An amazing tool helping us work with ourselves and our inner and outer "enemies".Today I share my favourite meditation that helped me deal with some very difficult situations. It's easy and deep at the same timeTonglen (Tibetan: གཏོང་ལེན་, Wylie: gtong len, or tonglen[1]) is Tibetan for 'giving and taking' (or sending and receiving), and refers to a meditation practice found in Tibetan Buddhism. Lessons for the times of Coronavirus and Times of Changes from Holocaust Surviver Dr Edith Eva Eger

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 29, 2020 47:34

I am proud and also honoured to share with you today’s interview with Dr Edith Eve Eger. She is a Concentration Camp and Holocaust surviver who overcame all the obstacles and became a world renowned clinical psychologist and lecturer, helping individuals overcome their limitations, discover their powers, and achieve results they previously considered unattainable. She brings a message of healing and personal growth. A message of freedom from self imposed limitations. A message of CHOICE to move from recovery to discovery and beyond. Edith was born in Hungary in 1927. When the war began she was preparing to participate in Olympics as she was one of the best in gymnastics in her country. But due to her Jewish origin she was first expelled from the team and then at the age of 16, she, her elder sister Magda and parents were sent to Auschwitz on a cattle train.Upon arrival to the concentration camp her parents were immediately sent to gas chambers and she would never see them again. Edith and Magda miraculously survived all the deadly trial’s of the Nazi’s. And after all on the day when Allied troops have finally entered the concentration camp she was found in the pile of dead bodies barely alive, but still breathing. After war she got married, but as her husband was persecuted by Communists, they left everything and migrated to USA, where they had to begin everything from scratch once again. In 1969 she got her degree in Psychology and is still an active Therapist and Speaker. She wrote her first book at the age of 90. She has appeared on numerous television programs including CNN and the Oprah Winfrey Show.Just after my interview with her at the age of 92, she had a patient waiting for her. She is an incredible example of the Choice we all make every day: “our painful experiences are not a liability. They are a gift.”Learn more about Dr. Eger's work: https://bit.ly/3bzaCyXFOLLOW US ON INSTAGRAM: http://bit.ly/2MmjY9JFOLLOW US ON YOUTUBE: http://bit.ly/2RlUcCUSUBSCRIBE TO OUR PODCAST! How to eradicate anger and anxiety from your life forever?

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 29, 2019 14:22

We judge ourselves not by what we do, but by things that we had in mind or felt. And when we judge others we don’t take into account what they planned for. I doubt there are any really evil people in this world. I cannot imagine that your loved one would want to really harm you. We are humans. We are of the same kind and race, but nobody can read your mind or you…yourself…you will never 100% understand your father or mother or your kids. Maybe 95%. Maybe 70%. But in most cases, 40% is good enough for the average family that lives by standards they see around. We are the sum of all the experiences that we had and even if we spend all the time with someone, they wouldn’t be there with us when we were kids or in other early development instances. So the next time you notice that you are starting to get angry, ask yourself…is it really worth it? Has it ever helped? Isn’t it just better to share what you feel and ask what exactly your partner meant?I worked with many aspects of my life, I’ve seen thousands of people and hundreds of couples doing their best to become better and I know for sure that nothing in this world can make you as happy or as frustrated as your relationships. It’s also the best place for growth if you feel that you were born for happiness and evolution. That’s why among all the other things I consider myself to be a relationship mentor: because I dedicate every single day of my life to developing my connections: with my wife, my daughter, my family and other people I connect with. I don’t believe that anything else can both nurture you and bring joy as much.Contact us: info@happinesspatterns.comFind us on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/happinesspatterns/Rate and review us on iTunes:https://apple.co/2IrmXIQ

The power of Clarity: how I learnt the value of truth the hard way

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 23, 2019 15:55

Truth is Clarity.Truth is sometimes (or always painful), but it’s like cold air and cold water. It makes you feel fresh even when you are tired. Asking yourself questions is important. It allows you to keep yourself sober and not to wait until any circumstances appear. We all make mistakes, it’s human nature. That’s how we learn. But asking ourselves questions will help you deal with lesser consequences. I learnt in business: failing fast is good. It’s better to learn it quickly in relationships too because then you know that 10 years from now, after investing tons of energy into your loved one, you will not wake up to someone telling you something you didn’t expect. Because every time you had doubts you indicated, and you told your partner the truth. On the episode of Happiness Patterns where I talked to Dr.Laurie Mintz she shares that the best way to make sex better is to ask. Most women unfortunately lie about their orgazms, they fake…and the problem is that the longer it lasts, the harder it is to unveil to your partner…moreover the woman stays dissatisfied and the man is in mental illusion…but subconsciously he feels that too. And it’s painful. My mantra is: I need clarity…that simple…but stays me to stay fresh and alert in every area of my life.Contact us: info@happinesspatterns.comFind us on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/happinesspatterns/Rate and review us on iTunes:https://apple.co/2IrmXIQ
