Love, PlowGuyDave Question from Rob K from Connecticut Rob K From ConnecticutDear WLS Hey guys it's Rob again! I finally got my approval paperwork on my Aero M5 in my state after having to register it. Since it will probably be my only AR-10 I'll ever own unless I move I'm looking for ideas on a final build for it. I'm very similar to Nick where I don't want to switch around uppers on my lower. If you guys could only build one AR-10 how would each of you do it? Caliber? Barrel length? Optic? Max range I have access to is 200 yards. I'm open to anything on my final build including switching to 6.5 Creedmoor. It's currently set up with a 18inch Aero upper in 308 with a swampfox 5-25×56 FFP Warhawk. Before Jeremey comments I know the scope is massive for that rifle and range I have. I got a crazy deal on it and couldn't say no but realized it's not ment for my setup. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Bonus question! What bolt rifle would you throw that Warhawk on always down to buy another rifle for the collection. Many thanks guys!!! #WLS is life!!! Make a Logo on Fiverr The Carbinox Edge is a durable smartwatch built for people who work, travel, hike, build, sweat and occasionally put their gear through situations most wearables would never survive. In this first look, the Carbinox Edge gets unboxed, paired, tested and then frozen inside a block of ice for one of the most extreme smartwatch durability tests I have ever done. A Rugged Smartwatch Built for Real Abuse The Carbinox Edge comes across as a smartwatch made for rougher environments. It features a stainless steel body, Gorilla Glass, IP69K protection, 5 ATM water resistance and a 1.96-inch AMOLED display. It is designed for users who want something tougher than a basic fitness watch, especially if they work on construction sites, spend time outdoors or simply want a watch that can handle more abuse than a typical smartwatch. The watch also includes dual-band GNSS with six tracking systems, which means it can track location without relying only on your phone. That could be useful for hiking, job sites, emergency situations or anywhere phone-free tracking matters. What Comes in the Box Inside the box, the Carbinox Edge includes the watch body, a band, a manual, a USB-C charging cable and a proprietary charging base. The charging dock is magnetic and connects to the back of the watch using two contact points. The included band uses quick-release pins, making it easier to attach or swap out. That is a nice touch if you want to change bands or replace one after heavy use. Setup and App Pairing Pairing the Carbinox Edge is straightforward. After powering on the watch, the setup process asks for a language selection and displays a QR code for app pairing. The watch connects through the Carbinox Max app, and once paired, it can show notifications, weather, fitness data, health tracking, watch settings and firmware updates. The watch works with both iPhone and Android devices. During setup, it connected quickly over Bluetooth and displayed battery level, GPS satellite data and watch face options through the app. Display, Battery and Features The Carbinox Edge has a 410-by-502 resolution AMOLED display with 331 PPI and up to 1,000 nits of brightness. That should make it easier to read indoors and outdoors. Battery life is one of the biggest selling points. The watch has a 500 mAh battery, with Carbinox claiming up to 25 days depending on use. In the test, the watch still had plenty of battery before being frozen, and after being removed from the ice, it still powered back on and reconnected. Health and utility features include heart rate, SpO2, sleep, stress, mood, activity tracking, workouts, weather, calls, alarms, music controls and notifications. The Extreme Ice Test Instead of simply scratching the screen, hitting it with a hammer or running it over, this test took a different approach. The Carbinox Edge was frozen inside a block of ice for 24 hours. The idea was to simulate an extreme situation where the watch might be buried, frozen or stuck in a harsh environment. After about 12 to 14 hours, the watch stopped responding to the phone while still frozen. But once it was chipped out of the ice, it powered back on, showed the correct time and reconnected to the phone. Even while wet, the touchscreen still responded. The buttons continued working, and the display showed no visible scratches after additional scraping and impact testing. What Worked Well The biggest win is durability. The Carbinox Edge survived being frozen in ice for a full day, then came back to life after being removed. The screen held up well, the buttons still worked and the watch remained usable even while wet. The long battery life is also a major plus. A durable smartwatch is only useful if it can stay powered long enough to matter, and the Carbinox Edge appears built with that in mind. The display is bright, the body feels rugged and the quick-release band system makes it easier to manage than older watch designs. A Few Issues to Watch There were a couple of issues during use. When traveling to Las Vegas, the phone updated to the new time zone, but the watch did not update until the Carbinox app was opened. That could likely be fixed in a firmware update. Notifications were another concern. The watch did not clearly separate text messages from other app notifications, activity alerts or reminders. Turning off unwanted notifications also affected text alerts. Again, this feels like something that could improve through software updates. Final First Look The Carbinox Edge is an extreme smartwatch for people who need more than basic fitness tracking. It is rugged, bright, long-lasting and surprisingly tough. Freezing it in a block of ice for 24 hours did stop it from responding temporarily, but once it came out, it powered back on and kept working. For anyone looking for a durable smartwatch that can handle harsh conditions, the Carbinox Edge makes a strong first impression. After nearly a decade of wearing an Apple Watch, I finally ditched it. Not because I stopped caring about health data, but because I realized the device was working against the simplicity and freedom I value. Plus, no matter how many times I toggled it into airplane mode, the Bluetooth stayed on — meaning constant EMF exposure right over a major artery. Add to that the Apple Watch's short battery life and the never-ending need to recharge it, and it started to feel like a net negative in my life. And at the end of the day, I decided I just didn't want another tether disguised as technology. For a few months, I went back to a simple analog watch — quiet, timeless, and disconnected. But I soon came to miss a few basic tools that actually make life easier, like a reliable timer, a stopwatch, and subtle notifications when my phone's on silent. So I began searching for an Apple Watch replacement with just the right (limited) set of features. And the device I settled on is the Amazfit Balance 2, which runs nearly two weeks on a single charge, has a clean AMOLED display, and lets me turn Bluetooth and Wi-Fi completely off when I want to disconnect. After using it for a few months, I've come to see it as striking a perfect balance between tech and minimalism. I still get my sunrise and sunset times, my recovery data, and a timer when I need one — but without the invisible leash. If you've struggled with finding that same balance between health tracking and digital overload, this episode might help you rethink what you wear on your wrist. The AYN Thor is a modern love letter to the DS and 3DS era of handhelds, specifically it feels and looks similar to a Nintendo "NEW" 3DS XL, but with way more horsepower under the hood. You're looking at a crisp 6‑inch 1080p AMOLED up top, a 3.9‑inch AMOLED touch screen below, and internals that scale from a Snapdragon 865 up to a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with 16 gigs of RAM and a terabyte of storage. Toss in Hall‑effect sticks, stacked triggers, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, and a beefy 6000mAh battery, and you've got a dual‑screen handheld that's not just for nostalgia — it's a fantastic multi-tasking emulation and Android gaming monster.Thor: https://rh-go.link/AYN-ThorThor Accessories:https://rh-go.link/AYN-Thor-Accessories_Packhttps://rh-go.link/AYN-Thor-Lanyardhttps://rh-go.link/AYN-Thor-Carrying-Casehttps://rh-go.link/AYN-Thor-TPU-Griphttps://rh-go.link/AYN-Thor-Soft-Pouchhttps://rh-go.link/AYN-Thor-TPU-Shellhttps://rh-go.link/AYN-Thor-Screen-Protectors Configs:https://rh-go.link/AYN-Thor-Litehttps://rh-go.link/AYN-Thor-Basehttps://rh-go.link/AYN-Thor-ProThor Stylus: https://rh-go.link/Mini_Android_Stylus@RetroGameCorps Input Delay Tests: https://www.reddit.com/r/SBCGaming/comments/1o8mbmn/more_thor_input_delay_testing_because_why_not/ 〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰✨Became a Supporterhttps://patreon.com/RetroHandhelds or Discord sub• Access to Patron only Discord chat & marketplace• Earn merch, enter giveaways, and get free stuff• Device Modding Services

On this week's episode of The MacRumors Show, we discuss the long-awaited roll out of Apple CarPlay Ultra and Samsung's all-new S25 Edge, which is positioned to rival the iPhone 17 Air later this year. Apple this week announced CarPlay Ultra, its next-generation CarPlay experience. CarPlay Ultra fully extends across all of the vehicle's display, including the instrument cluster. It provides access to real-time vehicle data, supports iPhonewidgets, theme options, instrument cluster display customizations, and introduces integrations for vehicle functions. CarPlay Ultra is available first in new Aston Martin models in North America. Existing Aston Martin vehicles will also support CarPlay Ultra through forthcoming software updates. Looking ahead, Apple says it has secured commitments from Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis to bring CarPlay Ultra to their vehicles in the coming year. Other automakers are expected to follow. In other news, Samsung this week announced the Galaxy S25 Edge — a device clearly designed to undercut the iPhone 17 Air's expected appeal, with both smartphones aiming to be the thinnest in their respective ecosystems. The Galaxy S25 Edge sports a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, a titanium frame, and a remarkably slim 5.8mm profile, weighing in at just 163 grams. It features a dual-lens camera system, including a 200MP wide-angle sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide camera, supported by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. Samsung is also pushing its AI credentials with features like Drawing Assist and Audio Eraser. In contrast, the iPhone 17 Air is rumored to be even thinner at just 5.5mm, making it Apple's slimmest iPhone ever. It is expected to feature a 6.6-inch OLED display with ProMotion. Apple is said to be removing the ultra-wide camera entirely and opting for a single 48MP wide camera, removing the SIM card tray, and the secondary stereo speaker to save internal space. Other expected specifications include a 24MP front-facing camera, 12GB of RAM, and the A19 chip. While the iPhone 17 Air may win the title of thinnest flagship, it could come with a major compromise: battery life. According to internal testing leaks, only 60–70% of users are expected to get through a full day on a single charge — a notable drop from the 80–90% seen with other recent iPhone models. Apple is reportedly using a higher-density battery and its custom C1 modem to squeeze as much efficiency as possible into the super-thin design. To address this, Apple is reportedly developing a new USB-C battery case, designed to extend the iPhone 17 Air's runtime. The accessory could launch alongside the device to help mitigate negative perceptions around longevity

Model Fénix 7X nabídl LED svítilnu a její obliba výrobce překvapila, protože do té doby si o ni zákazníci neříkali, popisuje host. Momentálně se debatuje o tom, jestli displeje AMOLED vytlačí transflektivní displeje. Ale Garmin, to nejsou jen hodinky… Nejen o tom s Ivo Steinerem debatuje Filip Kůžel.01:16 – Jak Garmin uspěl s hodinkami10:30 – Displeje v hodinkách17:56 – Byznys Garminu a mapy
Vrchol raketového inženýringu, chirurgicky přesné přistání 70metrové Super Heavy na „jídelních hůlkách“ startovací (teď už vlastně i přistávací) rampy. Neuvěřitelné a ještě jednou neuvěřitelné.
Three different-size AMOLED tablets…which to choose? We take a look at what's new and unbox the Ultra too.
We saw Samsung's latest S Pen-enabled Android tablets, and they've got lovely displays. But they're also more expensive than a lot of the competition.
"I always define the impossible as possible. Nothing is impossible to me. I always put my mind to do impossible things." Montverde Academy rising senior Adaejah Hodge shook the track and field world when she won the New Balance Nationals Indoor 200m title in 22.33 seconds. The performance broke the previous record of 22.97 by Bianca Knight, which stood since 2007. Hodge also qualified for the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary later this summer, where she will represent the British Virgin Islands. She holds the BVI national records in the outdoor 100m (11.11s) and indoor 200m (22.33s). On Memorial Day weekend, we paid a visit to Clermont, Florida to witness her work on her powerful start and smooth stride alongside coach Gerald Phiri. The 17-year-old has tremendous potential to become one of the best sprinters in the world. Her work ethic and her personality are unmatched for someone her age. Hodge is entered in the 100 meters, 200 meters, 4x200m relay and 4x400m relay and sprint medley relay at New Balance Nationals Outdoor from June 15-18 in Philadelphia. You will be able to watch all of the action LIVE and for FREE on the New Balance YouTube channel. "This is a lesson to all people out there to keep the faith. Sometimes even though what you think you might want, might not be what's for you. As my mother always said to me, 'What's for you won't pass you by.' Sometimes we just need to have a little patience. And sometimes that patience can not just be weeks or months but it can be years. I've always thought I'm meant to be in the sport. I have to be in the sport. That's not being egotistical. It's good to have passionate people in this sport. That's what we need. I feel like I can bring that and I'm so grateful now that I can bring it through CITIUS." David McCarthy is CITIUS MAG's Europe correspondent right now. We've had him at On Track Nights in London and Paris. He was at the Paris and Florence Diamond League. He secured interviews with Jakob Ingebrigtsen and his father Gjert, which have taken off on our YouTube channel but you'll also be able to listen to within this episode. His passion for track and field has made him an instant match to work with us at CITIUS. The athletes have seemed receptive to him. The fans have enjoyed watching. I figured I'd give him a proper welcome to the team and have him share a bit of his own backstory on the podcast since you'll be seeing and hearing much more from him on CITIUS MAG's channels. We're just two years into CITIUS MAG being my full-time job and it's been awesome bringing our readers, listeners, followers and supporters along for the journey since this was just a blog + space to geek out on track and field while on the side of my full-time job at Sports Illustrated. We're proud of the audience and loyal following that we've grown across all channels including this podcast, our Instagram, our YouTube channel, our Twitter, our newsletters and now our website. In this episode, we decide to catch people up on some of the exciting developments that we've had recently in expanding our coverage to Europe, our website and brand redesign, some of our upcoming sponsorships and partnerships with major brands around the U.S. Championships and World Athletics Championships and much more. "A lot of people talk about how they appreciate how supportive I am of them or how they don't understand how I can look at people and I have the utmost support and faith in you because I haven't done anything to deserve that. Well, if there's one thing my dad taught me is that you can't always look at the stats or how people appear to be on the surface. Sometimes you just know if people have it in them even though they haven't shown it yet or they don't know it yet. I'm comfortable and more than willing to show love to everybody because that's one thing that he taught me and I understood how important that was for me as someone who wants to be a professional in the future and wants to change the sport." My guest for this episode is Katelyn Hutchison. You've heard her on our show as a recurring analyst and I never got the chance to do a full introduction with her as a guest on the show to share some of her backstory. So we decided that one year with CITIUS MAG would be a good time to look back on her year working alongside us. Katelyn is a sprinter at the University of Kentucky. Before that, she ran at Ithaca and she's a champion for all things Division III. Her enthusiasm for the sport is next level. She's harnessed that on Twitter, where she's got very loyal followers that live for the next Katelyn interview with an athlete or her reactions to major moments. She is an alum of the Magic Boost Program, a mentorship program for aspiring track and field content creators across videography, photography, podcasting, writing, graphic design and other modern means of storytelling. She also just got accepted as one of seven World Athletics Content Creators. The sky is the limit for Katelyn and I'm so proud of the work she's done with us and will continue to do with CITIUS MAG. "It just felt like the right time. My body hasn't held up to the training necessary to compete. There's nothing I can really do about it. I'm so thankful for the career that I had. It's led me to some of the best connections and relationships in my life. I couldn't imagine I would've got this far when I started. The competitor in me believes there are things I could've done that I didn't but that's how it goes in this sport. You're never going to be truly satisfied." After eight years of running professionally, Eric Jenkins has retired. The announcement was made on the latest episode of The CITIUS MAG Podcast. The Portsmouth, New Hampshire native finished his career with personal bests of 3:35.94 for 1500m; 3:53.23 for the mile, 13:05.85 for 5000m and 27:22.06 for 10,000m. He broke out as a junior at Northeastern when he ran 7:46.21 to finish second in the 3,000m at the NCAA Indoor Championships (the ninth-fastest performance in NCAA history at the time) only to be DQ'ed controversially. He went on to transfer to Oregon and finished second at the 2014 NCAA Cross Country Championships before winning two individual indoor titles at 3000m and 5000m. Jenkins graduated and signed with Nike and spent time working under Alberto Salazar and the Nike Oregon Project, Pete Julian and the Union Athletics Club and Andy Powell. While many people within the track and field community may think of him for his reputation as a fun off-season guy or his hilarious Instagram videos, many don't realize just how intense he was as an athlete. It showed when he finished fourth at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials, qualified for the 2017 World Championships and managed to win the Millrose Games' Wanamaker Mile and 5th Avenue Mile. Listen to the full conversation on The CITIUS MAG Podcast for more stories by Jenkins including being a punk in high school, deciding to take the sport seriously/breaking out at Northeastern, #FreeJenkins, landing at Oregon and winning two titles, his time at the Nike Oregon Project and what he considers his best race ever. “Women with kids keep getting better. You become strong. It's the opposite of what some people might think. Because sometimes people would be like, ‘if you go on maternity leave, you might be done.' It's becoming the opposite. If you look at Keira (D'Amato) or Aliphine (Tuliamuk), you can bounce back and do better than what you used to. Even in my 20s, I wasn't feeling the way I feel right now, especially in the road racing.” My guest for this episode is Betsy Saina who has re-emerged as a star in 2023 after giving birth to her son, running 2:21 at the Tokyo Marathon and just won the USATF 25K Championships this past weekend in Grand Rapids, Michigan. That marathon performance in Tokyo was It was her first marathon since giving birth to her son and her first marathon since becoming an American citizen. She's certainly someone in the conversation for one of the three spots on the line at the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials that will determine the team for the Summer Games in Paris. Chris Chavez and Katelyn Hutchison recap their experiences and the standout performances at On Track Nights' Los Angeles stop – Sound Running's Track Fest – and the Atlanta City Games. We dive into what made the meets stand out to us, what other meets could learn from them and how they all fit into the rest of the season. We touch on Sha'Carri Richardson winning the women's 100m at the Doha Diamond League in a world-leading 10.76. She beat Jamaica's Shericka Jackson and Great Britain's Dina Asher-Smith. Florence Diamond League organizers announced 100m world champion Fred Kerley and 100m Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs will go head-to-head in the 100m on June 2. World championship bronze medalist Trayvon Bromell is also in the field. (A day later, Rabat Diamond League organizers also announced all three as part of their meet on May 28. The Rabat field also includes Andre De Grasse, Ferdinand Omanyala, Letsile Tebogo, Akani Simbine and Yohan Blake.) "My advice to the younger women is: If you're passionate about this, pursue it. That's what it is. That's how it's going to change for the next generation of women to get to where I'm at now. I'm hoping that some of these younger female coaches are inspired by what we're doing at BYU and they're seeing here that she's a mom; she's a coach; she's at a D-1, she's successful and she's ‘kind of' has it together, right? And hopefully, that inspires them. If she can do it, then I can do it.” My guest for this episode is Diljeet Taylor, the head women's cross-country and distance coach at BYU. In her eight years there, Taylor has transformed the BYU women's distance running program into a national powerhouse, coaching the cross-country team to top-10 finishes at Nationals every year. They've been on the podium three of the last four years – including winning it all at the 2020 NCAA Cross Country Championships. She has guided more than two dozen BYU runners to All-American honors, and several individual titles. Standout performances have become the norm. Taylor's dedication to her runners' whole lives, not just their running, is a refreshing approach to the pressure of purely results-driven programs that we see across the country. In our conversation, we'll be discussing her approach to coaching and how she balances the various demands on her time, including being a mom and a wife. We'll touch on her own journey to becoming a Division I coach, the challenges she's faced and the impact she's had on her athletes and what she hopes to leave behind for the sport. “Especially this year, what I want to do is be better than last year. I feel like my mentality in the fall and winter was to run better than I did last year. Even though maybe I didn't have the position results I wanted, I PR'ed in every single event. I've accomplished those goals and now for the outdoor season, I just want to win races and be one of the best in the world.” Mario Garcia Romo is a professional middle-distance runner representing Spain and the On Athletics Club. Last year was a massive season for him. He won the NCAA indoor mile title with Ole Miss and then has a disappointing showing at the NCAA Outdoor Championships but many people forgot about it when he ended up winning the Spanish 1500m title and then finished fourth at the World Championships in the 1500m in 3:30.20. It was a big personal best and he moved from seventh to fourth in the final 100 meters. He missed that bronze medal by just three-hundredths of a second. He went on to earn a bronze medal at the European Championships before fully joining the OAC in Boulder in the fall. This past indoor season, he broke the Spanish indoor mile record in 3:51.79 at the Millrose Games. In this conversation, you'll hear about his goals for the upcoming outdoor season to try and improve upon last year, being a student of the sport watching Matt Centrowitz videos to become a master tactician, his roots in Spain and much more. "I've thought about this before, 'Am I the only pro-related person that they're following? A lot of times yeah. That's why I've recently tried to diversify who I'm posting about so I can have people liking more people other than just Leo and Lex Young. They're great but they're not the only people out there. I want to expose my followers to a lot of different sides of the sport." I'm excited for you to listen to this chat. It's with the one and only NoContextXCTrack. Some of you might be like “Who?” “What?” “Huh” I jokingly shot over a DM inviting them onto the podcast and they agreed to do it I granted them anonymity and put a filter over their voice so this is a fun one. @NoContextXCTrack is an Instagram account that has blown up within the past year. They share funny photos and videos with no caption and little to no context. There are videos of Jakob Ingebrigtsen, the COFFEE CLUB guys, race fails and so much more. It's mostly content that has been submitted by followers or things they find. It's a fascinating account. Many of you follow them but if not, I encourage you to do so. You'll learn all about the account, its origins, the responsibility they feel with so many followers to spread the love of track and field and much more. You'll get some hints as to who the person is but not enough context.
