Robin Abeyesinhe, managing director of TCAT, a subsidiary of One Media iP Group PLC (AIM:OMIP), tells Proactive's Stephen Gunnion the company has extended the free trial period for its new TCAT Protect app to 14 days, followed by six months of free access to the Bronze plan. The TCAT Protect app helps users manage their content and identify potentially infringing material across digital service providers (DSPs) worldwide. As Abeyesinhe explained, "it's a tool for effectively managing your content and seeing where it is available online." The extension aims to attract a broader audience, including solo artists, bands, and indie labels, through a parallel social media and PR campaign. The Bronze plan, which follows the initial 14-day trial, allows users to upload up to ten tracks and provides substantial functionality without requiring credit card information. Abeyesinhe emphasised that this initiative helps demonstrate TCAT's value, encouraging users to eventually upgrade to the Silver and Gold plans. The discussion also highlighted TCAT's unique fingerprinting technology, which identifies where tracks are available and flags potentially infringing content. This information helps rights holders take necessary actions to protect their work. You can view a full demo of TCAT Protect by following this link: https://youtu.be/KHhZ03CsKtg Visit Proactive's YouTube channel for more videos. Robin Abeyesinhe, managing director of TCAT, a subsidiary of One Media IP Group, discusses the launch of the "TCAT Protect" app with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion. The app, launched last week, is designed to help music rights holders, such as musicians and bands, identify illegal exploitation of their music. Users can upload their tracks to the system, which then identifies potential illegal use by matching content with major streaming services like Spotify, Amazon, iTunes, Napster, and Deezer. Abeyesinhe highlighted the significant issue of illegal music exploitation, noting that the streaming and downloading market, valued at over $30 billion, could see up to a third of its content exploited illegally. TCAT Protect offers a seven-day free trial where users can upload their music, which TCAT then fingerprints and matches against available digital streaming platforms (DSPs). The system reports any matches, indicating where the content is available and providing a risk score based on metadata analysis. While TCAT cannot confirm infringements due to a lack of licensing agreement information, it guides users on verifying potential infringements and issuing takedown notices. Abeyesinhe emphasised the uniqueness of TCAT Protect, especially in its comprehensive packaging and global accessibility. The app is available through the TCAT website: www.tcat.media. #OneMediaIPGroup, #TCATProtect, #MusicRights, #MusicIndustry, #DigitalMusic, #MusicStreaming, #AntiPiracy, #MusicProtection, #MusicApp, #RobinAbeyesinhe, #ProactiveLondon, #MusicTechnology, #CopyrightInfringement, #MusicRightsManagement, #StreamingServices, #MusicBusiness, #IllegalExploitation, #MusicMetadata, #TakeDownNotices, #GlobalMusic #ProactiveInvestors #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews
One Media iP Group PLC CEO Michael Infante takes Proactive's Stephen Gunnion through the company's 2023 financial performance, describing it as robust and in line with expectations despite a challenging global context. Infante highlighted the resilience and profitability of the business, which has maintained a focus on recurring income from music rights. The company continues to pay dividends and has successfully navigated challenges that have impacted larger firms. Infante also detailed advancements in its technical copyright analysis tool (TCAT) subsidiary, developed to detect music piracy across major platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. The software, leveraging AI, aids in combating the increasingly complex issue of music piracy. Further, Infante introduced a new desktop application called TCAT Protect, designed to help artists and labels ensure their music tracks on streaming platforms are correctly reported and compensated. This tool is set for launch by the end of May and represents a significant step forward in music rights management. Operational highlights from the year include the acquisition of the licensor's income share of the Entertain Me catalog and the renewal of their distribution deal with The Orchard. Infante also noted the industry's structural trends, mentioning the resurgence of vinyl and its impact on their business strategy. #OneMediaiPGroupPLC, #MichaelInfante, #2023FinancialResults, #MusicRights, #DividendPaying, #ProfitableCompany, #MusicPiracy, #AIinMusic, #CatsProtect, #StreamingPlatforms, #DigitalMusic, #MusicIndustry, #TechInnovation, #RecordLabels, #MusicDistribution, #VinylResurgence, #EntertainMeCatalog, #TheOrchard, #CatsTechnology, #MusicTech #ProactiveInvestors #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews
We all know that keratoconus is very highly associated with eye rubbing. But in general, the widely held belief has been that keratoconus is just associated with eye rubbing, one of multiple factors that leads to the condition. But have we gotten it wrong? Is eye rubbing not merely associated with keratoconus, but actually the sole causative factor of keratoconus? Has there been a huge blind spot in our basic understanding of keratoconus development and progression? Dr. Damien Gatinel joins the podcast.
One Media iP Group PLC (AIM:OMIP) CEO Michael Infante speaks to Thomas Warner from Proactive after the digital music rights acquirer, publisher and distributor released a trading update for the six months to 31 October 2023. Infante starts with an overview of the firm's financial performance, highlighting a 5% increase in gross revenues and a significant 10% rise in net revenues. This growth reflects the company's successful margin extraction from its core business, aligning with directors' expectations. Infante also highlights strategic acquisitions, particularly smaller deals, that continue to fuel the company's progress. A key focus of the discussion was One Media's anti-piracy platform, TCAT. Infante clarified that TCAT will eventually operate separately from One Media and says that the reverse engineering of AI within TCAT is yielding up certain competitive advantages. Infante also touched on TCAT's financial performance, noting a £180,000 turnover in the first half of the year, with expectations to double by year-end. He emphasises the importance of profit over turnover, quoting "profit is sanity, turnover vanity," and expressing enthusiasm for 2024. Regarding challenges, Infante acknowledged the need for improved communication and regular updates to the market. He also discussed the strategic need to spin off TCAT when the right time comes. Concluding the interview, Infante expressed confidence in the upcoming year and extended season's greetings, emphasising One Media iP Group's continued commitment to growth and innovation in the music industry. #OneMediaiP #MichaelInfante #ProactivInterview #MusicIndustry #TechBusiness #TCatTechnology #RevenueGrowth #BusinessStrategy #MusicTech #CopyrightInfringement #AIInMusic #RecordLabels #FinancialPerformance #MusicInvestments #MusicIndustryNews #CorporateUpdates #BusinessLeadership #IndustryInsights #FutureOfMusic #CorporateInterviews #ProactiveInvestors #InsertCompanyName #InsertStockMarket LEAVE THESE IN AS STANDARD & ADD ANY YOU FEEL ARE RELEVENT #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

One Media has bought up the producer royalties of award-winning producer and legendary 80's studio sound-maker Steve Levine, including tracks by Culture Club, Louise, 911 and the Honeyz. One Media IP Group PLC (LON:OMIP) CEO and founder Michael Infante tells Proactive London what the logic was behind the acquired interest and how he sees the music publishing business moving forward, particularly in the absence of physical manufacturing. The digital music rights acquirer, publisher and distributor has an interest in the producer royalties of more than 100 songs produced by Levine and previously invested in back catalogue works by Take That and Kid Creole & The Coconuts. The acquisition was completed under One Media's Harmony iP asset release scheme, which includes the anti-piracy TCAT software system, nick-named 'to catch a thief' by Infante.

Here’s the Ithaca Minute from 14850 Today for September 10th. Daily flights between the Ithaca Tompkins International Airport and Philadelphia International Airport ended this week, according to an announcement from airport officials. American Airlines is eliminating the regional flights, which have operated for decades, and adding a single daily flight to and from Charlotte to replace the previous weekly flight. The service change eliminates the last air service to the northeast region from Ithaca, which also once had daily flights to Newark, New York’s LaGuardia, Pittsburgh, and Boston. United switched its Ithaca to Newark service to Washington Dulles International Airport in 2018, and increased service last year, before dropping the service this year, temporarily, due to the Coronavirus pandemic. “There’s an opportunity to go back to three flights daily at Charlotte, Detroit, and Dulles,” airport director Mike Hall tells us. The Tompkins County Health Department and SPCA of Tompkins County are teaming up to offer a free rabies vaccination clinic on Saturday, September 19, at the TCAT bus garage at 737 Willow Avenue. If your pet is due for a rabies vaccination, or if you’re not sure, this is a good opportunity to get up to date at no cost. [...]
