Trustees, are you confident you've completed all your legal responsibilities? This final, crucial question is one every trustee should ask—but the answer is rarely simple. In this episode of Absolute Trust Talk, host Kirsten Howe and associate attorney Jessica Colbert delve into the often-overlooked legal notices trustees are required to send before making final distributions. They discuss the critical 120-day notice to trust beneficiaries and heirs, informing them of their rights to contest the trust. They also cover essential notifications to the Department of Health Care Services and the county assessor's office. Missing these steps might seem minor, but they can lead to significant delays and legal complications. Tune in to learn more about these requirements and why addressing them early is essential for a seamless trust administration. Time-stamped Show Notes: 0:00 Introduction 1:15 Picking up from our previous episode with the fourth and final question for trustees: “Have I done everything I'm required to do?” 2:00 Next, let's explore the first of several common notices that trustees often overlook. 2:30 The 120-Day Notice to Beneficiaries and Heirs: Why this written notice is crucial and its specific language requirements. 3:38 There are beneficiaries, and then there are heirs. Here's what you need to know about notifying each as a trustee. 5:00 Have you filed a notice to the Department of Healthcare Services? We discuss why it's an important step, even if you believe it doesn't apply. 6:30 If the decedent owned any real estate, you'll need to submit this to the county assessor's office. Listen in for more details. 7:10 The final takeaway: Ask the questions we covered today sooner rather than later to avoid complications.
Trustees met Thursday night in Dolton to discuss their financial future, but Mayor Tiffany Henyard did not attend, and the meeting proceeded without her.# The crowd cheered when Trustee Stanley Brown arrived at the Dolton Fieldhouse. Brown, who has previously supported Henyard, was the fifth trustee to join the meeting. "I had residents that said come to this meeting, some said don't come to this meeting, I'm here for all the residents," said Brown. The rescheduled meeting of the Dolton Board of Trustees came a little over a week after Henyard attempted to hold her own meeting, which lacked a quorum.

If you are employed, your job is at risk. This has been true for all industries, but medicine seemed to be immune from these trends for the most part. Last year, medicine was the third largest industry experiencing layoffs. From new graduates to higher up physician leaders, there does not seem to be anyone who is safe. Private practice has likely been the canary in the coal mine and first to experience the hit of decreased reimbursements. Amanda Hill, JD is a strong advocate for physicians. We recorded this episode a few days ago, because we have been seeing these alarming trends accelerating. We joined forces last year to create the program 90 Day Notice to help. Note that Anchor has been very buggy/slow lately. The 10 second intro blurb took 5 minutes to upload. Update July 20 Right at the very height of my dangerous interactions with the landlord, when I got a court order case # 20CH009434 restraining the landlord from the actions he's been doing, determining them to be CRIMINAL if he continues to do them.... that was when I couldnt even fuqqing update my podcasts. I was in correspondence with Anchor FM. They are nice people but they don't seem to have taken this thing very seriously. This was how I chose to process my anxiety and their platform couldn't even operate during the height of my anxiety. This is some kind of lesson to be understood, that we should rely upon God and not the world. But I'm still in the middle of this bullshit because my restraining order has not been served yet, even though I waved it in front of the landlord's face when he intruded onto my living quarters without my permission, with no notice. He knows there's a TRO on the way and can fight it. All because I was not in much of a fuqqing position to process my fuqqing anxiety. Anyways, maybe I can get back to processing my anxiety rather than releasing it onto souls who are just trying to do their jobs. It turns out that during this time of heavy bandwidth usage (uploading vicious dog videos), T-Mobile put a 'throttle' on my account. I paid for an upgrade, the T-Mobile 'expert' said that the throttle would be removed within an hour. Next day, no removal. I called T-Mobile, very very heightened anxiety situation with the dog right at the moment I was getting the bullshit condescending patronizing runaround from the T-Mobile technician and I had a meltdown. I called T-Mobile back, they said a supervisor would call me. I kept saying this was a life threatening situation. But ... no call back. Finally yesterday evening when I was booted from my OWN Zoom Depressed Anonymous meeting with only 4 members online. This was about the 6th time I've been booted, it involves getting knocked off the meeting and having to sign in again, usually about a dozen times within a 15 minute period. Extremely frustrating, extremely aggravating, emotionally dangerous. Last night when I got booted from my DA meeting I called T-MObile, went through the hoops one more time, and they got my "throttle" removed from my account. I am finally able to start uploading audio again into Anchor. This has been surreal.

Allll aboard, going to your dream destination babyyyyy! ...Welcome to TeTe & Espresso, a CastBox original, I’m TeTe. I just gave my 30 days notice to my property managers that I am moving...Mmmmm and here is what I can teach to learn... I remember 6 months ago, when I knew I was going to be moving. I decided shortly before that. It was real then, sure...30 days away, my body and spirit are moving forward regardless, and that’s the beauty of being in the now as much as possible. Our bodies and minds will not stop. They are on some sort of cosmic auto pilot towards the dream we have selected, that we desire. Here is my teaching and learning for the day.... Surrender to do nothing. Go no where, and to feel nothing but the joy of the present moment.... You are upset at your boat for not going anywhere, and you never find anything when you go out, because you have never given your Captain an exact dream destination...Having the main goal of peace of mind, peace with this moment, self forgiveness, meditation, should be the main aim. Until....until in those peaceful moments, you see..You see clearly now, where exactly you want your life to go. You’ll notice a propelling forward like you have never felt. You have given your very talented Captain the ability to unleash his talent to get you to your destination the fastest, and safest... And you will even have time to jump into the water for a minute swim and enjoy the sky...And yes, these boats now a days have technology to scan to water in 500 feet in every direction for big fish..dun dun dun dun dun... I love you.. www.surroundsoundlove.com
