Hey Baby Bird here. What do we even talk about when the microphone isnt in our face? Well, here it is!
Tomorrow's Hits Today! Today's guest is Nashville singer/songwriter/producer Justin Wilson! Over the years, Justin has recorded songs by country stars like Morgan Wallen, Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Thomas Rhett, Riley Green, Granger Smith, Parmalee, Nate Smith, and many more! His first #1 song, “KISS YOU IN THE MORNING” was recorded by Michael Ray, quickly to be followed up by Randy Houser's “WE WENT”, Mitchel Tenpenny's “DRUNK ME” and Dustin Lynch's “MOMMA'S HOUSE”. We talk about the influence of rock sounds and rock lyrical influence in today's country music. Justin also shares with us the long-winding story of the track "Straight Outta Cold Beer" which ended up on Blake Shelton's album IF I'M HONEST. We play Justin's version with Justin on lead vocals for the first time! How do you take a dark lyric and shine it up, polish it off, and make it feel bright and celebratory? It's an art unto itself that Justin explains to us. Justin's latest project is the tv show "BANDED: THE MUSICIAN COMPETITION", with our very own Bob Chiappardi as EXECUTIVE PRODUCER, airing NOW Saturday nights on AXS TV! Here's the premise for the show: Imagine finding 25 musicians (5 singers, 5 guitarists, 5 drummers, 5 bass players, and 5 keyboard players), splitting them up into 5 different bands in their preferred genres (most of whom have never met or played together), sticking them with songwriters/mentors, record the songs in a major studio for the first time, and then perform the songs 2 weeks later in front of a live audience, celebrity judges, and in front of 10+ cameras for the first time! MIND-BLOWING how difficult this must have been for these artists! We can't wait to watch the show. We get to hear a demo of the song "SHOOT FROM THE HIP" from the band Justin mentored on the show, known as Gamblers In The Neon! Are you ready for some CONTROVERSY??? Danny brings us the new Dolly Parton ROCK track "World On Fire". Wait'll you hear the blowback from Danny's dis of the track on Tik Tok and the passionate discussion Danny, Ilan, Bob, and Justin get into around Dolly, the track, and the upcoming rock album!!! “When I quit heroin on my own for 60 days and started drinking a lot. That's when I learned the lesson of; energy cannot be created nor destroyed. And if you have an addiction or anything, and you get rid of it, that energy is gonna go somewhere. And if you don't place it somewhere positive, it is just gonna bring you down.”Episode #124 of The Hope Initiative with Alex Cherry. After hitting a few walls myself in recent weeks, this conversation with Alex came at the perfect time. A man who has lived through an enormous amount of hardships arguably brought on by his consumption of heroine, he is now living a life striving for greatness and helping others get there too. We talked addiction, 7 months in prison and 3 in rehab, plus how he is now building his life to help others, but not through people pleasing.A great conversation and I hope you all enjoy it!SHOW LINKSFollow Alex on TwitterThe books he referenced;Fearless - Eric BlehmThe Morning Miracle - Hal ElrodCan't Hurt Me & Never Finished by David GogginsEndure - Cameron HanesMusic by Jess FairlieMade by RUKKUS

It may be a Mixed Up World right now but leave that all behind and escape to the 2000s with your Right Back At Ya! boys in this celebration of Sophie Ellis-Bextor. This month marks 20 years of Dame Sophie's iconic debut solo album era "Read My Lips". Catapulting from the global smash of 'Groovejet' with Spiller, former indie-frontwoman Sophie transformed into a disco-pop darling with a string of iconique Top 3 hits: 'Murder On The Dancefloor', 'Take Me Home' and 'Get Over You'. It was the dawn of a fruitful career that still resonates to this day in her Kitchen Disco era. Together Joel and David transform into Fabulous Bextor Boys as they study her timeless style, her music videos and mesmerising output from the "Read My Lips" and "Shoot From The Hip" albums. Look out for Part 2, ladies and gents and non-binary friends, because we're not done tripping the light fantastic yet! When he was a boy, his artistic-minded parents would take him to the Dayton Art Institute, where he was dazzled by the paintings, sculptures and photos of world-class artists. Today, Matthew Helton, a fine art and photography student at Wright State University, has his work displayed in the same space as the artists he looked up to. Helton and two other Wright State students — Nanci Payne and Nancy Shuler — have their artwork displayed at the museum as part of the Yeck College Artist Fellowship. The show opened in May and runs through Aug. 19. “Matt Helton’s work, which is blurred photography so shooting from the hip, kind of the journey between two different places,” said Christine Flemming, a museum educator at the Dayton Art Institute. “There’s a big variety, but they’re all very interesting.” “Wright State University not only gave me the tools to make this artwork but also the confidence and the courage to apply for it and feel like I deserve to be here,” said Helton.
The crew is joined by Montoyis from the Shoot From The Hip podcast to talk about the H and M monkey shirt, Oprah's speech, Ginuwine vs transgender and more. 6016419474 Call and leave us a voicemail for the show.
