SummaryIn this episode of The Chasing Health Podcast, Chase and Chris dive deep into one of the most frustrating parts of any health journey—when you're doing everything right, but the scale isn't moving. Chris kicks off with some takeaways from a recent coaching summit, including a reminder that progress doesn't come from shortcuts, but from consistency and community.Chase shares a story about a client who hit a mental roadblock when the scale went up despite her efforts, and how our brains sometimes use self-sabotage as a way to feel “in control.” The conversation also touches on why people give up, how to zoom out and see the bigger picture, and how success comes from sticking with habits long after the program ends. The coaches wrap up by answering a listener question: “Why does it take so long?” Their answer? Because real change—habits, mindset, and lifestyle—takes time. But that's what makes it last.Chapters(00:00) Welcome Back & Chris Recaps His Vegas Trip(00:48) Takeaways from the Coaching Summit(02:48) Client Story: When the Scale Goes Up for No Reason(06:20) The Illusion of Control and Self-Sabotage(08:53) Learning to Zoom Out and Trust the Process(10:23) Using Weekly Averages to Stay Sane(11:26) Creating Awareness Around Patterns and Setbacks(14:33) Why the Journey Feels So Long Sometimes(16:41) No Magic Fix: Hard Work Is Still the Answer(17:56) When Fat Loss Isn't the Right Goal(19:43) Stress, Digestion, and Scaling Back(21:49) Listener Question: Why Does It Take So Long?(23:46) What Are You Willing to Sacrifice for Faster Results?(25:28) Why the Scale Isn't the Most Interesting Thing About You(27:39) Stop Letting the Scale Dictate Your Mood(30:15) Wrap-Up & Keep the Questions Coming!SUBMIT YOUR QUESTIONS to be answered on the show: https://forms.gle/B6bpTBDYnDcbUkeD7How to Connect with Us:Chase's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/changing_chase/Chris' Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/conquer_fitness2021/Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/665770984678334/Interested in 1:1 Coaching: https://conquerfitnessandnutrition.com/1on1-coachingJoin The Fit Fam Collective: https://conquerfitnessandnutrition.com/fit-fam-collective

WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO GIVE UP PART 2When David went to Araunah to purchase his threshing floor for a sacrifice to the Lord, the Message Bible reads in II Samuel 24:24 But the king said to Araunah, “No. I've got to buy it from you for a good price; I'm not going to offer God, my God, sacrifices that are no sacrifice.” So David bought the threshing floor and the ox, paying out fifty shekels of silver. If what we're giving to our Father isn't costing us then it's really not a sacrifice. But didn't Jesus pay the price? As I once heard someone say years ago, salvation is free but the anointing cost. Jesus paid the price for our salvation but we pay the price for what God wants to do through us. We pay the price for the anointing on our lives. Either we pay the price for the anointing on our lives or we give up that anointing for the satisfaction of the flesh. Have you ever felt like your hair was on fire? Do you believe you must accomplish something monumental or reach a specific milestone to validate your success? Does your "to-do list" seem like an insurmountable mountain, and dissatisfaction permeates your existence? It's time for a change. Today, I will give you the blueprint for embracing and loving your life, and together, we'll explore strategies for confronting those challenging days or endeavors when nothing seems to align. Join me on my joy journey, where I'm learning how to love my life. We all have choices, and I encourage you to lay aside those tasks, chores and attitudes that rob you of your joy.     IN THIS EPISODE:   [0:20] I ask a profound question, “Are You in Love With Your Life?” [4:13] Choosing what fills your day and how you set up your schedule [8:24] I share regrets of not spending time with my daughter when she was young and experiencing hair-on-fire moments [17:03] Continuing the hustle can lead to depression. You don't have to earn your joy and leaning into your creative space [22:01] The “To Do List” will rob your joy [22:59] I invite you to think about the question, “Are You in Love With Your Life, and if not, What Are You Willing to Change?”   KEY TAKEAWAYS    Everyone is busy. Sometimes too busy. The truth is that you can choose what you do during a day or a week. Make choices that give you joy and eliminate the tasks that you can. Not everything you place on your schedule is necessary.  There will be moments in your business and life when you will experience hair-on-fire moments. How you think of those problems and how you address those problems determines the effect those problems have on your joy. You have to make time in life for your creative space. Creativity doesn't naturally come when you are exhausted and let your “To-Do List” run your life.    FEATURED ON THIS SHOW:   Ready to elevate your social media presence and supercharge your interior design business? I have a new book coming out on August 24th, 2021 “The Peacemaker's Path: Multifaith Reflections to Deepen Your Spirituality” Now more than ever, people are painfully divided politically, religiously, and culturally. And yet, there is a commonality in our faith traditions that can help us turn away from polarization and create a greater sense of community in which our differences are honored. The Peacemaker's Path brings together wisdom from the world's major religious traditions, including Bahá'í, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Judaism, Native American spiritualities, Sikhism, Taoism, and Zoroastrianism, showing that we have much more in common than what divides us. Through daily readings that explore the tenets, teachings, writings, and prayers of these diverse faith traditions, you will gain new insight, understanding, and connection with people from different religious backgrounds. Each day offers a reflection, scripture passages from the world's religions, questions to contemplate, a call to action, and a closing prayer. May we realize the tremendous importance of building bridges of peace in our own lives, communities, and world. Loving our friends is easy; loving the "other" will bring shalom. I remember talking with one of my nieces who was trying to make a major decision concerning an organization she really wanted to become a part of. She knew joining could affect her future, but she acknowledged that her initial feeling was that she didn't want to think about the future, she just wants to have fun right now. I chuckled because I can totally relate. I've had many similar internal dialogues. I recall murmuring and complaining about some things that I thought I had to have now, and that I couldn't live without. I felt like I couldn't wait any longer. Then I heard it clearly, “What Are You Willing to Give Up for a Bowl of Soup?” One day when Jacob was cooking some stew, Esau arrived home from the wilderness exhausted and hungry. Esau said to Jacob, “I'm starved! Give me some of that red stew!” (This is how Esau got his other name, Edom, which means “red.”) “All right,” Jacob replied, “but trade me your rights as the firstborn son.” “Look, I'm dying of starvation!” said Esau. “What good is my birthright to me now?” But Jacob said, “First you must swear that your birthright is mine.” So, Esau swore an oath, thereby selling all his rights as the firstborn to his brother, Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and lentil stew. Esau ate the meal, then got up and left. He showed contempt for his rights as the firstborn (Genesis 25:29-34 NLT).NEVER MAKE A MAJOR LIFE DECISION BASED ON TEMPORARY DISCOMFORT!Have you ever felt like you needed something or someone so desperately that you would die if you didn't get it/them; you know, that person or thing that you would give anything to have right now? Are you willing to compromise to get it? Are you willing to give up something that should be cherished to get it, i.e., dignity, self-respect, integrity, relationship with God? Do you feel like you have no other choice but to disobey God to get it? If so, you know firsthand what it feels like to consider selling your birthright for a bowl of soup. Yes, I said birthright; see, we have to remember that it became our birthright once we accepted Christ and became born again Believers and joint-heirs with Christ. So, we don't have to worry that we won't get that which God has in store for us, it's already ours; we just have to be patient, obey (walk upright), and trust God for His timing. Every good and perfect gift comes from God (James 1:17). No good thing will He withhold from us if we walk upright (Psalm 84:11). The truth is, Esau probably would not have actually died if he didn't eat right then, but he was only focused on that moment. He didn't take into consideration the future he was giving up. He was so concerned with instant gratification that he forfeited his destiny. This should serve as a wakeup call for us. Let us remember that our birthright is not just for us; it's for our families and loved ones, our children our descendants. It's kind of a Big Deal, so let's not discount it or take it for granted and hand it over to the “deceiver” just because we can't see the Big Picture right now.  Remember, we are lured away by our own lusts (James 1:14); so sometimes all the enemy has to do is dangle it in front of us like a carrot in front of a rabbit, and we won't stop until we get it, no matter the cost .If you feel weary, like you can't do it; be encouraged. Remember, Jesus was tempted too.  We thank God that Jesus didn't give in; because He resisted temptation, we all have a right to an Abundant life! Matthew 4:1-11 NLTThe next time you feel like you won't make it if you don't get what you want when you want it, before you do something that could cause you to risk aborting the purpose and destiny for yourself and your lineage, ask yourself, “What Are You Willing to Give Up for a Bowl of Soup?”Remember, if God said it, then That Settles It.

For You, Jesus “humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross” for Your Sins; What Are You Willing to Sacrifice for Him? MESSAGE SUMMARY: What have you, personally, sacrificed for the Gospel? Some have lost jobs, friendships, and family members because of their faith. Others, outside of the US, are losing their lives following the Gospel of Jesus the Christ. For example, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) reports that 6,000 Christians were killed between January and June 2018 in Nigeria. What have you sacrificed for the gospel? You cannot earn your Salvation by your actions like standing up for your faith – Salvation is provided to you by God though His Grace and your faith. Paul, in Philippians 2:8-11, posits the Gospel’s intended impact for followers of Jesus: “And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.". However, there is a joy to you when you sacrifice something in your life for Jesus and the Gospel rather than always living for yourself. What have you sacrificed for the Gospel – Jesus gave His all for you?   TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Addictions. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Self-Control. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f). SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Philippians 2:1-11; 2 Corinthians 4:8-12; Acts 7:51-60; Psalms 18e:41-50.
