POPULARITY
RPCS3 devs are cracking down hard on vibe coding -- the most popular PS3 emulator team just nuked undisclosed AI-generated slop pull requests on GitHub after getting flooded with garbage code that breaks stuff because the submitters don't even understand what they "vibed" out of ChatGPT. Yeah after real human grinders turned the Cell processor nightmare into 70% playable games these AI bros show up expecting merges while the team flat-out warned they'll start banning without disclosure and told everyone to learn how to debug and code instead of peddling junk that doesn't work -- classic open-source reality check hitting the LLM hype train. In this episode we meet Don WB9CYY and Bob WO6W. Both avid CW operators with a love of the old style mechanical "bug" radio telegraph keys. Feeling that the existing CW paddles and keyers sent code that was too highly accurate and lacked any sort of personality, they came up with a very novel way make a modern paddle sound like a bug. As an introduction we talk about the differnet paddle and key types and then take a deep dive into the development of the bug emulator.

The AYN Thor is a modern love letter to the DS and 3DS era of handhelds, specifically it feels and looks similar to a Nintendo "NEW" 3DS XL, but with way more horsepower under the hood. You're looking at a crisp 6‑inch 1080p AMOLED up top, a 3.9‑inch AMOLED touch screen below, and internals that scale from a Snapdragon 865 up to a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with 16 gigs of RAM and a terabyte of storage. Toss in Hall‑effect sticks, stacked triggers, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, and a beefy 6000mAh battery, and you've got a dual‑screen handheld that's not just for nostalgia — it's a fantastic multi-tasking emulation and Android gaming monster.Thor: https://rh-go.link/AYN-ThorThor Accessories:https://rh-go.link/AYN-Thor-Accessories_Packhttps://rh-go.link/AYN-Thor-Lanyardhttps://rh-go.link/AYN-Thor-Carrying-Casehttps://rh-go.link/AYN-Thor-TPU-Griphttps://rh-go.link/AYN-Thor-Soft-Pouchhttps://rh-go.link/AYN-Thor-TPU-Shellhttps://rh-go.link/AYN-Thor-Screen-Protectors Configs:https://rh-go.link/AYN-Thor-Litehttps://rh-go.link/AYN-Thor-Basehttps://rh-go.link/AYN-Thor-ProThor Stylus: https://rh-go.link/Mini_Android_Stylus@RetroGameCorps Input Delay Tests: https://www.reddit.com/r/SBCGaming/comments/1o8mbmn/more_thor_input_delay_testing_because_why_not/ 〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰✨Became a Supporterhttps://patreon.com/RetroHandhelds or Discord sub• Access to Patron only Discord chat & marketplace• Earn merch, enter giveaways, and get free stuff• Device Modding Services
In this episode of the LEGENDS: Podcast by All Day Vinyl, host Scott Dudelson sits down with Andy McCluskey, singer and co-founder of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD), for a conversation that blends history, creativity, and reflection. Speaking on the heels of OMD's recent 2025 U.S. tour and the 40th anniversary reissue of Crush, Andy offers an inside look at what it took for the band to break into the American market after years of reinvention. Andy recalls the intense late nights recording Crush with producer Stephen Hague, and how the experimental chaos of Dazzle Ships led OMD to regroup and redefine their sound through Junk Culture and Crush. He details the band's distinctive creative process—from tape loops and early samplers like the Emulator and Fairlight to the unique textures that shaped tracks like “Secret” and the Japanese-inspired title song. Throughout the episode, Andy shares behind-the-scenes moments that shaped OMD's legacy: writing “If You Leave” at the last minute for Pretty in Pink, the bittersweet radio life of “Secret,” and the political spark behind “88 Seconds in Greensboro.” He also reflects on OMD's roots—early Liverpool gigs, lifelong friendships, and the art and imagery (including Edward Hopper's influence on the Crush cover) that helped define their identity. The conversation closes with a look ahead at OMD's plans for future touring and new music—proof that even after four decades, Andy's passion for innovation and melody remains as sharp as ever. Theatre is on the brain this week here on this video game podcast that is rapidly becoming more and more of a theatre-podcast by each episode (listen... Gay for PLAY is a double entendre; walk with me...) Our main topic this week the stunning pro-shot of the West End production of Next to Normal: the 2009 Pulitzer-prize winning musical about a woman's mental health and its impact on her and her complicated family. It's a show we forgot how much we loved and we're thrilled to have this new version to chew over and analyze. Before that, we also get into the Patti LuPone drama that shook the theatre world this week, and Eric discusses his latest theme park adventures which you can follow along with on his new YOUTUBE channel! (Watch and Subscribe HERE!)On the video game front, this week we share some more thoughts on Blue Prince now that Eric has played a good deal more & Laurence as rolled credits. We also touch on LOK Digital, a lovely little word/puzzle game we've been playing on mobile. But mainly, we're focused on the video games of days past this week as we both have been having fun with some Emulators across our various devices! We discuss Chibi-Robo, Silent Hill 2, Golden Sun, Twilight Princess, and a host of other classics that we've been revisiting with the power of technology. What Else We're Gay For:ERIC - RuPaul's Drag Race All-Stars 10LAURENCE - Vine: Six Seconds that Changed the World========Get in touch with us!EMAIL US at gayforplaypodcast@gmail.comFOLLOW G4P (& Message us on any of our socials for a link to our Discord!)Twitter: @GayForPlayPodInstagram: @GayForPlayPodTwitch: twitch.tv/gayforplaypod========CREDITSIntro and outro music by Connor Marsh (@connorjmarshmallow)Show art by Benny Kessler (@retro.spectacle.studio)
