WBSRocks: Business Growth with ERP and Digital Transformation
Send us a textThe line between HCM and ERP has often been blurred, especially with overlapping categories like ATS and payroll. Initially, ERP companies tried to integrate these functions as modules, only to realize their uniqueness required standalone software. This recognition influenced the architecture of systems like SAP S/4 HANA, which are comprehensive collections of systems designed with optimal architecture for both best-of-breed and embedded processes. Among these, SAP SuccessFactors stands out as a highly successful HCM solution, competing with industry giants like Workday and Oracle HCM. Now, where does SAP SuccessFactors currently stand in the landscape of HCM systems, and how does it fare against its competitors? In today's episode, we invited a panel of industry experts for a live discussion on LinkedIn to conduct an independent review of SAP SuccessFactors' capabilities. We covered many grounds including where SAP Successfactors might be a a fit in the enterprise architecture and where it might be overused. In episode 192 of our SAP on Azure video podcast we talk about SAP SuccessFactors and Microsoft Teams integration. When we talk about how Microsoft is a huge SAP customer we mainly talk about our SAP ERP ECC system or the RISE on Azure and SAP S/4HANA conversions that we are doing at the moment. But we also talk about the different Software as a service solutions that we are using from SAP -- and one of them is SAP SuccessFactors. When you are using SAP SuccessFactors in a lot of cases, your flow of work does actually start outside of SuccessFactors. One common place -- like in our recording here -- is Microsoft Teams. Luckily SAP SuccessFactors has a great integration in Teams and I am really glad to have Vanessa Li from the SAP SuccessFactors team joining us today. Welcome Vanessa! The only data stored in Teams are notification cards, which are subject to Microsoft's retention policy. This ensures compliance with data protection regulations. * Data Protection: Li, assured that personal information is not stored in Teams, addressing data protection concerns and emphasizing compliance with privacy regulations. * Runtime Data Access: Personal information is accessed at runtime from SuccessFactors, ensuring that data remains secure and is not cached or stored within Teams. * Notification Cards Storage: Only notification cards are stored in Teams, and these are governed by Microsoft's retention policy, which allows for data management in line with company policies. * Compliance with Regulations: The approach to handling personal information within the Teams integration aligns with data protection regulations, maintaining user trust and legal compliance. * Retention Policy Adherence: By adhering to Microsoft's retention policy for stored data, the integration ensures that any stored notification cards can be managed appropriately. * Future Enhancements: Li, shared plans for future enhancements, including natural language processing for AI interactions and support for delegated type permissions for single sign-on. These enhancements aim to improve user experience and administrative flexibility. * Natural Language Processing: Future updates will include natural language processing, allowing users to interact with the app using conversational language, enhancing the user experience. * AI Interactions: AI capabilities will be integrated to provide intelligent interactions, such as recommending learning courses based on user roles and skills. * Delegated Permissions: Support for delegated type permissions will be introduced, offering more flexibility in single sign-on configurations and user consent processes. * User Experience Improvement: The planned enhancements are focused on improving the overall user experience by making the app more intuitive and responsive to user needs. * Administrative Flexibility: Enhancements like delegated permissions will provide administrators with more options and control over the app's setup and user access. * Multi-Language Support: Li, confirmed that the app supports multiple languages, aligning with Teams' language settings. Language Alignment: The app's language alignment with Teams settings ensures a consistent user experience, reducing language barriers within the workplace. Concerns about Multi-Instance Support: Li, acknowledged the challenge of supporting multiple SuccessFactors instances with a single Teams account, a common scenario for large, global companies. While currently only one-to-one mapping is supported, plans are in place to address this limitation in future updates. Follow-up tasks:

On this episode of the Scouting For Growth podcast, Sabine VdL talks to Alex Shevelenko, the CEO and Co-Founder of Relayto, brings to the table a compelling narrative of how transforming mundane PDFs and presentations into interactive web experiences is not just an upgrade but a necessity. Today we will weave through Alex's entrepreneurial voyage, his insights on leadership, the genesis and trajectory of Relayto, and a gaze into the future of digital content experiences. Alex's perspectives to our dialogue will bring both foresight and actionable intelligence on harnessing interactive content management platforms like Relayto. We unmask the potential of interactive AI-led content management platforms in reshaping enterprise communication and how leaders can leverage this technology to foster better engagement within a world of digitalization. KEY TAKEAWAYS At my first job, an internship at Microsoft Office in 1997, I discovered the pdf was taking over PowerPoint and Word as the main medium which the customer wanted. The medium we're advocating is a consumer-centric medium. They start with the end-recipient in mind and, in the process to make that process a vision we tend to use AI and no-code software. The more valuable the idea for progression, the worse it's communicated. The more trivial ideas have a ton of click-bait-y ads that try to get you to buy stuff that you don't need and solve problems you don't really have. BEST MOMENTS ‘Entrepreneurship tends to call on you.' ‘Fundamentally it's about the consumer of your content… what do they want to do? Increasingly they want a conversation rather than be pummelled with information, they want to be engaged and make the interaction their own.' ‘It's a privilege and a joy to work on something you really believe in.' ABOUT THE GUESTAlex Shevelenko is the CEO and Co-Founder of Relayto, a document experience platform that turns conventional PDFs and presentations into interactive web experiences. With over 20 years of experience in the technology industry, Alex has worn many hats across global organizations like Microsoft, Salesforce, SAP SuccessFactors, and Oliver Wyman consulting. His career reflects his passion for innovation and his innate ability to lead and inspire teams. Alex holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania. He has also completed executive education at Harvard Business School. As a serial entrepreneur, Alex founded the management consulting firm Glocal Partners, where he advised international companies on growth strategies and innovation. This experience laid the foundation for his current venture, Relayto. Since co-founding Relayto in 2017, Alex has rapidly grown the company. Relayto has raised $500K in funding to date and hit $1.6M in revenue in 2022. Under Alex's leadership, Relayto transforms how enterprises communicate and engage with digital documents. When he's not building Relayto, Alex is an avid reader and movie buff. He also loves to travel the world, having been to over 29 countries across 6 continents. Alex brings a unique blend of leadership, innovation, and global perspective. https://www.linkedin.com/in/shevelenko/ https://relayto.com/ ABOUT THE HOSTSabine is a corporate strategist turned entrepreneur. The origin story of making this episode happen all started with a social media thread. This one, in fact: https://bit.ly/3RvUNBE Industry advisor, Steve Goldberg posted something about onboarding as IMMERSION in job, team and culture --- which got my co-host Jess Von Bank's quick response and the attention of Meg Bear, President & SPO of SAP SuccessFactors, and Gordon Ritchie, Principal Consultant, Skills Architecture & Transformation at Skill Collective. So we decided to take this conversation to the community. We hashed out one of the most important moments that matter for your workforce — and the biggest ROI opportunity for business. Jess likes to call it Onboarding & Ongoing. How can we treat this critical step in the talent journey as a strategic launchpad and not a tactical checklist? Especially as so many organizations profess to become skills-based, to prioritize employee well-being, and to create true connection to corporate values?
