It's our own Bill Heywatt offering his master class…on running master classes. CLIPS Fandom! The PodcastI had pretty much pulled all the clips together for this episode and was getting ready to record when I happened to have a text exchange with a couple of old friends of mine from my sketch comedy days in North Hollywood with a group called Fries On The Side. Kenny Stevenson and Dorien Davies have been special guests on Succotash WAY back in Episode 20(!) Anyway, we were texting about something or another and Kenny mentioned that he and another old chum, Alex Enriquez, had just started a new soundcast. Kenny used to co-host a sports soundcast called Knuckle Sanwich – great title – but that had been down for a while. So he and Alex have started a new show – right up my alley as they cover a lot of super-nerdy pop culture territory – and I just got this clip in under the wire for this episode. Their show is called Fandom! The Podcast, from the Fan Controlled Network, and their most recent episode talks a lot about the new Willow streaming show on Disney+. Jordan Klepper Fingers the ConspiracyOne of the best forces for pseudo-journalism goodness has got to be Jordan Klepper, who's been a fixture on Comedy Central's The Daily Show for years. He's got a six-episode limited-run soundcast under the Comedy Central banner called Jordan Klepper Fingers The Conspiracy, where he digs deep into some of the wildest MAGA theories he's heard and, according to the show's description, “traces their origins with journalists, experts, and anyone who might have a lead on when JFK Jr. is coming back. The soundcast offers an opportunity to better understand some of the most extravagant stories Americans tell themselves.” In Epi5 of the series, Jordan wades deep into the history and mystery that is “Hunter Biden's Laptop.” We have a sample… Hey Riddle RiddleI'll be the first to admit this, but some soundcasts get past me. Maybe I'm not paying attention or maybe it's because there are a couple hundred THOUSAND of them out there now. But I'm really ashamed to ‘fess up to missing Hey Riddle Riddle, mainly because it's hosted by a trio of improv and sketch performers and those are MY people. Adal Rifai, Erin Keif, and John Patrick Coan are Chicago-based and they've been doing Hey Riddle Riddle for at least 4 years now. Out of the Headgum Studios, their homesite only has shows through their 4th anniversary show, which dropped this past August 27th. But there are still fresh installments coming out, available on Apple Podcasts, etc. What is Hey Riddle Riddle, for those of you who are like me and in the dark? Their show's description on Apple Podcasts reads, “Riddles! Puzzles! WhoDunnits! Adal Rifai, Erin Keif and John Patrick Coan, three of Chicago's most overrated improvisers, are on the case to solve every riddle, puzzle, brainteaser, and head-scratcher known to humanity. Some riddles are almost impossible, some are absolutely improbable, and some simply have not aged well. And if you don't like riddles, don't worry! This podcast is barely about them!” I bring you a pull from their 4th season finale episode where they get into guessing movie title mashups. The Salty Language PodcastIf you've been a listener to this soundcast for any appreciable length of time, you know that both Tyson and I do have our favorites out there in Soundcastland. So we occasionally show them a bit more love than some of the other shows we feature. Tyson just played a bit last episode from our chum Davian Dent from England. I often talk with Jabs AKA Jason McNamara in Australia. And other folks like Hunter Block from Anti Social Show, Ethan Dettenmeier of Combat Radio, Ed Wallick from the hiatus'ed Don't Quit Your Daycast, and Travis Clark from, originally, Tiny Odd Conversations. A few shows retweet OUR tweets religiously – like The Jock Doc Podcast and I Shake My Head with Lisa and Sam. So I want to do them a solid and recognize their place in our Soundcast Society, too, which is why we're featuring a clip from a recent installment of The Salty Language Podcast. Hosted by Tony and Bryan, this show has been around probably as long as Succotash. Sluggin' out the episodes one after the other. The show's simple description on their homesite reads, “A soundcast about pop culture, living life, and anything else in our tiny brains.” This clip is about one of the guys having made it to his first in-person medical checkup since COVID started. Man ThinkersIt's hard to tell if the attitude of the hardcore male chauvinist is on the run or just biding its time. I'd like to think that kind of backwards attitude that men have towards women is being eclipsed by something more forward-thinking. Whatever the case, it's a way of thinking that soundcasters are having fun ripping on in a variety of ways. One of those is an iHeart Radio production, a show called Man Thinkers, featuring George Collins and Dan Finklestein. Here is how the show is described over on Apple Podcasts: “Man Thinkers is a podcast where the facts...are up for debate. For decades, the lamestream media has prevented real men from sharing their knowledge. On Man Thinkers, there are no degrees and no rules. The hosts aren't impressed by run-of-the-mill ‘experts.' Man Thinkers is a new space populated by iconoclastic thinkers, academic renegades, and media personalities that sound unlike anything else. Cable news is for the old and social media has become too toxic to trust. George and Dan courageously have the tough conversations that mainstream media won't touch. Man Thinkers is a safe space from safe spaces, nothing is off limits.” In a recent episode that dropped back on November 24th of this year, George and Dan had two women on the show: Liz Plank and Monica Padman. Lis is a Canadian journalist, author, and soundcast host. Monica is an actor, podcast producer and co-host – you've heard her on here before when we've clipped Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard. The Man Thinkers had them on to talk about women freezing their eggs. Here's how part of the conversation went… That's it for the clips this week. Yes, believe it or now, and for the last time – really, this time, it’s me. Marc Hershon. Departing host but still remaining executive producer of Succotash, the Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. First of all, I lied to you last episode when I said THAT was the final episode. Because after I dropped that installment I heard from a number of our friends-of-the-show, mainly soundcasters who have been so supportive and helpful over the seven years that the show has been on that I felt I truly hadn’t thanked enough people when last I signed off.  Also, between Epi162 and now, we’ve found a way to keep Succotash going! In classic show business fashion, I’m just going to tease you with that for now and it will NOT be revealed in this blog post!  You'll just have to listen to the episode to find out, as I do have a lengthy chat with my replacement toward the very end of the episode.  The initial impetus to do an UNFINAL episode was that our resident political comedian and social commentator Will Durst had sent me a last Burst O’ Durst installment which arrived after we’d dropped Epi162. And then I discovered we also had a last Boozin’ with Bill segment with our announcer Bill Heywatt that had somehow slipped through the cracks.  Based on those things, I figured I would do one last round of soundcast clips just featuring shows from some of our most vocal supporters on social media. THE CLIPS Chillpak Hollywood HourFirst out of the barrel are a couple of gents I have referred to often as being members of “podcast royalty” and that is Dean Haglund and Phil Leirness of the Chillpak Hollywood Hour. Early on these guys were very supportive of the show and generous with their time and, over the years, we’ve become good friends. Their show is now in it’s 11th year and these guys not only have careers on their own from each other but they’ve made movies together as well, including a great dark comedy thriller called The Lady Killers. It will be screening in about a week in San Jose, California. One night only, on February 21st, at Club 3B. Strange TimesSuccotash has, on occasion, been a kind of conduit thorugh which people from one show have found out about and, eventually, connected with other shows. A case in point was Jabs, heard this show, making contact with Davian Dent in England who, at the time, had a very unique show called The Bitter Sound. Davian and Jabs put their heads together – a half a world apart from each other, mind you, and created a soundcast mini-series call The Kundalini Files, a kind of detective spoof. They also pulled in some other soundcasters on that one – other fine folks we have featured over the years here on the show. Here's a snippet from a recent episode of Davian’s other long-running show, Strange Times, featuring Davian, Samantha Pett and Kat Sorens. All three have been very friendly to our show and one of these days I’ve got to somehow meet these people and down some brews with them until we all pass out. Story WorthyAnother ardent supporter of this show has been a woman with a terrific show of her own, and that’s Christine Blackburn, co-host of the Story Worthy Podcast, along with Hannis Phinney. I’ve run into her almost every year at the Los Angeles Podcast Festival and she’s always been a great promoter and cheerleader. Some years she’s even dragged various comedians and soundcasters into the Podfest’s Podcast Lab and insisted that they sit down and do an interview with me. Story Worthy is a great storytelling show, with some great guests, and recently they had on comedian Johnno Wilson, who related a harrowing tale. Film ThreatAnother good friend to this show and who I have ended up hanging out with whenever I run into him out in the world is Chris Gore. When Succotash first started he was running PodCRASH, where his gimmick was to appear on other soundcasters shows, then play THOSE episodes as his own. In a way it was the ultimate cross-promotion. Once upon a time he had been the editor and publisher of Film Threat magazine, a great “alt” movie magazine and Chris has returned to that property, only now in website and soundcast form. Here’s a clip from his recent “Time’s Up At Sundance” epi from January with guests Natalia Winkleman and Jon Bernstein… Casa MirthThe Casa Mirth soundcast features the team-up of Dr. Norman Trousers and River Gambezi. Norman’s been a presence around here pretty much since we began Succotash and he’s part of the infamous Podcast Mafia that got started years ago with myself somehow ending up as the titular Podfather. (Although I believe that moniker was started by Eric Furniss of The FOONcast.) Trousers and Gambezi run a very sporadically-appearing show and, for the past four holiday seasons, they have produced these wild mashup Christmas productions. They’re scripted and then the boys draft fellow soundcasters from all over the world to voice the parts. I’m honored to have been included in these crazy shows and this past December Casa Mirth featured their own take on It’s A Wonderful Life, the Jimmy Stewart classic. I was asked to be the Narrator, which I pulled off rather nicely, I think. Illusionoid We head up to Toronto to hear from the cast of Illusionoid. Love these guys, who I got to interview fairly early into when we started. Paul Bates, Lee Smart, and Nug Nahrgang – the best name in soundcasting – were in San Francisco for the annual Improv Festival here and we got a chance to hang out. And being a longtime improvisor, I really took to their style of an improvised sci-fi anthonolgy series, based around the gimmick of mankind’s creation bent on the destruction of humans. We feature a glimpse at a transmission from the last episode of their 9th season last November. Ear GogglesJeremy, Aaron, and Stacy don’t soundcast all that often but they still drop an episode every now and then. I used to run into Jeremy and Stacy at the LA Podfest for the first few years but they stopped coming down from Seattle. We're featuring a ready-made clip I found on their homesite – one of their “bonus clips” from a show last year where Stacy plays with some toys, as she puts it. (If you go to their site, you can browse through their archives all the way back to 2005, which is when they started out as The Sibling Rivalry podcast.) Comedy Film NerdsA couple of other longtime soundcasters who have been very nice to me are Chris Mancini and Graham Elwood, the hosts of the Comedy Film Nerds soundcast. They are also two of the organizers of the Los Angeles Podcast Festival and have never been anything but welcoming, accommodating, and kind to me. It probably helped that I contributed to the Kickstarter campaign that paid for the first LA Podfest but, since then, they have invited me to moderate panels and be a guest on other panels. Here’s a clip from their episode 403 from last month, with guest Jon Reep. Quick QuestionI wanted to be sure to toss in a soundcast farewell to Travis Clark and Jonathan Sadowski, hosts of the Quick Question soundcast. When I first mentioned I was going to step away from Succotash, Travis messaged me to ask if it was his turn to “talk me off the ledge”, as he put it. That’s because a few years ago, he and his wife Brandi were considering hanging up Tiny Odd Conversations, the show they did together and I convinced them to hang in there as they had only hit their Epi50. And they did, for quite awhile. Eventually, Brandi got herself a new job that kept her crazy-busy and TOCpod eventually drained away.  But then the Clarks got a new neighbor, Jonathan, and Travis discovered they had a lot in common. Mostly talking, judging from the amount of palavering that goes on during episodes of Quick Question. I had them on a few months ago from a chat we had at the LA Podfest. The Anti Social ShowFor our last clip of this Unfinal Succotash episode, we turn to a couple of the most ardent supporters of the show who started their own soundcast last year. Our very own Tyson Saner teamed up with one of our most supportive listeners, Hunter Block, and created The Anti Social Show. For the first 10 episodes, they were only on SoundCloud but now they’re on iTunes and other fine distribution points around the interwebs. This clip, harvested by Tyson himself, is from their Epi41, one of the first installments of 2018, entitled “Obscured By Sound”. And that is going to do it for Succotash under my command. We’ll be announcing when the first new episode of of the show is dropping, as soon as we figure out what we need to do to put all of the controls into the new host's hands. Usually we'd either be presenting a Succotash Clips or a Succotash Chats installment and, while I guess this is more Chats than Clips, it's a lot more informal than usual. That's because I recorded it from Studio F (my Fiat 500C) as I was trundling down Interstate 5 from San Francisco to Los Angeles to this year's Los Angeles Podcast Festival. The quality is about as good as you might expect, considering I'm in a tiny convertible car speaking into a digital recorder. But, as our friend in soundcasting Phil Leirness from Chillpak Hollywood Hour says, how much are you paying for this? We're featuring an interview I did with a writer and entrepreneur, RIck Karlsruher, who self-published a very funny novel, Standoff: How the Cold War Really Ended. We talk about the book, his attempts turn it into a movie, and some other adventures as well. CLIPS My Dad Wrote A PornoThe first clip out of the barrel is from a soundcast I just reviewed for Splitsider and that’s My Dad Wrote A Porno. I had the cast — Jamie Morton, James Cooper, and Alice Levine — on Succotash Chats Epi141 and now they are just concluding reading Rocky Flintstone’s FOURTH book in his Belinda Blinked series. It’s a consistently funny formula and a truly horrible series of pornographic novels.  Off BookOff Book is a soundcast that is helping to stretch the borders of what a show can do. There are a lot of improvised shows out there but this one, hosted by Jessica McKenna and Zach Reino, presents a full-blown improvised musical. This clip, provided by Tyson, is from their debut episode “Shrugging Destiny” and features the hardest working guest in soundcasting, Paul F. Tompkins. (Speaking frankly, I’m not a big fan of being in an improv group that improvises music because it’s usually pretty bad. Paul F, early in this episode, even remarks that he’s not that great at it. But these guys obviously know what they’re doing, so it’s a different ballgame. Check out my review of this episode from last July on Splitsider.) Quick QuestionOur esteemed Associate Producer Tyson Saner harvested a clip from a new show by an old friend. Travis Clark, late of the Tiny Odd Conversations soundcast, has joined forces with Jonathan Sadowski, an actor you may be familiar with if you have watched Young & Hungry on TV. Their new soundcast is called Quick Question and every episode starts with, as you may have guessed, a question. They then do their best to try and answer said query. The All Seeing GuysThis clip comes directly from the source. Greg and Joe, the fellows at The All Seeing Guys soundcast across the pond in England, used our direct upload link (http://hightail.com/u/Succotash) to get us this chunk from one of their recent episodes. In their cover note they say, “We had a clip played by you a couple of years back so thought we'd possibly throw a newer clip your way.” Just a couple of chaps, sitting around and yakking it up? Soundcasting at it’s purest — good enough for me! We're No DoctorsAnother pretty new-to-you soundcast is We’re No Doctors, co-hosted by Steve Agee and Busy Phillips. They’re not just both comedians and actors, but they’re also self-admitted neurotic hypochondriacs who decided they should do a show about health and medicine.  In this clip from recent Epi4, they talk with guest Nicole Sullivan, another comedian/actor who recounts her brush with death caused by the dread swine flu. (Did you guys catch Steve Agee in Guardians of the Galaxy, Volume 2? He plays Gef, one of the Ravagers. He’s the guys with the huge thick glasses. Not a lot of lines but a whole lot of funny…) That's it for now. David is a former standup comedian who I’ve known since he first got on stage in the San Francisco area. He took off years ago, heading for LA and then New York, where he’s been a writer on a bunch of TV shows. He’s been a guest on Succotash before – back in Epi108 – and I tickled that he asked me to be on his show just a couple of weeks ago. Chillpak Hollywood HourNormally for our friends in soundcasting, Dean Haglund and Phil Leirness, of Chillpak Hollywood Hour fame, I reserve playing clips unless they’re mentioning me because I’m just that self-absorbed. And they were not alone but, instead, sat down with Bruce Harwood and Tom Braidwood, the two actors who had co-starred with Dean as the trio known as The Lone Gunmen, first on The X-Files TV show and then for a season in their spin-off, The Lone Gunmen.   HarmontownOne of Tyson Saner’s picks for this episode is from a soundcast that we’ve featured before but it’s always a delight to drop in and see what latest bits of outrageousness are going on over in Dan Harmon's Harmontown. In this case, the clip we have is from back in March, when Harmontown had been annexed to Austin, Texas, as part of South By Southwest. Harmon was on hand along with Jeff Davis and Spencer Crittendon. Nerd PokerAt the end of April this year, a version of the defunct Nerd Poker with Brian Posehn & Friends soundcast snuck back into Soundcastland. Now called Brian Posehn’s Nerd Poker, it’s not network affiliated any more and so rather than being recorded in the Earwolf Studios, the action happens in Brian Posehn’s home in LA. The DM is Dan Telfer and, in addition to Brian, the players include Brian, Blaine Capatch, and Ken Daly, all of whom were in the original crew. We feature a slice from a recent episode where the characters are fighting something that might just be a werewolf. Crazy TownIt may be called Crazy Town, but the host, Jonaas, takes pains on the homesite to make sure no one’s offended by things that happen on the show – here’s part of his disclaimer: “Let me be serious with everyone for a second. This podcast is all about having fun and being goofy and poking fun at things. Nothing should be taken super serious, and the hosts and anyone else involved in this podcast are great people who have no prejudices of any sort, in any way, shape or form. The Jackie & Laurie ShowWe get a glimpse into the glamorous show biz lives of Jackie Kashian and Laurie Kilmartin. Jackie has had her Soundcast, The Dork Forest, for years now, but she and Laurie teamed up last year to put out The Jackie & Laurie Show, which is usually the two hosts talking about performing in comedy as woman, the state of comedy today, and reminiscing about various hell gigs over the years. But Laurie was a recent guest on Conan and so, in an episode entitled Show Yourself Out, she and Jackie headed backstage just before that appearance to do their show from there. (Producer's Note: Our host f'd up royally in this episode and called the show "Show Yourself Out". The dork has even reviewed Jackie and Laurie's soundcast before so I…er…he should have known better…) Nerds With WordsTyson snipped us off a hunk of a soundcast called Nerds with Words, featuring Adam Nutter and Greg Trout. It’s not to be mistaken with, or for, Nerdz with Wordz where the esses in "nerds" and "words" are spelled with a z. Totally different soundcast. Our clip is from a recent show featuring guest Joe Messina,a comedian and soundcaster who just shut down his show Breaking Up with Joe, where he recounted the details of a painful breakup he had gone through. He has a stage show called Party Lines and we pick up here mid-discussion about that show.  PTOUnlimitedAnother “new to us” soundcast is PTO Unlimited, hosted by Brett, Josh, and Alyx. The PTO part – I think – comes from “paid time off” and the Unlimited part is from the fact they will talk about unlimited topics. Their SoundCloud page says there are from “Fort Wayne, United States.” I’m guessing that’s in Indiana, too.  Anyway, Tyson flipped us this clip, where the hosts kick around the movie Ghost Ship from 2002. The Studio 60 SessionsAn old friend of Succotash is Travis Clark. He and his wife, Brandi, had their soundcast, Tiny Odd Conversations, up and running for quite some time. I think TOC is offcially in the Soundcast Graveyard now, as their last episode was posted in March of last year, but Travis popped up this last week as the first guest on a new soundcast called The Studio 60 Sessions. Another fine example of niche programming, this show is devoted to a TV show called Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, which was on NBC over a decade ago. (You can find the series on Amazon and other online places. It seems Travis had been a fan of the show and he joins Studio 60 Sessions host Dave Amiott to chat about the pilot episode of the TV show. Clips Worst Collection EverFor our first clip, I’m going to turn the hands of time back about a month, to the 4th Los Angeles Podcast Festival. That’s when I got to be a guest on a podcast called The Worst Collection Ever, co-hosted by friends-of-Succotash Shawn Marek and his wife, Jen Stansfield-Marek. They have a perverse pride in their absolutely dreadful, terible, wonderful comic book collection. Books that no one seems to care about. It’s more an Island of Misfit Comics. This visit with them was a year in the making because last year at the Podfest I had told Shawn that my favorite terrible comic character is DC’s The Creeper. So he and Jen combed through their collection and dredged up an issue of the Brave and the Bold featuring The Batman teaming up with The Creeper to stop a mysterious villain made out of paper. Radio BrendoMan Speaking of the LA Podfest, our next clip was harvested by our associate producer Tyson Saner, who could not have known that when Brendan Creecy and Phil Vecchio of the Radio BrendoMan podcast were recording the episode this clip is from, that I was sitting just an arm’s length away in the SquareSpace Podcast Lab. I ever remember them doing this segment. But they never asked me to be on their podcast. Hmm… Think AgainThis past week, for Huffington Post and Splitsider.com, I reviewed the Think Again podcast with host Jason Gots and his guest, the great Norman Lear, producer of such TV touchstones as All In The Family, Good Times and Sanford & Son. It’s a cool premise for a podcast. Jason has his producer select and play three short audio clips from different topics that are taken from past guest on the Big Think website’s videocast. He doesn’t know which ones are coming up and neither does his guest. After each sound bite, they respond to the topic at hand. In the slice I’m about to play for you, Lear and Gots kick around Donald Trump and human cruelty. It starts out with the audio chunk that they’ll then respond to… PipedreamTyson tracked down and clipped us a hunk of the Pipedream podcast, which is part of the ComedyPipe Network. That’s kind of all we’ve been able to find out about the show. Pipedream is apparently hosted by a trio of Albany, New York, comedians but it’s not easy to discover their names by ANY of the web presence we found. Tyson THINKS one is named “3D”. Beyond that, though, these guys need to get their PR together. Because it’s a pretty decent show and we should be able to know who the hosts are, right? In this clip, they talk to their guest — who IS identified — Harry White, a standup from New York and a Succotash fan. In fact, the only reason we found out about the show is that Harry clued us in that he was going to be on it. Hey, Harry! Who the hell are the guys you’re talking to? The VICE PodcastAccording to their entry over on PodBay, which is a great app for listening to your favorite podcasts, by the way, the VICE Podcast is a weekly discussion which delves inside the minds of some of the most interesting, creative, and bizarre people within the VICE universe. From the clip Tyson picks up for us, VICE’s host Reihan Salam gets comedian and musical genius Reggie Watts to reveal his agenda of world domination. The Terrific Trio from Toronto — Paul Bates, Lee Smart, and Nug Nahrgang — still the best name in podcasting — runs a fantastic improvised sci-fi themed show that is consistently funny. I just reviewed the episode this particular clip is from for Splitsider.com and Huffington Post. The episode is called “Day Million”, and features three owners of a copy store that has somehow existed for over 2000 years…and their lone customer on this fateful day. ManBuyCowRufus & HowardWe normally don’t play promos for podcasts on Succotash because, well, I think clips make better promos than…promos. BUT I have been waiting patiently enough for the return of the ManBuyCow Podcast with Rufus and Howard. Season 3 is imminent and there’s finally word that it’s almost here. Tiny Odd ConversationsTravis Clark and Brandy ClarkWe haven’t played anything from Tiny Odd Conversations for a bit, which means we completely missed out on celebrating their Episode 200. Found out they’re into their second season, after taking a break for the summer. Podcast Graveyard There are thousand upon thousand of podcasts out on the podwaves. Many of them in the past have had trouble sustaining themselves over the long haul. And many that are currently being produced now will eventually be gone. But we’d hate for any podcast to be forgotten, which is why we have open the Podcast Graveyard. This episode, our associate producer Tyson Saner has exhumed Making It With Riki Lindhome, a podcast that seems to have ended without fanfare in December of 2013. Riki is getting a lot of heat as one half of the Garfunkel and Oates comedy team, so maybe that’s what pulled her away from her show on the podwaves. Her last entry was Epi74 and her guest was Mike Farah, the president of production at Funny or Die.   Clips Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal PodcastWe hadn’t visited Gilbert Gottfried and his Amazing Colossal Podcast since it first dropped almost a year ago. But I got a note a couple of weeks ago from friend-of-the-show Shawn Marek over at the Sideshow Network, where Amazing Colossal lives. Shawn’s a big hotshot producer over there and he wanted to let me know that TV wildman and loose cannon Dan Harmon, the creator of Community as well as Adult Swim’s Rick & Morty (as well as host of his own Harmontown podcast) was on Gilbert’s show. Now you get to hear a snippet from that show, courtesy of Mr. Marek, when Dan explains the whole magilla that happened between himself and Chevy Chase. The Joe Rogan ExperienceWe’ve featured The Joe Rogan Experience a few times over the almost three years our show’s been around but not for a while. In this snippet, Joe Rogan's guest Bert Kreischer, a comedian and podcaster in his own right, along with co-host Brian Redban, chatter about comedian Colin Quinn, a type of comedy appears to be replaced, and our memories are likened to a computer’s hard drive. The Radio Dan ShowDan Delgado over at The Radio Dan Show has taken advantage of our instant upload link to shoot a couple of snippets from his podcast over to us. They’re short clips – less than a minute each, so I decided to make you a Radio Dan Sandwich or "danwich". I’ve wrapped both snippets around a tasty chunk of chat that I had with Dan last September in the Podcast Lab where we were both staked out during the 3rd Annual LA Podcast Festival. Date SpeedingSomeone else who took advantage of our Succotash instant upload was Jason Duplissea, who was one-half of the What Duvet Said podcast. (That show’s been on hiatus – Jason says it may get an overhaul and be kicked back into gear again. Hmm. If not, we might find What Duvet Said in the Podcast Graveyard!) Anyway, he’s got a new podcast up and running called Date Speeding hosted by the Reverend Rich Hugh. He says it’s advice for online daters and has a kind of Jack Handey/Deep Thoughts vibe, but with what he calls “a healthy dose of explicit language.” Angelos & BarryIn a world of confusion, media bombardment and mixed messages, it’s good to know the great philosopher's tradition still exists. Much like 70s comedy legends Derek & Clive before them, Angelos & Barry present a truly hysterical meeting of minds. Angelos Epithemiou was previously on cult UK comedy show Shooting Stars and Barry From Watford has graced TV, radio, and even our friend Davian Dent's shows The Bitter Sound and Strange Times. In this clip, the two discuss the possibly apocryphal events surrounding porn legend "King Dong" on a British 70s evening light entertainment show. The Casa Mirth PodcastIn this clip from the first episode of the new and second series of The Casa Mirth Podcast, Dr. Norman Trousers and River Zambezi discuss the differences between woman's swimwear and underwear. Everyone Has A PodcastAnother Tyson grab this week is a clip from Everyone Has A Podcast, with hosts Adam and Byron who, apparently, have no last names. According to their website, the guys are slowly building themselves a recording studio but started out doing their show by recording it into an iPhone. This clip is from their Epi3, entitled “Butt Crunch”. The Angry Chimp ShowOur friends Stu and company down under at The Angry Chimp Show uploaded us a clip from season 2 of their monkeyshines, which has just drawn to a close this week. Stu sent along a note with the clip that reads: “Hi, thought I would submit a clip from the second season of The Angry Chimp Show for your consideration should you be short on clips for upcoming epis. Hope you are well and keep up the good work! Stu” Thanks, Stu! These guys are a lot of fun and know how to work the audio sketch medium. Who The Eff Is Sal Calanni?There’s a podcast we’ve featured a time or two before that’s had a couple of permutations, including being called The Sal & Angelo Show. Now it’s called Who The Eff is Sal Calanni? and features San Francisco comedian Sal Calanni. He recently hit his 200th episode so I thought it was high time to check in, and he’s got a great story in the episode featuring the process he had to go through to audition for a movie that’s being shot in the Bay Area. Hyper NonsenseThis clip has a bit of a mysterious history. It was uploaded directly to us and with the show's information, and that it was from a recent episode of Hyper Nonsense. So I tweeted out a thank you and heard back from one of one of the co-hosts who claims that they never submitted a clip and where did it come from? Who knows, really. The hosts, Shawn Thorpe and his wife, Jen, are podcast vets, having started a podcast in 2005 called The Phantomfeed. Then they moved and launched a new show called Hyper Nonsense in 2006, which ran until 2009. In 2010 they started a new ‘cast called GeminiDragon, which ended in 2012, at which point they kicked off No Market Radio. Shawn wasn’t happy with that concept and so, in 2013, he and Jen decided to breathe new life into Hyper Nonsense and they swear on a stack of websites, that this one is here to stay. Dark Angels and Pretty FreaksI wonder if it’s time for a new adage, something along the lines of “the couple that podcasts together stays together”. There are a LOT of married couples in the podcast game, like our friends Travis and Brandi Clark from Tiny Odd Conversations, or Shawn and Jen from Hypernonsense that we also featured this show. There’s a show out of nearby Napa, California, called Dark Angels and Pretty Freaks, hosted by Annaleis and her husband Neil C. They’ve been really nice about retweeting a lot of our Succotash tweets but this is the first chance we’ve had to feature their show. The tagline on their website states, “Helping to Kill Your Commute”. It’s a conversational-style show with topics ranging all over the place, a lot of it focusing on things they do together. Welcome to Epi80 of Succotash, the Comedy Podcast Podcast. This week our special guest is Paul Mecurio, who you would have also heard for a few minutes at the top of last episode, number 79, and for a longer interview back in Epi65. To be honest, I was going to play my interview that I did back in October with Travis and Brandy Clark, from the Tiny Odd Conversations podcast but I recorded it at a sidewalk café in North Hollywood and the traffic noise made it really difficult to listen to, which means I’ll have to visit them and have another sit down soon. Apologies guys! I ended up having a good conversation with Paul, who was in town performing at the San Francisco Punchline. I caught his show on Wednesday night then we spent the rest of the week trying to coordinate a time for the interview. What finally worked was getting together in the last hour that he was in town, at his hotel, before he had to dash off to the airport. We talked about some of the projects he's got going on, from his headlining gigs around the counttry to some TV show ideas he was on his way to LA to pitch, and also The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, both of which he still does audience warmup and writing for. In this clip, Alex’s guest was English comedian Stu Francis. It seems the show, in trying to research Stu, had actually gotten to the website of STEWART Francis, a Canadian comic. Then they get into a discussion about Stu’s catchphrases, which are apparently his hallmark. ManBuyCow PodcastThis show was recommended to us via Twitter. I think it was Davian Dent from the Bitter Sound Podcast, actually. In realtime, on Twitter, I asked our Associate Producer Tyson Saner to go grab a clip which he did. But I ended up listening to the whole episode and I gotta tell you that, if you’re taste in comedy runs in the Monty Python/Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy vein, this show has got to be on your Subscribe list. ManBuyCow is from England and features two guys – Rufus & Howard. Last names undiscoverable so far. In this clip, the guys are mucking about with a clairvoyant tea kettle. Newbs RadioThis segment comes directly from Newbs Radio and it is not a comedy podcast, really. But the host, Eric Newby, is a supporter of Succotash and I told him I can pull some strings and get a clip of his show on the episode. He has a lot of musicians on and he sent in this clip from last summer, with his guest – singer Jonathan Richmond – because he felt it “explains what we do for your listeners”. Proudly ResentsI interviewed the host of the Proudly Resents podcast, Adam Spiegelman, during the LA Podcast Festival a few months ago. He’s been back in New York THIS month for the New York Podcast Festival. He did a live Tribute to Troma Films which I reviewed in last week’s This Week In Comedy Podcasts for http://Splitsider.com. And then he interviewed the co-founder of Troma, Lloyd Kaufman, who’s a genius of the ultra-low budget film. It’s a nicely put-together interview show and recently the guest was none other than friend-of-Succotash Travis Clark from the Tiny Odd Conversations podcast. (I have my own interview that I haven’t had a chance to get to that I did with Travis and his wife Brandi when I was in LA for the Podfest last October. I'll post it soon. I promise! This Ain’t IowaI’m often talking about how vast the world of podcasting is and comedy podcasts comprise a major continent of that world. It’s so big that it’s hard to see – or hear – everything until it’s too late. This Ain’t Iowa is a podcast out of Las Vegas, hosted by comedian Brian Mollica and it’s been chugging along since 2006. But now that chugging is coming to an end. Brian’s doing his “farewell tour” of the show, as he calls it, and has been having past co-hosts and regular guests calling and dropping in. One of those guest was a guy who was only ever identified on the show as “Wooden Spoon” and Spoon seems to have a somewhat colored and checkered past on the show. Pop My CultureWe haven’t heard from the Pop My Culture podcast for a while, with Cole Stratton and Vanessa Ragland - oh, they've been podcasting, we just haven't played a clip from them recently - but we’re going to hear from them now, along with their guest Armin Shimmerman, who you might know from his role as Quark on Deep Space Nine. Break Room PartyI first caught wind of the Break Room Party podcast on Twitter so I decided to check ‘em out. At first, it sounded to me like one of those dreaded “shootin’ the shit” shows I’ve kind of come to fear having to slog through but I hung in there.  Sure enough, the four hosts – Josh, Brandon, Trey & Ryan – didn’t disappoint. What they lack in comedy chops they make up for in comraderie and good natured ribbing. PLUS they dispense business advice. Every episode’s a different topic and this time it was about The Interview. The boys got off into a sideline about How To Turn The Interview Around. UttabullAnother show that came via a Twitter reference is the first podcast that I’d heard of that originates from the Isle of Man in the British Isles. Liam and Jason are the hosts of Uttabull. (Or, rather, Liam seems to be THE host while Jason USUALLY shows up.) They do a segment called Jason’s News and that’s where I pulled this clip from, as the gents get into a story from somewhere in Poland. Hangin’ OutcastTwitter was once again the conduit for me virtually meeting up with the Hangin’ Outcast podcast. These guys – Alex and Justin - are located in the Heart of the Inland Empire, which is another way of talking a whole bunch of nothing off the beaten track in Southern California. From this episode, I pulled the two hosts doling out some advice for those who want some to get into this podcast game. The 31 PodcastTyson Saner clipped us something from a show I hadn’t heard of before: The 31 Podcast. It’s basically a twist on the old “20 Questions” game, in which the host, Brandt Tobler, asks his guests 31 questions. Not sure why. But here he is with his guest Tom Segura, cohost of his own podcast, Your Mom’s House. BatfellaHere's the FULL debut episode of Adam Barker’s parody audio series, The Adventures of Batfella. Written and voiced by Adam along with some guests. Episode one, of many more to come, features the voice talents of British actress Rita Ramnani. If you're an Adam Barker fan (And, really, who isn't?), you should enjoy this show and not just because  the two podcasts that Adam normally does – the Oddcast Podcast UK and Its Not Soccer are taking a break until early spring while his girlfriend has a baby. It's been another couple of weeks since I last posted a new epi of Succotash, so I hope you didn't forget about us! The delay was kind of unavoidable – work has been crazy busy PLUS the computer I use for creating the episodes was damaged while I was on vacation. Those Great Succotash Recipes One of my favorite features of our show is fast becoming the succotash recipes that appear at the very tail end of the show. The original idea came from Jabs at the Dhead Factor and Boganwood podcasts and it was fun to play an actual recipe for succotash after every show – I just grabbed the audio off of YouTube video where people were cooking the stuff. But after doing that for about 6 months, the well was running try. So I’ve been reaching out to some of the more creative comedy podcasters out there and asking them to record recipes. So far we’ve had Chef Eddie Vedder from the Tiny Odd Conversations podcast and Chef Terry with a Cajun recipe from the Don’t Quit Your Daycast podcast. Chillpak Hollywood Hour Even though we’ve been down for a couple of weeks, it seems our friends Dean Haglund and Phil Leirness over at the Chillpak Hollywood Hour podcast have been swamped and, although they’ve been very good about putting out their Monday episodes, they’ve been from the set of a new movie they’re producing, directing and acting in called The Ladykillers. As a result, they haven’t been mentioning Succotash, which is fine, but those have been the clips I’ve been playing here – when they mention our show, see? He has a better excuse – and I’m not telling tales out of school because he mentions it right in the opening to The Dana Gould Show – he was going through a divorce. When I saw him early in the summer, it was just getting started but now most of the hysteria is done with and he getting back to finding the funnier things in life. In this clip Dana and two of this episode’s guests – April Richardson and past Succotash guest Matt Weinhold – chat it up about ghosts in the Comedy Store in Los Angeles, which seques quite naturally into a discussion about cocaine. What? The Perfect 10Anyone familiar with Ralphie May’s comedy know that he’s got strong opinions about things. He’s not afraid of expressing them onstage and he’s definitely not afraid to jump into them on his podcast which he co-hosts with his wife, comedian Lahna Turner. It’s called the Perfect 10 and this week it jumped up into the Top 100 on Stitcher at #91, having leaped up 45 places since last week. In this clip, we discover that Ralphie not only doesn’t like wine very much but HATES the movie Sideways, that is all about wine and wine tasting and screwing. This clip precedes a visit that Lahna then makes to take a tour of a winery and to learn a little something about viticulture.  The Bitter SoundThe Bitter Sound podcast out of the UK is often a sort of audio experiment. Host Davian Dent likes bending sound and structure in interesting and – often – disturbing ways. In the spirit of the BBC over there, Davian’s recently concluded his second season of six shows and we have a clip from that last show where a friend has bought him something to commemorate the occasion.  Call Chelsea PerettiHere is the first of the clips submitted by our buddy Tyson Saner. Tyson is not just an avid listener to podcasts but he’s a very supportive voice out there for a lot of shows – he’s constnatly retweeting stuff from not just Succotash but Chillpak Hollywood Hour, Combat Radio and others that he wants people to discover. I love this clip from Call Chelsea Peretti – a show we hadn’t gotten around to featuring yet – as Chelsea has guest Bill Burr on her podcast and you can tell they like mixing it up a bit. Action Science TheaterWe received a clip from Dan Bond, Brian Macken, and Dan Booth from their relatively new sketch-based podcast. Action Science Theatre is a monthly show. The description on their website reads: “Action Science Theatre is a podcast in the style of a radio play, that mixes action, science, comedy and silly voices to create a welcome distraction from real life for 20 minutes or so. It is unquestionably the finest free online audio drama you can get without trying any others.” There’s a little bit of a feel of The Thrilling Adventure Hour, Superego and Illusionoid to the show – at least in the clip we have, but that’s not a bad thing at all. BertcastWe played a clip from the Bertcast – hosted by comedian Bert Kreischer – when he first launched about a year and a half ago. Our honorary associate producer Tyson Saner lets us revisit the Mancave this week when Bert lures Marc Maron out of the WTF garage on The Bertcast to get real about marriage, kids, drinking, as well as hopes and dreams.  Mission Log: A Roddenberry Star Trek PodcastTyson Saner comes through again with Mission Log: A Roddenberry Star Trek Podcast. It’s a one-of-a-kind thingeroo that I’d never heard of but is pretty interesting, especially if you’re into The Trek. It features Ken Ray and John Campion delving into EVERY episode of EVERY Star Trek TV series, recounting the plotlines and then delving into the character motivations, plot wrinkles and everything in-between. There’s a sense of humor to it, for sure, but this is for the true ST aficionado.  One Dollar BeerOur next clip was sent in by Tommy Kay, one of the hosts of the One Dollar Beer podcast. Other hosts include Frost-T and Anthony Gunn. Tommy’s cover note says, "This is a snippet of our second episode entitled "Purple Lightsabers and White Women". It includes a clip from a segment where one of the hosts reveals some of his list of confessions and secrets that he never told anybody, along with reactions from the other hosts. Thank You." Adam’s got several shows under the Barker Productions banner, including the It’s Not Soccer podcast and the Ask An American podcast. For Episode 100, he had fellow podcasters from all over the place chime into an extensive audio play, in which a visitor from the future comes back to warn him about how dangerous his podcast is going to become. I clipped a clever bit from the top of the show, springing off of his catchphrase, “Nobody Is Listening”, and based on the Baz Luhrman song, Everybody’s Free To Wear Sunscreen. Doesn't seem like a lot in writing but this episode runs over an hour and 20 minutes. (Not as lengthy as last week's fun epi with guest co-host Monica Hamburg from the Dazed & Convicted podcast, but still pretty ample!) Hope you enjoy it. Happy holidays! Whether you're a Christmas-er, an Hanuakkat, or a Kwanza-hut, Succotash is damned glad to have you. "It's the time of miracles," said Alan Rickman's Hans Gruber in Die Hard and it's true. First of all, we're back in Studio P for the first time in many episodes. So good to have engineer/producer Joe Paulino back behind the controls. Not to mention Bill Haywatt, who has a fresh installment of Boozin' With Bill on tap this time around. Even Kenny Durgess, our booth assistant, is on the job and it's a great way to ring in the holiday season. I wanted to do something special for the holidays, so Epi44 is our Succotash Christmas Card to the illustrious members of the Pod Mafia. Who ARE the Pod Mafia? A loose collective of podcasters who have struck up a virtual (and sometimes actual) friendship via the web, and have actively worked to cross-promote each others' podcasts. I am pleased and honored to have been dubbed the Podfather by this crew, although I'm aware it's a precarious perch at best and someone else could shake me loose at any time. Nonetheless, for the meantime, as Podfather, it's my pleasure to offer up clips from the assembled members of the Pod Mafia this episode. One of the best things about getting to do an epi of Succotash in Studio P is that it puts us in proximity to Bill Haywatt's wet bar and give us a chance to present Boozin' With Bill. I give him a final salute in the form of a review in This Week In Comedy Podcasts on Splitsider.com but don't despair— Caleb is already prepping to return in February 2013 with his new podcast, Man School! In his farewell episode, Caleb is interviewed as much as he interviews by his guest, That Chris Gore of PodCRASH podcast fame. Dylan Brody's Neighbor's CouchAlthough Darren Staley is not a member of the Pod Mafia, I think he would be if he trafficked with out kind more. They were almost out of the Pod Mafia before it began toward the end last year because Travis was feeling like there was nowhere else to go with the show. I helped talk him off the ledge, and glad to have done so because we may never have gotten that great cookie recipe from Chef Eddie Vetter otherwise. Pissed Off ManI THINK Gavin from The Pissed Off Man Show is in the Pod Mafia. But I didn’t want to take a chance that he isn’t because he IS the Pissed Off Man. So Merry Christmas, Gee, and for a guy who says he doesn’t have much to be pissed off about on the last day of existence, according to the Mayan calendar, he still gets a few shots in… From Out Of NowhereThe From Out of Nowhere podcast – or FOONcast – with Eric Furniss and Rob Kern is really a music podcast but they’ve got a sense of humor and Eric is very active on Twitter as a member of the Pod Mafia. They’ve been doing their show from a local bar because their studio got damaged by Hurrican Sandy. The show I grabbed to clip from, however, actually features Rob in a bar interview he did awhile back with Motörhead's Lemmy Kilmister and Matt Sorum. Sorry, Eric – I was in a hurry! We’ll get your voice in there next time. So that's who's in our Christmas card to the members of the Pod Mafia. I hope I remembered everybody. And I know there are some folks in the Pod Mafia Irregulars that I wanted to clip this episode but there just wasn’t time. I’m back from the first Los Angeles Podcast Festival, which was about a week ago. It was pretty much a success and more well organized than you might imagine four comedians — Dave Anthony, Graham Elwood, Chris Mancini and Andy Wood — might be able to pull together. There were some interesting panels on how to promote your podcast and how to soup up your technology, stuff like that. And a bunch of live podcasts, everybody from Greg Behrendt and Dave Anthony’s Walking the Room and Superego! to Fitzdog Radio and Doug Loves Movies. Doug Benson’s show included Marc Maron, Zach Galafinaikis, Steve Agee, Todd Glass, and Dave Anthony. It was the most hilarious train wreck of a live podcast you’re liable to see…or hear. Susan Wygmans, Travis Clark, Me, Brandy Clark I got a chance to meet up with some of the podcasters that I’ve been tweeting and Skyping with over the past year or so but have never meet face to face! I had breakfast Travis and Brandy Clark from Tiny Odd Conversations and Susan Wygmans from Toggle The Switch. I recorded our conversation for the heck of it so for those really curious about what four podcasters like to shoot the shit about, just click on the player below. John was the co-host of a show called the Truth or Truth podcast which made it to 57 episodes before he and co-host Brandon called it quits but now he’s back with a woman on the other mic so we’ll see how it goes…  Podkward Podcast According to their site, Podkward hosts Emilio Rossal and Engineer Cesar chat with actors, musicians, filmmaker and hobos about a variety of topics including movies, relationships, strange rashes and more. Rob & Joe Show We’ve heard from Rob Maher and Joe Robinson of The Rob & Joe Show out of Baltimore before. They’re always got some interesting chatter going on and, in this clip, it’s about Rob’s encounter at a standup show with a blind audience member after the show. They livecast every Monday night at 7:30 PM East Coast time at their homesite. The Rigid Fist In the second clip we've played from The Rigid Fist, host Kat Sorens and his guest Carl MacAteer start out talking about exercise apps and end up in somewhat seamier territory. Ben-A-Pod I’m not quite sure what the thing is with the Ben-A-Pod podcast. Host Benjamin Bubb has guests, features, chat, and “audio drama” but Ben’s voice is electronically modulated throughout the show. It’s like listening to a Stephen Hawking podcast. I’m not sure if it wouldn’t drive you crazy hearing it all the time, but it’s definitely different. Especially this clip which get super-meta as Ben-A-Pod calls an automated help line. Burst O’ Durst I actually shouldn’t be playing this epi's Burst O’ Durst with Will Durst because it’s kind of time-sentitive — it’s based on the second presidential debate and now the third and final debate has already come and gone. Although episode 36 of Succotash finds us back in Studio P ("The Home of The Hit!"), it's without the benefit of our engineer/producer Joe Paulino this time. Under the unsteady hand of booth assistant Kenny Durgess, the good ship Succotash manages to make the journey through the rocky shoals of podcast clips and interviews (not to mention a new Boozin' With Bill segment) to arrive in one piece in your ears. I'd planned to have Will Durst, our Ambassador to the Middle and the funniest political comic this side of Congress, live in the studio. He's just put out a new e-book, Elect To Laugh, a collection of his syndicated newspaper columns and I figured he'd snap up the chance to plug it. This being an election year with very little time left on the clock, it’s a political comic’s busiest season so we'll have to reschedule for right after Libertarian President Gary Johnson gets sworn in. The host with past Succotash guest Joe Klocek In the realm of other things comedy, apropos of nothing having to do with this podcast, I was at the 32nd annual Comedy Day in San Francisco Sunday before last. It's a big tradition in the history of Bay Area comedy, dubbed by the event's originator, the late Jose Simon, as the local comedy scene's version of a company picnic. I hung out backstage, said howdy to a bunch of comedian friends I probably won't see most of for another year, and enjoyed a rare warm and sunny summer day in Golden Gate Park. As mentioned above, show announcer Bill Haywatt stumbles into Studio P this episode to ply me with alcohol in another edition of his Boozin' With Bill segment. This time we literally are draining the dregs of this bit when he prepares the drink he calls "The Starter Kit", basing what we swill down on what he finds left in the glasses and bottles strewn around Studio P following some kind of wild party that went on there the night before we taped the show. Normally you want to follow a recipe pretty closely but, in the case of The Starter Kit, you can pretty much throw in whatever you find lying around. Here's what is in the clip set for Epi36: Fitzdog RadioGreg Fitzsimmons has a great show not just because of the fact he’s genuinely entertaining and funny, but he manages to get some great guests, including producer/director Judd Apatow who, in this clip talks about supporting comedy (being a reformed standup himself), Tweeting too much and casting his own kids in movies. The Geek GenerationRob Logan, Bryan Lipsitz and Mike Volpe are within spitting distance of their 100th Geek Generation episode - congrats, guys - and thought we'd enjoy hearing a slice of their visit with Hollywood producer and former WCW talent Jeff Katz. He tells about the mistakes that were made in regards to Deadpool's character, ultimately resulting in him leaving production of the Wolverine movie. Tiny Odd ConversationsNot just a clip from Tiny Odd Conversations this episode, but I actually Skyped it up with TOC cohost Travis Clark to dig into the detail of his upcoming Hashtag Comedy Show in Los Angeles. What started out as mostly a joke to get people to donate to his and wife Brandi's podcast has lunged out of control into a full-fledged night of comedy with the focus being on having his non-standup spouse get on stage to tell jokes. Podd SocksFirst time on for a show from Down Under I haven’t heard of before, featuring a quartet of Aussie 20-somethings — Ben Dunlop, Kris Francis, Nathan Press and Jack de Zwart — sitting around and shooting the shite about "current events, pop culture, telling personal stories from their lives and analysing conspiracy theories" as their website tells it. Cashing In with TJ MillerI've featured a clip before but I’ve loved the concept for this podcast ever since host Cash Levy told it to me so I'm playing some more. It’s supposed to be a regular talk show style podcast with various guests…but every episode the guest who was scheduled never shows up and comedian/actor TJ Miller is always called to fill in. This clip finds them in a riff about going back to where you grew up to do a comedy show and the kind of reception you get from the old hometown crowd. They also coin the term "hot pods". Random Variety Show PodcastFlattery may not get you many places but it will definitely get your comedy podcast clip on this show. Especially, as in the case of friend-od-Succotash Charley Miller, who has declared that listening to our podcast is what got him psyched up to do The Random Variety Show. Charley's 17.5 episodes into his show, which originates out of San Diego, and he features interviews with various locally-based performers as well as some unusual guest...like Groucho Marx. Don’t Quit Your DaycastAnother fine fellow who’s leapt onto the podcasting soundstage recently is Ed Wallick, who’s also been venturing on the open mic stages around the Bay Area for the past couple of years. Like Charley Miller, he credits Succotash with showing him a way to do his own thing on the interwebs and it’s been fun watching him develop his format and style along the way. In this clip from DQYP, Ed teams up with Tiny Odd Conversation's Travis Clark to create Jesse vs. Jesse, a bit about battling Jesse Venturas. Venturai? The HustleCo-hosts Will Gilman and Adam Tucker run conversationally amok with a variety of guests — comedians, musicians and — I think — random dudes off the street sometimes. In this clip they have fellow comedians Harry J. Riley and Justin McNiff in the house and they’re riffing about men having a limit on the number of erections we get in our lifetimes. In addition to clips this episode, I feature Angy Robot, a cut off of the album Laser Zombie Robot Love by sci-fi/comedy musician (and past Succotash guest) John Anealio.
