Last episode, authors Thomas A. Fowler and Melissa Koons went through their choices for their lower half of Marvel's Phase Three, which kicked off with Captain America: Civil War and thought would end with Avengers: Endgame, but a recent interview with Kevin Feige revealed Spider-man: Far From Home will now be considered the end of Phase Three, not the start of Phase Four. From Infinity War to Ant Man and the Wasp, Thor: Ragnarok to Black Panther, join them as they go through their top five movies from Phase Three (not including Endgame!).

One of Netflix's gems among its original content, authors Melissa Koons and Thomas A. Fowler dive into the Santa Clarita Diet. The odd, dark, zombie comedy series starring Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant is one of their current favorites. From being a weird example of what you should look for in a relationship to being a great example of what it takes to plant seeds, utilize supporting characters, and give meaningful arcs audiences can get behind, even if they're doing some decidedly dicey life choices.Listen to also hear our Geekstarter, one we're a bit skeptical about talking about too publicly so check out the episode to hear what it is!As always, see our latest content at GeekyGab.com or follow us on social @GeekyGabPodcast.
With the release of Glass, authors Melissa Koons and Thomas A. Fowler dive into the filmography of M. Night Shyamalan. From his odd two credits beforehand that included Rosie O'Donnell playing a nun and somehow baseball, to his meteoric rise with The Sixth Sense. We talk about the twists that worked, the ones we saw coming, and the ones that fell flat, which are not all movies of his that are mutually exclusive. With his Shyamallaissance in full swing with Split, we also trudge through some dark times while people had to run from breezes incited by plants, a beloved cartoon becomes a depressing interpretation everyone wants to forget, and Will Smith is inexplicably drained of his charisma for the first time. We also get into one of his movies that was panned but both Koons and Fowler think you should revisit.Have a listen and keep visiting GeekyGab.com to see our latest and greatest.
It's Academy Awards season, and hosts Thomas A. Fowler and Melissa Koons break down the nominations for this year. Who are our favorites? Who do we want to win compared to who we think will win. On several occasions we discuss the need to recognize genre more as well as stop promoting horrible people doing horrible things. And those horrible things also include how the Academy has handled the show this year from trying to shove Black Panther into the ill-advised "Popular Film" category and relegating certain categories to commercial breaks because they aren't sitting with the "cool kids."Have a listen and find us on social media @geekygabpodcast and at GeekyGab.com.

Part two of our Alien and Predator franchise discussion as Shane Black's "The Predator" is about to hit theaters. Why method acting and living in the jungle may be a bit too extreme. Authors Thomas A. Fowler and Melissa Koons bring up the split nature of 'Aliens vs. Predator" and the schlock-filled mess known as "Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem" where all the rules and canon of the franchises are forgotten for the sake of narrative convenience.
