On this 23rd—but not 22nd or 24th—episode, Charles starts by taking on the preposterous idea that if one thinks that Donald Trump ought to have been impeached for what he did in 2021, the unrelated criminal case against him in New York must therefore be correct.Afterwards, Charles talks to Stanford's Lanhee Chen about whether California is salvageable, and then, on the Color Supplement, discusses the joy of half-dead cars with Luther Abel, who confirms that, in the Midwest, the quadratic spacing solution needs to be more viscous so that the cold weather doesn't contract the tetrafarseling or shimmy the wanglepins. The dial-up tone in the introduction was recorded by lintphishx and is used under a CC 3.0 License.
Everyone's Irish! Slainte to all of you, and to celebrate St. Patrick's Day we have three Pubs to bring you all the green beer, Irish-friendly menus, and fun on Food Farms & Chefs! We first hear from friend a of the show, McGillin's Olde Ale House and their amazing General Manager, Gabrielle Rubery. As one of the oldest pubs in the country, this local favorite has some fame of its own. McGillin's, which is the oldest pub in Philadelphia, has been in Owner Chris Mullins' family since 1958. It's so famous, that people travel from across the globe to dine and drink at McGillin's. On St. Patrick's Day the green beer is kept flowing, and don't be surprised if you find your future love when you visit. On top of all the festivities that happen throughout the year, McGillin's seems to offer good luck to people's love life...and has seen many couples pop the question in their pub.Speaking of festivities, we spoke with Dooney's Pub's Director of Operations, Ariane Bonnes to chat about how Jim and Mary Dooney started their restaurant & pub, as well as the menu, events, and how the couple gives back to their community. As for their menu, Dooney's offers seasonal cocktails, so look for their Spring drinks menu (out now), and since they are deeply rooted in all things Irish, look for some traditional items, like Bangers & Mash, Shepards Pie, and Guinness Beef Stew year-round.Lastly, we spoke with the Co-Owner of Cresson Inn, Tracy Harding and how he and his childhood friend re-established The Cresson Inn as a neighborhood pub in Manayunk. Originally founded during the prohibition era, the location started as an Inn before being turned into a shoe store with a booming speakeasy in the basement. Over the years the business changed hands (and purposes) within co-owners Sanders and Hardy's families before Tracy & his wife took over ownership. Now, Harding & Sanders are preparing to celebrate their One-Year Anniversary (on St. Patrick's Day), and joined us to let you know all the details!
This week the ladies are back together to unpack their summer. They also discuss cultural assimilation how much they have assimilated to British culture or not. How important is cultural assimilation to the success of minority communities and what are some of the pros and cons of assimilation?

Recorded: June 3, 2020 About the podcast Topic: Antlerboy and JP welcome the first-ever, all male and exclusively British guest roster. It's a veritible sausage fest, except its more like Bangers. Come give a listen as we mash it up (see what I did there?). The episode starts with Antlerboy not being his usual joyful self, some would say "hacked-off", "fed up", or just "down in the dumps". And it all come down to too... Too long stuck indoors, too much disruption to business, too long a hiatus from life, too much time to contemplate his failures, just too much of everything negative for too long. It would appear some people do not do well in a sensory deprivation chamber. Let's see if our guests can bring him out of the funk. Our first guest is Paul, who does not help Anterboy's state by predicting there will not be a second wave of COVID, but rather one long, extended wave. Thanks, Paul, Anterboy is headed for the window-sill. But Paul does go on to share that the antidote for companies is to either generate cash or preserve cash. We welcome back John who bellies up to the bar. John's remedy to it all is to live a life of sex, drugs, and rock-and-roll. Okay, John, you have our attention. But then John starts talking about being in the bath contemplating Maslow's heirarchy of needs and, in the middle of his mescaline-induced haze... NEXT.! As John stumbles aside, Andy snaps his fingers to place his order. We all know its rude to snap your fingers, but he's from Scotland. As we are taking his order, we ask how he is (just being polite, ya' know), and he tells us he is "outstandingly mediocre". Apparently, he is upset that he won't be taking a holiday anytime soon. Finally, a breath of fresh air walks into the Inn. And right behind them is Peter. But Peter has actually been having a pretty good go of things lately. Work is going well and his Mrs Peter is having him do a bit of gardening. Most important, he has had time to poodle about and contemplate life, what is important to him and what is not, and what he might do in retirement. By the time last call is shouted out, the mission has been accomplished. Antlerboy is definitely in finer spirits. A really fine, if sometimes dour and esoteric evening, at The Outliers Inn. We are sure you will enjoy giving a listen-in. Hosts: Joseph Paris, Founder of the OpEx Society & The XONITEK Group of Companies Benjamin Taylor, Managing Partner of RedQuadrant.
In this debut episode, the hosts reminisce about when they first felt they belonged to more than one culture, the blessings and burdens that came with it and how fast food in Arab countries just hit different. John has a vision....
This week our cousins from across the pond give us a LOT to talk about. They're just like us anyway . . . only they don't call it "sausage".Hi guys,Thought I would drop you a line after your recent discussion about the London 2012 coverage or your lack of ;)Over here in Jolly old England we have got pretty much every base covered. The BBC always provides coverage for any Olympics as well as the majority of big events of similar stature. We have 4 BBC channels here in the UK, of which 2 are providing coverage live through the whole day. At points they may even get a third channel also providing coverage. As well as the channels, BBC provides an interactive service where they broadcast every event live and you can choose to watch whatever you want. This is easily accessible (you just press the red button on your remote) and is easy to navigate. It also provides the full schedule for the events. On the BBC's on demand service you can also choose to watch some of the shows after the fact. All sports are provided with commentary on each service, and what's more the commentators are all sports personalities themselves. And for the majority they mainly only appear on sports they have been associated with. So having these types of people calling the shots they are providing much more insight than Joe Bloggs could.I found it interesting when you said about commentators repeating themselves to get on the highlight reel. This is something that doesn't happen over here. The commentary is only repeated if they are later showing highlights or repeating the event. If highlights are being shown on the news or other shows most of the time the clips are shown with no commentary.Between events they do provide interviews but only ever with the athletes, previous athletes or experts. No random celebrities here for the most part. Our coverage is vary fair, if their is an event where we have one of our big athletes competing it will be broadcast on BBC one. But other than this all events no matter what country is competing is given an equal amount of love and attention. This treatment isn't something specific to the London Olympics as this level of coverage was exactly the same at the previous Olympics as well as the winter Olympics, which we are absolutely crap at.Hope this helps answer some of your questions.Keep up the fantastic work.Much LoveWayneHeadlines:Curiosity Rover LandingCuriosity lands on a DMCA TakedownEmbedding is not copyright infringement.
