Born in Detroit, Michigan, she later moved to Houston, Texas, where she began performing before moving to Minneapolis, where she began her recording career in hip hop music. Prior to signing with Nice Life and Atlantic Records, Lizzo released two studio albums—Lizzobangers (2013) and Big Grrrl Small World (2015). Lizzo's first major-label EP, Coconut Oil, was released in 2016.Lizzo attained mainstream success with the release of her third studio album, Cuz I Love You (2019), which peaked inside the top five of the US Billboard 200. The album spawned the singles "Juice" and "Tempo". The deluxe version of the album included Lizzo's 2017 single "Truth Hurts", which became a viral sleeper hit, two years after its initial release. It topped the US Billboard Hot 100, and became the longest-leading solo song by a female rapper. Around this time, her 2016 single "Good as Hell" also climbed the charts, reaching the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 and UK Singles Chart. Lizzo received eight nominations at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards, the most for any artist that year, including nominations for each of the "Big Four" categories; and eventually won the awards for Best Urban Contemporary Album, Best Pop Solo Performance for "Truth Hurts", and Best Traditional R&B Performance for the song "Jerome".In 2021, Lizzo released the single "Rumors" featuring Cardi B, which debuted in the top five of the Billboard Hot 100. Furthermore, she is the host of the Amazon Prime Video reality television series Lizzo's Watch Out for the Big Grrrls. Lizzo has plenty of reasons to dance her pants off. The singer, rapper and flute aficionado received eight Grammy nominations off her third album Cuz I Love You, and landed herself on TIME's list as the 2019 Entertainer of the Year. Nowadays she's got sponsorship deals coming out her rear end with her song being used in Walmart commercials and another for Grub Hub. She has also become the brand ambassador for Absolute Vodkas and their new line of juice flavors. She's even become a fashion icon having posed for magazines and a meme queen with a recent trip to the American Music Awards sporting a miniature purse going viral with millions and millions of recreations of her iconic look. Due to her newfound success, she's been able to treat herself to the finer things in life like bottles on bottles of champagne, an endless amount of Cheetos, trips to Disney land, and even bathing in a tub of milk just cause she feels like it. At the time of this recording, Lizzo is sitting on a net worth of $10 Million dollars. Not bad, and it's a huge come-up from the $3 Million she was reportedly raking in just a couple of months ago. This is largely due to her increased popularity and all the opportunities that come with it.

Together with American Songwriter, we had the pleasure of interviewing Sam Nelson Harris of X Ambassadors over Zoom video! X Ambassadors premiered “skip.that.party,” a collaboration between multi-platinum-selling rock band X Ambassadors and Los Angeles-bred singer/songwriter Jensen McRae. The moody and mesmerizing track is the latest release from X Ambassadors’ (Eg) — a recently launched multi-part project featuring collaborations with an eclectic mix of emerging artists. “skip.that.party” by X Ambassadors with Jensen McRae is available now at all digital retailers via KIDinaKORNER/Interscope Records.A detailed meditation on longing and regret, “skip.that.party” spotlights the sensitive yet incisive songwriting that McRae’s previously shown on tracks like her unforgettable 2020 single “Wolves.” As she and X Ambassadors lead singer Sam Nelson Harris trade off vocals, “skip.that.party” takes on an undeniable and immersive power, sharply contrasting its understated beauty. As with all of the artists featured on (Eg), X Ambassadors approached McRae out of deep admiration for her one-of-a-kind artistry. “My wife showed me ‘Wolves,’ and I was immediately devastated by how good it is,” says Harris. “I hit Jensen up on Instagram and asked if we could write together, and everything took off from there. It blows my mind that more people don’t know about her or any of the other artists on the project, and I’m so excited to share their music with our fans.”“skip.that.party” arrives as the follow-up to “ultraviolet.tragedies” by X Ambassadors with Terrell Hines, the euphoric yet explosive lead single from (Eg). Also featuring a collaboration with Earl St. Clair, (Eg) is a natural progression for the hyper-creative band, whose output includes producing and writing for global superstars like Rihanna and working extensively with Lizzo on her massively successful 2019 album Cuz I Love You (including co-writing and producing tracks like “Jerome,” winner of Best Traditional R&B Performance at the 62nd Annual GRAMMY® Awards).Like “ultraviolet.tragedies,” “skip.that.party” is accompanied by a documentary-style visual that breaks convention by integrating elements of commentary and off-the-cuff conversation. To that end, the “skip.that.party” video finds Harris and McRae remotely discussing such topics as poetic realism, the struggle for presence in chaotic times, and McRae’s experience growing up caught between the wild glamour of Los Angeles and the utter boredom of the suburbs.(Eg) came to life as X Ambassadors completed their third full-length effort, due out later this year. According to Harris, the project has already had an indelible impact on their evolution as creators. “All the artists we’ve worked with on (Eg) have reminded me how important it is to make what you love and not think twice about it,” he says. “When people hear the project, I hope they come away with that same sense of freedom, and also just feel the pure joy that comes from the art of collaboration.”ABOUT X AMBASSADORSX Ambassadors made their full-length debut with VHS, a 2015 release that saw the band transition from Ithaca alt-rockers and Brooklyn-indie-scene outsiders to Billboard stalwarts. Now certified platinum, VHS provided an intimate look at Sam Nelson Harris and his brother Casey Harris’s youth, delivering the genre-defying hits “Unsteady” and “Renegades” and leading to a three-year global touring odyssey as well as a string of high-profile festival performances. VHS was followed by X Ambassadors’ 2019 sophomore album ORION, which they supported with an extensive headline tour of the U.S. A project inspired by ’60s and ’70s soul and R&B, the band’s Belong EP arrived in March 202We want to hear from you! Она победила в 5 категориях - Запись года (песня "Bad Guy"), Альбом года ("When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?"), Лучший новый артист, Песня года (вновь "Bad Guy") и Лучший вокальный поп-альбом ("When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?"). Combining her roots in Houston rap, gospel soul, and classical flute as confidently as she addresses issues of race, sexuality, and body positivity, singer/rapper Lizzo's music abounds with humor and charisma. Her 2013 debut, Lizzobangers, reflected her years in Minneapolis' hip-hop and indie music scenes (Doomtree's Lazerbeak was one of its producers), and as time went on, her style became more wide-ranging and melodic. On 2015's self-released Big Grrrl Small World, she added more R&B and gospel to her sound, a trend that continued on her brash major-label debut and breakthrough album, 2019's Cuz I Love You.

I want y’all to understand that I have NO ISSUE with Lizzo. I have an issue of this generation trying to be gatekeepers for the WRONG reasons!!! Lizzo’s Cuz I Love You album is NOT R&B Soul, but her label has it being placed in many categories. Can we respect the others who work hard in their genres? Blame it on the juice because Ben and Jesse take a venture into a genre not often talked about by them as they glide through Lizzo's 2019 release Cuz I Love You. You'll hear each track analyzed in it's entirety from the perspective of two massively uncool white guys as well as discussion about Ben's trip to Mexico for a wedding, dancing at weddings and discussion about whether "Purple Rain" by Prince is a slow dance song or not.
