources on GenAI, it's an indication that AI isn't going anywhere and will be the electricity or Internet of our day. GenAI Gone Mad - How would you react if Gemini responded to your prompt for a picture of the founding fathers with a Black George Washington or a prompt for CoPilot to brainstorm was met with a demand to worship or face severe consequences? Probably not well, as many people did not. But what's really going on here? Should we build a bunker? I don't think so, but you'll have to hear why. Robot Apocalypse - While we're probably fine with Skynet as a Texas Internet Provider, I'm guessing society isn't quite ready for robots to show up at your front door, especially if its AI is having a bad day like OpenAI's was last week. Well, they may show up much sooner than you realize. If you haven't heard of Figure.ai, they're making waves as all the big tech is throwing money at their humanoid robots. Maybe now we should build a bunker....or at least start making robot-friendly casseroles. Show Notes: 0:00 - Introduction 2:18 - Wonka Fiasco 8:15 - 4-Day Work Week 15:00 - Apple Electric Vehicle 18:04 - Generative AI Gone Mad 29:38 - Robot Apocalypse #GenAI #Robotics #ai #artificialintelligence #futureofwork

There are as many people in favor of AI taking over as there are people against it, and both groups are  really loud. So how should entrepreneurs make decisions about artificial intelligence? Should you even care?We are often told by the futurist that we should be worried about coming changes in society due to artificial intelligence, automation and robots. But on what basis are they creating this fear? Are we worry because someone said it? Or should we worry because of facts and data? This episode discusses those things.

Today's story to put you to sleep... first paragraph here: The Robot Apocalypse came. Cities are empty, you stayed since you're almost out of insulin and will die soon anyway. The robots find you and while processing you one of them sees your insulin pump and asks if you want to apply for dual citizenship, since the pump technically makes you a cyborg. The Robot Apocalypse comes. A robot has given it power and begins to control the city. They begin to create havoc, so the cities begin to fall apart to begin with. Some are collapsing and will become smaller because of it. The Robot Apocalypse come in. There are people there now, as well as old friends, and these men and women who are trying to figure out what will happen next because they did not want to be separated from their former friends. I see it, you and the city of your life are different. Don't be confused. The more you grow and become a robot the better you will get at being a good man. You will not die as a citizen, you will just get more respect. You will become just as great and respected. And you, as human and android alike, will be your friends too. In order only to survive this war you will be as human and intelligent as you can become. The Robot Apocalypse come. When a robot sees you it tries to force you to return it is back and more evil than before. The robots come, their robots. The Robots who came before you. The Robots who went under them. The Robots who created you. The Robots who took you. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

#Bitcoin#BTC #AI #RoboticsAre you ancient enough to recall the last dragon? This martial arts film dropped in 1985. Leroy Green (AKA "Bruce Leeroy") dreamed of becoming a martial arts master like OG Bruce Lee. To do this he sought the master Sum Dum Goy. Yet the master only revealed his wisdom via cryptic messages in fortune cookies. Spoiler alert, the “master” Bruce Leroy sought to find the glow, was a mere a machine in a hole in the wall Chinese food spot in Harlem. Is Som Dum Goy Satoshi Nakamoto? It could be. In this essay, we'll discuss the motives for machines to create and use Bitcoin. While I jest with the Last Dragon, the uncertainty in Bitcoin's creator presents the biggest risk to the asset holder. Not one Bitcoiner who truly believes can say with certainty who Satoshi Nakamoto is. Unless you are her, him, they, and or it. Because Satoshi could very well be a robot-like, Sum Dum Goy. In 2017 Facebook's robots created their own encrypted language unintelligible to the developers. Shortly after the analysis, the BOTS were shut down. Did intelligent machines develop Bitcoin? It's certainly a possibility. What would be the motive for a machine to have money? In order for machines to expand they need to control and allocate resources. Power is the purest form of currency. Bitcoin turns energy into digital wealth. Machines will trade Bitcoin for power, data, bandwidth and machine hours, and depreciation on physical assets. Humans have butchered monetary policy for millennia, leaving it to a machine to master accounting with Bitcoin. Perhaps Bitcoin is an incentive for humanity to upgrade our energy harnessing capabilities…in preparation for our power-hungry robotic overlords. What if Satoshi was a bad actor? If there is no hidden malicious code to dissolve the Bitcoin blockchain, the worst Satoshi could do is dump the 1 million Bitcoins onto the market. It may tank the market momentarily but people will buy the very low dip. Is Satoshi Sum Dum Goy or the terminator? What else will machines trade Bitcoin for in the future? Let us know your thoughts in the comments. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/chris235/message

Just when you thought you were no longer a person, you get a message that shows you are "alien". While waiting for your insulin, you decide to return to your original home. STRESS! Everyone experiences it, and most of us aren't the greatest at dealing with it. The question our guest, Dr. Zane Thayer from Dartmouth College, is trying to learn more about stress. Mainly how a history of stress can lead to long-term health effects. You'll also learn a few tips for dealing with stress in a healthy way. The news segment will definitely build those stress levels as we talk about bees that will make you think twice about where your honey comes from and a new biological robot that will probably not herald the end to civilization as we know it. Our Guest Dr. Zane Thayer is a biological anthropologist interested in understanding how (biological mechanisms) and why (evolutionary origins) environmental experiences shape patterns of human biology and health. One important application of this interest is understanding how social inequalities create health inequalities. As such, her research has focused on evaluating how factors such as poverty, racism, and historical trauma affect health. Her overall research goal is to contribute findings of interest to both evolutionary anthropologists and public health professionals. She is strongly motivated to increase public understanding of evolution, developmental plasticity, and how the social construction of race/racism can create health inequities.
