''Do You Trost The Father Son And The Holy Spirit...''-Dan beck
Step behind the curtain of the music industry and into the high-stakes world of one of pop's most fascinating eras. In this episode, Sandy Kaye explores the remarkable story of Dan Beck — the music executive who worked closely with Michael Jackson during a pivotal and turbulent time in his career.Dan Beck wasn't just another record label executive. As a senior figure at Epic Records, he became Michael Jackson's key marketing and product manager in the early 1990s, placing him right at the centre of one of the most complex and pressured periods in pop history. From the release of Dangerous through to the ambitious HIStory project, Beck was deeply involved in shaping how Jackson was presented to the world. In this fascinating conversation, we unpack what it was really like behind the scenes — not the headlines, not the myths, but the day-to-day reality of working with the biggest star on the planet.Dan shares insights into:The intense pressure of managing a global superstar's imageThe strategy behind launching major albums in the pre-streaming eraThe challenges of navigating controversy while protecting an artist's legacyWhat Michael Jackson was really like in a working environmentAt the heart of this episode is Dan Beck's compelling new book, You've Got Michael: Living Through HIStory. This isn't a traditional biography — it's a front-row account of the business, the chaos, and the creativity behind one of the most important chapters in Michael Jackson's career. The book dives deep into:The making and marketing of the HIStory albumThe inner workings of a major record label in the '90sThe delicate balance between artistry, commerce, and public perceptionA more personal, human side of Michael Jackson rarely seen in the mediaWhat makes Beck's story so unique is his vantage point. He wasn't on stage — he was in the boardrooms, the planning meetings, and the late-night strategy sessions where decisions were made that would shape global pop culture. This episode offers a rare look at:How a superstar brand is built — and rebuiltThe machinery behind massive album campaigns before the digital ageThe relationship between artist and labelThe realities of fame, pressure, and reinventionWhether you're a lifelong Michael Jackson fan, a music history enthusiast, or simply curious about how the industry really works, this episode delivers a rich, insightful, and revealing perspective you won't hear anywhere else.

Building our lives on a solid...correct foundation: God, Christ, The Word of God, Christian virtues etc.
In 1991, Dan Beck became Michael Jackson's main marketing contact at Epic Records. For five rollercoaster years, he was immersed in a world of unequalled stardom, dealing with the outsized ambition, whims and idiosyncrasies of the world's most famous entertainer. It was a pivotal point in Jackson's career. His last album had failed to repeat the record-shattering success of Thriller. Rumors about his personal life and his eccentricities had made him the subject of gossip and accusations. Tabloids had begun calling him "Wacko Jacko." "You've Got Michael" tells the story of the high-stakes battle to save Jackson's career and market his 1995 greatest hits album, as told by the record executive closest to him.Rather than rehash a controversial career, You've Got Michael details the inner workings of the music business at its mega-platinum height. Between the frequent 2:00 a.m. phone calls, pleas to get Michael to complete the new songs for the HIStory greatest hits package and the handling of unpredictable developments, You've Got Michael is a gripping drama about working with a supreme talent through the most difficult time in his career.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.
Send us a textIn this AI Advantage episode, Matt Brown sits down with Dan Beck, co-founder and CEO of 401GO, to unpack how automation and smart product design are bringing 401k plans to small and medium businesses. Dan explains the origin story, why traditional providers ignore smaller plans, and how simplifying setup and administration opens access for solo founders and teams with thousands of employees. They explore regulation in financial services, where automation ends and AI begins, and why human oversight remains essential. Dan shares why 401GO talks about financial independence rather than retirement, participation wins they are seeing with younger workers, and how vertically integrated data sets set the stage for future AI guidance once rules allow it.Support the show

This week we sit down with Dan Beck who is the owner and founder of Midwest Meals. www.Midwestmeals.com Dan was always active between sports and working out. He is from a small rural northern Wisconsin town but had the opportunity to live in Southern California and study the health and fitness culture on the west coast. When he returned to Wisconsin in 2015, Dan had the realization that there were no meal prep services in a multi-state radius. As he finished his degree, he decided to launch Midwest Meals out of a shared commercial kitchen and operated as lean as possible. Week after week, their clients kept telling friends and family about Midwest Meals They quickly outgrew the shared commercial kitchen and began construction of a brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Eau Claire, WI the spring of 2017. After a long period of construction, they finally opened a brand new storefront and commercial kitchen at the beginning of 2018 - where they currently produce all of the meals. Midwest Meals are based on a rounded macronutrient intake, aiming for approximately 30% protein, 30% fats, and 40% carbs. However, we try to keep our meals as versatile as possible to accommodate specific dietary guidelines or goals. They are a very science-first company and actively look at the new and existing research around nutrition and what works!
