And, an Undisputed Junior Welterweight Title showdown from Las Vegas Saturday night are both big topics on the latest edition of "The Big Fight Weekend Podcast."Host TJ Rives is back with senior writer Marquis Johns of Bigfightweekend.com. The guys go in-depth on the latest with the out of the ring soap opera, involving Fury and his now failed Undisputed Heavyweight Title showdown with Anthony Joshua. A twice delayed Jr. Lightweight World Title fight headlines this edition of the Big Fight Weekend podcast. This, as WBO 130 lb. World champ, Jamel Herring, will finally make the second defense of his championship after his bout with Covid-19 has delayed the fight for over the last 2 months. We discuss this fight and all the boxing action this weekend, plus, the news of the week on the showSenior writer of BigFightWeekend.com, Marquis Johns, joins me, once again, on the show and we first go over the latest news. This includes, the proposed reschedule date for Unified World Heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua of England, battling IBF number one contender, Kubrat Pulev of Bulgaria. That fight is now slated tentatively for December and is also apparently going to be in the same two week time frame as the Tyson Fury - Deontay Wilder third fight, which is more highly anticipated, especially in the U.S.Ultimately the winners of those two Heavyweight clashes may end up fighting each other for the Undisputed Championship in the first part of 2021.We also discuss the ongoing three way feud between the top draw in the sport, Mexican four division world champion, Canelo Alvarez, his promoter Oscar De La Hoya / Golden Boy Promotions and the DAZN streaming service. The three parties cannot get on the same page for Canelo's next fight which was supposed to be happening this month, but may not happen at all in 2020.Marquis and I discuss, further, whether DAZN is going to be able to remain in business, much less be able to play Canelo's ridiculous guaranteed $30 + million per bout contract they signed him to fight for on their service in the future? We then jump into the analysis and even some betting odds for the two biggest cards in America this weekend. The native New Yorker, Herring is up first as he defends against WBO top 10 fighter, Jonathan Oquendo, in the Las Vegas Bubble at the MGM Grand Conference Center. This fight was originally supposed to have happened around July 4th weekend, but Herring tested positive in advance for Coronavirus delaying the fight the first time. Herring also tested positive on a retest several weeks later delaying the fight a second time, until now.We discuss what the future could be for Herring, if he is victorious in the main event Saturday night to be televised by ESPN / ESPN+.We also have Insight on the Premier Boxing Champions latest show coming Sunday night on Fox Sports. That features Cuban-born, Yordenis Ugas in a Welterweight contender battle with California's, Abel Ramos in the main event.Marty's gives his Insight on whether you guys can get a rematch with Shawn Porter, whom he lost a 12-round decision to last year or maybe, get in the mix with fellow welterweight contender and former WBA World Champion, Keith Thurman, for an upcoming contender fight.Catch all of our boxing conversation, analysis and more, as part of the show. THE BEST 2000s HIPHOP & R&B DANCE PARTY IS COMING TO CINCINNATI! ORANGE SODA: CINCINNATI WHAT IS ORANGE SODA? The idea behind Orange Soda is to capture the feeling of the 2000’s decade and highlight the music and experiences that shaped us into who we are. Parties in high school and college were full of life lessons: the people danced, there was a care-free attitude where the only priority was having fun, and the music was so good that you couldn’t help but sing and rap along. Orange Soda is, for at least one night, a blast to the past and a pioneering party experience designed to pay attention to an era that we all loved, but don’t appreciate enough. The people who come to OS are the ones who want to drink, dance, and throw caution to the wind. If you aint about that life, you'd best just stay home or else you're going to find yourself amongst a vibe that you just don't understand. Sounds by BERN, DNTFRT and a special guest! Expect a wide variety of classics from early to late 2000s! All of your favorites! What is the latest with the proposed *Tyson Fury - Deontay Wilder* third fight? And, an Undisputed Junior Welterweight Title showdown from Las Vegas Saturday night are both big topics on the latest edition of "The Big Fight Weekend Podcast." Host TJ Rives is back with senior writer Marquis Johns of Bigfightweekend.com. ( http://www.bigfightweekend.com ) The guys go in-depth on the latest with the out of the ring soap opera, involving Fury and his now failed Undisputed Heavyweight Title showdown with Anthony Joshua. This, as former WBC champion Wilder successfully won an arbitration challenge to have their rematch clause enforced. It is now believed that Fury and Wilder May fight as soon as Late July in Las Vegas. TJ and Marquis go over all of the shenanigans and what the likelihood is that Fury and Wilder will be in the ring again in mid-Summer? Then, TC Martin from Las Vegas and the 5 day a week "TC Martin Show" hops aboard to discuss the 140-pound Undisputed Title fight between Mexico's Jose Ramirez and Scotland's *Josh Taylor.* The bout will be the first in Las Vegas post Covid-19 pandemic to have fans and should be an entertaining battle. Finally TJ and Marquis go over the odds and actually disagree on who's going to win the Top Rank Boxing/ESPN main event and the Undisputed 140-pound title bout. Ramirez is 26-0, while Taylor (photo at the top), who's traveled over 5,000 miles from Scotland to the Nevada desert, is 17-0. Taylor is the slight favorite, but clearly, Ramirez is a live Underdog, as both fighters know that a massive payday will await the winner if he has all four championships. Marquis also goes over the undercard of Taylor-Ramirez and also a fight or two to watch elsewhere on the globe for this weekend. Emanuel “El Vaquero (Cowboy)” Navarrete of Mexico moves up to 126 lb. trying to claim a second world championship in a different weight division. Navarette, 32-1, 27 KOs, successfully defended his Junior featherweight title five times over the last two years and now will battle veteran contender, southpaw Ruben Villa in a scheduled 12-round to be televised by ESPN. In the resumption of the sport post Covid 19 outbreak, Navarette knocked out little known fellow countryman, Uriel Lopez (above) in June in the sixth round of his Featherweight debut in a bout from TV Azteca Studios in Mexico City. It was the sixth victory in the previous 13 months for Navarrete (32-1, 28 KOs), who burst on the scene, when he upset Isaac Dogboe in December 2018 to win his WBO World Title. Navarrete has now won 27 fights in a row since suffering his only pro loss in his sixth bout. Also, he previously injured his right hand in his 11th round TKO of Jeo Santisima in February on the undercard of the Tyson Fury-Deontay Wilder card in Las Vegas. However, that hand has fully healed and he showed no effects in bombing out Lopez nearly four months ago. Speaking of the “Worldwide Leader in Sports,” their senior boxing reporter / insider Steve Kim is our first guest on the show. He gives great insight into what kind of chance Villa has to hang in with the hard-punching Navarrete. Kim also has some thoughts in the preview mode for next Saturday’s World Lightweight unification title fight between Ukrainian IBF/WBA World champ, Vasiliy Lomachenko and New York’s unbeaten IBF title holder Teofimo Lopez. Then on the podcast, we welcome Marquis Johns, senior writer for BigFight Weekend.com to get his thoughts on Navarrete- Villa, including the betting angle of will Navarrete win by KO and is it worthwhile to take the under/over 10.5 rounds in this one? Marquis also has thoughts on two prominent Pay-Per-View fights. First, Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Leo Santa Cruz being pushed to the end of October, because fans will now be present at the Alamodome in San Antonio Texas. And this will be the same with the World Welterweight Title Fight in December now between unbeaten champion, Errol Spence and challenger, Danny Garcia, which will be at the Dallas Cowboys AT&T Stadium with fans present. We discuss this fight and all the boxing action this weekend, plus, the news of the week on the show: Senior writer of BigFightWeekend.com, Marquis Johns, joins me, once again, on the show and we first go over the latest news. This includes, the proposed reschedule date for Unified World Heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua of England, battling IBF number one contender, Kubrat Pulev of Bulgaria. That fight is now slated tentatively for December and is also apparently going to be in the same two week time frame as the Tyson Fury – Deontay Wilder third fight, which is more highly anticipated, especially in the U.S. Ultimately the winners of those two Heavyweight clashes may end up fighting each other for the Undisputed Championship in the first part of 2021. We also discuss the ongoing three way feud between the top draw in the sport, Mexican four division world champion, Canelo Alvarez, his promoter Oscar De La Hoya / Golden Boy Promotions and the DAZN streaming service. The three parties cannot get on the same page for Canelo’s next fight which was supposed to be happening this month, but may not happen at all in 2020. Marquis and I discuss, further, whether DAZN is going to be able to remain in business, much less be able to play Canelo’s ridiculous guaranteed $30 + million per bout contract they signed him to fight for on their service in the future? We then jump into the analysis and even some betting odds for the two biggest cards in America this weekend. The native New Yorker, Herring is up first as he defends against WBO top 10 fighter, Jonathan Oquendo, in the Las Vegas Bubble at the MGM Grand Conference Center. This fight was originally supposed to have happened around July 4th weekend, but Herring tested positive in advance for Coronavirus delaying the fight the first time. Herring also tested positive on a retest several weeks later delaying the fight a second time, until now. We discuss what the future could be for Herring, if he is victorious in the main event Saturday night to be televised by ESPN / ESPN+. We also have Insight on the Premier Boxing Champions latest show coming Sunday night on Fox Sports. That features Cuban-born, Yordenis Ugas in a Welterweight contender battle with California’s, Abel Ramos in the main event. Marty’s gives his Insight on whether you guys can get a rematch with Shawn Porter, whom he lost a 12-round decision to last year or maybe, get in the mix with fellow welterweight contender and former WBA World Champion, Keith Thurman, for an upcoming contender fight. Catch all of our boxing conversation, analysis and more, as part of the show.
