And just like that it's the finale of "And Just Like That...". What a wild ride it has been. We've seen non binary stand up, we've seen vet techs, we've seen lots of bald people kissing, we've seen men making love, we've seen Charlotte sell a painting to Sam Smith and we've seen Aiden in a gestapo outfit. We suffered through it all and we arrived at the conclusion of some of the best/ worst television ever made. We love you "And Just Like That" and we hate you. We will miss you dearly, can't wait to see you again. Hope it goes by in a snap. Support the show
This week on Mummy Dearest we recap the penultimate episode of season 2 of "And Just Like That...". We can't believe it's almost over. We never want it to stop even though it remains the best / worst written show of maybe all time? This week we get near death attempts, Shaloin monk hijinks, butt stuff, and Aiden's attempt at crying. It was a juicy episode filled with all the stuff we love to hate but we're really just biding our time until we get the series finale call from SAMANTHA JONES! All that and so much more on this week's episode of Mummy Dearest!Support the show
This week on Mummy Dearest we unwrap Season 2, Episode 7 of "And Just Like That...". This episode shook us to our very core. There are things we cannot get enough of: LTW's luscious décolletage, LTW's hair, LTW's skin, LTW's attitude. And then there are things we never want to see again: Che as a VET TECH, Che as a stand up comic, Che period. There are things we want to see more of: Miranda becoming a high powered lesbian with other high powered beautiful lesbians (maybe we tie in LTW here?) But the main focus of this week's episode is Aiden. He's back and he's...an SS officer? A member of the new nazi party? A WWII collector? What the hell was his outfit about? Aiden would never have worn anything like that! We get to the bottom of how this happened and we discuss the Drew Barrymore of it all on this week's episode of Mummy Dearest. Support the show
This week on Mummy Dearest we unwrap episode 5 of "And Just Like That...". We are fully in, we love this show, we will watch it forever, it's hot garbage, feed it to us with a spoon and we will slurp it up like the little piggy babies we are. This episode had everything from LTW's hot body shakin it to TLC, Harry wearing a disturbing wig, LTW's husband in sexy George Washington cosplay, Miranda carving pumpkins, and Che potentially getting dumped by ABC. There was a lot to unpack but we tried out best on this week's episode of Mummy Dearest!Support the show
This week on Mummy Dearest we unwrap episode 4 of And Just Like That... . This week we are back to our roots. The gals (plus Anthony) sit around a brunch table and discuss Charlotte's love of cūm and Harry's lack of cūm. The word cūm slūt is thrown around a lot and it felt like we needed Samantha there to really lead the charge. This episode heavily featured all the things we love about the series: elderly people's dick pics, borderline non consensual they/them ex-husband threesomes, half built Ikea furniture and men doing Kegel exercises. It's safe to say we're so f#%king back baby, and we can't wait to see what the insane writers of this show have in store for us next week! All that and so much more on this week's episode of Mummy Dearest!Support the show
And just like that it's another episode of "And Just Like That". This week our favorite girls, gays and theys find themselves in all sorts of hijinks! We witness robberies, tattoos, line running, jewelry heists, and a trip to a T-Mobile store. Oh and of course, there's more Tony Danza for all you Danzalions out there! All that and so much more on this week's episode of Mummy Dearest!Support the show
We're so f@#king back baby!! And just like that "And Just Like That" is back. We couldn't be happier. All the things we hated about the first season were dialed up to a 10 in these first two episodes and we have no choice but to applaud the audacity of the writers! They gave us strap-ons, unnecessary racial tensions, budding designers failing to make a simple garment for the MET gala, gay bashing, Hep C, top hats and latex corsets and of course, Tony Danza. Truly, we are right where we belong. Back with our gals as they wear $80,000 outfits to go to lunch in the park. Thank you MAX for bringing us back to our gals. We can't wait to see what this season has in store for us! And remember, season one recap episodes are all available on our Patreon!Support the show
Screenwriter Topper Lilien has a lens shaped with extraordinary life experiences, which have a symbiotic relationship with his diverse array of film projects. In other words, the two feed off of each other, and push forward the creation of something truly unique. The New York native has seen it all when it comes to the development, production, release, and perhaps most importantly, the collaborative aspects of film. He wrote one of the seminal jazz films about the colorful life and career of jazz pianist Joe Albany, Low Down, told through the perspective of his daughter, Amy-Jo, who served as co-writer. Directed by Jeff Preiss, the Sundance release surveyed their experiences in Los Angeles in the 1970s, and starred John Hawkes, Elle Fanning, Lena Headey, Glenn Close and Flea; the latter of whom served as executive producer along with bandmate Anthony Kiedis. In the late 90s, Topper wrote Paul Newman's second to last live action film, Where the Money Is, with E. Max Frye (Something Wild; Foxcatcher) and Carroll Cartwright. Produced by Ridley Scott, the film co-starred Dermot Mulroney and Linda Fiorentino, and journeyed the plight of a professional thief who experiences a stroke and is “forced” into a nursing home. Topper's other notable collaborators include James Cameron, Michael Bay, Quincy Jones, Steve Golin and Robin Williams. In our conversation, we discussed the process of writing on a typewriter; trial by fire in Hollywood; working on the ill-fated Dungeons and Dragons, which starred Jeremy Irons and Marlon Wayans; and collaborating with Fisher Stevens, Elmore Leonard the late Willie Garson.Opening Credits: 1st Contact - Wohin I Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0); So Cow - Off Out I Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0). Book Vs. Movie: Freaky FridayThe Mary Rogers Children's Classic Vs. the 1976 & 2003 Disney AdaptationsIn December (because we have covered just about every holiday-themed Christmas, New Year, Thanksgiving, and Hannukah film we can find)! The Margos turn our attention to all things Disney, and this year we begin with the classic Freaky Friday by Mary Rogers, which has been adapted a few times since its 1972 publication. Rogers, whose father was composer Richard Rogers, had a full career as a composer, screenwriter, and children's novelist with successes on stage like Once Upon a Mattress which ran on Broadway in 1959 and later toured the world. In 1972 she contributed to the Marlo Thomas album Free to Be You and Me (William's Doll) before completing Freaky Friday. The story of 13-year-old Annabel Andrews, who switches bodies with her mother only to discover being a parent is much harder than it looks. Annabell finds out her father is sexist and runs her mother ragged with demands on home life. Ultimately, she discovers that it was her mother the whole time who caused the body switch to show Annabel that she has her best interests in mind. The 1976 film stars Jodie Foster as Annabel and Barbara Harris as her mother, Ellen, with a screenplay by Rogers. One big difference is that the movie takes place in California versus New York City. Oh, and the racism casually featured in the book. (It's a big yikes there!) It was a huge hit that garnered several Golden Globes Awards nominations. In 1995, Shelly Long and Gaby Hoffman lead in the second adaptation. The 2003 film stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan and was a huge hit that is problematic today. So between them all--which did we like better? Have a listen to find out!Kensington Books and the novel Colorado Country by Diana Palmer sponsor this episode!New York Times bestselling author Diana Palmer takes readers to Christmastime in Colorado with two of her celebrated novellas in one collection featuring solitary, silent cowboys who find their restless hearts tamed by women of uncommon grace and strength. This a gift for readers who love heartwarming contemporary romance, gorgeous rugged cowboys, and fans of Carolyn Brown, Linda Lael Miller, and Delores Fossen. Meadow Dawson is struggling to manage the enormous ranch she just inherited. Too bad she's not on speaking terms with the one man who can help her out. Cattleman Dal Blake wishes Meadow's dog would quit digging under his fence—and that his pretty neighbor wasn't just as good at getting under his skin. . . Widowed schoolteacher Katy is starting over with her young daughter, and she knows the perfect place—her grandmother's Colorado ranch. A runaway Palomino brings reclusive horse wrangler Parker to her door. Aliens have come to Earth this week in Point of No Return. What does Jack do during his downtime? RIP to Willie Garson. You were amazing as Martin. We also get a bit of an art history lesson and learn more about The Thinker. Why, when weird stuff happens, does SG1 dismiss the possibilities so quickly? THEY WORK WITH ALIENS. Jess is joined by comedian, actor and Broadway star MARIO CANTONE! We go deep on his friendships with Michael Patrick King & Sarah Jessica Parker, critic & fan reaction to AND JUST LIKE THAT, not reading the script for SEX AND THE CITY 3, Willie Garson's death and the original plans for Stanford & Anthony's storyline. Plus, his impressions of Liza Minnelli & Julia Child, turning down THE LION KING on Broadway, his time at THE VIEW, Andy Cohen asking him to do a "LIFE ON THE D LIST" type reality show & more! Should Mr. Feeny have let Cory retake his test OR was he teaching him a valuable lesson?! As Danielle, Rider and Will are digging in to Episode 3 they share their memories of costar Willie Garson. Willie is known to many as Stanford Blatch on Sex and the City but on Pod Meets World he is known as Leonard Spinelli. Cringy or Classic? Cory makes a risqué joke about his parents… too much for a 12 year old?! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Most people don't usually think that accounts payable would make an interesting movie. Luckily, Hollywood, Leonardo Di Caprio and Willie Garson, Matt Bomer didn't agree. We've got three movies that were based on real-life episodes (of fraud) that we'd like to share with you. They are instructive in that they demonstrate how the frauds were committed and you can easily see how they could have been prevented. Embezzlement is key in only some of these. #accountspayable #movies #fraud Real life frauds happen because certain best practices are not used. These movies demonstrate that the lack of appropriate best practices can and does lead to fraud. The movies and or documentaries cover real life frauds and show how real life people stole from the companies where they worked. The broadcast also discusses best practices that would have prevented these frauds from occurring. The broadcast also reveals where listeners and viewers can find these movies and watch them themselves. One of them was only released towards the end of 2021. The others have been around for a while. Whenever Hollywood decides to make a movie or documentary around something that happened in accounts payable, you know you'll have a great piece of entertainment. They are instructive in that they demonstrate how the frauds were committed and you can easily see how they could have been prevented. The hilarious Mario Cantone joins Mase & Sue on the #CulturePopPodcast to talk about his latest show AND JUST LIKE THAT on HBO Max. It's the sequel to SEX & THE CITY, so he worked with Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon again, but his friend and co-star Willie Garson passed away during shooting. He discusses how that impacted the show, and what it was like to "get the band back together." Plus his colorful childhood and his legendary stand-up career.

Remember the teen comedy, Out Cold? David's teen choice this week is the 2001 snowboarding flick starring Jason London, the late Willie Garson and Zack Galifianakis. A parody of Casablanca, this teen movie has an eight percent on Rotten Tomatoes, a killer soundtrack and castmates that include Lee Daniels, David Koechner, Thomas Lennon and Victoria Silverstedt. In the likes of movies from the early 2000s, it's humor is reminiscent of American Pie and EuroTrip but doesn't quite hold up. Join us as we discuss Zack Galifianakis black out scenes, why Victoria Silvstedt is in this movie and why we love the soundtrack.

Writer, director, and executive producer Michael Patrick King and executive producers, Elisa Zuritsky and Julie Rottenberg welcome Keli Goff to the writers room. Keli shares how her encyclopedic knowledge of Sex and the City informed ideas for the episode, including Charlotte's obsessive plan to impress at LTW's dinner party. Then, the group discusses how varied choices around motherhood in the writers room informed the vulnerable conversation between Miranda and Nya. Also, Michael Patrick King shares the touching scene they wanted to film, between Carrie and Stanford, before Willie Garson's passing. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

November 8th marks one year since we lost the legendary Alex Trebek to Pancreatic Cancer and just last month, it took the beloved Sex and the City actor, Willie Garson from us. The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) will launch its annual Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month campaign to raise awareness of the world's toughest cancer. With a five-year survival rate of just 10 percent, pancreatic cancer is third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States. Early detection is vital to improving patient outcomes, which is why it is so important for patients and families to Talk. Test. Take Control. and understand their own inherited risk for pancreatic cancer due to genetic mutations. Knowledge is power in the battle against Pancreatic Cancer. This November, PanCAN is emphasizing the importance of starting a conversation about the importance of genetic testing to understand inherited risk for this disease. Family history of the disease may increase the risk of pancreatic cancer. That's why PanCAN recommends that first-degree family members (parents, siblings, children) of pancreatic cancer patients consider genetic testing if their loved one was either found to have a genetic mutation or if they are unsure if their loved one was tested or of the results. Julie Fleshman became Pancreatic Cancer Action Network's first full-time staff person and its first Executive Director in April 2000. Having lost her father to pancreatic cancer in 1999, she has made it her passion and commitment to change the course of the disease. In July 2004, the Board of Directors appointed Fleshman President and CEO. Under her leadership, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network has driven consistent excellence and innovation throughout the programs and services of the organization, including introducing precision medicine service Know Your Tumor® and Precision PromiseSM, the first response-adaptive randomized clinical trial for pancreatic cancer. At the same time, she has steadily increased revenue growth and the organization's impact. Under her direction, the organization has greatly expanded and attracted leading researchers from prestigious institutions around the country to study pancreatic cancer.
