In this special 15-minute edition of The Right Side, Doug Billings delivers a focused, powerful monologue on American strength, moral clarity, and national identity, following President Donald J. Trump's decisive Christmas Day strike against ISIS-linked terrorists. For years, America was told to apologize, hesitate, and retreat — even as evil went unanswered and Christians were persecuted abroad. That mindset has ended. This episode explores:Why strength, not speeches, deters evilThe return of moral clarity to American leadershipMedia silence on the persecution of ChristiansWhat America's approaching 250th anniversary representsWhy pride in America is not arrogance — it is responsibilityThis is not partisan outrage. It is a reminder of who America is — and why she has endured.America does not take days off from defending civilization. A nation that remembers its foundations can still lead.Stay on The Right Side

Yet Joel Roberts Poinsett was a more interesting organism than that plant given his name. He was a South Carolinian who spent years away from the state, and was a committed nationalist and anti-nullifier; a world traveller when few Americans were; a slaveowner who other slaveowners regarded as potentially anti-slavery; an international investor who also labored for South Carolina local improvements; a diplomat who spent years if not decades trying to find a way to be a soldier. Dr. Bodnar shows how people on all the various sides to national security debates used patriotism as a motivating factor for their positions. Divided by Terrorshows how patriotism and how it is to be practiced was contested and fought over as much as the policies that it inspired. Today's country music industry is deeply associated with a certain jingoistic ‘rally around the flag,' ‘support the troops' spirit. Thompson, author of Cold War Country: How Nashville's Music Row and the Pentagon Created the Sound of American Patriotism.Micah and Joseph discuss how hillbilly music transformed into the powerful country music industry, starting with a little assistance from the US military in the 1940s and 50s. Plus, how country music came to be linked to a certain type of American patriotism, and why some of country music's most famous jingoistic songs are more complex than many listeners think.  On the Media is supported by listeners like you. Tune in here to this Tuesday edition of the Brett Winterble Show! Brett kicks off the program by discussing what America stands for. America is the light of the world, standing for freedom and prosperity. This has been lost to many in the younger generation who have been lied to by politicians and college professors who point to the mistakes of our past and claim that America is an evil country. This narrative was rejected in the past election, where the American people chose freedom; we chose light over darkness. The American Dream is alive and well, but it requires hard work and sacrifice; freedom isn't free. During President Ronald Reagan's Inaugural Address, he said, "Freedom is a fragile thing and it's never more than a generation away from extinction." Never lose sight of what we stand for as Americans, never forget what those who have come before us sacrificed for what we have today. A Rebirth of American Patriotism w/ Jordan Buck | Ultrarunner for Team RWB's Old Glory Ultra Relay

Veteran Made

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 29, 2025 34:29

Patriotism in America is not a monolith — it's a battleground of identity, sacrifice, and service — and this episode of Veteran Made rips off the veneer of easy answers. Host Carey Kight and guest Jordan Buck, a former Army Cav Scout, refuse to let listeners coast on tired clichés. They confront the reality that waving a flag or wearing a uniform is not the sum total of service. For Buck, who never deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, the military was transformative, making him a better man. Yet, he's blunt: not every veteran's journey is the same, and not every act of service is recognized or understood. This episode demands that you stop measuring patriotism by a single yardstick. Service is not about the loudest display, but the quiet, relentless drive to give back in your own way, whether that's running an ultramarathon relay across the country or supporting your community at home. Listeners are challenged to interrogate their own assumptions about what it means to serve and what it means to be patriotic. Team RWB's Old Glory Ultra Relay, where Buck and his team will run the American flag from coast-to-coast, isn't just a spectacle; it's a living, grueling testament to American service. The episode lays bare the divisions and judgments that simmer beneath the surface — who “counts” as a real veteran, whose sacrifice is “enough” — and then torches them. If you think patriotism is simple, this episode will force you to reckon with its complexity. It's a call to action: understand that service is different for everyone, and true patriotism means honoring every path, every sacrifice, and every story, not just the ones that fit neatly into your idea of what America should be. Instead of investing in American workers, they're advocating for importing a massive influx of workers from India to replace us. This is not America First, and it's certainly not what the American people voted for on November 5th. The bankruptcy judge overseeing the liquidation of Infowars has halted the transfer of the company to the Onion due to suspicion of fraud in the auction. With the rise of Trump once again, and his almost unanimous selection of open zionists, not to mention the patriotic rise of Elon Musk, it is a healthy question to ponder: what if this is all a giant scam, a giant troll - if not literally, perhaps that is the image being created by the so-called Deep State? Those defending the selection of zionists have argued it's ‘better than the other side', though the other side is overrun by the same zionists. Heroes like Tulsi Gabbard may be legitimate but there is a chance she is indeed a Young Global Leader of the WEF, something also justified as being nothing more than her not knowing what she had been listed as being apart of - a similar argument used when Trump is caught in a tight spot. Those like Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk, selected to run a new agency called Office of Government Efficiency are peculiar figures: Vivek has called on Israel to commit total genocide against their enemies and Musk, who bought Twitter more than likely for the data, also likely knew, based on the data, who would win the election and therefore assigned with him in order to boost his corporate-government contracts and personal power. What if there were no bad guys or good guys, and that the whole narrative is nothing more than our own personal delusions, held to keep us sane when faced with unimaginable conspiracy and lies, or just the reality that maybe we don't matter at all. Now with Senator Katie Britt putting colleges on alert for restrictions on protest and speech, we are watching in real time as free speech, protest, publication, and religion, are under assault due to the creating a specially protected class that stands above all other Americans. They believe they are chosen, that they have a right to expand their reich, and that anyone in disagreement should be silenced or exterminated. -FULL ARCHIVE & RSS: https://www.spreaker.com/show/the-secret-teachings Twitter: https://twitter.com/TST___Radio Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thesecretteachings WEBSITE (BOOKS, RESUBSCRIBE for early & ad-free show access): http://thesecretteachings.info Paypal: rdgable@yahoo.com CashApp: $rdgable EMAIL: rdgable@yahoo.com / TSTRadio@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/tst-radio--5328407/support.

Radical leftists are bent on bringing America down and one strategy is to make displays of American patriotism offensive or taboo.  People are being shamed for displaying an American flag, but fortunately, more and more Americans are saying enough is enough. #BobbyEberle #AmericanPatriotism #EndWokeness

For decades, country music has had a close and special relationship to the U.S. military. In his new book, Cold War Country, historian Joseph Thompson shows how the leaders of Nashville's Music Row found ways to sell their listeners on military service, at the same time they sold country music to people in uniform.Shane Harris spoke with Thompson about how, as he puts it, Nashville and the Pentagon “created the sound of American patriotism.” Thompson's story spans decades and is filled with famous singers like Roy Acuff, Elvis Presley, Merle Haggard, and Lee Greenwood. Collectively, Thompson says, these artists helped to forge the close bonds between their genre and the military, but also helped to transform ideas of race, partisanship, and influenced the idea of what it means to be an American. Country music maintains a special, decades-long relationship to American military life, but these ties didn't just happen. This readable history reveals how country music's Nashville-based business leaders on Music Row created partnerships with the Pentagon to sell their audiences on military service while selling the music to service members. Beginning in the 1950s, the military flooded armed forces airwaves with the music, hosted tour dates at bases around the world, and drew on artists from Johnny Cash to Lee Greenwood to support recruitment programs.  Over the last half of the twentieth century, the close connections between the Defense Department and Music Row gave an economic boost to the white-dominated sounds of country while marginalizing Black artists and fueling divisions over the meaning of patriotism. This story is filled with familiar stars like Roy Acuff, Elvis Presley, and George Strait, as well as lesser-known figures: industry executives who worked the halls of Congress, country artists who dissented from the stereotypically patriotic trappings of the genre, and more.  In Cold War Country: How Nashville's Music Row and the Pentagon Created the Sound of American Patriotism (UNC Press, 2024), Joseph M. Thompson argues convincingly that the relationship between Music Row and the Pentagon helped shape not only the evolution of popular music but also race relations, partisanship, and images of the United States abroad.
