After retiring from professional football, Ryan shifted his focus to public speaking and sharing the lessons he learned from decades of elite athletics. The Broncos defeated the Patriots 20-18 to advance to the Super Bowl. (AP Photo/Charlie Riedel) Today is the final episode of the Habit hacking series here on the MindMill. Early in 2019, the MindMill teamed up with an event to promote the understanding, impact, dissection, and mastering of our personal habits. The summit, Habit Hackers, was a massive success; bringing hundreds together to learn from top performers, entrepreneurs, Super Bowl champions, and elite coaches. The day-long summit was packed with presentations and workshops to aide in mastering routines that shape our lives. I had the pleasure of interviewing the creator, David Blutenthal on the podcast to discuss his inspiration for habit hackers. We also dove into our own trials and tribulations surrounding our personal habits. Great episode, be sure to go back and give it a listen or refresher. David is expanding Habit Hackers this year with a series of mini-workshops before the next big summit in early 2020. These workshops will give people hands-on opportunities to tackle their habits in different areas of life with accountability and social support. Whether you desire to transform your personal finance habits, create a more effective communication, or build new structures for your health and fitness, you'll find something to take on with these workshops. You can find more information about all things Habit Hackers at https://habithackers.co. Ryan Harris on The MindMill Podcast This episode absolutely flew by, and I'm so excited to share it with you. Today we are with Super Bowl Champion, talk show host, author, and motivational speaker Ryan harris. Ryan is a retired NFL offensive lineman who protected Peyton Manning during the Denver Broncos most recent championship season. After retiring from professional football, Ryan shifted his focus to public speaking and sharing the lessons he learned from decades of elite athletics. Ryan completely embodies his positivity and excitement for life. From the beginning of our interview, we couldn't help but laugh and joke around. I don't get too many chances to talk about football on the show, so I took the opportunity to hear from an absolute expert. After some obligatory college football trash talk, Ryan opened up about how his attitude and dedication to incremental improvements led to his longevity as a top competitor. We then move the conversation to his routines for success post NFL. Ryan has learned so much as a family man and businessman. He opens up about the daily habits that keep him at his best; as a father, a husband, and as a public speaker. Ryan Harris on The MindMill Podcast I gotta put it out there. I was only one of the multiple interviews Ryan gave this day. He got his names mixed up, and called me “Terry” towards the end of our conversation. haha while slightly embarrassing for both of us, the quality of our interview more than made up for it. I mentioned it after we wrapped up, and got him back on the air to smooth it out. Oh the lessons we learn as podcasters. I loved this interview, and am so excited to share “Terry” I mean Ryan Harris' story on the MindMill podcast. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=782T0i7AE2o&feature=youtu.be CONTACT Ryan Harris ryanharris68.com Ryan's Newest Book - Mindset for Mastery: An NFL Champion's Guide to Reaching Your...

I got my start in business over 10 years ago after my best friend showed me how successful he was selling information products online.  I can still remember locking myself in my bedroom for three straight weeks to write my first ebook.  When I finally finished writing the book, I put it online and went to bed.I woke up the next morning and couldn't believe what I saw… I had my first sale. It was only one sale, but more sales came in over the next few days and that's when I knew I was on to something…I kept growing my company and after a few years, my little ebook quickly turned into a multi-million dollar a year virtual business employing 75 people around the world. That's when I started getting emails from people asking me for business and marketing advice to teach them how to be successful starting and launching their own businesses using my techniques and formulas.  I've been very fortunate to work with some amazing people like Tony Robbins and Sir Richard Branson.  I've devoted several years of my life to create trainings that teach entrepreneurs all my best strategies and techniques for business, marketing and wealth creation and you can find it all here at Eben Pagan Training. David and Seth discuss the impact of routine in their own lives, what led to the creation of Habit Hackers, and the critical importance of owning daily habits. Oh man I'm excited for this episode! Not only is this episode with one of my favorite people, but it's also glimpse into an upcoming event that the MindMill will be participating in.  Im talking about Habit Hackers, a day long conference dedicated to working with the routines that shape our lives.  With the first ever Habit Hackers summit coming up in Denver Colorado, I sat down with the creator, David Blutenthal, to discuss what inspired him to start this project, what we can expect from Habit Hackers, and why directing our habits is more important now than ever.  A quick side note: The MindMill podcast strives to keep its content evergreen, meaning it maintains its relevance and value no matter when an episode is listened to.  Although this episode discusses an upcoming event, I assure you, the topics we cover aren't expiring.  We are our habits, from brushing our teeth to how we view ourselves.  In essence, habits form our entire lifestyle and personality.  This episode dives right into that, from a scientific approach, as well as personal.  Im so excited to be a part of Habit Hackers, and to share this interview with its creator. Today's episode is with David Blutenthal.  David has been in the entrepreneurial world for over 15 years, and has worn nearly every hat there is.  He cut his teeth in the music industry; representing artists, creating music tech platforms, and spear-heading marketing campaigns.  He now holds the position of Head of Product at Levo Oil Infusion Inc, a company on a mission to create the world's premier infusion lifestyle brand – becoming the source of truth on the topic of and access to, affordable plant-based wellness.  Throughout David's career, he has become quite aware of the habits that form effectivity in both life and in business.  It's this fascination and introspection that inspired him to create habit hackers.  Under David's leadership and vision, Habit Hackers has developed into a premier event for self-improvement and routine manipulation.  The speakers, contributors, and workshops are stellar; and I am honored to be part of it.  So without further a-due, my conversation with David Blutenthal. https://youtu.be/s2TlNqL72-4 SHOWNOTES ABOUT HABIT HACKERS Why does it seem out of reach to be able to break bad habits and build healthy habits that stick for longer than a few weeks or months? All human beings are creatures of habit. Some habits are effective – others are not. Most ineffective habits form without our awareness, and they hold us back in life because we don't have the tools to break them. Our habits live in our blind spots. We see ourselves engaging in these disruptive patterns and it leaves us feeling stuck, powerless, and lacking control. For many of us, our habits around technology use has spun out of control. For others, habits linked to procrastination, diet, and interpersonal communication are blocking us from living out our dreams. If habit mechanics don't become part of the mainstream conversation we'll see a society that grows deficient in impulse control, productivity, physical health, self-efficacy, and starved from true connectedness to others. This is why we're hosting Habit Hackers – the first-of-its-kind personal growth summit all about habit training. Come participate in a transformational day of expert speaker sessions and workshop that will give you the tools you need to break ineffective habits, and craft powerful new ones for a life of continuous improvement. Darryl Purpose on The MindMill Podcast Darryl Purpose is a Charting Folk Singer-Songwriter and Advanced Play Blackjack Player. Today we are with Darryl Purpose, top-charting folk-singer and semi-retired advanced play blackjack master.  Darryl's story is fascinating;  his professions have taken him all over the world, and he has a plethora of anecdotes and tales to go with each adventure.  Despite traveling the globe, Darryl maintains there is no better home for him than Nederland Colorado, where we recorded this episode.  This podcast was recorded live on his property during the Ganja Guru Yoga HERE Retreat.  A huge thanks to close friend and supporter of the show, Adam Brous, for hosting this amazing retreat, and facilitating this fascinating interview.  In this episode, Darryl and I chat on the intricacies of song-writing, the not-so glamorous lifestyle of a professional gambler,  the overlooked amazing benefits of owning a trampoline, and what we love about living in Colorado. Darryl Purpose on The MindMill Podcast Singer songwriter Darryl Purpose biography When Darryl Purpose was 16 years old, his mother put a book called “Beat the Dealer” in his Christmas stocking. He interrupted a guitar major program, went to Las Vegas as a teenager, began a career as professional card player. He was soon known as the world's fastest card counter. Banned from casinos on six continents, he still calls this the “only real job I've ever had.” Years later, he took time off to walk across the country for peace, and fell in with a ‘bad' crowd – musicians & peaceniks – which culminated, improbably sharing the stage with the likes of Santana and Bonnie Raitt in the first stadium rock concert in the former Soviet Union. In 1996, inspired by his work with a traveling band of musical activists and working his way out of a brush with the law (that's another story), Darryl began to tour nationally as a solo singer-songwriter. Eight years, six CDs and a thousand-plus shows later, he was headlining venues like the Freight and Salvage, Club Passim, McCabe's, The Bluebird Cafe, The Kennedy Center, and the Kerrville Folk Festival Main Stage. Darryl Purpose on The MindMill Podcast A break and further projects In 2005, he inexplicably set down his guitar, took a 7-year sabbatical in the Rocky Mountains. He set out to “get healthy in multiple ways”. During this time, he shepherded the release of “Singer-Songwriter Heaven: the songs of Kevin Faherty”. He co-captained the “Second Strings Project” delivering over twenty thousand sets of guitar strings to those who need them all around the world. He studied with Buddhist master Thich Nhat Hanh; and in 2009, was inducted into the Blackjack Hall of Fame. One of 17 members was Ed Thorp, the man who wrote that book that his mother put into his Christmas stocking at 16. The music called him back in 2012 and saw Darryl record his first CD of original material in 10 years – “Next Time Around,” produced by Billy Crockett for the Blue Rock Artists label. With no formal radio promotion, the CD spent five weeks at #1 on the Roots Music Report folk chart for national radio airplay in 2013. His critically-acclaimed latest release – “Still The Birds” (co-written with Paul Zollo, also produced by Billy Crockett) twists and turns songs as unique and diverse as the stories from Darryl's kaleidoscopic life. “Still the Birds” also rose to #1 on the Roots Music Report folk chart. Darryl likes to say that luck is a residue of design — and he has been crafting his own luck for some time now. Current interests include Camp Ned, (an intimate songwriter retreat in the rocky mountains); traveling, including the occasional gig; and, inspired by the mountains, a deep dive into mindful practices and a super-healthy lifestyle. https://youtu.be/5RxGdRkMBkk SHOWNOTES Connect with Darryl Purpose Darryl's WebsiteInstagramFacebookListen to Darryl Purpose on Spotify

Jake Holschuh on The MindMill Podcast Todays episode is a special one for me.  Not only is it special because of the subjects discussed; but also because this episode is with the guest from my first ever MindMill podcast, Jake Holschuh. Jake has been a friend, photography teacher, and colleague of mine for the last few years.  He is a stellar photographer and videographer, and was a huge inspiration for me starting this podcast, as well as my recent “The MindMill Abroad” photography project through Europe.  Him and I touch on our story a bit in this episode, but I reluctantly recommend you to go back and listen to my first episode. Cringe-worthy at times, but a great way to learn a bit more about Jake and our friendship. Jake recently purchased his first home here in Denver, Colorado, And he had asked me to share some insight and advice for new homeowners, roommates, and landlords.  I asked him if we could make a podcast out of it, and todays episode was born.  Set in Jake's brand new backyard, him and I start with some questions and discussion on homeownership, being your own handyman, selecting and living with roommates, budgeting, and coexisting. After a short break, we flip the script and switch topics to professional photography, how its changed, where its heading, and how to succeed as an artist in a world of camera phone and social media.  I love this project, the MindMill has evolved and grown in ways I never imagined when Jake and I recorded the first episode.  Theres amazing new episodes coming up, as well as some exciting new announcements at the MindMill.  But now, please enjoy my spirited and periodically snarky conversation with Jake Holschuh.  https://youtu.be/GDy_DoARA5A SHOWNOTES Some of my favorite photos from Jake.  Jake Holschuh Bio Jake Holschuh is an incredibly talented photographer based in Denver, Colorado who boldly creates cinematic drama with his brilliant perspective. After graduation, he succeeded in freelance photography commissioning works for many of the most successful magazines (Denver Westword, 5280, DOPE, etc) and companies (Columbia, Phillips, Upslope Brewing, and more) in Colorado. Greg Woodruff on The MindMill Podcast Greg Woodruff returns to the MindMill Podcast. Seth and Greg reflect on a transformative year from backcountry in Yellowstone National Park. This episode is a special one. A while back, I interviewed my good friend Greg Woodruff; Jiu Jitsu competitor, Yoga teacher, Yellowstone Ranger, and all around one of my favorite people. When we last spoke, Greg was moving across the country from Alabama back to Yellowstone for another season in the park. We were both in big chapter changes in our lives, and had tons to discuss. Greg is one of those friends that no matter how longs its been since seeing each other, we pick up right where we left off. I loved that episode, and highly recommend giving it a listen to it before (or after) listening to todays show. When we recorded the first episode, Greg invited me to come and visit him in Yellowstone sometime after i returned from Europe. Fast forward a year, and I find myself in Bozeman, Montana; getting picked up from the airport for a week long expedition through America's most iconic park. 4 days backcountry, 100s of wildlife sitings (0 bears thank god), dozens of hooked fish, and countless thermal features later; and i can assuredly say this was one of the best outdoor experiences of my life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ksv5pVC_9Mc&feature=youtu.be Despite the necessity of packing efficiently when backpack camping, I decided to bring my camera and podcast gear, and I'm so glad i did. We decided to record a followup episode while out in the backcountry of Yellowstone. Mid morning, sipping yerba mate by the fire, we asked each other some questions about our journeys in the year since seeing each other last. The conversation starts with me asking Greg about the impact of his new fishing guide position at the park. Greg is a wealth of knowledge, and delivers intellectual gems about Yellowstone, park sustainability, fishing, and sharing your passions with others. We take a mini break, and return with Greg asking me some pointed questions about my time abroad in Europe and Africa. This episode is treasured to me, listening back it takes me back to the campsite, lakeside, sharing an adventure with one of my best friends. In the show notes, I've attached a link to photography shot during our trip. Be sure to check it out, listen back to Gregs first interview, and enjoy this fireside chat episode of the MindMill Podcast. Joshua Greenfield on The MindMill Podcast Joshua Greenfield is a vibrational healer, professional musician, and teacher of mindful cooking. He is on a mission to teach the world how to tap into their own ability to heal themselves through music. Today we are with Joshua Greenfield; Professional Musician, sound & vibration healer, and teacher of mindful cooking. Joshua is well versed in a variety of instruments from around the world including singing bowls, hang drums, percussion, djembe, shruti box, guitar, piano, tuning forks, bamboo flute, and a number of others. His mission is to help people overcome fear, anxiety and depression by tapping into their body, breath and voice to explore sound and rhythm in a way that allows them to break through limiting beliefs and heal themselves from the inside out. Sound Healing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmnz38eY-oI&feature=youtu.be I met Joshua at a yoga event where i had formerly performed and he was performing. We share a passion for sharing music with others, and immediately connected. We played some music together that evening, and I knew I wanted to get him on the show. We hadn't yet had a chance to share much with each other, which is exactly how i like my podcast guests. The more curious, the better the interview. This turned out to be one of my favorite interviews, the amount of similarities in our paths is staggering. In this episode, we discuss the skillsets and entrepreneurial drive that develops from being in a band, the unbelievable power of musical ecstasy, connecting the soul to the body through dance, and much more. We bookended our interview with some improvised sound healing in my living room. Ill share a clip of our session following our discussion. Small disclaimer, we recorded this episode in my home office, which inspires the opening of the interview. I promise you, this isnt an episode on the band phish, so hang in there. Sorry im not sorry... On a side note, Joshua has created one of the biggest online platforms for teaching mindful cooking and eating and has amassed over one million Youtube followers. It called “The Brothers Green” and its a phenomenal channel. I had no idea until a day before the interview about that side of his life. We don't touch on cooking in this episode, but do have plans to do a round 2 on mindful cooking in the near future. I really enjoyed getting to know Joshua Greenfield on this episode, and am honored to have him as a new member of the MindMill tribe! A NOTE FROM SETH This episode is all about art, music, and expression; and I wanted to share something with you thats been in my thoughts recently. This show has given amazing opportunities to share my own story as well as connect with other passionate humans all over the world. Ive met awesome new friends and been inspired countless times. The resounding theme of the show has really been that all genuine expression is art. Whether its in business, athletics, cooking, parenting or music; all art requires a bold personal stance and action. To me, it means absorbing from your inspirations and experiences, formulating your own passions, and boldly pursuing actions that make an impact. Its never easy, its life's true challenge, and it dictates our fulfillment. I notice this when Im working on new music, a new MindMill episode, starting a project; anything where I'm diving into the unknown. Theres the fear of rejection and failure, and it can be stifling. The butterflies that swarm my whole body and I want to seek refuge in my Netflix, my instagram, my distraction bubble. This is where its so crucial to take the leap, to go for it, to simply start. I recently heard something so wise; to recognize the butterfly moments as the most important moments in your life. Chances are, when you feel those butterflies, when the fight or flight kicks in, this could be a moment you will remember for the rest fo your life, should you choose to seize the opportunity.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdsW9zZG1S0 Host Seth Marcus reflects on his 5 month journey through Europe in early 2018.  In Part 2 of 2, Seth and Brian talk on the oddities of travel, self-awareness, and application of lessons learned abroad. Woooow. Just Wow. It feels so good to be back home. Summer is here, its grilling season, and Denver is blowing up! The city has grown so much since I moved here 8 years ago, but upon coming back Im floored by how much its exploded just in 5 months! I guess the word is out, Colorado life is where its at. As much as I would've liked to adjust immediately and get back into American life, it hasn't been that easy. The jet lag is real, the altitude adjustment is very real, but the toughest adjustment has been the American energy. Its not a bad thing, but its just so different than in Europe. The pace of life here in the US can be overwhelming, and I think spending so long outside has made me hypersensitive to it. My reaction has been to reevaluate how and who I spend my time with. I mean, who are we kidding? Time is the most precious non-renewable thing we have, and how we spend this resource literally IS our life. So that been a challenge, but also a welcome one. Overall, I miss the excitement of travel, but so content to be sleeping in my bed and cooking in my kitchen again. Travel [space_20] Today is part 2 of the Europe 2018 travel recap series on the MindMill. So I hope you enjoy the second part of the travel recap, it was so much fun to reflect on the trip with a close friend while it was still fresh in my mind. Brian is one of the best traveled people i know, hip hop aficionado, successful businessman, and a great friend. I promise he will be back on the show soon. Oh, and please check out MindMill abroad series on the website. The 5 part blog series features my best stab at photography, along with videos and a more detailed reflection on my travel experience. What is up everyone?! Seth here and Im so happy to home and to be back on the MindMill Podcast! Needless to say, the last 5 months have been life changing. For those of you who haven't been following, I spent early 2018 traveling solo through Europe and North Africa. Brian Tirey, a good friend and one of the most well-traveled people i know, joins me as we chat about travel lifestyle, preparation, lessons, and philosophy. Greg grew up in Alabama, an area of the country known for football, manners, and family values; though not always associated with mindfulness.  What has always stuck me about Greg is his ability to absorb the very best of a southern upbringing, and combine it with a progressive and healthy lifestyle.  He is kind, courteous, and carries a passion for serving others.  We have both spent much of our lives in the south, and have a love for the land, traditions, and people.  We also see the negative sides of some systemic habits in the south, which we dive into in this interview. [clear] Our work philosophy is based on four fundamental pillars, which we use as a guide in our organization and growth: [clear] Our CORE VALUES: COMMUNITY - Our community is the environment for which we design our work and which allows us to observe results and inspire new programs. CREATIVITY - In the acquisition of language, creativity helps us solve problems and connect ideas in the language we learn. Learning another language helps us see the world in more ways than one and encourages creative thinking, especially at an early age. POSITIVITY - Positive thinking is transmitted in learning very easily and is an essential quality in our teachers and in our work environment. [clear] Bailey is a close friend, and catching up with her is always a joy.  However, I learned a ton about her and her story in this interview.  One of the true joys of hosting the MindMill Podcast is getting into the weeds and the details.  What gives people purpose, and how that purpose fuels them to succeed. Bailey is an awesome woman who genuinely cares about those she influences.  We discuss the power of vulnerability in life and on social media, how to overcome poor eating habits, photography tips, and much more on this episode of the Mindmill… cheers! The MindMill - Bailey Rhatigan on the MindMill Podcast [hr] SHOW NOTES Bailey's Bio My name is Bailey and this is my blog where you can laugh, cry, yell and cook with me. I use the term “cook” loosely because, I try to keep things as simple as possible. I can be somewhat lazy in the kitchen with a full time sales and marketing job, most of my recipes require little effort but will always be full of flavor and packed with nourishment. I am a huge fan of meal prep Sunday, it's the best way to set yourself up for a tasty, easy healthy week and it will relieve A LOT of stress.  I am a health enthusiast and I am a firm believer in balance. If you like to have some wine at happy hour but also enjoy hiking mountains and staying active, we will get along just fine. As a native to Colorado, I really enjoy being outside, hanging with my pets and going to see live music (mainly EDM and mostly at Red Rocks). I started this blog not only to show you how easy and quick you can make yourself and your family a healthy delicious meal; but also to share my journey with my own hardships and triumphs in life. I am an introvert who wants to be extravert, so what better way to put myself out there than behind the safety of my computer screen :) xxx Instagram: @sailor_bailey Website: www.sailorbailey.com [hr] Thanks so much for listening to The MindMill Podcast! Julie Boyd on The MindMill Podcast Rediscover yourself through Transcendental Meditation | Julie Boyd Julie Boyd is an Author, Artist, Teacher, and Transcendental Mediation practitioner.  Her experiences with TM have sparked an "awakening" in her life that have expanded her in every direction conceivable.  She does not even recognize the person she was before transcendental mediation.  Julie's experiences as a mother and former school teacher provide her a unique and beautiful aspect on how to share TM to the world. Julie is a beacon of positivity, creativity, and mindfulness.  Her upcoming book shares her journeys of rediscovery in a life of meditation. The following is an excerpt of an email Julie sent me when preparing for this interview.  I find it gives a glimpse into the personality of Julie Boyd, the caring and thoughtful mentor I have become so connected to since meeting her only 6 months ago. Rediscover yourself through Transcendental Meditation | Julie B - Kenny and I just returned in August after spending a dedicated year and a half to our meditation practice... meditating average of 5-7 hours a day. What has come from that experience is an 'awakening' in January that has left me with an expanded view of the creation.  Everything about my life has been affected in profound ways. I am currently writing my first of many books I 'saw' while in my meditations. My husband and I have chosen a very different path than most people our age and our daily lives reflect our interest in our personal evolutions instead of the usual retirement mode of living. We are focused on expanding our intellects, hearts, and physiologies to their most heightened existence. We have a unique relationship and view the world through very different lens than most. We are serious, yet  blissfully emersed in our individual growth as well as being a couple. Kenny has been practicing TM for over 40 years and he introduced it to me the day I met him over 16 years ago, 3 months after Jillian's dad passed away of cancer.  He could see all over me that I was beaten down from life as a new widow and single working mother. I was hammered and was seriously worried about falling asleep at the wheel driving home from school. Relieving stress and getting deep rest was the reason I started meditating...no interest in my evolution at that moment in time. I didn't even know what that word really meant back then and didn't care!! I was totally in survival mode... It wasn't by chance that I met Kenny and he got me interested in TM...as it probably saved my life and my health.  I never expected a simple practice would have such an effect on my entire life and happiness. And of course, as so many people do when they experience a life-altering event, they feel compelled to share it with everyone. My goal now in this phase in my life is to raise awareness about not only this meditation technique but to convince others that such a simple commitment to themselves will not only improve their own health and happiness but also help raise their consciousness as well as the worlds. And by the look of our countries political and ethical situation...now is a good time to spread this perspective. [clear] Courtney and I get into it quick, and discuss everything from travel stories and plans, our relationships with cannabis, work-family balance, and the universal power of purpose.  We became fast friends, and I'm so excited to share Courtney Mathis with the MindMill Community. [hr] When reaching out to Courtney for our interview, she provided this amazing email, which gives great insight into all of her current project and her vibrant personality: [clear] EMAIL FROM COURTNEY: kindColorado: We are a nearly two-years old, female founded agency that facilitates community engagement for the cannabis industry (particularly those communities impacted by the War on Drugs). We have trademarked Cannabis Social Responsibility and developed a framework for how industry businesses can meaningful show up in their communities in a way that creates mutual benefit and thus positive community impact. (we are re-launching website soon, ignore its current state now) RootedSpace: This is my marketing and branding agency. We recently pivoted to serve only cannabis through market demand (very lucky). Our unique position is that we help craft messaging for companies that showcase their values - in hopes of cultivating increased brand affinity and fan loyalty. We also strive to get cannabis business owners to think about how their products are an illustration of values. In essence, giving them a chance to tell their market what they care about and why. Conscious Cannabis Co: This is a newly launched initiative of RootedSpace. Our goal is to elevate the cannabis industry's narrative while giving the cannabis community and the cannabis curious a way to support curated causes. We will first launch two t-shirts (including tanks and long-sleeves) - one will say "cannabis is the new kale", the other will say "Vitamin A, Vitamin B, Vitamin CBD". A percentage of proceeds (still working on #s) from cannabis is the new kale"  will go to hurricane relief and "vitamin A..." will go to support Wildfire relief. We will launch new shirts and new causes every quarter. Hemp and sustainably farmed cotton materials. (website coming soon) The Daily Organic: Our goal is to create a no frills, entertaining cannabis newsletter. We eliminate the consumers' need to visit multiple websites for cannabis news and deliver into their inbox (soon, daily). We also add much needed levity to very serious topics including regulation and politics. We are in beta phase but very excited about the potential of our product (modeled after The Skimm and Finimize). [space_20] Okay so that's all the fun that I'm up to. Most of these projects have prevailing themes, which is that I want to elevate the industry while also giving business owners the necessary tools to show up in their communities as good neighbors. I come from the nonprofit world, over 15 years management and strategic planning. It is a broken sector, handicapped by its own poverty mentality and inability to end cycles of bad philanthropy. What if we could take the courageous from the cannabis sector and embolden them to support the vulnerable from the nonprofit or service sectors. Whether we do this through thoughtful giving, authentic messaging or amazing swag - the goal is the same - marrying cannabis with a cause (other than it's own). And The Daily Organic is such a fun way to get an audience and overtime, share some our opinions about the unfolding cannabis landscape. [space_20] Also, doing all of this while being a first time mom is FUCKING hard. Balance is nearly impossible.

Myself, as well as Chip Baker from “The Real Dirt Podcast”, joined up and hosted an open discussion with some of the top players in the cannabis industry.  The topic: Phish (with a PH) and Cannabis in Colorado.  The show was a blast, and a refreshing format change to normal episodes on the MindMill.  The episode was recoded live outside of the Phish lot, which as many of you know is spectacle in and of itself. [space_20] I personally have a close relationship with Phish.  The band not only influenced my musical tastes at a formative age, they also pushed me to practice my instruments to able to musically improvise with others, a skill that continues to serve me today.  As a long time phish fan, I was eager to take a little air time to talk music and history with other Phish heads.  Us here in Denver have been spoiled by a consistent 3-day run of shows over labor day weekend.  Its been happening for 7 years now, and is always a great time to reconnect with friends from all over the country and enjoy the band's music. [space_20] Those of you that are familiar with Phish know that a lot of people who enjoy the band also enjoy cannabis.  Lets face it, Phish and Weed are like PB&J.  The cannabis industry has exploded here in Colorado over the past 8 years. The industry is rapidly evolving into a professional market for alternative medicine.  Up until a year ago, I was immersed in the cannabis industry.  I have been lead horticulturalist, facility manager, compliance consultant, and director of operations at leading cannabis companies.  Although I am currently not working in the space,  I know the industry and love discussing it with fellow professionals. [space_20] And that brings us to our live show.  Some of the leading entrepreneurs and professionals in the Colorado cannabis industry discussing their craft and a band they love.  Hope you enjoy! #07: Chip Baker | Before and After Ayahuasca Pt.1

Whats Up everybody!?  Seth here, and todays episode of the MindMill is the first of a small small series of episodes coming over the next few weeks.  When I'm not on MindMill duties,  I work as a producer on another awesome podcast, The Real Dirt with Chip Baker. Ive known Chip since I moved to Denver, and recently we've been working together on his in-depth podcast for the Cannabis Industry. Chip is a serial entrepreneur, and his horticultural companies service the Cannabis industry. This gives his show a unique vantage point that you won't find in other cannabis podcasts. I highly recommend you check it out, he interviews the movers and shakers of the Cannabis world. Todays episode, however, is not about weed, although the subject does come up.  Today we are talking about Ayahuasca, the ancient plant medicine that has become incredibly popular and trendy in the past 10 years.  For those of you unfamiliar, Ayahuasca is a hallucinogenic brew from the Amazon.  It has been used for thousands of years by the indigenous tribes in the jungle. The brew offers a potent dosage of DMT, along with an enzyme inhibitor resulting in a powerful and deep hallucinogenic experience.  Ayahuasca has been glamorized by the burning man community and silicon valley alike, as its effects can cause intense outer body experiences and profound insights.  With its recent  explosion in popularity, the safety and responsible use of this brew have been compromised as its supply spreads over the world.  This is a touchy subject, and everyone seems to have their own opinion on this jungle juice. When Chip told me he was traveling down to Peru for his first Ayahuasca experience, I jumped on the opportunity to interview him on the matter.  The result is a two-part before and after interview, the first being today's episode.  We talk about preparation, expectations, safety, and science; along with some very badly pronounce scientific plant names.  Chip is quite ther character, and I really enjoyed his perspective and excitement in this interview.  Obligatory Disclaimer:  Ayahuasca is a powerful substance that has not been approved by the FDA, if you are considering ingesting Ayahusca, please do it in a safe and responsible manner, and under professional supervision. Guys, do your homework, this is far from a party drug.  I hope you enjoy part one of my interview with Chip Baker. Michael Kaplan on Work Family Balance, Entrepreneurship in Law, and traveling the world with 4 kids This episode is with Michael Kaplan, founding partner at Kaplan/Morrel Law firm. Mike is an accomplished workers compensation attourney, successful entrepreneur, husband and father of 4. He is also my cousin and biggest mentor. Mike has been my “big brother” my entire life, he knows me better than anyone. Michael and I discuss work family balance, stepping out on your own, leadership, and how bullying has shaped him as well as his parenting style. We prepped for this interview with a game of ping pong in my garage, which has been a lifelong rivalry for us. I loved this interview, and can't wait to share it. So without further adoe, Michael Kaplan. Michael Kaplan, his wife Ann, and four children Mike's Daily Affirmation: There is only one success - “To be able to spend your life in your own way.” “I CAN. I WILL."   Advice for the stressed achiever:   You have to create the meaning that allow you to enjoy every aspect of what your doing.  You have to bring that enjoyment to the table if it's not there.  You have to bring the laughter, you have to bring the joy, you have to bring the harmony, you have to bring the fun; you have to bring all these things to the table.   Understand that life is about the journey, not the achievement.  Life is about happily achieving, not achieving to be happy.  Remove the stress from the achievement: keep the intensity, remove the stress.  “Do” with gratitude, joy, and happiness.  Enjoy the process.  You can keep the intensity, thats great, but you must let go of the stress.   SHOW NOTES: http://kaplanmorrell.com   Click Here for all MindMill Episodes   If you enjoy The MindMill Podcast, please subscribe to our show on your favorite podcast platform or share us on social media!  Any MindMill love goes a long way! Writing can simplify an otherwise complex thought. Write it down, it always helps. The Power of Writing Everything This feature episode is about productive writing, how its utility has shifted in the last two decades, and why it is more important than ever. We all feel overwhelmed at times, way too much on our plates, not enough time in the day.  Often it is our unorganized view of our task list (or lack thereof) that stresses us out, not the tasks themselves.  It is incredible how quickly writing your thoughts can simplify a project, emotion, or relationship.  In this episode,  host Seth discusses his writing habits and how he applies them to aid his happiness and productivity. The following is the outline and show notes for this episode. Everyone has ideas.  we can't stop thinking.  The power of writing is in catching those flying thoughts, and concreting them to the page. We can build on our ideas We can express in words what feels so intangible. Can be intimidating, but once you get over the fear of the blank page, it can be more powerful than therapy. No one is born a note-taker.  It is something that each person has to practice.  It gets easier, but it will always be necessary Even more necessary as we age. More responsibilities and more to remember fading memory and recognition Our long term memory gets fuller and fuller For me, it began in High school history class. Ms. Cox College was more of distraction.  procrastination is not the way Being a cultivation manager introduced me to the importance of calendars, scheduling, note-taking, and documentation Keeping a complete calendar is the first step to freedom example booking your self to study, take notes, journal, etc. My current writing system All-in Journal Keep on or by me at all times anything goes to-do lists grocery lists Transfer to digital format once a week, usually sundays Daily Journal Daily gratitude Long and short term goal setting Reflection and planning fun to read through and remember your days Evernote for building projects saving notes traveling saving images and receipts easy to build and share Digital Calendar shared and personal calendars color coordination alerts and reminders Fitness Journal Track exercise and eating habits set goals and aceive them what works and doesn't work for your body quantify your gains writing everything you eat makes you think harder about what you put inside your body Long form journal So intimidating at first, now its therapy start with prompted journal, it eliminates the fear of pen to blank paper   Click here for all MindMill Episodes!
