In this episode of the HEAL with Kelly Podcast, I sit down with Himalayan Yoga Master Anand Mehrotra to explore the profound themes of love, spiritual growth, and what it means to be human. Born in Rishikesh, India, Anand is the youngest spiritual Master to present the Himalayan yogic tradition and has dedicated his life to sharing these ancient teachings. As a global teacher, he has spent over fifteen years guiding seekers toward self-realization and liberation through Sattva Yoga, offering a transformative path that transcends cultural boundaries. Together we discuss the idea of life as an ongoing journey of self-discovery, where the goal is to continually evolve in unity, love, and understanding. Anand shares his wisdom on embracing the present moment, recognizing that life is ever-changing, and the importance of finding safety and connection beyond the physical. He encourages us to cultivate inner richness through daily practices like breathwork, meditation, and prayer. We also delve into the dangers of the savior complex, emphasizing the importance of focusing on our own inner work and self-love. Together we highlight the power each of us has to live peacefully in a chaotic world, recognizing that while the world may always be in flux, we can choose to live a life rooted in love and free of conflict. This episode invites you to look within, embrace life's fluidity, and live with greater love, compassion, and awareness. Hippocrates once said - A physician without a knowledge of astrology has no right to call himself a physician. And many centuries later - super psychologist Carl Jung made this comment - We are born at a given moment, in a given place and, like vintage years of wine, we have the qualities of the year and of the season of which we are born. Jyotish is the traditional Hindu system of astrology, originating in ancient India - it's found to date back to around 10,000 BC. Based on The Vedas - the oldest sacred text of Hinduism -  it sees the stars and planets as having a powerful influence on our lives, and these planetary influences are considered the ‘fruit of karma', or past actions. In many mythological stories, Mercury is often referred to as The Messenger Of Gods, as it is the planet of expression and communication. So what happens when it's not in such a benefic (or beneficial) position? Well, you guessed it - there'll likely be difficulties with self expression, speech, and communication in general. Apart from communication, Mercury also governs the way we speak, and our intellect, so a ‘weak' Mercury can lead to difficulties in expressing oneself effectively.   My Guest Geoff Rupp has spent the last 10 years studying with Masters in India, gaining insight in Ancient practices from the East, with the desire to integrate these teachings into our lives back here in the West.  After 30+ years in the corporate sector in television, Geoff gazed within, seeing that there was more to life (and beyond that), so enrolled himself in the study of the cosmos by undertaking serious studies in Vedic astrology, Vedic Meditation, Sattva Yoga, Himalayan Breath-work, Kriya yoga, and other modalities all designed to enliven our potential, to be the best version of us we can be. www.geoffrupp.com Book Vedic Astrology Reading www.geoffrupp.com/jyotish

Rachel is an integral teacher and mentor within the Sattva Yoga community and joins us today from her quarantine in New Zealand... her 3rd quarantine to be exact! Having been in India for the early part of last year as the pandemic broke, Rachel found herself secluded, away from her family and in deep meditative silence in India's south. She underwent a self-initiated process of deep Sadhana. That meant little to no contact with the "outside world" as she delved into her practice of Yoga and Tantra. The year then weaved its way to America where she set down her bags just long enough to then go visit her children living in London, England. Finally, as Rachel returns to NZ, she is elated and also tested by the physical distance between her and her children. She shares a tale of the trail stitched together over this year, revealing a grand tapestry with many triumphs and challenges. When Rachel starts speaking with Max, you know it's a life of living Yoga that Rachel draws from to then relay in her insights shared. There is a reservoir of experience born out of self-practice and mastery that, once it meets us, is her wisdom. This makes her ability to communicate these life transforming teachings of Yoga with such naturalness. Rachel's ability to find words of her own that expound upon the yogic teachings, scriptures and mystical arts is something that has been refined and cultured in this year of isolations, both self-imposed and official! This conversation is a great exploration of uncharted territory, unrehearsed topics and best of all, laughter and bloopers that are left in the final edit for you to join in on the fun! Medicine is a word that we all understand. Music is a language we all connect to. Healing is a term that brings common definition to words of both Medicine and Music. As we recognise the inherent connection there in, we see that the commonalities of music and medicine are in fact the common traits in all principles of health, well being and yoga. This week we speak to Sattva Yoga teacher and Sound Healer Komal Batra, delving into how it is that we can awaken the medicinal value of sound and music. Komal explains that it is by attuning to the sacredness of sound that a portal is opened for us to access that space within ourselves, where the experience of wholeness, of healing, can arise. Tune in to hear Komal weave this conversation of sound into the yogic teachings and it's ancient wisdom that lives here and now! wwww.sattvasanctuary.com @kairoconsciousness @sattvawarriorsofwisdom

Vulnerable individuals are not just the sick and the elderly, but are those whose immune systems are compromised in any way. In light of pollution, overexposure to antibiotics in meat and meat products, overimmunization, growing reliance on pharmaceuticals and on illicit drugs, and due to many other factors, each and every one of us, regardless of age or current state of health, is vulnerable to the virus. Each and everyone of us could also be the carrier and spread the virus to someone even more vulnerable than we are. Therefore, it is important that all of us head warnings from public heath officials, and to the extent possible, limit our in-person interactions with other people. Let us view quarantines, school closures, and event cancellations as acts of deep compassion towards our fellow beings. Let each of us gracefully accept the responsibility for the well-being of every other being and for the humanity and the planet as a whole. While these times will challenge us beyond anything we have experienced before, they also present immense opportunities. These include: opportunities to appreciate the importance of in-person connections with fellow beings; opportunities to learn and expand; opportunities to move beyond our identities, which while defining us, can also confine and limit us; opportunities to consider how, despite walls and closed borders, deeply interconnected we are. Most importantly, we have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go deeply within us and to experience the fact that we are humanbeings and not humandoings; that we are so much more than accumulation of food that is our body and accumulation of ideas, judgments, prejudices, conditioning, and information that is our mind. Now is the time to ask life's most profound quesions and to sit with the uncertainty and the discomfort of not knowing the answers. Asking these questions can bring a profound transformation within us. And, we need a profound transformation if we are truly to face global challenges facing us which require a profoundly different, more inclusive, more collaborative, and more nuanced understanding of the very nature of life and of who we are.So, we can react to the current crisis with fear; with avoidance; or with aggression, or we can respond with strenth; with clarity; and with compassion. The choice we make will determine the future of this planet. The time is Now!To anyone who is interested in the tools for going inward, I would like to make them as available as possible. If you would like to learn: how to meditate; how to breathe through challenging times; how to use powerful yogic practices to strengthen your immune systems; and how to use the Dis-Solving Conflict from Within process to deal with conflict and fear, please message me to schedule free on-line sessions. And, if you simply feel lonely, sad or anxious, please message me as well. I would like to support you in all ways I can!The virus epidemic can become the most precious gift - connecting us with our vulnerability, humanity, and love! Let us not waste this precious gift or squander this time. Lokah Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu (may all the sentient beings be happy and free!).
