Dans ce nouvel épisode de Bouchées Doubles, Armelle reçoit Thomas Chisholm.Thomas Chisholm est un jeune chef franco-américain qui a grandi à Brooklyn avant d'arriver en France à l'âge de 14 ans. Il a fait ses armes dans des restaurants gastronomiques de renom avant de participer à la saison 12 de Top Chef. Il est aujourd'hui chef et propriétaire de son restaurant, Chocho, à Paris.Dans cet épisode, Thomas nous parle d'abord de son parcours, de son arrivée en France à sa participation à Top Chef. Il prend le temps de revenir sur ses différentes expériences de Nîmes à Paris, dans des établissements très différents les uns des autres. Ces expériences lui ont permis de construire son identité et de s'affirmer en tant que chef.Nous revenons ensuite sur son enfance passée à New-York entre Chinatown, la cuisine de sa tante italienne ou encore Clinton Hill, un quartier de New-York aux influences africaines. Thomas nous explique comment cette diversité de cultures dans laquelle il a grandi influence aujourd'hui sa cuisine. La magnifique clarinette de Timothé Renard nous envoûte dès le premier titre "Ne Feypal Mwan" sur une composition de Léo Danais, batteur du groupe, avec Arthur Guyard au piano et Camille Heim à la harpe électro-Llanera, qui apporte évidemment un son particulier à l'ensemble, croisement de sonorités latines, d'électro et de trip-hop." Kukučínov krátky životopis sme si prešli v predchádzajúcej časti Keď báčik z Chochoľova umrie. Ak ste ju ešte nepočuli a chceli by ste sa o tomto velikánovi slovenskej realistickej prózy dozvedieť viac, určite vám odporúčame pustiť si ju. Dnes sa budeme venovať len Kukučínovmu spoločenskému románu Dom v stráni. Dej sa odohráva v Chorvátsku, kde Kukučín strávil veľkú časť života. Konkrétne v Dalmácii, na ostrove Brač, kde pôsobil ako lekár. V diele sa nachádza mnoho opisov chorvátskej kultúry, občas zakopnete aj o nejaké to chorvátske slovo, ako napríklad težak, čo znamená sedliak. Veľmi dôležitá poznámka! Čo sa týka kompozície, román vyšiel v dvoch zväzkoch a tvorí ho osemnásť kapitol. Významnú úlohu hrá v diele aj striedanie ročných období, ktorým autor zdôrazňuje kolobeh života. Martin Kukučín, vlastným menom Matej Bencúr, sa narodil v roku 1860 v Jasenovej v Dolnom Kubíne. Povolaním bol lekár, do histórie sa však zapísal ako prozaik, dramatik, predstaviteľ realizmu a zakladateľ modernej slovenskej prózy. Narodil sa do sedliackej rodiny, mal dvoch bratov a jednu sestru. Základné vzdelanie získal na evanjelickom gymnáziu v Banskej Bystrici, v Revúcej a v Martine, potom sa vrátil domov a pracoval ako učiteľ. Rýchlo však zistil, že sa v živote potrebuje pohnúť ďalej a odišiel študovať medicínu do Prahy, kde sa stal členom slovenského kultúrneho spolku Detvan. Čiže i napriek tomu, že si vybral cestu lekára, sa umeniu neodcudzil, skôr naopak. Zúčastňoval sa rôznych diskusií o literatúre a realizme a v akademickom prostredí sa dostal do kontaktu s vtedajšími myšlienkovými smermi, ako napríklad darwinizmus a pozitivizmus, ktoré sme si už v našich podcastoch spomínali. Filozofiu z týchto myšlienkových smerov, uplatňoval aj vo vlastnej tvorbe. Poďme sa spoločne pozrieť na jeho známe dielo Keď báčik z Chochoľova umrie. Construction of the Swedish Stirling plant that converts off-gas to electricity will take place at the Lion ferrochrome smelter near Steelport starting in the second half of this year, Merafe Resources CEO Zanele Matlala said on Tuesday, when the ferrochrome company announced a dividend-yielding profit of R925-million for the six months to June 30. Merafe, which shares 20.5% of the earnings generated from the Glencore-Merafe Chrome Venture, is also at an advanced stage of considering on-site and off-site renewable energy solar and wind projects. Preferred power suppliers for the off-site plants have been identified, Matlala disclosed during the Johannesburg Stock Exchange-listed company's presentation of 68%-higher half-year earnings of R1 373-million. In response to Mining Weekly, Glencore Alloys CEO Japie Fullard described the venture's renewable energy strategy as being “well in hand”. “We've started with our cogeneration project at the Lion Complex with Swedish Stirling. That first block will be delivered within the next month,” said Fullard, with projects being looked at including battery storage technology. “We're busy with prefeasibility studies on quite a few behind-the-meter projects,” he said. These on-site projects will typically be photovoltaic (PV). “We're also considering starting some capacity at some operations, and also on the eastern side, close to the chrome mines. “Then if you look at our off-site projects, we've signed deals to take the off-site projects to feasibility stage,” he said. Making up the estimated combined total 744 MW are: 184 MW of off-site PV installation, for which permission has been granted to proceed to bankable feasibility, plus another off-site 300 MW, split equally between wind and solar at 150 MW each, being under consideration; 200 MW of on-site behind-the-meter PV projects, with a prefeasibility study under way in the Wonderboom smelter complex area; 50 MW under consideration for the Eastern Chrome Mines area; and 10 MW of cogeneration at the Lion smelter. CASH ON HAND Merafe FD Ditabe Chocho reported that improved earnings had boosted the company's cash position. “We started 2022 with a combined cash balance of R972-million. Net cash from operating activities increased the cash balance by R748-million,” said Chocho. Cash was used to fund half-year capital expenditure of R155-million as well as the 2021 final dividend of R549-million. The closing cash balance of the ungeared company was R1-billion, which includes Merafe's own cash as well as its share of cash held by the venture. Ninety per cent of the ferrochrome produced is used in stainless steel and speciality steels, with global stainless steel production in 2021 increasing from 51.5-million tonnes in 2020 to 58.9-million tonnes. ONE-YEAR PGM PAY BACK Capital of R44-million has been spent to date on the platinum group metals (PGMs) plant at the Kroondal mine, with R11-million more to come. PGM concentrate is sold to customers with smelting capacity and pay back is expected within one year. The PGM plant's main operations are the treatment of chrome waste material arising from the venture's mining operations and tailings facilities at Western Chrome mines. The plant has the capacity to treat 21 000 t of PGM-bearing material a month.

The focus of ferrochrome company Merafe Resources in 2022 will be on renewable energy projects, along with efficient operations, cash preservation and well-ordered capital allocation, CEO Zanele Matlala said on Tuesday. The year 2021 has been one of spectacular recovery for the Glencore Merafe Pooling and Sharing Venture. In announcing its highest profit after tax since the formation of the venture in 2004, the JSE-listed Merafe provided new insight into the PGMs-from-chrome-tailings project at the Kroondal mine, and also outlined three distinct areas of green energy development involving: the conversion of on-site offgas from the venture's smelters into clean electricity; on-site 'behind-the-meter' solar and wind projects capable of generating 150 MW of green electricity; and the evaluation of quotations for the phased execution of up to 800 MW of virtual wind and solar power purchase agreements. China continued to dominate stainless steel production, accounting for about 57% of global output. Ferrochrome demand in 2021 mirrored global stainless steel production, with Indonesia slightly decreasing China's dominant share of global output. World ferrochrome production increased by 15% to 14.4-million tonnes, with most of the production growth coming from South Africa (32%) and India (30%). Chrome ore imports into China increased by 5% to 15-million tonnes, with South Africa making up 80% of the chrome ore sold into China. The average ferrochrome prices received in 2021 were around $1.08/lb compared with $0.72/lb in 2020. Chrome ore prices, on the other hand, only increased modestly, with upper group two prices averaging about $140/t, compared with $129/t in 2020. Merafe FD Ditabe Chocho reported a 75% year-on-year increase in ferrochrome revenue and a 33% increase in chrome-ore revenue. “We also accounted for small revenue arising from PGMs concentrate sold from December 2021,” said Chocho. The processing plant being built to recover PGMs from chrome waste has a capacity of 21 000 t a month. To date, R32-million has been spent on developing it and a further R23-million is due to be spent this year to take the plant to completion. The PGMs concentrate it produces is being sold to PGMs customers that have smelting capacity. “We believe the PGMs plant will be fully commissioned in quarter two. We've started to treat material and we are seeing benefits from that,” said Glencore Alloys CEO Japie Fullard, who declined to give the grade of PGMs produced. “We do have an offtake. You will understand that the chrome content in the PGMs concentrate is fairly important and we do have an agreement with a PGMs producer that we are selling that product into the market,” he added. Chocho reported that the financial return on the PGMs project would be sufficiently higher than Merafe's weighted average cost of capital of 11.4% after tax, with a four-year payback based on current pricing assumptions. DECARBONISATION IMPORTANT Fullard described the reduction of Scope 2 emissions specifically as being “very important”. Agreements had already been signed with suppliers for the conversion of on-site offgas into electricity, Fullard said in response to Integrated Managed Investments portfolio manager Leo Altini. With pilot circuits being run, the operation was well on its way to achieving the best efficiencies in the turning of carbon dioxide to electricity. “That's the first focus area for us and there's a lot of work we're doing there,” said Fullard during the question session covered by Mining Weekly. Capital investment in the second behind-the-meter solar and wind project greening area would commence within the next year, and quotations were being evaluated for the various virtual power purchase agreement contracts, for which multiple financial instruments were under consideration. El helicobacter pylori es una bacteria que tiene forma de espiral y crece en la capa mucosa que recubre el interior del estómago, este es el causante principal de la gastritis crónica y de la ulcera. Y si te preguntas cómo sobrevive esta bacteria a los ácidos del estómago, pues resulta que esta bacteria secreta una enzima llamada ureasa la cual convierte la urea química en amoniaco. La producción de este amoniaco al derredor de h. pylori neutraliza la acidez del estómago, para hacerlo más agradable para la bacteria, debido a su forma espiral le es más fácil penetrar la capa mucosa, la cual es menos acida que el espacio interior del estómago. Una de las maneras de adquirir esta bacteria es en la infancia de persona a persona y en los países menos desarrollados la vía de contagio es fundamentalmente la fecaoral, quizá en algunos casos a través de agua contaminada por las heces. Hay diferentes maneras de hacer la prueba para detectar h. pylori, estos pueden ser haciéndose análisis de sangre, heces o aliento. Es por eso que es de suma importancia lavarse las manos antes de comer y después de ir al baño, así como verificar si es que come uno en la calle la limpieza del lugar. Después de muchos estudios la oficina internacional de investigación de cáncer, clasifico a la bacteria h. pylori como carcinógena, o causante de cáncer. Es por esto que resulta de suma importancia detectarla a tiempo y combatirla ya que el cáncer gástrico es la segunda causa más común de muerte relacionadas por cáncer en el mundo.

Las piernas arqueadas (tambien conocidas como genu varum), o coloquialmente nombradas como piernas charras, es es una afeccion en la que las rodillas permanecen ampliamente separadas, cuando la persona se para con los pies y tobillos juntos. Empecemos haciendo un parentesis importante, este tipo de padecimiento se puede observar en niños de hasta de 18 meses y es considerada como normal, ya que es parte del proceso de maduracion en el bebe, pero si despues de los 3 años esta condicion perisiste, se dice que el niño es patizambo, y de ser asi es necesario acudir a un medico. En muy pocas ocasiones se trata de una afeccion grave y suele desaparecer, pero las piernas arqueadas podrian estarnos avisando que tenemos algun otro tipo de enfermedad como: -desarrollo oseo anormal -enfermedad de blount, esta condicion esta relacionada con niños con sobre peso, herencia o niños que empezaron a caminar a temprana edad. -fracturas que no sanan correctamente -intoxicacion por plomo o floruro -raquitismo Las piernas arqueadas fisiologicamente no requieren ningun tipo de tratamiento, normalmente se corrigen en la medida que el niño va creciendo. En la mayoria de los casos, este padecimiento no causa dolor, pero en la adolescencia la persistencia de las piernas arqueadas puede ocasionar molestias en la cadera, rodillas y o en los tobillos por el estrés anormal que las curvas provocan sobre estas articulaciones . Es importante llevar a su hijo con el pediatra , o en caso de ver alguna señal mas clara de tener esta condicion acudir a un especialista desde una edad temprana para verificar que todo este en orden, en este caso un ortopedista pediatra, seria el especialista indicado para tratar este problema.
