With St Patrick's Day behind us, there are many who do not know the story behind why we have this holiday. Some think it is for the Green Beer and the Irish Stew, but there is a great story of how St. Patrick's Day began. You will be enlightened if you haven't heard this true story before.
Recorded on St. Patrick's day from the Palm Street Studio, without internet. Adam has gears to grind and a poorly shaven chest. A run in with the law, bad information from Facebook, cabbage and corned beef is elusive apparently. A near death scare in front of an Italian restaurant but its not gangster at all. Junior goes hairless? The crew is getting a little tipsy and about to gorge on smoked corned beef! Where in the world is Glenn McNary?
Join Opie and Ron the Waiter for a wild St. Patrick's Day live stream, broadcast straight from the stormy shores of Long Island! Battling huge waves and cinder block skates, Opie shares tales of spring break shenanigans, while Ron dives into his kibbutz adventures and green beer memories from Boston. The duo tackles everything from piping plovers to climate change, and even unravels conspiracy theories about alien bases on the moon. Expect laughs, rants, and a touch of chaos as they sip coffee and dodge the rain—don’t miss this rollercoaster of a podcast! Hit the like button and follow Ron at Ron Berman Comedy on socials. Kid A.G. and El Pres drag you back to the days when you'd sniff a chick's stench so rancid it'd knock a buzzard off a shit wagon—then crave it like a triple-stack burger with extra mayo after age 18. El Pres is out here, practically dry-humping the mic, screaming about hauling his kid to the condom aisle: “Here's the glow-in-the-dark rubber, you little bastard—don't knock up your future!” Meanwhile, Kid A.G.'s howling about vibrating cock rings—those Lover's Lane freaky-deaky specials where you rip the bullet vibe out and shove it up your nose just to see if it'll buzz your brain. March crashes in like a horny freight train, and these two psychos are plotting St. Paddy's blackout binges and Hooters' $19.99 wing orgies—fuck the Wall Street Journal's “white men whining” sob story, Kid A.G.'s confused about Hunter Schafer's rack (plot twist: it's a dick in disguise!). Then some idiot double-dips a mom AND her daughter—bam, two wombs, one wang! It's a shitstorm of freedom, threesomes and bar pals. Listen in. Go Deep.
It's St Patrick's Day - at least it was in March, so just in time for next year, Larko presents a musical option for the non-Irish. Jackas talks us through a great option for getting around the city whilst seeking thrills.

In this episode, you'll learn: How healthy distractions can help you overcome addictions The best NA alternatives The science behind hangovers and Chris's hangover prevention tip How to Green Light your team Happy (day after) Saint Patty's Day! Well, depending on how you celebrate, you may be feeling more hungover than happy… The St. Patrick's Day tradition began as a feast held in remembrance of St. Patrick on the anniversary of his death, March 17th. However, this day fell within the Christian tradition of Lent, but to honor the patron saint of Ireland, they were permitted to forgo their Lenten restrictions on food and alcohol consumption on this day, which has caused excessive drinking to become permanently linked to the celebration. Some people can drink with no issues, but many others have a little voice in the back of their minds saying, “Maybe it's time for something to change.” Today, Chris and Mathew are joined by Janay Oakland and Abbie Boudreau, co-founders of Teetotally Lifestyle, to empower you to listen to that voice and give you some tools that can make your journey into sobriety or mindful drinking a little easier. Teetotally Lifestyle is a modern lifestyle choice for people who are mindful drinkers like Janay and Chris, fully sober like Abbie and Mathew, or sober curious like you may be. Abbie and Janay both open up about what their relationships with alcohol were like before, why they made a change, and what their lives are like now. In this episode, we get real about why so many people feel like they have to drink, healthy replacements and distractions to help you stay on track, and how to handle social situations dominated by alcohol. Chris outlines why alcohol makes you pee so often as well as the short- and long-term impacts drinking has on our bodies. He also helps us understand the science behind what causes hangovers and gives us great advice on how to avoid them. Once we are done talking about the green beer, Mathew gives us a crash course on how to green light your group, whether that's a sports team, a group of friends, a family, or coworkers. It's all about executing the fundamentals flawlessly, being there for each other, communicating nonstop, and unemotionally holding each other accountable. To wrap up, we talk about our “never again” drinks, and we hear how Kiwi Strawberry Snapple got Chris arrested on prom night. Thanks for watching episode 15! We are in the Drink In and Dublin Bar Academy Building for Saint Patrick's Day 2024! Our first guest has accomplished a lot since he began working as a glass collector in his hometown of Belfast, Ireland. Jack McGarry began his career in Ireland and worked his way to a pub in London, eventually crossing the ocean to open the Dead Rabbit in New York. Since then, McGarry's desire to create Pubs that elevate the 'Irish pub experience' has found its place, along with numerous well-earned awards celebrating 'The Best Bar in the World.' How does he do it? By crafting an intriguing selection of menu items along with an experience that showcases Irish culture, history, and customs. However, the Dead Rabbit is not this entrepreneur's only accomplishment-but you'll have to tune in to find out more about Jack, what he's accomplished, and what to look forward to during the Dead Rabbit's "It's Paddy's Day NOT Patty's Day" events! This week is looking up, especially for anyone celebrating St. Patrick's at Dooney's Pub in Delran and Voorhees New Jersey! Dooney's Director of Operations, Ariane Bonnes, joined us to announce their annual Kegs and Eggs in Delran, along with their other popular menu items that are fan favorites each year. On top of that, visitors can look forward to live music at both locations, dancers, bagpipers, and green beer to amplify the fun! In addition to their weekend-long celebrations, you can keep the celebrations going with their month-long cocktail and menu specials. But don't take it from us--turn your dials to Food Farms and Chefs to hear more about what you can look forward to from Dooney's Pub! Our final guest is bringing the band back together again, and we couldn't be more excited to have him on! Ray Sheehan, who is an expert on all things Barbeque, shared his journey as a chef, author, contributing writer, and guest host for Baseball and BBQ Podcast. After what has happened since we last spoke with him, we further discussed the importance of mental health in the culinary industry and the ability to adjust and think on your feet. Which led to a huge announcement, that you'll hear first on our show! Ray joined us to announce some exciting news for the first time on our show! But we don't want to spoil the surprise, so tune in to hear from Chef Sheehan and what you can look forward to in the very near future!
A man steals a flask of liquid luck from a leprechaun, which ends up making its way into some beer, turning it green. Drinking the green beer gives you temporary good luck. When a group of friends discovers this, one of them heads to a casino to put his good luck to use. What they don't yet know is there's a price to pay: When the good luck runs out, the pendulum swings in the other direction causing you an equal amount of bad luck.References and TranscriptSubscribe to the show:Apple PodcastsSpotifyRSSConnect with us:FacebookInstagramDiscord

Should African Americans Celebrate St. Patrick's Day? Do you know what you are Celebrating? Part 1 with Michael Imhotep host of ‘The African History Network Show – 3-19-23 (WATCH VIDEO)https://youtube.com/live/30d4LpZ2ueY March 17th, 2023 better known as St. Patrick's Day. One of the strangest things you will see is African Americans participating in this “celebration”. Do you really know what you are celebrating? Have you studied the history of St. Patrick's Day? Even if you claim that you have Irish Ancestry do you really know what you are celebrating? Did you know that Patrick was not Irish he was British? Saint Patrick was a fifth-century Romano-British Christian missionary and bishop in Ireland. Known as the "Apostle of Ireland", he is the primary patron saint of Ireland. Saint Patrick brought Christianity to Ireland and is credited with driving all the snakes (Pagans) from the island. He died sometime around 480AD on March 17 and now we celebrate him and all things Irish for Saint Patricks Day every year! So sit back, crack open a Guiness and join us as we talk about the Patron Saint of Green Beer and Pub Crawls, Saint Patrick! Thanks For Watching! Everyone's Irish! Slainte to all of you, and to celebrate St. Patrick's Day we have three Pubs to bring you all the green beer, Irish-friendly menus, and fun on Food Farms & Chefs! We first hear from friend a of the show, McGillin's Olde Ale House and their amazing General Manager, Gabrielle Rubery. As one of the oldest pubs in the country, this local favorite has some fame of its own. McGillin's, which is the oldest pub in Philadelphia, has been in Owner Chris Mullins' family since 1958. It's so famous, that people travel from across the globe to dine and drink at McGillin's. On St. Patrick's Day the green beer is kept flowing, and don't be surprised if you find your future love when you visit. On top of all the festivities that happen throughout the year, McGillin's seems to offer good luck to people's love life...and has seen many couples pop the question in their pub.Speaking of festivities, we spoke with Dooney's Pub's Director of Operations, Ariane Bonnes to chat about how Jim and Mary Dooney started their restaurant & pub, as well as the menu, events, and how the couple gives back to their community. As for their menu, Dooney's offers seasonal cocktails, so look for their Spring drinks menu (out now), and since they are deeply rooted in all things Irish, look for some traditional items, like Bangers & Mash, Shepards Pie, and Guinness Beef Stew year-round.Lastly, we spoke with the Co-Owner of Cresson Inn, Tracy Harding and how he and his childhood friend re-established The Cresson Inn as a neighborhood pub in Manayunk. Originally founded during the prohibition era, the location started as an Inn before being turned into a shoe store with a booming speakeasy in the basement. Over the years the business changed hands (and purposes) within co-owners Sanders and Hardy's families before Tracy & his wife took over ownership. Now, Harding & Sanders are preparing to celebrate their One-Year Anniversary (on St. Patrick's Day), and joined us to let you know all the details!

In this episode you'll learn what's happening on the ground in Philadelphia as our very own Pádraig Fox gives us a view on what the city of brotherly love has to offer the (not so) discerning drinker.Foxy goes from co-host to guest again this week. He has previously reported on the drinking culture and trends in Kazakhstan but this time he's in the US of A, in a city new to him but familiar to many through film, TV and song. Foxy gives his views on how to navigate the 4 types of bar in Philly: Irish, Belgian, Celebrity and Dive. He also contrasts European and US drinks trends, remarks on the lack of St. Patricks Day themed Green Beer and ponders why It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia lied to him... On our Desert Island, Ed Kentish Barnes, MD of Steiner Hops UK, makes best use of his experience as a Master Brewer, distiller and hop expert to choose a drink but his choice of vessel is as quirky as it is quintessentially English.Support the showFor more high-lights and low-downs follow @BizBevPod on Twitter or LinkedInBusiness of Beverages is self-funded and hosted/ edited/produced by Will Keating.Pádraig Fox co-hosts in a strictly personal capacity. All opinions are those of the person expressing them at all times. Graham and Steve with another episode from the archives - St. Patrick's Day, 2021.The church hasn't taught people to suffer well, but the stage is set for the enemy to teach that lesson at scale for American's after years of schooling the rest of the world. By God's grace, the topics discussed a year ago are still relevant. It's time to shake off the dust and step forward - the reality of what's happening will never leave but neither will the reality of why God brought you here, now, to play a role. Ivan calls us about a girl named Margot he went out for drinks with after meeting on Hinge. Ivan says that the date couldn't have been more fun — it just so happened they both had the night off on St. Patrick's Day so their date was a bit more festive and energetic. Ivan says that they hung out for hours... talking, laughing and drinking, eventually going back to her place. He thought she was really into him, she did invite him over after all. He says that they were both pretty drunk so they didn't hook up, just kissed a little. He's really confused because he's not sure how things could have gone so good to just end up like this. (Originally aired on 102.7 Da Bomb on March 31st, 2022)
