Almost a year ago, Amanda and I signed up for a hippie dippie retreat in Joshua Tree, led by our friend and fearless leader, Emily Schromm. The weekend was themed around healing and we both needed exactly that at the time. When "plant medicine ceremony" popped up on the agenda, we were both nervous, but so excited to let go. Amanda and I share our first experience with mother mushroom (aka psilocybin) and what our six-hour experience was like. Amanda is a software engineer by day and in her free time you can find her enjoying the outdoors, knitting a new hat, reading a romance novel, lifting weights at the gym, or watching sports.  She's a Taurus and a 5/2 Projector who has a deep love for horses.  At her core though, she's just a girl who is on a self-healing journey and ultimately just wants to leave the world a better place then how she found it.MY BOOK IS OUT NOW! BUY HERE ON AMAZON! Learn more about the book at facingfearwithsara.com/bookGet all the BTS & FAQ's About the Book hereMENTIONED ON THE SHOWHow to Change Your Mind on NetflixEmily Schromm's podcast episode on mushrooms titled Microdosing, Maui, Water is LifeSUPPORT THE SHOWPODCAST/CANCER MERCH: Visit facingfearwithsara.com/merchCATCH UP ON 100+ EPISODES: facingfearwithsara.com/episodesCONNECT Subscribe to my newsletter at facingfearwithsara.comInstagram - @facingfearwithsara, @saramcinerneyhauckTikTok - @facingfearwithsaraFacebook - @facingfearwithsaraWebsite - facingfearwithsara.comYouTube - Sara McInerney HauckEmail - hello@facingfearwithsara.com Support the show

Hey Fandom! Welcome back for another episode of Challenge Trash Talk Roundtable with your hosts Rick, Corrina, Tony, Josh and Cory! Yup, that's right we've got a full house tonight and it was for a very special reason! We all got together to finalize an official Challenge Fandom Podcast Mount Rushmore list for men and women! We kick off the episode by catching up as Rick tells us his heroic story. Then we break into what our plans are for formatting this episode, how we are missing out on Hogwarts Legacy and whether or not we'd ever pay for our IG to be verified (0:00 - 16:35). Then we break into the women's Mount Rushmore first. We decided to present a list of 12 names and then debate them down until we have a final 4 at which point we will number them and finalize our team's Mount Rushmore. For the women we discuss the following people: Susie Meister, Emily Schromm, Jodi Weatherton, Jonna Mannion, Tori Deal, Paula Meronek, Veronica Portillo, Ashley Mitchell, Sarah Rice, Evelyn Smith, Laurel Stucky and Cara Maria Sorbello (16:35 - 1:46:00). Finally we break into the Men's Mount Rushmore which seemed to be much easier to agree on but still provided a lot of interesting debates and is sure to upset some of the fans (sorry). The men that we discussed are: Tyler Duckworth, Brad Fiorenza, Turbo Camkiran, Mark Long, Derrick Kosinski, Landon Leuck, Darrell Taylor, Wes Bergmann, Jordan Wiseley, Johnny 'Bananas' Devenanzio, and Chris 'CT' Tamburello (1:46:00 - END). We really hope you all enjoy this debate and remember, if you'd like to discuss your thoughts on our final list our IG inbox is always open! However, if you're upset and want a fight, make sure you message the host that upset you the most directly LOL! Hey Fandom! Welcome back for another episode of Trash Talk Roundtable with your Challenge Fandom Podcast hosts Rick, Corrina, Josh, Tony and Cory! We did it! We are officially here at the end of MTV's The Challenge season 38 Ride or Dies. This season began in October 2022 but honestly, it feels like it's gone on for nearly a year now! So, come break down the finale with us! Start off by finding out why Tony says that horses get farted on the most, the red VS pink shirt debate, Fergie's National Anthem disaster, class clown stories, strange school mural paintings and which host says they'd die for Circle K (0:00 - 17:25). Next, we discuss Sam Bird and Emily Schromm's recent twitter beef and have a few debates about things like: why the advantage from the Noodle Dinner wasn't announced, if The Challenge is ready to be considered the fifth sport, how we are feeling about the time inconsistencies, who we are dubbing the true MVP of Challenge finals, our thoughts on the Corn Maze, whether we prefer finals to end on a mountain peak, what we are so upset is missing from this final and does TJ really hate girl farts? (17:25 - 58:15). Last, we discuss the quote of the night, how we are feeling about this modified version of 'Balls In', whether we think Nany was intentionally targeting Aneesa's injuries, overarching thoughts on the Post Apocalyptic Finale Zone, Olivia being dubbed the new age Barbie Beast, the biggest mistake of the entire season, how we feel about Bananas and Nany not finishing until the horn, season MVP's, rookies we want to see back and, if you can believe it, even more than that (58:15 - END). It has honestly been an incredibly fun season. We've laughed, cried, argued, agreed, had amazing guest hosts and were even able to all come together a few times. Thank you all for your love and support this season, we truly appreciate you all more than you know. Make sure you keep an eye out for our "off season discussion" episode next week and we will be back with Roundtable Recaps in a few weeks for The Challenge World Championship! Today's conversation is with Melanie McIntyre, the owner of Tru-Nectar, an e-commerce business selling CBD products. She started the business officially in February 2020 but had been working on researching the product and setting it up for a year prior. Tru-Nectar sells tinctures, gummies, topical, soft-gels, and dog treats all made with CBD. Melanie has always been interested and passionate about natural health for her own issues and found CBD. She did her own research on companies, tried various brands, and began to discover the benefits for herself. Charlotte's Web Company helped put CBD on the map without the stigma when in 2018 a Farm Bill was passed that made the cultivation of hemp legal in all states. Stipulations for how much THC, how it's grown, and how it is cultivated. CBD comes from the hemp plant which is the same as marijuana. The difference is in how it's cultivated. CBD can have up to .3% of THC(which is the psychedelic) and marijuana has 15-20% of THC. This product is not regulated currently by the FDA, so some CBD companies will do 3rd party testing to discover any possible pesticides or chemicals, the amount of CBD that is on the label is reflected in the product, and if there are any added ingredients. Not all CBD companies are the same so it's important to research them and look into their 3rd party testing. Tru-Nectar products have a QR code to see the testing results for that particular batch and all have 0% THC. Studies have shown that CBD can help with sleep issues, anxiety, stress, muscle and joint pain to name a few. For dogs, the products may help with anxiety; everyday or situation specific, and arthritis. Each of our bodies have an endocannabinoid systems that helps create overall balance. Our body produces it and sometimes could use more of it for balance which is where CBD supplements come in. Realm of Caring is a non-profit dedicated to research and findings regarding CBD products. "It's considered to be a supplement because our body already produces these chemicals but we may need a little more because we are in a high stress environment or we are struggling with sleep or we just have anxiety because we have a chemical imbalance or it's just lifestyle so it just provides that extra support to create more balance." Melanie has been influenced by the Charlotte's Web company which was started to support their daughter who had multiple seizures a day and found some relief with CBD. For natural health in general, Melanie has enjoyed information from Emily Schromm, a nutritionist with her website and podcast, Meathead Hippie. Melanie wants to heal Charlotte as she has been here for 16 years and see how high stress the environment is here. "CBD is a product that can help that because it just helps to bring balance and that's part of what Charlotte needs. You know people in Charlotte, we just need to find that balance between doing but also resting. Taking time for ourselves and not being all about this one thing but really paying attention to self." A healer in Charlotte who inspires her is Dr. Eric Goodman at Greenapple who is a Chiropractor and Acupuncturist. Use code "healclt" at Tru-Nectar to take advantage of the 25% discount.

Emily Schromm is a creator, serial entrepreneur and author helping others empower themselves by way of food, movement and business. She recently published her first book, The Process, and launched EMPRESS, a digital publication filled with workshops, video, audio and written content, live classes and more. Other ventures include EmFit: online nutrition and exercise programs; Evolved Motion: a backpack-turned-weight-training invention to make the world your gym; Element Tea: an herbal tea line; and Platform Strength: a 24/7 access strength gym in RiNO, Denver. Emily joins Steph on the pod this week to talk online personas, letting go of food guilt, and pivoting in both health and career. She reflects on how we limit our identity to what shows up online, and how it can be a detriment to our self development and evolution — because we become so attached to this precious version of ourselves on the internet. Emily reveals how her attitude towards health and fitness have changed, and how she has embraced major pivots in her businesses. Now she asks herself in her work: “Can I help people — especially women — with guilt?” From letting go of ego in training, to removing the association between guilt and food. She recognizes that athletes “don’t have a problem with moving — we have a problem with stopping.” This realization came when she acknowledged that her view of wellness was warped, and that she didn’t want her clients to feel the burnout she was experiencing. “All I was doing was beating my body up — and setting standards I was never able to satisfy. I want to be better everyday — but at what point does that affect your psychology in saying — ‘I am never enough’.” Show Links: Emily on the ‘gram: https://www.instagram.com/emilyschromm/?hl=en Emily on the web: https://emilyschromm.com

I HAVE PHASED OUT + ADDED ALMOST TEN PROGRAMS IN TWO YEARS. I hope that if you're an entrepreneur or you want to be, you learn A LOT from this episode. Today I am aggressively pulling back the curtain on the past years of my business and the transition to what it is in present time. This episode came from this idea that people see my biz now, where it is, and may not know where it came from. And that sometimes we need a reminder to not compare our first year of biz (or anything for that matter) with someone who is further ahead. Even more, to not copy what someone else is doing because they will likely change or even get rid of whatever you just copied. I have done this in the past and throughout my entrepreneurial journey. Thought “oh, so and so does this, and they're successful, so I should do that.” Now, I am not talking about copying verbatim, rather concepts and formatting. But still, I'd roll something out, thinking I'd be done, and then that person who I got the idea from, rolls out something new and better. It's just not a good plan fam. You're always behind, and you're not focused on you and yours - what your audience really needs from you. So, I'd like to share some of the programs and segments of programs that I've had through the last five years and why I no longer offer them. Even if you're not an entrepreneur there is likely a takeaway here for you on some level. I had the first four programs all the way into 2018. So the transition to the Annie Miller Concepts you see now didn't happen that long ago. And the transition I am talking about came out of really honing in who I was meant to serve and what that person truly needed from me. That would be my Ideal Client Avatar and I literally used my FREE PDF Ideal Client Avatar Creator to clearly define my dream audience. Then promptly got rid of all programs that didn't serve that person. Which brings me to my first four programs that I no longer offer at Annie Miller Concepts: 20 day challenge 6 week transformation Pull up guide Macro + nutrition breakdown Starting with the 20 day challenge -  This was my first ever offer and I straight up made it while I was still in college and I saw Emily Schromm doing her 21 day challenges. It was appealing. $21, 21 days and you basically give people the basics. It's a kick start. Mine was nowhere near hers. But it was valuable AF. I made videos for 20 days and posted a new one everyday in the Facebook group. They received recipes, workouts and handouts. It really was a shit load of value and mine was $20 for 20 days. It worked too - people lost weight and inches. I got testimonials, and people always joined. But there was so much wrong with this. I was attracting people who were not actually my ideal clients. The offer didn't make any sense for where I wanted to go and who I wanted to work with. I loved writing weight lifting programs. People who are looking for a 20 day kickstart ARE NOT looking for a legit weight lifting program…Not a great start to my offer pyramid or offer suite. It was $20 and I had like 300 followers on Instagram and 47 people on my mailing list…I also paid for Facebook ads that did absolutely nothing for me because I had no idea what I was doing. I am on team organic growth and sales until you're established. Then enter into paid advertising when you can hire an expert to do it for you. That's my personal take, you can have yours.Do the math - $20 and a small audience is not how you make a sustainable income online or in person. And I did a challenge every quarter. The most I ever had was 52 people I think. Thats $1,040 folks…Mind you, it was not easy to run these challenges either. You heard me list off what was included! Videos, daily workouts, emails, facebook group, PDFs.And Lord knows barely any of that was automated. I was doing an ungodly amount of work for barely any money. NOT A GOOD BUSINESS MODEL. So,

She’s a self-proclaimed “Meathead Hippie”, a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, trainer, coach, writer, and creator who realized she could use food and movement to heal from the inside out. But it wasn’t until she started doing a deep dive into emotional awareness that she found her true self. And that’s exactly what Emily Schromm comes on the show to talk about with Dr. Anthony Gustin. While this is a topic that’s not often talked about, it should be for a number of different reasons, as you’ll learn in this episode. By taking emotional awareness for granted, you could experience negative health outcomes. And no matter how hard you workout or eat healthy, if you’re missing this key ingredient, you could still find yourself suffering from health ailments. As Emily mentions in the show, instead of turning to external sources to find the solutions to all of your problems, it pays to turn inward and tap into your feelings. So how do you do that? When you tune into this episode, you’ll hear the exact steps to take to start tapping into your emotional awareness, which can greatly improve your life and health, as Emily experienced firsthand. If you don’t know Emily, on top of being a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, personal trainer, and online coach, she recently self-published her book, The Process, which dives into how to do, feel, know, and make without getting in your own way. Emily shares some strategies from the book and also chats about how to crush self-doubt, when to let go of things that don’t serve you, how to push past your fears, and a number of other topics. Tune into the episode now to see how you can drastically improve your life.

In our own version of March Madness, we're bringing you FIVE guests for this week's Meatcast, recorded live at Expo West.  We talk to fitness superstar Emily Schromm and journalists, Neil Zevnik from the Huffington Post and Ashley Van Houten from Paleo Magazine.  We peek into the world of the dreaded “influencer” thanks to Michelle Smith of The Whole Smiths, and we talk to professional athlete, Steve Hauschka, an NFL kicker for the Buffalo Bills.  What kind of event brings all these types of people together? Only Expo West, the largest trade show for natural and organic food brands. With so many guests and topics, we've included more details [and timestamps!] below. Emily Schromm [3:00] - Star from MTV's The Challenge and Women's Health's “Next Fitness Star”.  Her and I discuss the top trends she's seeing at the show and why being surrounded by health products reminds us there's no ‘easy fix'. Michelle Smith [8:10] - Recipe guru, mom ninja, author.  Michelle gives us a peek into the world of “influencers”, explaining how they get paid, why she hates the word ‘influencer', and how she decides to share pictures of her family when she has over a hundred thousand followers. Ashley Van Houten [25:05] - Paleo Mag contributor and podcast host. Ashley shares what she's seen at Expo that will resonate with the Paleo community (hint: not vegan burgers) and we discuss the evolution of the Paleo community she's seen over 7 years writing for Paleo Magazine. Neil Zevnik [33:00] - Writer, Huffington Post and Better Nutrition.
